Bro. The topic is not about Nigerians abroad coming back to Nigeria or contributing to Nigeria. You have not answered the OP's concern. You are only bringing up epistles that does not relate to the topic... Are you saying the OP should stay back or travel out of this country? I have not had any experience of being an immigrant but I want to learn from you and others and that does not make me inferior(Mentality) or less patriotic... That the OP wants to travel out of the country does not make him less patriotic...

With all what I said, you can make it out that I’m advising OP to stay back in the country and try to establish his own business, it might not work out at first but with determination and faith, things will fall in place. Most Nigerians have good ideas and innovative but don’t have the means to carry out things but as soon as the opportunity set in, we tend to forget all that. Nothing is small, OP should start from somewhere, we can all make it anywhere plus the amount of money he is earning can sustain another business on a long run.

I The problem with Nigerians, criticical sense of judgement. Not all of us have the privilege of having capital to establish our ideas but when you are determined to make it happen, you source for capital and add value to yourself, then you can help your society.ere is no better future for my kids other than working hard, showing them how to give back to the society. Talking about Indians and co, mostly Indians are economic migrants, they migrate to another country, establish their business, improve the economy of host countries but same can’t be said about Nigerians. Indians, Lebanese and Chinese are trooping in to Nigeria to establish their various businesses here, I know that Nigeria situation is not that good but few of those people that is making it outside the country are not helping the situation also, coming back home to lavish money on frivolities, showing off, not to give back to the community. We hate to hear the truth even people outside the country doing drugs, scams and all sort are not left out, they can help their communities, at least their people will know they doing bad thing in a right way i.e Pablo Escobar until he became a terrorist.

My question is, Why did you leave Nigeria... With your sense of jingoism, you shouldn't have left Nigeria at all. Nobody ever said they wouldn't come back to Nigeria but how can we make it in Nigeria. The OP is one his 10,000 mates that earn 7million naira in a year... Most of us were born with no silver spoon and can’t make enough capital to start our various businesses but at the same time most prefer to be lazying around, be ranting, yelling at the government without making things happen. I left the country because I want to make things happen, gather enough money to start my business, not everyone is cool working for bosses, I want to be my own boss.

Nothing being worse than being a Nigerian with Naija mentality, Nigerians talk ill about their country whereas there are other countries worse than Nigeria but because their citizens cherish their country and wants to do anything to make the society a sane one and improve their standard of living make a difference. I’m outside the country also but my mind is made up after few years of working here, I’m going back to Nigeria to give back to the society, establish a business, it might not survive at first but with determination I hope it will be a success, that’s how it supposed to be but our Naija mentality is about desperation of making it big within short period of time and leaving the country for good. Hadn’t been the citizens of those countries we re moving to were also migrating and not coming back to add value to their communities, there won’t be anywhere to visit. Let’s change our mentality, you can always make a difference. With faith and determination, you can move mountains.

I don’t know why we find it so hard to check things online by ourselves, that’s why internet is there, for your need. As far I know, New Zealand and Canada are doing holiday working visa for some certain countries in which Nigeria is not part of it, so Canada can’t issue you a holiday working visa unless your agent is willing to spend your money at peppersoup joint, one thing about this agents is that they will say you don’t have to pay at the initial stage but they will get you interested and make it look real that they will now be requesting for little money, for your mind he is helping me and not requesting for a huge sum but at the end it will be a huge loss because agent always gain just like a thief. My advice for you is to go online and carry out research by yourself and DIY but no holiday working visa for Nigeria.

The problem is not to travel rather the proper way of Travelling, most of us wants to travel out of the country but with no proper reasearch, apart from Nigeria and some African countries, there is no country someone will go with visit/tourist visa and they will allow that person to work hence it is called illegal immigrant because it is not abiding with the rules of that visa. Either Europe or America let’s try, plan how to move there legally.

you re just speaking trash bro, the way Nigeria is organized is different from all the countries aforementioned, we based our lives and mode of living, when Nigeria was created, it was set like that which make it very hard for the three major tribes to get together. SA you are talking about, most of their citizens know to speak majority of the languages there and can communicate very well in any of the language they chose. Tanzania , Kenya, South Africa, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Lesotho, Swaziland to name some , made their own languages official languages. When will we get there, diversity is not a problem because most of these countries are as diverse as us if not more . Remember they also have race on top.of religion and tribes.

I will like to disagree with you on this, those countries you mentioned speak same language or majority of them speak the same language, take SA for example, majority speak Afrikaans and Swahili, same goes for Kenya, Zimbabwe and Botswana but Nigeria on the other hand, we have 3 major tribes in which we speak different language, so which language will they use as official language? Don’t let our hatred for Nigeria becloud our sense of reasoning. Blame this on the colonizers who merged three different tribes together because of their profits.

you re right, GDP is different from GDP per capita and also GNP. We might have highest GDP but our GDP per capita is very low, this is used to measure the wealth of a country, our population is at a disadvantage here, that’s why countries like Luxembourg, Qatar, Norway and UAE have high GDP per capita because of their population, the total population of the above four countries is not up to Kano’s population. So there is difference between large economy and best economy, we have the largest economy because of our population but we re not near best economy at all.

did I just read more than 200 countries, chai FYI, we have total number of 196 countries in the world as of now and America immigration rules and laws is very strict, they open free visa and VOA to their allies. One reason, Nigeria is strict with her immigration rules to foreigners also but on a second thought no country will allow pests to infest her dominion. So it is a loss loss for naija if they open their borders because many countries will reject to do the same.

He wants to visit South Africa and was hoping the naija passport would be visa free , and I told him that will be the day the government of South Africa would be sacked by the citizens with immediate effect . The news and comments speak volume about our current situation in Nigeria, how can we expect to have good leaders when the youths can’t verify, understand something before digesting it. A simple look at the video will show you the soldier with Dominican flag band on his arm which shows people from their neighboring country which is Haiti, Haitians are trying to smuggle theirselves to Dominican. Some of us think only African people are black not knowing most of the Caribbean people are also black. Nigeria can’t be any soon better with this attitudes and reasoning.

There are 2 guys we do same physical job together who have PhD from Egypt and Kenya and another lady with 3 M.Sc from an Africa country doing cleaning job. And few Nigerians I know with B.Sc, including myself are doing factory job if that tells you something....but I stand to be corrected by those who know more.
Best is to get another qualification from here.
