@Donzman, That's exactly what I'm asking the guy and he's talking about those that tortured prisoners in Abu Ghraib going to jail. Just because they sent those ones to jail does not mean they'll kill these cold blooded murderers parading as soldiers?Stop hiding behind another's skirt. The ones sentenced to jail now are those responsible for the Abu Graib prison scandal. Saying jail is not equivalent to death suggests you are referring to them. As at this moment, there has been no sentencing for those that killed the innocent civilians in Haditha. While the investigation is still on-going, there is evidence that they will be court marshaled. There is no need to pre-empt the decision of the courts to kill them or not if/when found guilty. The U.S. is known for carrying out death sentences, and you can only begin to complain if the right sentencing is not given to them at the close of the proceedings. While these soldiers can be referred to as murderers, they are still much more different than the terrorists who cold-bloodedly kill their compatriots. These guys just lost their minds at that point in time after suffering major losses due to a road side bomb. They didn’t plan the murder and neither was it pre-meditated. While this does not justify their actions, I believe it is tenable in a court of law. |
@TV01, How can you be a Player and the Umpire at the same? I stand no chance with such arrangement. |
So where are we? |
@Donzman, Since when did Jail equal Grave? The rhyme but they're miles apart! The soldiers convicted for the Abu Graib scandal didn't kill anyone so why should they get killed? Get you facts right, you are either deliberately mixing up issues or are very ill-informed!! |
The once convicted at the Abu Graib prison are in jail now. so what are you talking about? |
I'm saying it's torture but as you want to deny that, then it can only be mutilation. Both actions are unacceptable no matter what. Are we playing with words here or you are just trying to cover up an apparent lie. There exists absolutely no evidence that Saddam was tortured up till the time he was hanged. So how can you be saying he was tortured? Torture and mutilation are unacceptable, and in this case torture can not be proved by any stretch of the truth. I expect them to give the soldiers the sort of treatments Nazis receive up until this day.For your information, the American Soldiers who killed the innocent iraqis will also be killed if convicted under American Army court of law. |
@Donzman, Man, you are such a liar. Are you admitting the fact that there is no evidence to prove torture? Or do you still want to refer to mutilation as torture? Now you are changing the goal posts again. Bush never sanctioned the soldiers who attacked, denegrated or mudered innocent Iraqis in cold blood. These soldiers are either serving sentences now or are awaiting court martial as punishment for their shameful actions. Those who commited the crimes are made to face the music of the law. What more do you expect from Bush/America? |
@donzman, Come on man, what are you trying to say?. . . That the wounds came about after his death? That is ridiculous. The wounds obviously came about after his death, possibly from being dragged. Now I'm grateful that at least we all saw what his face looked like before he was executed. He was not tourtured nor ill-treated while in U.S custody. Infact, compare his looks when they took him out of that fox-hole to his looks at execution. He was obviously well taken care of by the U.S. who held on to him for as long as possible in order to avoid a situation where he is either tortured or mutilated. I'm also sure he received the best medical attention available to keep him in good health. Of course it will be a violation to mutilate his body, but you are being insincere and cleverly leading others to the wrong conclusion by claiming it is torture. Come to think of it, those facial wounds could have been inflicted when he was hung at the gallows. Remember he swung from side to side and could have hit his face on the steel platform. Please compare and contrast his looks before capture and after capture before execution, and tell us if he must have been tortured in U.S. custody or well treated.
|
@Mariory, Isn't it typical that they will say all such to prove that they are right? Now they are cleverly smuggling words to pull a wool over our eyes. They have substituted possible mutilation for torture, and an execution is now being called assassination. What next?! ![]() |
@Donzman, You obviously missed the fact that 'torture' is an inapropriate word to use for someone who is already dead. You can only torture a live person. Saddam wasnt tortured. Someone, through zealousness may have inflicted some blows on his lifeless body but that does not amount to torture! |
Even if the scars were inflicted after his death does it make it right? No one said this was right. The U.S. treated Saddam with utmost respect and dignity when he was in their custody. How the U.S. is responsible for the action of the Iraqis still beats me. Credit must be given to the US for the reasons you stated? Na wah.Perhaps you would have wanted the U.S. to dish it out to Saddam the same way he dished it out to the thousands he killed. That the U.S. kept him alive to receive the justice he denied to his people is of course laudable. Still, there is no way of showing that those that complain about the execution do support abortion until a poll or survey is carried out.The only way we know they are in opposition to Saddam's hangingb is the hypocritical noise they are making over our airwaves. If they are in opposition to abortion, we would hear the same noise over and over again. Can you imagine how many babies have been aborted between the time you posted and my response? |
@babyosisi, The point is that the prayers must never be directed at a human being. If the human agent suffers terrible consequences from the spiritual battle, then so be it. Remember that God does not desire the death of any man! Remember the case of persecution of the church in the book of Acts, they only prayed to God for the safety of their brethren and not the death or downfall of the persecutor. In God's time Herod's cup was full and he died after uttering blasphemy. If at all we should pray for a persecutor, it should be that God will help change their hearts. A prayer to kill him that God sent His Son to die for is diametrically opposed to His salvation plan for that person. |
@babyosisi, yeah but there are sometimes when fire and brimstone prayers are called for. we can't deny that and it ain't unscriptural. While this is right, men must not be the target. "We wrestle NOT against flesh and blood" remember? |
