PoliticsRe: APC, G-7 Govs Behind My Travail– Stella Oduah Alleges Over N255m Cars Scandal by takedat(m):
Mr Datti and other officials are making a great profession of sheer and rank incompetence. In their press releases are nothing but dumb and conflicting lies, and also filled with stench of arrogance and innuendos. The S.A to the minister says one thing today, the NCAA says another tomorrow and Mr Datti continues with his tomfoolery and shameless lies. I am ashamed these civil servants are being paid with tax payers fund.

This administration has mastered the art of shielding away from her errors of commission or omission, and always looking for a 'fall guy' outside of government whenever the need arise. When it became obvious that Nigerians are not being swayed by their ethnic appeals and blackmails, they've have resorted to the use of the opposition. As usual, blame it on the cabals, or the opposition, or Yorubas.
PoliticsRe: APC To Boycott National Dialogue by takedat(m):
We must hold APCs feet to the fire.

The people of this country have repeatedly demanded for SNC and is now officially granted.

We understand that its process is not the best and moreover its mandate is also wrong but as a policy, the decision to move forward on the SNC is a good one. There are two things APC can do but what it must not do is kill the debate and realization of this policy.

1. APC need to publish its official proposal for how the SNC should be structured and implemented.

2. We the people of Nigeria, are calling on APC to collaborate with PDP and sort through the kinks and both parties, ruling and opposition, must come up with an amicable interest in how to press forward and conduct a SNC.

The people own SNC, not PDP, not APC and definitely not NASS.

APC need to tread carefully so it does not on account of politicising the SNC loose its popularity and favor with the people.
What is being proposed is a national conference and not a 'sovereign' national conference. A conference with limited powers and limited autonomy. Isn't there a need for a community/ethnic conference before a national conference?
PoliticsRe: APC To Boycott National Dialogue by takedat(m):
awodman: They are not needed in that conference..no political party should set foot in the proposed conference.Pls Femi okoronmu and his committee should take note..

APC bunch of self centered politicians whose only interest is to get into Aso rock by hook or crook.
All politicians are self-centered. If you ask many Nigerians if 'the will want the outcome/recommendations of the conference be subject to debate and approval of the National Assembly. The resounding answer will be a 'No'. Why should we subject the resolution/recommendations of the conference to those, whose primary duty it is to represent us and make beneficial laws but have failed us, those whose collective greed and misrule are the reasons why Nigeria is teetering on the abyss of near bankruptcy?

What Nigerians want is a Conference, whose decisions, can in the final analysis only be ratified by a popular referendum. Yes, the NA will make the enabling law to kick start the conference but the outcome should be subject to the approval of Nigerians, where sovereignty truly resides. It means that its powers are subject only to the outcome of a popular free and fair referendum. Anything aside from that will be a 'CON'ference(a political jamboree and an economic bazaar).

The resolution/recommendations of the conference, public hearings etc subject to a National Assembly debate and approval is the same as 'constitutional amendment'. You folks should stop raising the expectations of the people, and at the end dash such expectations.

Jonathan has created a gigantic factory for the recycling of expired products, that is, those who should have been consigned to the garbage can of history and living a life of ignominy. Those who have not offered Nigeria any tonic for greatness in their various stewardships in the past, whose incompetence is legendary and a diametric public knowledge. Ali's incompetence in handling his brief as the 'federal commissioner of education, led to the 'Ali Must Go' riots of 1978 that closed universities for months and had some students killed for protesting against fee hikes. 35 years later, he is appointed as the Chairman, Board of Universities Commission. More like insulting our collective memories.

PoliticsRe: Stella Oduah Must Not Be Removed by takedat(m):
This is the sad commentary of Nigeria. @Op and his collaborators are bent on using ethnic blackmail to whitewash a soiled reputation, infantile propaganda and outright lies to downplay downright sleaze. Isn't Air transportation for the rich and elite? How many Nigerians fall into that category? I am sure the location of an airport is the least of their concern, both Igbos and Yorubas. @Op and other ethnic cheerleaders should continue supporting malfeasance while the likes of Oduah continue to push Nigerians down the ladder of poverty and deprivation.

Nutcase! Nothing stops Jonathan from probing and prosecuting past and present leaders who have plunged Nigeria into this mess with their excessive greed and wastefulness. The deal to procure those cars was initiated long before Fola became the DG of NCAA. It was initiated by Nkemakolam, who was the acting DG then, and he also signed the papers on behalf of Fola. This does not exonerate Fola for timidly consenting to this fraud when he could have stood his ground. The Board of NCAA, including Fola and Nkemakolam, and the Minister must all be brought to book.

PoliticsRe: NCAA Bought N225m Cars For Operations by takedat(m):
Another day, Another story. Out of desperation to justify this malfeasance and whitewash the minister's image, the ministry have been caught in a web of lies and contradictions. Joel Obi, the media assistant to the minister, said the 2 cars were for the minister i.e one for official use and the other as back-up while NCAA claims its for operational use. Why can't they just synchronize their lies instead of this continuous shameful display of folly and falsehood?

Do these 'aviation-related foreign dignitaries' get to ride in a $800,000 armoured vehicle in their own countries? No responsible government would shell out $1.6million on two cars for some 'foreign dignitaries' when there is pervasive poverty and unemployment in the land.

