Programming / Re: For Django Developer by Taofeekdboy(m): 3:16pm On Oct 11, 2020
After a long time working, I looked at how Django and React can work together in creating real time application, Django channels would have been a better option but as I am too busy at work and its tediousness is second to none, I opted for pusher and it is easy to setup and work with.
Tech used are Django, React, HTML, CSS and fontawesome

There are courses on design patterns, if you cannot afford the courses on udemy, you can watch YouTube videos of Mosh Hamedani and others on design patterns and structural programming. There is a lot of difference when writing your own project and working for a client or production environment.. I learnt that in a hard way.

You arent a newbie ... are you?
For a newbie . . ., I'll advise they try to rack up hours working in a production environment. Coding in your bedroom , doing a todo app is way drastic in change than when coding for production and enterprise uses cases .e.g ur custom tic-tac-toe app might not require custom domain or workspace implementation, but for productions, customers will require it. This single task alone will take you a to a whole new level of computing and it's gang of wahala that it comes with. Then when you must have racked up quite some experience, you start thinking as a product engineer and not a software engineer. A SE can write code, but a PE can deliver a fantastic product that has a market and passes customer validation.
Building a product as a SE alone is a recipe for disaster, it takes a more than writing codes. At this stage, you should try do one of two things for yourself. The first few might fail, dont give up. The next one will be a banger !!!
you have said it all brother... Most importantly, learn how to structure your code.. Structural programming is always advisable because it improves your coding ability and as you have said, working on production environment requires a good knowledge of design patterns as well. Working with other devs or senior devs will get you there.

yes, coming from drf makes it easier because u will have understood the concepts which is the most important thing, but drf takes care of all the manual work, e.g I use permission based class and add an auth library at the settings which will depend on drf token table, drf is very easy if u are using class based view. jwt is easier than password but when I was doing MERN, i read that the token doesn't expire and if another person access ur device they can easily copy the token. I built a personalized API auth for flask I use decorators to make sure it can be used by anyone. i might release to make developer more lazy! lol. why did u switch to node.js, I would like to know I am very u will miss Django orm, except if u use mongoose
No, I didn't leave Django and I can't leave it, I am just adding to my skills.
As you have said, drf makes it easy but also, it inherits most of his authentication from Django authentication, so whenever I want a custom authentication, I set a custom authentication which I can use.
As for node js, JWT in node js has expiry date same as using any frontend Javascript frameworks, as cx9 said, the problem comes in when you try to invalidate a token, as a MERN stack, you can set a function in your application that will invalidate the token after the expiry of the token, though some do it with cron but I do it usually with a function and it will automatically log you when the token expires... It takes time and consistency tho...

I have my forum running on AWS and I do things manually, though I use supervisor instead of pm2 cause i am using python.

but I don't touch nginx

I push the code to github

then I ssh into the server

I go to my Ubuntu root directory
I activate my venv
cd to the project
pull the new changes
if there is any change in staticfiles, I recollect them
lastly, I restart my supervisor

and my forum is updated
this does not take up to 10min of my time. maybe because I am the only one writing code on the repo

though I am not a devops engineer but I will like to know how to automate with CI/CD in d future.

I started with node js. but I don't do node js anymore cos of it's callback, hell to debug, immature framework like express js though it is getting better, difficult orm like mongoose, to authenticate na war in nodejs. well some of u might say it not that difficult, but as a self taught learning from free materials, it is very difficult. the only advantage I missed in nodejs is it events and asynchronous native which I can simulate in python with asyncio. in short if I didn't switch to python on web I would have stayed with reactjs with hooks! lol. I prefer flask for APIs and small SSR site, Django for big SSR site like my forum, though I can still write APIs or SSR site with ejs or handlebars in nodejs, cos I spent more time with that js runtime than flask or django
From a Django developer as well, I have been working closely with node js recently and if you are coming from Django rest framework then node js and express will be something really easy to work with provided your Javascript understanding is very solid. Based on the authentication, I work closely with JWT because passport authentication to me is a little bit tedious and working with MERN stack makes it easy to work with JWT authentication. I will release a project I am working on it soon.

TRUTH WILL ALWAYS WIN IN ALL SITUATIONS

It was one pathetic period for me just because of the love for my country people.

I was attacked, banned from making comments, the pieces of information I typed were removed by moderator. He called me a liar at will without having the conscience to apologize when the TRUTH I typed eventually unfolded. Even some people that came to ask for information privately and I was helping them came openly to attack me. Such is life. I leave all of them to their consciences to judge, if they have any.

