Christianity EtcRe: How Jesus Reacted To The Worship Of Mary by Syncan(m):

but when the church begins to speak error, what do you do.my friend, please seek God yourself and let him reveal to you what the truth is,himself.I can promise you that he will do it,because I have seen him do it a lot of times.I think you won't seek God to know the truth because you love your comfort zone and wouldn't want anything to shift your thought..I am an example of men who sought the truth before it was revealed,I did this because they were so many lies going on in the church..only the fact that I will have NP one to blame if I go to hell made me seek the truth..seek the truth today my dear friend,if God speaks to you and say where you are is good.then fine stay there..
You see your life? You don't even believe Jesus nor the bible you take as your sole authority.

Jesus said. "And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.Matt.16:18

Again Jesus said to the church " ...Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen. Matt 28:20

Again the Bible said "But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth. 1Tim.3:15

And you say the church will teach error? And you will not. I disagree, let me go with scripture please.

The traditions Paul talked abt was the good example the Apostles set and the bible was not compiled then. Let me hear that the Catholic church was spreading what when they were busy burning and torturing people that tried to have a bible.

Hahahaha, he speaks the truth....Oga the church has been teaching the truth from the time of the Apostles till now, her children were martyred for the truth, the Church will continue to teach the truth till her bridegroom comes Rev 19:7-9. I will listen to the Church, the "Pillar and ground of truth", not you.

yes man, the Bible made mention of what Jesus prayed about [ Matthew 26: 39 & 42 ] indicating that he prayed about samething 3 different times but didnt do recitation
Hahaha, stop that deceit mr. This is all that the bible told us Jesus prayed "O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt. Matt.26:39. To avoid any doubt about this, the bible repeated this prayer again in Vs 42, yet the bible in verse 40 tells us he must have spent more than one hour praying on the first occasion. So did the bible say he said the prayer once through out the one hour period in each occasion? And then for a third time he went back "Saying same thing", what same thing?

no matter how hard you fight the truth, you can never stop it from being truthful.you come here defending your church and her doctrines instead of working out your salvation with fear and tremble, because when a man stands before God on that great day,"my rev father lied"or"the pope lied" will not be an excuse oh.....let those that have ears hear what the spirit is saying..
Since you are tired of accusing the brethren, you may now take your advice and "go work out your salvation in fear and trembling". Don't come here saying what you don't know about.

There were no apostles in the old testament. The apostles were anionted disciples of Jesus. All what we need to knw is recorded in the bible. Anyone going contrary is going to be misled by the doctrines of men.
Mr man substantiate your point. The bible as you have it became one book not earlier than 330AD. What was the Catholic church using in propagating and preaching Christianity before then? Stop making baseless claims, where does the bible claim that everything you need to know is inside it. Yet st. Paul told the thesselonians to "Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle. 2Thess 2:15.

Note , I am not trying to disprove your believe because it is none of my business, but I have to answer
you.

Matthew 13:55-56 "Is not this the carpenter's son? Is not His mother called Mary, and His brothers, James and Joseph and Simon and Judas? 56 "And His sisters, are they not all with us? Where then did this man get all these things?" 57 And they took offense at Him. But Jesus said to them, "A prophet is not without honor except in his home town, and in his own household."

Mark 6:3 "Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, and brother of James, and Joses, and Judas, and Simon? Are not His sisters here with us?" And they took offense at Him. 4 And Jesus said to them, "A prophet is not without honor except in his home town and among his own relatives and in his own household.
Compare This:

John Matt. 27:56. "Among which was Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James and Joses, and the mother of Zebedee's children".

Matt 27: 61 "And there was Mary Magdalene, and the other Mary, sitting over against the sepulchre"

With This

John 19:25 Now there stood by the cross of Jesus his mother, and his mother's sister, Mary the wife of Cleophas, and Mary Magdalene

Just look at the bold in red.

Jude included another acct not recorded anywhere in the bible concerning the argument of Moses body(Jude vs 9). Why do u think oda writers of d old testament omitted that?! If you can answer that, it might help you settle scores that God used divine revelation to inspire most of His bible writers.
Still my Point, why are you not using some of the books the apostles used to teach? Who omitted it from your old testament?

