tete7000:
Devil has various way of misleading people. While it is common for him to make people believe God doesnt exist, the most pernicious one is to convince some he the devil doesn't exist. If devil exists, then black power (juju) also exists since devil is author of black power. Let the op be deceiving himself o, the day they try juju on you, you won't be the one to explain. O ni d'ele r'oyin.
It seems there is proof that black power exists in Africa than there is of God. Juju is stronger than God deep in our hearts of hearts....

Yes.

One day, I was traveling from Lag too Ibadan. In the bus, some people were arguing. One guy said he didn't believe in juju. An old man was sitting beside this guy. He was a really old man. He wore a white robe like all these Ifa priests. Not long later, the bus stopped and some of us came down to ease ourselves. After some minutes, the driver started calling everyone back into the bus. The guy who had said he didn't believe in juju started shouting from the bush he had gone to ease himself. We all rushed there thinking a snake had attacked him. The problem was that our man could not stop urinating. He continued to urinate for 30 minutes. All the time he was weeping like a baby. Everyone was shocked. Then the old man who had sat beside him hit him on the buttocks and the urine stopped. The old man now looked at him and said, "do you now believe in juju?"

My guy did not answer o. No one talked again till we got to Ibadan. We were all scared of the old man. When the man came down just before Iwo Road, everyone started talking and wondering about what had happened.
people you did not know from Adam decided to play on your gullibility by staging a play. Hit him on the buttocks ko....whacked him on the blokos ni.
If your supposed IFA priest had come to you with a business proposition right after that drama I sure say you go fall mugu.
419 is really a game of psychology.

I wish people will just stop picking sides in stories like this...I don't know who to really believe. But somehow I believe him more than I do her. Remember actors are very convincing liars. We don't know the truth of this story. She might have been wronged in another way....and trying to mess him up with this allegation.
EducationRe: Eight (8) Reasons Every University Should Have A Startup Lab by Tayeni(m): 11:22am On Apr 25, 2017
wirinet:
This should be the ideal situation but our educational system was not formulated to make us self sufficient ( individually or collectively), our educational system was formulated to make us serve the colonial government ( which layer metamorphosized to the federal government) for the exploitation of out natural resources. So the educational system trains us only to read and write good English and to become good low and mid level administrators ( clerks). Our educational system cannot produce practical engineers and scientists. This is why the aspiration of a mechanical or electrical engineering graduate is to world in a bank or an oil company as administrative staff.
true. very true. No graduate sees an opportunity to "blow" in his field....the system has not equipped us to excel in the sciences .its either we want to sing or act or work in a bank. With the number of graduates this country churns out every year...you begin to wonder which hole of oblivion we all dive into after school...cos I don't see the impact.

EbonyMira:
Truth is, Nigeria is lagging behind in everything technology. We don't need start up labs, we need well equipped engineering and science labs. We need research labs too. When it comes to ICT, Nigeria is not going anywhere. How many Nigerian projects are on github? How many stars do they get? It's sad, but true. Eventually, everyone resort to making money from adsense(a bit biased towards Nigerian). Last month Forbes released their new billionaires list, I saw some young men who created a payment processor 3 years ago. These guys are now billionaires. What happened to all the made in Nigeria payment processors? We need to clear our image before the world take us seriously, else we wouldn't see a billionaire come out of the Nigerian tech market in a decade or two
I think we need startup labs too....but we must be careful to improve on all fronts..because in Nigeria, we are unidirectional. watch how other universities will start commissioning empty buildings and calling them startups. Uncreative copycats.
EducationRe: Eight (8) Reasons Every University Should Have A Startup Lab by Tayeni(m): 10:26am On Apr 25, 2017
I'm all for the establishment of IT labs...but the one I find more important are workshops equipped with modern equipments and tools....think about CNC machines...lathes...drill press....TIG welding machine...where they can work with carbonfibre, plastics, metals...the works.
Where students can fabricate tangibles...appliances...electric cars...even if na go-karts....bicycles...all these low tech things we still spend dollars to import...if they must copy, let them. After all that's how China started..Workshops where reverse engineering can be easily done.
I think mech engineers are equally as important as IT scientists

In all these deaths, I see individuals who are trying to find money to buy garri and cook egusi soup for themselves and family. Why are we killing the poor to protect the rich ? What the Bleep is going on ? Cant you all see ? That no body can carry arms and kill others except they have a need that they can't fulfill ?