Do not blame Nigerian government but the few Nigerians who have made UAE to change their policies which is currently having negative effects on others. As I typed, another building known as Al Nadha 2 Tower, in Sharjah was busted by the Police two nights ago for the same sets of crimes I raised before. This is a building of about 15-storey. Why can't they change their bad behaviours? More are still coming. UAE would not tolerate any form of criminal activity. The country is planning to be the best tourist attraction in the world only for some criminal elements to put stain on it.

It is only a privilege that UAE government has granted to all to convert Tourist Visa to Work/Resident Permit from within the country and if that is withdrawn or moderated, the country has not done anything wrong to affect Diplomatic Relations with Nigerian government. It is a normal standard across the globe to obtain a Work Permit at the Embassy of any Country you intend to work in when you are still in your country, not when you have traveled with Tourist Visa with the intention of converting to Work Permit while inside that country. This is highly dependent on the type of Diplomatic Relations between the countries involved with exceptional cases. Since Nigerian government does not give the privilege to convert Tourist Visa to Work Permit, and UAE government is granting that favour to her citizens, why do you think Nigerian government will raise alarm?

Should Nigerian government raise alarm about the current Visa situation in UAE, then the privilege enjoyed by Nigerians would totally be withdrawn. It will be based on RECIPROCITY. It will be the same Visa policy that my citizens enjoy in your country is what your citizens will enjoy in my country. Kalas.

Let those with expired Tourist Visas use this period of amnesty to exit the country first, then plan your way back. It is HARD but BETTER for you to avoid fine or if you still want to travel to other developed countries in the future. I am aware of the ONE MONTH Visa extension going on but don't want to say anything for now.

There is no information yet for Work/Resident Permit Visa for now.

Let us be patient with UAE government, they are very responsive. They are trying to eliminate crimes committed daily by ALL nationalities at all cost in other to make the country safe for all and best tourist destination in the world.
That's Nigerians for you, they all want to castigate you and see you as enemy of progress when you try to explain the situations to them, they feel you don't want them to achieve their success here, those set of ppl come here and contribute to the nuisance they are committing before. Even, if they open the residency portal, Nigerians will still suffer to get jobs because of the damaged they have caused and still causing in this country. I tire for my country people.

You can learn a language basics in a week or so but the most important thing is how to apply them in real world application or scenerios. To be confortable with a language, it depends on you as well, the way you assimilate things but 6 months will take you to that place you want if you dedicate your time and resources but you keep learning it everyday.

Made me start regretting learning React. Anyway the learning never ends but if your goal is to get into a big company, it is better to learn C# and angular. Few people know it too sef.
Like I said, C# and angular are used in those companies because it is what they have been using since and it is very hard to transition from those stacks because of their big size and data.
Quora as big as they are, they are still using JQuery as their frontend development. But you see angular, I will tell you that React job openings will beat angular anyday anytime, even Vue is starting to gain more popularity than angular. Here, every frontend development job must include React. Please don't regret learning any stack because it will still be useful somewhere around. I will stick to python and React anyday, anytime.

But why do they tend to use angular as a frontend framework over other frameworks. In order to get a job that comes with visa sponsorship would you advise someone to learn c# or java.
well, based on my experience with job search, most of this big companies at times use more than one backend language, Facebook and the likes. Angular is popular among them also because angular is a very large Javascript framework and it is pre-built with its libraries unlike React that depends on third party libraries. Angular comes with typescript which some developers fancy about. The truth of the matter is that, if you are so good with angular, other frameworks will be shit to you. But learning curve in angular is thrice React learning curve I.e, it is hard to learn.
As to what to learn as the backend, learn one bro and be good with it, it does not matter if the job is not much but it will give you the leverage when there is job openings for the language. I'm into Python(Django), Java, as the backend but not viable in Nigeria job market because of PHP but I can't leave it for PHP as it's time is also coming and foreign companies are using it as well.

Exactly bros. From my experience this is what I have noticed.

Big enterprises. Angular as a front end framework with either java or c# on the backend.

Medium sized companies. React as a frontend framework with php/laravel on the backend

Startups. React/Vue and nodejs or PHP but mostly nodejs.

KPMG was hiring for programmers. It's all angular and c# stack. Libra motors is also hiring. C#. Abroad too is the same thing. Many big companies with the means to sponsor visas and pay big salaries use either java or c# on the backend and angular on the frontend.
The reason being that most big companies you see has been in place very long and most of them started with either Java or C#,. Net core technogies, so it is difficult to move away from that. My company is using. Net core stack and so on like that but new startups are now looking away from that... Giving rooms for other stacks.

