Hope amnesty saw this too?

Peaceful protesters attacking security officials? In the US try attacking an officer and you'll get some loads in your head.

Amnesty intl should spare me that shiit!

What have you done about us military harassing civilians in Iraq? Libya then? Etc??

Below is what a peaceful protest looks like. I'm not a tribalist. I'm just telling amnesty to keep shut her damn mouth.

Nigerian journalist are so dumb

Due to poor training? Who ruled out mechanical error? The aircrafts crashing are due to poor pilot training.

The writer must be dumb.

Yes, demonstrating the "technological capability" to the defence force after they made a request.

After tests they give feedback to the company which then will be put into the vehicle meaning another prototype might be built incorporating(to test) new features.

No one can yet answer if it will get into service or not.

Pictures: Surfers! Chasing a suspect vehicle(demonstration). grin
Oh cool. I know a technology demonstrator is not expected to enter service. Just like the Dassault Neuron.

Too early.

Still a demonstrator. A lot can change.

PIC: SAPS STF.
A technology demonstrator? Then it won't see service.

Actually its 70 units.....Sounds a lot, but Denel seem very optimistic. SAAF would need a further 15-20 Rooivalk as stated by the Defence review, Nigeria also around 10-20 units, Egypt might also be a potential customer after the US delayed its Apache deliveries that might be another 40 units, Poland,India and Brazil are also interested.
This is goof but how serious is Nigeria about rooivalk? I haven't seen any news on it
Foreign AffairsRe: African Militaries/ Security Services Strictly Photos Only And Videos Thread by tdayof(m): 8:01am On Nov 23, 2016
jl115:
Firstly all the ISR equipment you speak off have been replace by.....guess what.....guns hence the name gunship.

Secondly Gunships when armed without BVR missiles , rely on visual target acquisition, which means it has to fly really low like....7000ft low, thus if its sunny it would make one massive target. Thus for obvious reasons a isr aircraft can never be a gunship...its basically the opposite of each other.

A Gunship preforms the exact same role as an Attack/ helicopter-gunship....Close Air-support.

Much rather invest in 5 Rooivalk than 1 gunship. Added benefit you could actually use the Rooivalk in day time without being shot down.

Now I'm not saying gunships are not useful...they are in fact awesome pieces of hardware if used correctly, and the amount of lead that could be laid down by one of those beasts like the Ac130 is simply mind boggling ....but are ridiculously expensive, and simply not affordable in Nigeria's case, also when operating them in day time you would also need escorts to protect them!
I think I'll agree with you for the first time.
I thought you said to put rooivalk in production over a dozen of order will be needed.

7 Boko Haram terrorists killed by soldiers

– Soldiers engaged with terrorists in Kangarwa village leading to the death of seven terrorists – Other terrorists fled with gun wounds while injured officers were evacuated for treatment The Nigerian Army engaged Boko Haram in Borno leading to the death of seven terrorists. In a statement by Col Sani Usman who is the spokesperson of the army, he said troops of 119 Battalion Group of 8 Division deployed to Kangarwa village engaged in a gunfight with the terrorists.
Apart from the seven terrorists who were confirmed dead, several others escaped with gun wounds. Five soldiers also sustained gun wounds and have been evacuated to the hospital for treatment. It was reported that the terrorists were the same that attacked Dasa village on Tuesday, November 15 where they were repelled by soldiers. A suicide bomber has been gunned down by vigilant Nigerian security operatives in Maiduguri, Borno state. According to PR Nigeria, the suicide bomber attempted to penetrate a Transit Camp of Internally Displaced People (IDPs) along Muna Garage.

“While suspecting the ulterior motive of the suicide bomber with his strange behaviour, the security operatives attempted to accustom him. “But in his attempt to detonate the explosive device, he was gunned down by the official” IDP camps have recently become prime targets of the Boko Haram in suicide attacks. Many of such attacks have failed and the suicide bombers killed.

UN commend Nigerian Army for maintaining international best practice

The United Nations Organization (UNO) has commended the Nigerian Army for being professional in handling Boko Haram terrorism and insurgency especially in the North East Nigeria, saying their conduct was exemplary and it is in line with international best practices. The Special Assistant to United Nations Secretary General (SRSG), Office for West Africa, His Excellency, (Doctor) Mohammad Ibn Chambas gave this commendation during the UN solidarity visit to the Chief of Army Staff Nigerian Army, Lieutenant General Tukur Yusufu Buratai in his office, at the Headquarters of the Theatre Command of Operation LAFIYA DOLE in Maimalari Cantonment, Maiduguri, Borno State. The SRSG said that the UN has been explicit and consistent in condemning the activities of the Boko Haram terrorists in the region. He went further to commend Nigeria’s neighbouring countries for collaborating with Nigeria in fighting the common terrorists. He said the UN was conscious of the hardship caused to the people of Nigeria as a result of the activities of the BHT and promised the United Nations readiness in collaboration with other Non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to bring succour to the affected persons. Mr Mohammad also extended his appreciation to the Borno State Government, National Emergency Agency (NEMA), State Emergency Agency (SEMA) and other Humanitarian Agencies in providing succour for the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in the North East saying the UN will do everything possible to support, rehabilitate and resettle the victims of this menace. He also used the opportunity of the visit to pay tribute to Nigerian military personnel that lost their lives in the cause of the conflict, describing them as heroes, whom he said paid the supreme prize for others to live. In his response, the Chief of Army Staff, thanked the UN chief for the visit, kind commendation and promise of continuous support to the fight against Boko Haram terrorists in Nigeria. He also thanked the world body for all the support given to the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) especially at the formation stage of the Task Force when he was the pioneer Force Commander, saying that the MNJTF has achieved a lot in the fight against terrorism, which he attributed to the solid foundation at its take off. The Chief of Army Staff promised to continue to lead the Nigerian Army until the terrorists surrendered to the Federal Government of Nigeria. Mr Chambas was accompanied on the visit by some top diplomats of the United Nations.

Soccer world cup infrastructure? Are you kidding me?