Jude was guarded by God's spirit to write the bible, wheter he got the prophecy from a book or through divine revelation, the Scriptures dont say. We totally accept what the bible say as Christians, neither do we add or subtract.
Jude did not write the bible, Jude wrote a letter which is one of the books the Church has decided to keep in the bible. He quoted another book that is not in what we have as bible today. Others wrote letters too, but the Catholic church decided not to include them, guided of course by the Holy Spirit....mind you they were honoring Mary at the time..., yet that book you call bible and it's now your sole authority. Even though the book itself tells you that the church is the "Pillar and ground of truth" 1 Tim 3:15.

The Bible is inspired of God. It is not the property of any man nonetheless the Catholic church (2nd Tim 3:16-17). That is why earlier attempts to destroy it by man has failed, even those made by the Catholic church.
Stop saying what you don't know. How many letters and manuscripts were picked from different places and at what time? Who decided to keep the book of James in the bible and remove Barnabas? Jude quoted the book of Enoch in Jude 1:14, who said the book of Enoch should not be part of the bible? Or did Jude quote an uninspired book? Yet Jude is in the bible. The earlier you know that the church under the guidance of the Holy Spirit as promised by Jesus Jn 14:26, gave those particular books in the bible it's authority to be what it is, the better.

Clement of Alexandria, He died in 215AD

"In this way is he [the true Christian] always pure for prayer. He also prays in the society of angels, as being already of angelic rank, and he is never out of their holy keeping; and though he pray alone, he has the choir of the saints standing with him [in prayer]" [A.D. 208]).

Origen....Died in 232AD

"But not the high priest [Christ] alone prays for those who pray sincerely, but also the angels . . . as also the souls of the saints who have already fallen asleep" (Prayer 11 [A.D. 233]).

Cyril of Jerusalem...Bishop of Jerusalem. Died in 386AD

"Then [during the Eucharistic prayer] we make mention also of those who have already fallen asleep: first, the patriarchs, prophets, apostles, and martyrs, that through their prayers and supplications God would receive our petition . . . " (Catechetical Lectures 23:9 [A.D. 350]).

Augustine....Bishop of Hippo. Died in 430.

"A Christian people celebrates together in religious solemnity the memorials of the martyrs, both to encourage their being imitated and so that it can share in their merits and be aided by their prayers" (Against Faustus the Manichean [A.D. 400]).

Christianity EtcRe: Catholic Priest Says Homosexuality Is Gift From God by Syncan(m): 6:30am On Jul 05, 2015

The view I follow on homosexuality .

The Bible does not promote
prejudice against people.
However, its view of homosexual acts is clear.
“Do not practice
homosexuality, having sex
with another man as with a
woman. It is a detestable sin. --Leviticus 18:22.

As part of the Mosaic Law, this
prohibition was one of many
moral laws given specifically to
the nation of Israel. Even so, the commandment expresses God’s view of homosexual acts, whether by Jews or non-Jews, when it says: “It is a detestable thing.”

Those Gods view change for christians later on ?
These question is important as christians are not under the mosaic law and are not obligated to carry out its laws.

Consider the following scripture:

"24 So God abandoned them
to do whatever shameful
things their hearts desired. As
a result, they did vile and
degrading things with each
other’s bodies. 25 They traded
the truth about God for a lie.
So they worshiped and served
the things God created instead
of the Creator himself, who is
worthy of eternal praise!
Amen. 26 That is why God
abandoned them to their
shameful desires. Even the
women turned against the
natural way to have sex and
instead indulged in sex with
each other. 27 And the men,
instead of having normal
sexual relations with women,
burned with lust for each
other. Men did shameful things
with other men, and as a result
of this sin, they suffered within
themselves the penalty they
deserved.”— Romans 1:24 - 27.

Here homosexual acts is described as "shameful".

This is what the scriptures said those who practise the act , along with other shameful and malicious sins deserve

" 32 They know God’s justice requires that those who do these things deserve to die, yet they do them anyway. Worse yet, they encourage others to do them, too."

Are we christians required to carry out this justice on behalf of God?. The answer is no .

while the Bible does not condemn those who struggle with homosexual tendencies, it
in no way condones giving in to those tendencies, whether they are the result of genetics or they stem from some other source.

