GREAT!! |
Abeg @MODS, I want to know if it is now the new policy of your 'royal highnesses' not to take threads on the on-going Privatization programme in the power sector to the frontpage, lol?. At least 4 threads on PHCN, yet none have be considered 'worthy' enuf for frontpage, WHY??...Okay, to be serious can you guys abeg consider this thread for frontpage, and plz put threads that furnish us on the current info on the Prvatization programme on the FP as much as you guys can, ABEG; it is very important to some of us, as I believe it is to the nation. https://www.nairaland.com/1135009/fg-finally-commences-winding-up |
@Mods move this info to the frontpage abeg. peeps need to be kept abreast on the state of the on-gong Privatsation programme |
manny4life: Please, I'm totally lost. Can someone explain how the Manitoba company will handle the Transmission, I mean are they responsible for the upgrades of transmission... aka will they be providing the funds or the govt is and they are just managing? I mean, how is the structure because I'm totally confused.1st off, Manitoba will be in charge of TCN's finances though accountable to a board (which has not be set up yet). On yr specific questn d TCN, just like odas in d new power chain (gas producers, bulk trader, Gencos, Discos and of course TCN), wud share significant amount from d new tariff structure (MYTO) with they are expectd to run d company and mk certain transmission lines investments and upgrade. But dis source wud be very inadequate considering d HUGE investments needed in d Transmission lines nationwide now and going 4ward, such dat Govt (which anyways is still the owner of TCN) wud still hv to continue significant capital funding of Transmission lines (we are already seeing dis in d 2013 budget where govt increasd funding for Transmissn while decreasing same for Generatn and Distributn which are bn privatisd). Still, these 2 sources wud not bn adequate so d company have to be Reformd, ran professionally and is BANKABLE with predictable cash-flows such that it can get fund from both Internal lenders (eg tru Infrastruction Bonds) and External lenders- this is why it was extremely important that d TCN bn giving to an internationally sound Management Contractor (like Manitoba) and for the introductn of d new MYTO tariff structure......... Any Power expert wud tell you that Transmission is d Weakest yet d most Critical link in d on going Power sector reform and value chain |
Na wa o !! If dis was about a phony 'international' body saying dat Nigeria was d Worst in d World in any field, d @MODS wud hv taken Fast to d Frontpage and the thread wud hv gone to at least 3 pages by now with all kinds and manner of 9ja bashings possible..... Nigerians I fear una o, lol |
Dino should have been more careful in his utterance. I find his words in both tweets Inappropriate ... I'm still one of his admirers all the same...
You are one of Dino's admirers?....dat says a lot about you |
'Rose, the president is very intelligent and smarter than many people know'...No, Mr former NSA sir, GEJ is 'clueless' and 'weak' and 'retarded', at least na so sm NLanders dey talk.......*i laugh plenty laughs* |
GOOD... Labour issues resolvd; Manitoba to be paid commencement fee dis week... The privatisatn process shld happen as quickly as yesterday abeg |
'Large rice farms are springing nationwide with many having their own mills and clusters of outgrowers. Today, we have 14 integrated mills operating fully by private sector. And 11 large mills are under installation or rehabilitation and are expected to come under full operation by March 2013'...... I love dis part; that is exactly what am talking about- REAL EVIDENCE OF WORK DONE. Coming from Min Adesina and his team (arguably d most performing in d Cabinet), no surprises... |
When are dese workers leaving that place.... |
Very Good development indeed ..this is for a stock market that has bn bleeding badly since 2008/2009. The significant improvements again undascores the increasing Investors confidence in d Nigerian economy. I like d part where it was startd that d improvement was in all sectors of d index, not just d usual banking sector....... Selfishly though, thank God my stock values are improving, lol |
This is VERY GOOD in m view. This is what I am talking about.. Excellent decision Aregbe.. |
SO GEJ is now '.. extremely ruthless', no longer 'weak' and 'clueless'. Wondaful!! That is a just wondaful 'discovery' (sorry, i meant Progression).. *I laugh many laughs*..... |
@MOD, thanks for bringing this @OP's thread to the frontpage finally. The important point I think should be here is that most of the projects going on in main sectors of the economy/national life (rails, power, inland waterways, dams, roads etc) normally take time before completion cos of the 'natural' lag time; and that it is very unfair for some peeps (either HATERS, politicians, or just a cautious Nigerian who understandably is eager to see changes as quickly as possible) to take advantage of this LAG period and bad-mouth GEJ who is doing real work (as far as I know) to clear some of the massive MESS he inherited. Some persons on this very forum just some few weeks ago were cursing both GEJ and the Aviation minister to high heavens and trying to belittle the Remodeled airports already completed cos according to them the airports didnt have Alternative power supply, the runways were not lighted at night, and the airports were not fenced. When some of us here tried informing them that these oda tins (which previous govts failed to do by the way) were on going, they including us in the curse-game. This was just so few weeks ago.... I urge people (if you are the fair type that is) to at least familiarize yourself AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE with the projects that are on-going (and believe me they are MANY and are in very important aspects of national life), and then after that you may criticize if so wish, hopefully BY PUTTING THE GOVT OFFICIALS AND THE CONTRACTORS ON THE TOES IN ORDER THAT THE PROJECTS BE COMPLETED. The camera-phone in your hands can be a powerful tool to hold Govt to account, but you have to know what to criticize 1st before you would be able to criticize fairly and to your own INTEREST- and i hope its the INTEREST of Nigeria. Once again, kudos Aviation Min and NAMA; hope you do more esp the fencing of airports and making sure that Nigeria airlines are ran more profitably and professionally. |

gboss4sure: No country's police is the best, what happened in CT was a security lapse and its clear.Security lapse that hv happend how many times dis yr? Hv u by chance bn keeping a tap on d No of such mindless mass killings in America dis yr alone? How many times does a tin hv to happen b4 it stops bn 'lapses'? |
linearity: The US constitution allow citizen to keep and bear arms, Police can do nothing about it.Why must you be allowd to bear arms at all? Are d guns meant to be toys? Why wud people see d need to buy sophisticatd arms to protect themselves if they had faith in d State and its security apparatus (police, FBI etc) to protect them like we seem to bliv here in Nigeria? That i bliv was d guy's point.....all d talk of 'Constitutnal rights' et al is just long tori.. |
Lordave: I thought they said their police is one of the bests in the world?ANOTHER GBAM!!! |

wales: Giant of africa indeed. Niger Republic did it seamlessly while some of the politicians in abuja have refineries outside nigeria |
wales: Giant of africa indeed. Niger Republic did it seamlessly while some of the politicians in abuja have refineries outside nigeriaWhy did u give a fuller account of d Nigerien Downstream sector? Do you know hw much Niger Republic sell d fuel? Niger built a refinery with d help of d Chinese and it is working cos they run a deregulatd downstream sector. Deregulate Nigeria's downstream, and refineries wud flock Nigeria; dont deregulate, and expect any private investor to build refineries in yr dreams (Or so it seems)..... By d way, no where in d article did the govt say 'they hv abandond d building of d 3 refineries', dat came directly from d azz of d punch writer. My impressn is dat d projects are stalling cos d Private investors who are supposd to collaborate wit d govt on dis are developing cold feet.. |