The deep wound was obviously on his throat which is not too unexpected for someone that was hanged! I actually missed the scars on his face but one thing is sure, it must have been inflicted after his death and not before. he was in the same suit we saw on him when being hanged and there was no blood stains on his body. And by the way, bruising a dead body is not called torture, it is called mutilation. In this regard, credit must be given to the United States for not handing him over soon enough to have him tourtured and neither leaving his corpse too long with the Iraqis to have him mutilated beyond recognition. Of course we know the position of these people about abortion. How many have been done today without them batting an eye. Yet the lawful killing of a mass murderer is what they focus on because it gives them some political clout. |
@TV01, Imprecatory prayers? Not for New Testament Christians.O goodness me. I have started the year in agreement with you on nairaland. What a year this one is turning out to be! |
ToH, I am not surprised by your so called 'abrasiveness' because my first exposure to your posts suggests that you've made up your mind about the so-called "babyosisi boys". Maybe it is this prejudice that makes you feel that one is attacking you when that is not the case. I have reviewed my initial response to your post and I still see no reason why you had to respond the way you did. I owe you? Or wetin I do to make you launch that ballistic missile at me? So ara e o. Anyway, nothing wrong with your pixs. I guess its one of your tools for 'Thiefing hearts' (now that is a joke o, before you start raining abuses again). As the saying goes, "If you've got it, flaunt it". |
@Donzman, So the guy was apparently torturedHow did you come to this conclusion? Is it from that same video or you have been fed with more propaganda from another source? the last I know, hanging is a constitutional provision in iraq. That it hurst your sensibilities does not make you right. If you don't like it, pressure the Iraw people to change that law and not express sentiments to him who does not deserve it. The hyposcrisy around the world about this hanging just pisses me off! Obviosuly t is politically motivated. Those who are shoutimg loudest about this killing are in the forefront of the mas killing we call abortion. Arent those lives sacred too? |
@ToH, It seems we are on different wavelengths entirely! I guess I expected too much from you in the hope that you'll understand some simple sentences. If you are unable to grasp that, then I must be wasting my time expecting you to read in between the lines. Can someone help me interprete the above exchange to ToH? I don't know how much simpler I can make this to be. Footnote: Do you always go on a mad rage each time you are intellectually scrutinised? @TV01, My brother. Nice to hear from you and thanks for the greetings. I believe the season brough much joy to you as it did to me and I wish you the very best in this new year. Welcome back on board. It's being a while. |
because it's kind of a stupid question and I don't know why you are asking me such.Stupid question to ask you what the differences you claim exist between the Catholic Bible and the KJV? Are you trying to be funny? The last person I encountered with such logic on nairaland is hnd_holder. You make an accusation and you expect others to prove to you that your accusations are true. ![]() What gospel were they claiming in Da Vinci Code again?Don't you understand sarcasm? Of course the DaVinci Code isn't anything Gospel. |
@TOH, Why should I do your research for you darling? You should back up your claims with proof whcih i can either agree or diagree with! |
What differences if I may ask, aunty touchy-touchy. |
@TOH, You forgot to include the Gospel Acording to Dan Brown a.ka. Davinci Code. What about the Gospel according to Muhammad a.k.a the koran . That they both talk about Jesus does not make them divinely inspired . |
Saddam's hanging can never be said to be UNJUST! |
@babs787, from your post, it showed that u can even use vulgar and other sort of languages to address your father or those older than you in your family.Your hypocrisy is so appalling. You are accusing someone of being disrespectful and yet you have the nerve to mention his father. If indeed you are one that understand sthe culture you are hollering about, you will know it is the height of disrespect to mention someone's parent liek that. Such hypocrisy! |
Ugwumba, Confrontation is not the same thing as hatred. Why the growing notion by a number of folks on nairalnad that love can only be expressed through affirmation?! So I should affirm your practice as a sign of love even though that practice is evil? If you are a Christian who has studied the life of Jesus in the Gospel, then you will understand that He is a confrontational personality. He never let evil slip by Him one bit. He confronts and corrects with passion and that is what we are admonished to do: 2 Timothy 4:2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. We are only following in the footstep of Christ my brother. We can't stand Him being misrepresented by idol worshippers and those who name His name but don't follow in His steps. |
babs787, Are you prepared to receive answers or you are just here to waste people's time. Your antecedents show that you never acccept a fact if it contradicts your preconceived notions. |
@babs787, So what will you do if your wife is 'wayward'? And what should she do to you is you are 'wayward'? |
@Bobbyaf, I read your rejoinder regarding the RCC being babylon and all I could do was yawwwwn. As I said, you have not proved anything at all. Your pre-conceived notion which you acqired through indoctrination is at best laughable. I have debated with people like you before and I am just not in the mood for such adventure again. Hold on to your legalistic approach to christianity. Keep living in the O.T. subject to observance of days and voluntary humility. Keep chasing shadows and observing the traditions of men. In the end, you will find out that the reality is Christ and will join us in the blessed bliss of absolute faith in our rest: Christ. |
@Donzman, Of course I don't believe in anything 'poly'. Whether polygamy, polyandry, polytheism or polytechnic . The 'poly' tells me that it is a crowd. |
@Donzman, Ummm. . . I don't see anything inherently wrong with polygamy!Do you see anything inherently wrong in polyandry then? |
Mukina2, Don't you expect us to dissect whatever answers you give to us? So you want us to agree that beards are secondary sexual organs without batting an eyelid? I was not brought up that way academically and spiritually. |
@TOH, You know what I got from those answers? They have no clue why they do what they do. How does it enahnce righteousness? How does it help them in their daily lives? Apart form the wrong notion that it is a secondary sex organ, I have found no other reasonable answer. Muki did not provide answers not because she felt no one is seeking any, but because she does not know. Shikena. |
