BRATISLAVA: Older? It is from the perspective of age you have my submissions.
People lie, and that is your reason to want to know why a man would do those things? To justify what? Even if she cheated on him with his father and his younger brother, nothing justifies beating his wife, starving his children and other things listed there. What happened to leaving? What do you think his side of the story will do? It will explain why he should not be arrested for battering his wife and other domestic abuse?
In jail, his reasons don't matter. Why do they matter so much to you? Age dictates that knowing why doesn't change the outcome, no judge will ever be interested in why when a crime has been committed and rightly so. Investigating clear evidence is pointless. Oga, how did you know he beat his wife? Do you have a cam in their home? What if his side of the story is that he never beat his wife? It's true that you are young but you are not too young not to remember the case of Johnny Depp and Amber Heard. Please let's learn from other's mistakes |

BRATISLAVA: Why shouldn't we conclude? Because men have not been known to do those things? Statistically, it is highly likely that all the things he said are happening.
You should be worried that in the face of such inhumanity you need to hear his side of the story. It will not justify anything. No need to argue with you. When you get older, you will realize that all people, both male and female lie, then you will understand why all wise people purse and investigate before dishing out judgement. You will also learn that every case should be treated independently and not as a statistics. Just give yourself a few more years and you will see clearly. |

BRATISLAVA: One of the most abused lines on this forum.
Is there anything that justifies battering your wife and starving your children, instead of divorcing her and going your own way? Don't judge. Not even when he kills her. Still ask for his side of the story and sympathize with him. So how do you know he battered his wife? How do you know he is starving his children? A wise person doesn't just conclude. |

Confirm4real: Please this is a serious case she happens to be my younger sister I'm putting this up on her behalf.
1. The husband doesn't give her money for upkeep.
2. Most times he beat her up mercilessly.
3. Disgraced her in the compound by telling a mechanic that she doesn't wear pants.
4. Treat her like rag.
5. Doesn't have regard for my family.
6. Monitor her everywhere and accuse her wrongly of following men, this is someone that they've been married for more than 15yrs and have 4kids together.
7. Always accuse her wrongly of stealing his money.
8. Follow her to the market and pays for any food items she buys.
9. The little money my sister earns as a teacher he will make sure she spends all the money at home.
10. Locks his phone but told my sister to always unlock her own so he will be seeing all her messages and calls. Even put tracker on her phone to monitor her calls.
11. Smells my sister's undies atimes to know if she went to meet a man.
12. There was a time my sister was into restaurant business the husband didn't allow the business to last, he told her customers should not sit down to eat they can only buy and go.
13. He now bought a Sienna he still put tracker to monitor the car and inner tracker to monitor calls inside the car. If he noticed some conversation in the car he will start calling my sister, if she doesn't pick while driving he will start insulting her.
14. He pays the children school fees and house rent with complains. They're living at Ajah.
Although I have reported the case to Human Rights. Please what advice can you give if she's your sister.
Note: They dated long before marriage almost 5yrs, but I wonder why she didn't see those red flags then.
Women should be careful in their choice of selection, most men pretends to be nice during dating but not knowing they're beast in human form. This is your sister's side of the story, let's not judge until we hear from her husband. |

Romance › Re: New Marriage About To Crash. by tctrills: 1:56pm On Aug 09, 2023 |
Ehinjuola: My husband is not the same man I fell in love with.
My husband changed totally after wedding day, in fact, it started on the wedding night and its giving me a lot of concern.
It's not that he is not talking to me or we are fighting, but he is not the cheerful happy person anymore.
After months of trying to get what the problem is, he finally opened up to me and I don't know what my fault is, I think he is overreacting.
My husband works in an insurance company and he is just a junior staff, he earns 150k per month, so he is not doing that bad.
When we wanted to get married, my dad wrote the wedding list and everything he would bring, when he saw them, he fumed that they were too much and they should reduce it but my dad insisted that he won't collect it twice, I also told him if he really loves me, he would provide them, he could get help from his family too, it is called bride price and other things, and it is once.
We had little issue then but he later resolved it.
He brought everything they ask him for
During the wedding, my parents told him to buy a cow, rent a hall and decorate it then they'll take care of other things. He said he didn't have money for a big hall and he would prefer a field ground but my dad insisted that rain could disrupt things and he has many people coming.
That almost cause issues too, I had to support him with 50k to get the hall because I know who my dad is, he won't back out.
I didn't know how he did it, he took the hall and designed it, he bought cow too.
His family brought food and everything went fine and that was it.
I don't know what was keeping him moody until he spoke up.
He said I couldn't fight for him, I was there supporting my parents and watch them extorting him, did I even know he had to collect loan to pay for those things?
I got angry because he used the word 'extorting'.
He was the one that wanted to have my hand in marriage and if he cherish me, he should do all they wanted since he is not paying twice.
After I said this, he stopped talking in the house, he comes home, eat and go to bed.
I tried talking to him but he would listen but not talk, he is cold to himself and prefer his privacy.
Have I said something wrong?
I don't like whats happening. My marriage is too young to be going through all these.
I am tired, I don't know what to do. Your family bleeped up and you did not support him when he needed you most. You said his salary is 150k and you actually think that is big? Your husband probably spent more than his 1 year salary just to get married to you and you think your father did well? All he needed was for you to be by his side, for you to talk to your father on his behalf but you bleeped up. You need you feel sorry and ask for forgiveness. |

Everyone of us can boast of having the correct interpretation but true Christianity goes beyond such arrogance. It's the ability to teach the word and explain the scriptures as they are meant to be. This you are wrong and I am right behavior is all to common with nairaland Christians. And personally I think it's a shame. |

