I would advise you put in extra efforts and submit clear copies of your husband's id
I've been in similar situation. I didn't sign the waiver form but waited till my husband was able to send clearer copies of his id

Unclear copies of documents is one of the reasons for visa denial

Hi my DIYers, I tried following the guide her to DIY but I discovered my charge is different from the one I'm seeing here.
The charges came up to 17k(I've not clicked to pay yet) for 32pages.That's my first worry.
2ndly, I'm actually applying to renew and also do change of name. I tried calling the contact number and they said all change of name and change of data is done in Abuja. But I also heard that change of name due to marriage can be done anywhere.
Has anybody gone the DIY for change of name, kindly assist.

I did change of name DIY. Got my passport on friday. 17k is for old passport not new enhanced one. I think ikoyi is better from reviews(though did mine in alausa)

There is booklet. Mine was issued last week friday. I knew no one there and i paid nobody. Go and see the PCO if you have issues.

No. U need ur state of origin cert. Go to ur state office and get it. U get it that day

Pls how long does it take between capturing to collection. In alausa and in ikoyi. I want to know because i captured january 29th in alausa and till now i'm hearing it's not ready.

I was alausa yesterday for capturing, you won't believe I couldn't find my file....later around 3pm, I was told my file is still in confirmation/verification room ....after a week....d whole system is rigged...

I was told to come back on Friday but I will wait for another 7 days , that is when I will show them my madness if my file is not yet ready..

*Is it a crime to pay online? If they don't fancy the online stuff, they should remove it from the official site ..

First thing they will ask you is (is it self processing) just say YES and watch how the officials will leave you like you don't exist at all.....some will even tell you to leave the office and stay outside,trust me they won't attend to you no more unless you Roger them.....

I almost got angry yesterday.....This country is messed up....

I will go back next Wednesday to see if they are truly crazy ...

Go to the asst comptroller aiyegbusi office in alausa downstairs to report if its not ready. Also contact nigimmigration on twitter ahead and report them. Let them know u will drag headoffice into it if they dont do the right thing and watch tgem rearrange themselves.

In that alausa office they capture upstairs and downstairs.
When i collected my file upstairs one of the NIS officials just told me to join the queue upstairs. I didn't even know it was vip till later.
So for anyone using alausa, just stroll there and join d queue quietly. U'll see them sitting on the chairs there. No one was asking VIP or no VIP lol.

No. Mine was change of name due to marriage.

So i did my capturing at alausa today. My change of name had been approved long b4 and i even got a message to come last week but i couldn't go till today. I submitted 13th of january.
Process was smooth except for those NIS officials that kept slotting people in.
I noticed something....at the end of the day, whether u do it urself or pay someone, the queue for capturing was the same. No one even asked such questions today and i captured at the 'vip' section. I give all glory to God for the favour.

Next step will b collection.

Im Still it. I applied on the website and submitted on 13th.
I submitted copies of my newspaper piblication, affidavit, marriage certificate, nin, application form,form, then about 2 or 3 other forms i got there. U also need data page of ur husband 's passport. Write a letter for application of change of name to the comptroller general citing ur reason and old passport number. Then passport photos. Also data page of ur old passport. Make 2 copies of everything.
Im waiting to be called for capturing because they said they have to send it to abuja. Also looking for someone that has done so i can know how long it takes

You don’t have kobo? Don’t pay them kobo then, just wait until after ten working days, then you can go for collection, I did mine on Friday, also waiting on mine. If after 10 working days you still don’t get it, you can make a complaints via twitter, if you know the name of the officer that demanded for 10k, you can report him/her.

Yes. I think its to comptroller or someone. I didnt memorize the details of the letter sorry.
but she will add her old passport number and apply for change of name based on marital grounds.

It is really, I went for my Interview/capturing on Friday... and I was attended well my the servicom lady, maybe because twitter directed me straight to the PROs office.
On getting to the PRO’s office she summoned for the lady at the servicom who then attended to me.
But you see those people at the long room. MAD O!!!
No one wanted to attend to me, they were all jumping around carrying one white file or the other, I almost cried, when I was going to raise my voice, one of the officer over the counter (a lady) started shouting too, “you better calm down, sheybi you decided to do it on your own, ehen, better calm down, because you haven’t even seen anything, yen yen yen”
Kai ... I almost cried.
Then in the capturing room, they kept on jumping the line and slotting people in, it was so annoying. They even had VIPs.

I started to regret doing things the right way TBH, NIS should have an account here on Nairaland, so they can read people’s encounter. I felt really bad that day!
Doing things the right way sucks here in Nigeria and NIS officers completely promotes corruption.

Dont feel bad dear. U saved a good sum plus we must not allow ourselves be duped all the time. Dont mind those people. I'm applying for change of name. Submitted today at alausa. When i asked the man for how long it will take he got upset and started shouting. Kept referring to the fact that i did mine online etc.
I wasn't even intimidated. I just looked at his name tag and memorised the name. God is on my side so they can't try nonsense. Anybody who has done change of name shoul pls reach out so ill know how it goes.

She needs 3 passports
She will need to fill application letter and type an application form for change of name. Then get a file. The business centers around there should be able to help with that. She can check online if its there. She also needs photocopy of her husbands passport.