"21 I have discovered this
principle of life—that when I want to do what is right, I inevitably do what is wrong.
22 I love God’s law with all my
heart. 23 But there is another
power e within me that is at
war with my mind. This power
makes me a slave to the sin
that is still within me. 24 Oh,
what a miserable person I am!
Who will free me from this life
that is dominated by sin and
death? 25 Thank God! The
answer is in Jesus Christ our
Lord. So you see how it is: In
my mind I really want to obey
God’s law, but because of my
sinful nature I am a slave to
sin." -- Romans 7:21-25

"27 I discipline my body like an
athlete, training it to do what it
should. Otherwise, I fear that
after preaching to others I
myself might be disqualified -- 1 Corinthians 9:27

Instead, the Bible offers
practical assistance and
encouragement to help
individuals to win the fight
against homosexual practices.

What Is God’s Will for People
With Homosexual Desires?
The Bible assures us that God’s will is that “all sorts of men should be saved and come to an accurate knowledge of truth.” ( 1 Timothy 2:4)

Though the Bible disapproves of homosexual acts, it does not encourage hatred of
homosexuals.
God’s view of homosexuality
cannot be watered down. At
1 Corinthians 6:9, 10, the Bible
clearly states that “men who lie with men” are included in those who “will not inherit God’s kingdom.” But verse 11 adds the comforting thought: “And yet that is what some of you were. But you have been washed clean, but you have been sanctified, but you have been declared righteous in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ and with the spirit of
our God.”

Clearly, those who sincerely
desired to worship God on his
terms were warmly welcomed
into the early Christian
congregation. The same is true
today for all honesthearted ones who seek God’s approval—not by reinterpreting the Bible—but by bringing their lives into harmony with it.

Other questions that might be asked :
Does the Bible discriminate
against people with
homosexual desires?—
1 Timothy 2:4.

Is it possible to abstain from
homosexual acts?—
1 Corinthians 6:9-11.

Shouldn’t Christians respect all people, regardless of their
sexual orientation?
--1 Peter 2:17)
— Matthew 7:12.

How should members of the congregation who are found to partake in homosexual acts to be treated. ?
Mt 18:15-17
1Co 5:5, 11, 13

What will happen to the congregation if this is not done.
Re 2:5
1Co 5:5, 6.
2Co 2:10, 11

Good it has caught ur interest, ill reply both you and him here.

My question was on what the bible say about homosexuals, expecially those who practice homosexuality.
I realised later by his answer that someone who is not a Christian or who has a wrong view about christianity would/might answer the question in a wrong way which will thing is right due to his own understanding of the bible.
I had a vague understanding of his reply but I do understand the direction of the reply, That's why I added "if that's only what the bible says" and "christians" in my next reply to him.
If he does not know the mindset I used in asking the question , at least you can now realise that I'm asking about what the bible says to christians on how to handle homosexuality and how God views such acts.

He replied by posting lev 20:13 which says "kill them " and rom 1:32 which says they deserve death.

Now what is my view on w hat the bible say about homosexuality. This I will state in my next post, kindly hold on for a while ok

Twisting what I said may make you feel good but it doesn't help you at all.
Jesus gave an example of how to pray, that is what He was asked,

Our Father who art in Heaven....We pray to the Father
Hallowed be thy name.... we acknowledge His Holyness
Thy Kingdom come....we show we long for his kingdom
Thy will de done on earth as it is in heaven...we acknowledge He is in charge
Give us this day our daily bread....we ask Him for our needs
forgive us our trespasses as we forgive our debtors...we ask for forgiveness of sins, we don't ask man.
lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil....ask his protection
etc.

I say again the psalmist asked the angels and other Heavenly beings to praise God,
he didn't ask them to praise God for Him, the psalmist is very capable of doing that himself.
Since Jesus did not pray "Our Father" in the garden, so he didn't pray abi? SMH. We that say "our father" nko? You start to count how many we say in order to decide if the number was ok...or we have to add more.

Aha, at bold, No he didn't, he was teaching them in Sunday school or Catechism class to Praise God. Lol. Or reminding them maybe....lest they forget.

Yeah, and was he praying?
