Programming / Re: Share Your Road map To Becoming A Web Developer. by Taofeekdboy(m): 8:07am On Mar 29, 2020 |
To get started, I am a Graphic Designer and was tired of doing one skill, I venture into programming. I started learning Python which took me 3 weeks to master all the basics, then I was like is that all?. I made a research on mobile development and web development, opted for web development, decided to go for Django because of its heavyweight and full stack development over flask. Well it has been 6 months of learning Django, the learning curve gets deeper everyday and have built alot of projects with Django such as; functional blogs, Super Heros websites I built for my company, colleague management system I built for my company as well. In between, I was learning Javascript, mastered the basics within a week because of my Python knowledge, I started learning React, I built some websites with Django as my backend, React as my frontend, apps like where you can search for player and team details in the world. My Learning Curve Python(Advance python) Django JavaScript React Angular(little knowledge) Java(intermediate) Right now, I am working on an ecommerce website integrated with stripe payment, music app with React and Django. It was not that easy combining all of this with my job but dedication, passion have made it possible. All courses I took are from Udemy and Mosh Hamedani, the latter is a guru and a good mentor. 11 Likes 2 Shares |

Well, my advice for you is to start learning on your own for a while, after that you can look for someone with experience to take you through some of the problems you will face. I started programming on my own(self taught), it was difficult at first but with dedication, time and passion, it worked. I will tell you to learn one language at first, master it very well and do most things with it because if you are learning everything together at the same time, you won't be able to grab it at all. No age limitation in programming, as it depends on your time, passion, start with Python(recommended) as it is easy to learn and the syntax is like English, good to read. If you need any assistance, you can send me a message |

Talking from django aspect, this will be done in the database, or follow uuid as aspect as that will save you time. This can't really be done on the client side rather the server side. |
Programming / Re: Django And Flask Users, Your Help Is Needed Please by Taofeekdboy(m): 5:58am On Feb 10, 2020 |
As for flask, to get started is not complicated and straightforward until you get to where you have to render your pages dynamically and setting up API. It does not require deep python knowledge. On the other hand, django has a steep learning curve and at times requires deep python knowledge, I will advise you to first know the basics of python like sets, tuples, list, dictionary and logical operations, conditional operations and so on.. Most importantly learn about classes and functions, the encapsulation, polymorphism, inheritance, e.t.c so that you have good knowledge of python before you start using its frameworks. |

Hello guys.... Been working on so many projects for some time and just want to drop some here for feedback and critics(usually needed to improve your work). So I will be dropping the links to the apps and if needed, I will drop the source code as well. I develop using python, Javascript libraries such as React, jquery and many more, I use django for my backend application. The first app I will like to drop is a sport app I developed, in which you can search for players and teams of your choice to get their details. Not every player is added on it yet as I just made it simple because of other projects I'm working on. Link: www.sporty.netlify.com Please take a look at it and drop your feedback. Thanks. |

What Mrbrownjay1 said is true to an extent, I wondmt deny the fact that they do humiliate or delay Nigerians at POE of some countries but it has never occurred to me before. Holders of Nigeria passport are not allowed to apply for some visa categories but at times if you are a resident of some countries, it might be allowed but in the case of OP, he didn't check if Nigeria passport is allowed to apply or if you are only a resident of the country. |

Longushomo:If you have UAE experience or rather a skill/professional. Doctors, nurses, engineers and graphic designers have better chances here than other skills. I will implore you if you have something good doing over in Nigeria, don't come here to start all over again.. Many have come, some are lucky, some are unlucky, Alhamdulilah for mine. About the acomodation, my company gave me a good acomodation, three in a room with good facilities, it depends on your company. 1 Like |

Longushomo:200k job is not encouraging in dubai? If you know how much some people earn here, you will understand that everything is not glitter as they used to show it on social media. 200k without paying for acomodation and transportation, list both private and government organizations that pay that unless getting it through corruption and bribe means. Also don't trust your agent much cos most of them do tell lies and when you get there, the salary might not be what he said. 3 Likes |