If everything Jesus said is plainly understood as you think you do, there wouldn't be need for biblical exegesis...
Infact, Muslims, traditional worshipers, buhdists etc..all claim to understand the words of Jesus as you believe you do....meanwhile what the have is the letters, and guess what?
The letter.........? Complete it Oga stop this. Everyone can claim to be the only person who understands the word of Christ. Jesus Christ is not a confusionist as you are trying to paint him neither is he a liar. If he says you need to be born of water to inherit the kingdom, he was not lying or joking. Just follow him and be saved rather than creating a new meaning to suit you lifestyle. Again, I feel you are actually lazy and a little bit dishonest. You have had since Sunday to give your personal explanation to the verse I qouted or to show any verse that says baptism is not relevant to salvation but you have not. I ask again, do we believe you or the word of God. Now learn from your Bible. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Baptism is a commandment. The bible will not change because you want it to. |

Obaaderemi2: Nonsense! You must be very young. How many hausa people have#100,000 to rent an apartment? Most of them huddle together in ghettos and refuse to go to school but mess up the environment. One ibo man rents a room and brings about 10 boys to come and live with him. Only a few are doing very well. Yet all of you swell up the population of the West and it eventually affects our data. Look at ondo for example, it doesn't have as many ibos and hausas as a place like Ibadan. It's the least poor state in Nigeria.
I'm wasting time with you and will subsequently stop responding to you. The thread has been debunked and destroyed already. Our point has been made: the SW is richer than the SE. We only hope to be better. Oga your points are baseless. The average Hausa man in the west is actually doing better than the indigenes. He is either selling suya, or foodstuffs or involved in some physical work. He is contributing much more than the jobless Alaye boy. But let's assume you are right which you are not. Let's reduce the amount on rent by 50 %. It's still a 1.3 trillion economy added to the SW. How is that not a net positive. |

lawani: Yes. I had a friend that grew up in Enugu and others I met that grew up in Aba, many others in PH and they are Yorubas. In the old Eastern region are millions of Yoruba who also swell up the economy in the same way you described but if there is no decorum there will be issues. Yoruba have the numbers and investments in PH, Kaduna and etc too and Hausas too but they don't direct attention to themselves and they bow to the dominant culture on ground. In conclusion a sparsely populated city is better than a city with a huge percentage of the population as belligerents. That is the issue. Yorubas can only succeed in Igbo land by cooperating with Igbos. That is the only way. Oga, it seems you don't understand what we are talking about here. You make important points but that's for another topic. Again one should not be afraid of directing attention to himself in his own country. I have lived in other countries and no one asked you not to direct attention to yourself. Are you trying to take away people's right of expression? |

Obaaderemi2: Without that foundation it would have been worse today. The rest of you dragged the West back by swarming our land and stressing our resources. That's why a yoruba state is the least poor state in Nigeria and the SW remains the least poor region in Nigeria. Now let's test your theory that non indigenes are stressing the SW economy. Let's make some assumptions and calculations 1. Assume that there are 2 million non indigenous households in the SW. 2. Let's assume they pay an average of 100k for housing per year. That equals 200 billion. 3. Again let's assume each household spends 200k on feeding per year. That equals 400 billion. 4. Now let's assume that half of these households own businesses and have to rent space. They pay 100k per year. That equals 100 billion. 5. These people use transportation. Let's assume another 200k per year as transport is now very expensive. That's another 400 billion 6. They buy other household needs. They pay bills such as NEPA and school fees. Let's assume another 400 billion per year. Now explain how an additional 1.5 trillion to the SW economy is not a blessing. These people are making the region more viable and competitive. Their contributions alone is more than the IGR of the entire region. So oga how are the stressing your economy? |

Obaaderemi2: Without that foundation it would have been worse today. The rest of you dragged the West back by swarming our land and stressing our resources. That's why a yoruba state is the least poor state in Nigeria and the SW remains the least poor region in Nigeria. In the 1970s, the SW was one of the richest regions in the entire Africa. The SE was just recovering from a war and was the poorest. Today, more than half of the SW people are poor but your leaders want you to believe that the problem is that Igbo man who pays you rent and who buys and sells goods in your market. Somehow he is stressing your economy by paying his rent and paying for food. If he has a shop, he pays Government agents tax. In 1970, no Igbo child was in school. All through the 70s and 80s, the Igbos were known for not going to school. The were all into business. Today, the have the lowest number of out of school kids. It was not government that changed this. 4 states in the SW have over 1 out of every 10 kids out of school. The SW still leads in many areas but they are beginning to fail in some of the most important metrics, education and poverty rate. It's a shame. It's nothing to be excited about. But we can't solve the problem by pretending it's not there. The Awo foundation is broken. |

That's why a yoruba state is the least poor state in Nigeria and the SW remains the least poor region in Nigeria. You just lie. Do you have any evidence to back what you say? How is the SW beings stressed. Are you saying that the Igbos in the SW don't pay their bills? In fact, the Igbos and Hausas in the SW are one of the biggest sources of growth and wealth to the region. The SW has a poverty rate of over 50%. That's not the least. That's the foundation you boast of. No intelligent person can boast of such failures. The SW has all it takes to pull it's people out of poverty. It has all the economic advantages yet it continues to disappoint. That you are able to boast of 50% poverty rate just because your IGR is high makes zero sense. Ogun state has one of the largest IGRs yet it's the poverty capital of the SW How have you not yet hanged your governors. Ogun state is littered with big multinational corporations yet 3 out of every 5 of it's people are dying of poverty and you blame the non indigenes. If non indigenes are the problem then Lagos and not Ogun state should be the poverty capital of the SW. |