This is when I expect Nigerian journalists, civil society groups and lawyers to test the Freedom of Information law. They can request for the details of transaction, where about and display of the cars from the NCAA by invoking the FoI. The authorities will frustrate of their effort, but at least, Nigerians will know how effective is the law and its compliance.

Why not try to visit an optician if you have reading difficulties? Or is it a case of Dyslexia? SR and all others who followed up on the story all reported that both cars were purchased at an exorbitant price of N225million.

Truth is treason in the Empire of Falsehood. This revelation speaks volume of the moral rot in our political sphere. How do we intend to curb mismanagement and graft in the public sector when whistle blowers are often targeted? Why do we have a culture that rewards malfeasance and honor charlatans, but punishes the truth teller? This is a case of manifest impunity and utter disregard for the people, instead of the Ministry to try to convince and justify the outrageous amount(over-pricing) the cars were purchased, the ministry is now on a man hunt.

Do these 'aviation-related foreign dignitaries' get to ride in a $800,000 armoured vehicle in their countries? No! Little wonder Africa is referred to as a Bongo Bongo land!
PoliticsAviation Ministry Declares War On Man Who Allegedly Leaked Info On N255m Cars by takedat(op):
Nigeria's Aviation Ministry may have decided to go after its official that allegedly leaked the information of the purchase of two armoured vehicles for the minister, Stella Oduah.

This was hinted by Folayele Akinkuotu, The Director General of The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority, NCAA, at a press conference at the ministry's headquarters in Abuja. Mr. Akinkuotu said Nicholas Edwards, a staff of the ministry who allegedly leaked the information to journalists, is now on the run.

He also condemned the leak that exposed the purchase of the two armoured cars for N225million. He said the two vehicles, purchased for N225million, are meant to serve both the Aviation Minister, Stella Oduah, and aviation-related foreign dignitaries.

The ministet has come under attacks by Nigerians and civil society organizations with many calling for her sack.

Reports say Mrs Oduah compelled the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority, NCAA, an agency under her supervision, in a presumed case of corruption, conflict of interest, and abuse of office, to procure the cars for her with public funds.

Documents show that the transaction to procure the cars started last June. Things were then sped up with the cars delivered on August 15.

In a letter dated August 13, 2013, J.D Nkemakolam, the former Acting Managing Director of the NCAA, sent a letter to the Managing Director of Coscharis Motors asking the company to deliver two BMW 760 armoured vehicles to the agency based on a pro-forma invoice dated June 25, 2013 at the cost of N127, 575, 000 ($796, 846. 21) each. The total amount of the two black BMW Li HSS vehicles, with chassis numbers WBAH41050DW68032 and WBAHP41010DW68044 respectively, was N255, 150,000, or $1,593,687. 31.

Gulak is a well known pottymouth who will eventually find himself in a Gulag. I doubt he received authorization from the President to speak on #StellaGate saga. Speaking in support of this fiscal scandal only means that the President is corruption and mismanagement compliant. The President in the 2012 budget proposed N280million to acquire 2 mercedes benz official cars, one for himself and the other for the Vice President before he jettisoned the idea due to huge public outcry. I absolutely find no sense in him approving 2 official cars(one as official car and the other for back up) at the cost of N225million for a minister except he is trying to tell Nigerians that Stella's safety is more important than his. If truly she got the FEC approval aiding this financial recklessness and fiscal scandal, then GEJ is all blusters and no balls, all hype but no substance, wastrel leader.

Recycling of falsehood is the order of the day. This was reported by some mushroom news site in 2011. Surprisingly, from 2011 till date, I know that Fashola's official vehicle has been a Range Rover and not a Toyota Prado. That alone defeats the authenticity of this story.

PoliticsRe: The Minister Of Aviation Messed Up But... by takedat(m):
Sincere 9gerian: Are you listening to yourself at all? NCAA can buy vehicles for directors in the agency but they cant buy for their boss? Dont you know the minister of aviation is the boss of the DG of NCAA? Why then do you turn to blame the minister when air crashes occur? Why dont you blame NCAA? Can the minister take the blame when things go wrong if she has no administrative control over NCAA? Does administrative control not also involve management of finances? If we go by your logic the minister should have no blame what so ever if crashes occur since the agencies can do whatever they like with their funds. NCAA only has regulatory autonomy. When it comes to administration, the minister of aviation sits over NCAA. The minister has EVERY RIGHT to order NCAA to buy vehicles for the smooth running of the sector including vehicles that will facilitate the work of the minister.
Did you even bothered to read this crap before posting it? NCAA only as regulatory autonomy? NCAA has financial, administrative and operational autonomy. NCAA used to be a department under the ministry before the Civil Aviation Act granted it an autonomous status. It enjoys a self accounting status that it does not present its budget to the NA unlike the ministry. The minister does not appoint the DG, rather the president does. The minister is blamed for air mishap because the ministry is responsible for 'formulation and management of government aviation policies. Her job is to perform supervisory role on the agency and not to be involved in the day to day administration. She isn't the chairman of the NCAA Board neither is she a member. If we have to go by your warped reasoning, it means the president can also order any agency of government to provide him an official car since he is the head of government? Even the president cannot constitutionally order the NNPC to procure whatsoever for his official use. The presidency has its own budget.