Just little contribution, UAE is not heaven on eartj when it comes to job but it is better compared to Nigeria, most of what New comers are seeing in terms of job scarcity or discrimination is because of our fellow brothers soiling our image here.. We re known to be greedy and selfish, thinking about ourselves not thinking about good legacy or impression you will leave for others coming. Right now, in Abu Dhabi they have banned Nigerians from security job, and mostly discriminate Nigerians from good jobs now unless you have good experience and verifiable company you have worked with. Agents don't have good jobs cos most good jobs require you being present for interview. In conclusion, jobs are very hard to get in UAE for Africans especially Nigerians but with luck and determination, you can land a good job, before coming do your homework very and decide for yourself if it worth it cos nobody know yourself more than you do. |

Though, there is no denying fact that there is discrimination against Africans but we all need to know that UAE generally is for Filipinos and Indians, so they take most of their people at work and employ from their neighboring countries.. Africans working in a good place prefer taking money from his fellow people to fix them at work and this limits our domination here. So don't blame UAE for that rather our people that does everything because of money. |
Travel / Re: My Mini European Adventure And How It Has Changed My Perspective Towards Nigeria by Taofeekdboy(m): 12:11pm On Nov 16, 2018 |
The OP might be right with some of his points but at the same time he did a poor work by tagging individual names, cursing each and everyone living in the country. As I have traveled out of the country, I am not happy with the situation of things in my dear country but at the same time, I can’t curse my country of origin simply because of what I saw outside the country, most of this European and American countries were built by their citizens’ taxes, they paid a lot for it before it look like that but here in Naija, there are few who pay taxes and many multi billionaires prefer making money off the country without paying their taxes, how do you expect growth and development in such occasion. Our politicians and leaders are corrupt, we know, but average Nigerian is more corrupt because he hasn’t attained that position yet, dimeji bankole is a perfect example..Nigeria was great before is an excuse, during that time, Nig. Population was 60 million plus, now it’s more than 200 million with the same infrastructures and basic amenities being in place then. I am not against who wants to travel out of the country before some people who won’t read meaning to post starts ranting and abusing me, you are free to leave the country but don’t curse your country, paint her black because of what you see outside the country, we have black people making great things within the country and outside the country, at times there might not be opportunity to showcase your talent in your fatherland, if you find that kind of opportunity outside doesn’t mean you should be cursing your country...there are some of this Europeans migrating to other European countries because of job opportunities and better livelihood but you won’t see them coming online to shattered their country’s images and citizens....Nigeria might not be great now but with our collective effort, she will soon be great. 13 Likes |

chineji:Guy, don’t just because you went to Italy and saw beatiful roads and good infrastructures, that will mean everything is good with them including job opportunities, if you know how some Nigerians fair abroad, then you will know it is not easy at all. Even Italians are migrating to neighboring countries because of job opportunities and you are here in your own world talking about good roads and good infrastructure, maybe that’s what op will be feeding on when he gets there. PS: you think if there is a sure job of 500k monthly salary been assured for some Nigerians abroad, you will see a lot coming back including me 4 Likes |

chineji:He should flee without proper planning when he is earning half a million in Nigeria, I’m not against him Travelling because at some point in life, you will need to experience the outside community. At first, going for masters degree in USA or Canada will not guarantee you automatic job after graduation because you will join bunch of jobless immigrants seeking job opportunities also because I have like 2 friends that ended up in Nigeria after their masters degree. Secondly , if you plan on doing any kind of work(hustling) over there, then I can implore you to move but a bird at hand is worth a million in the bush. The kind of salary that even Nigerians in abroad are even dreaming of is what you are debating on... 7 Likes |

I’m not trying to mock the dead but there was a thread here about someone that traveled to Khasastan and couldn’t make it over there, committed suicide. Predstan:Did you just say 500k monthly is not good or the best pay. Different strokes for different people, when some people are wishing to earn half of that. The main point is how we plan our life with the amount we re earning. Some people are earning less and have the basic needs of life because they planned their life accordingly, I am not against traveling out for greener pastures or betterment of thyself but if you are doing perfectly fine in your country, why leaving for the uncertainty. Like I said everyone is opinionated, who am I to tell OP to stay back. |

Predstan:Not everyone is doctors, Engineers or professionals. You are talking about uncertainty in Canada and known fact in Nigeria. Someone is earning 500k plus in Nigeria, wants to migrate to Canada with uncertainty, there many factors at hand; what worked for A might not work for B, the Op might have to start from the beginning again. At times, the grass is not always greener at the other side. We look at bright side of things not bother to check the bad side. Well to the OP, he has the larger part to play out. 3 Likes |