I wanted to ask as well, why won't other Africans hate us, it is solely because we are using our dubious and criminal activities to affect them because they see Africans as bad people and Nigeria which suppose to be the role model for African countries is the head quarter of corruption. We keep saying if government is good, we shouldn't be here, UK, USA, Canada and many developed countries are here working as well, is their country not good.. I hate seeing it every time when people try to justify their actions because of the government, there are countries as well like Nigerians where the citizens behave very well whenever they go. UAE does not favor Africans as we all know but we keep making it worse, for the past weeks, Nigerians has been in crime section of the UAE media, we need to stop all this quick money syndrome, the quest to make money quickly will always lead to this criminal activities. Las Las we all suffer for it. Let's keep justifying their criminal acts.

It will print the statement because the print statement is at the end of if/else block, so no matter what the situation or output of your code, there will always be a print statement, one solution is to move the print statement to each of the elif block and remove it from if statement greater than 100. Meanwhile, this code has some bugs, there is no validation whatsoever, what if I input a string instead of a number, it will break your application, any inputation code requires input validation.

So if I may ask now how does what you just posted has to do with QATAR/UAE general visa enquiries? I know Nigerians do a lot out there, but we are not the only one, there is no country that doesn’t commit crime. Please let’s continue to talk about the things related to the topic in this trend, in order for us to help our fellow Nigerians, thank you for your comprehension.
If you don't mind me asking, Are you here in UAE? Because if you are here, you will understand the level of damages the name Nigeria has done to a lot of people. You cant even read gulf news and khaleej news in peace.
Justifying crimes that we are not only the countey commiting crimes is not so cool, you can't even mention your nationality without them castigating you, "you guys are thieves", We are the only African country with the most crimes here, any other African country commiting crime must have a Nigerian either as a ring leader or a member. We need to change our mentality, almost all the countries are rejecting us. Why will you come from your country and be constituting nuisance and height of it, cultism in another man's land. Well my message to intending comers, if you have an alternative, don't hesitate to explore it because here will be very hard for Nigerians soon as I am talking from experience. Nigerians are not being trusted anymore. So many calls for interviews but the nationality has become a stain.
We keep blaming our government, then using them to commit atrocities in other countries.
We need to change our mentality jare. If you know how many opportunities have missed because I am Nigerian, then you will understand my pain. I will drop the mic here.

Bosses them, abeg wetin be 'instance', can't find anything in the documentation about it

In any OOP language, when you create a class, then you can create a variable name to instantiate the class e.g

Class Dog :
Def ___init____(self, name, age):
self. name =name
self. age = age

So here you can instantiate the class dog like this

dog1 = Dog('bingo', 5)
dog2 = Dog('linzy', 2)

So dog1 and dog2 are both instance of the dog class. You can read more on classes on python to understand better.

Good morning my people,
Please i have a pressing question that needs urgent attention as it may save a lot of us(Nigerians in UAE on visit visa)here.
I work at DAMAC maison hotels and resorts business bay Dubai, just yesterday morning my manager summoned all Nigerian staff to a meeting only to inform us that he regrets to announce to us that our contract is going to be terminated at the end of this month(August) as the authorities has place a ban on all visas for Nigerians and could not proceed on our resident permit application.
But a Ugandan colleague who is in the security department advised us( Nigerians) that we should move to either of Sharjah or Abu Dhabi and try and get a job that since they are different
emirates they(Sharjah, Abu Dhabi) could still be processing visa(resident permits) for Nigerians.
So my question is;what the Uganda guy said is it true, could it be only the emirates of Dubai that put a ban on all visas for Nigerians?
Are they trying to renew your visa or just because they ban Nigerian visas they terminate your appointment. Is it that your visa will expire the end of the month?
And it is all emirates not only Dubai.

Thank God I just started I am going to give my time to learning python instead. Everyone is saying what I want to do can be achieved with python. It will make my life much easier men. Sending manual applications is tiring and we are meant to make our lives easier as programmers men.
As to my knowledge, PHP is a language of the web and its strength lies in web development and Python, C#, Java and Javascript can be applied in other areas such as data science, enterprise applications, mobile development.
Python is easy to learn and straightforward forward but some programmers do say the indentation and white space is a big NO for them in Python but I really prefer Python to Java because Java is too verbose for me.
Only two problems in python which are:
Slowness, but I haven't encountered it before but it should because it is a runtime language which compile everything at runtime.
Execution problem, python is a dynamic typed language and as such you won't get any error if you make a mistake on indentation error until execution time when you might have written hundreds lines of code.
I still prefer Python with the disadvantages and it's web framework is awesome. Django is a nice and superb python framework. You can check it out if you want to learn Python.
Goodluck brother.