How many can you kill ? How man prostitutes can you jail ? How many ritualistic can you kill ? How many area boys will you jail ? The frequency of crimes show that something is wrong in the system. Stop shooting and killing these people. They are hungry, battered and bleeped. They need our help. Stop the killing.
What a warped way to view criminality. Because someone is looking for egusi soup...so that gives him the right to kidnap and threaten the life of a fellow human. whether robbery by pen or gun....thief na thief. Anybody with a penchant for taking life should himself be put down like a dog

I don't know why I find it hard to believe suicide cases in Nigeria. Foul play dey this one. Murderer s know the moment the police finds a dead man with a knot around his neck, it's case closed. no investigation....The easiest way to commit murder in Nigeria; make it seem like suicide.
Besides Lautech students are tough mehn....lol.
On a serious note.....RIP
AgricultureRe: THIS Machine Will Make You Millions Of Naira. by Tayeni(m): 7:47pm On Mar 19, 2017
the power consumption is reasonable....at 0.72kw/hr , means your bill will be around 500naira daily. But my question is; did you give the total power consumption for the two engines or we will have to multiply 0.72kw/hr by 2

the power consumption is reasonable....at 0.72kw/hr , means your bill will be around 500naira daily given that power costs 29naira per kw. But my question is; did you give the total power consumption for the two engines or we will have to multiply 0.72kw/hr by 2

I don't have a problem with looks..... nor having things made locally instead of being imported. Is this tractor practical? ....or just for show?
i haven't seen it live...but it looks practical for light tillage. if an animal can be used to power farm tools...so can that machine.I've seen smaller ones...powered by an engine not bigger than a small generator.

Is this the way forward?... the focus should be on innovation... bringing new ideas to the table... not making efforts to reinvent the wheel.
this is not reinvention of any wheel....its called import substitution. There are tractors of that size being imported....if he can knock metals together and it works....fine. forget the fact that it looks crude. If its useful to farmers and they buy from him....someone else from(maybe from the east or the west) may come up with his own that's better looking...he will then sit up and rise up to the challenge by making his own better....on and on the cycle goes until we meet up with the rest of the world.

He has some valid points except:

1. VAT moving to 10%. This has no advantage to the common man on the street. What FIRS should do is to ensure that more people do pay taxes as and when do. Compliance level is very poor in tax payment in Nigeria.
actually...the his VAT argument is valid because we lack a comprehensive data base just like he said.....how can you tax who doesn't exist on your data base without leaving room for double taxation or arbitrary taxation or even outright tax evasion?. VAT system can be monitored easily than income tax etc. I think he is right.....reduce income tax as a palliative for businesses....increase VAT.

see this extremist of a governor. u want to Nigeria to sell all the oil assets to China and India so that the oil industry workers will turn to palmoil workers. Also these Chinese and Indians will keep bringing their people
to take up jobs which Nigerians are able to do. God forbid. Go and check some indian companies like Sterling exploration and see what is going on there. indians all over the place. Better respect urself at elk rug so
jobs which Nigerians are able to do? I'm sorry the truth is ....we have not been able to manage these companies ourselves... let the assets be sold. abi who have been in control of these unprofitable looting conduits called national assets all the while. call it self hate or anything.... the bitter truth is that we are not efficient managers... the incompetence of Discos is my witness to this....ajaokuta....etc...we have to understudy the efficiency and lean management methods of the Chinese(na apprenticeship be that).

Useless health minister, useless govt excluding Osinbajo.
I think people have misunderstood the minister of health...I don't think the lecturer passed his drugs through the proper and ethical method for tests and human trials. He should have known better as a university lecturer.
