Odunayaw: Furthermore, One boko victory doesn't equal (Godforbid) the victory our troops has made thus far
Keep the faith, its our duty to the boys in boots We have faith. The only problem is this shows why bokoharam has the damn guts to perform ambush on our troops. Top officers need to do something about this. |

bidexiii: I just finished watching the video.
Can you imagine these barstards spying on ground troops not more than 50metres and also estimating the ground troop size and position.
They would av called for reinforcement and flanked them from different directions.
Honestly we really need the jf17. Now if we can't pick up such cheap fighter jet off the shelf ...? Then I wonder what type of 4th gen jet we are buying. If we need fighters from China in few weeks, we will get them. We can even get some used Mig or flankers for now. |

jakeporeshenko: you were right ! it seems like the heli made an emergency landing in some kind of no mans land hence the fortifying by own troops when they got there to secure it, maybe they couldnt hold the position without taking multiple casualties so they destroyed the heli and retreated. There was no way the shilka could have stopped them. If we had mortar, that could have been another idea . The categorically destroyed the shilka from a far distance with the BMP guns. Where did they get those? |

newafricaken254: it looks like boko haram have a D-30 Howitzer mounted in a truck, fast jets with dumb bombs are quiet ineffective.especially when friendly forces are very close to the foe Yes. Those jets were under attack and at the same time they couldn't just drop the bombs to avoid bombing friendly forces. I saw the howitzer too. |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Battle Field Discussion (picture/video) Of African Military . by tdayof(m): 9:17pm On Jan 15, 2018 |
Stephandeswardt: All that firepower and hardware and we still lost .....even with jet..... useless What fire power? Bokoharam had a bigger man power and also fire power. The shilka was hit from a far distance or was either destroyed by own troops to avoid it being captured. The shilka won't be able to move fast so I guess that's why. The only fire power we had was the shilka. The figure jets were taking defensive measures. There was no way they could drop some bomb under such condition since our jets don't fire guided ammunitions. In another way. There was no way bht will bring down any of the fighter jet as they were flying sorties high. I expected some rocket fire. |

jakeporeshenko: I just watched the video as well, I cant believe these animals attacked the crash site. what i gather from it is that the Cameroonians actually got there first, you can see their Mi-17 responding first ( probably to medevac those involved in the NAF crash) at 26:38, then their MRAPS showed up at 27:09 then boko haram sent in the drone, thats when you can see our troops and the Cameroonins setting up defensive positions (digging trenches and all).
https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=36&v=aRfrLXPi8N8 I said it from the beginning that it's either bokoharam attacked the position. Seems NAF jet was providing cover for Cameroon helo. Plus, it seems the soldiers escaped. |

Xbee007: Terrible, and they have been making huge loses within this period, especially to ISWAP. In fact, several weapons, vehicles and a personnel was captured. That NAF Spokesman See, if you like buy a billion MRAP, it still remains useless against such fire power. What happened to IFV /AFV? we are talking guns to where explosives are. If there was some mortar fire from our troops, then we could have repelled the attack. |

You buy MRAPS and then arm them with guns.
Nemesis4u, is it war crime to arm soldiers to fight like terrorists?
There was alot of issue there. Enough mortar fire would have seen bokoharam backing out. Those guys were armed with shilka and MRAPS with guns.
For bokoharam to have assembled in that huge amount to a very close location to the military, then what the heck is the ISR team doing? |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Battle Field Discussion (picture/video) Of African Military . by tdayof(m): 6:41pm On Jan 15, 2018 |
Xbee007: They spied on them with drone. Waited till the Fighter jets were out of sight and launched a massive ambush. Saddening See here's the problem. If you don't have a guided ammunition, you'll have trouble dealing with this guys. They had some guys whose work was to fire at the fighter jets then making the pilot making safety moves. They had some guys dealing with the ground troops. It wasn't a fair fight again. Seems the troops escaped as there was no dead body. That might have been the order. Back out. |

M14A1: Theres a surveillance drone footage, showing same yellow dump truck bidexii acknowledged, With what looks like a crash site.
It's possible the position came under attack It's the same position no doubt. It's a very bad thing the airforce couldn't attack that same position back. The f-7 seems is a damn fast aircraft. CC: Odunayaw have you seen the video |

Josfactz: Go to SR N see the full video Painful Hours of attack on position, the 76mm cannon was also used along side other gun trucks After watching the video, I can tell you that same position was attacked by BHT. They spied the military position with drone and then launched a huge attack on them. This incident happened after the picture released by NAF. That was the best time NAF could have attacked BHT and make them suffer huge casualty. There was a presence of a-jet and F-7 before the commencement of the attack. |

Josfactz: New video shows seized MRAP, destroyed shilka n utility trucks n co, including the destroyed MI17 Best guest, the position was attacked Any other video apart from the first one? If none then there's nothing to say. ..the shilka in that video isn't the same in the original picture plus all pictures released by BHT seems doctored. They should show us a video of the Mi-17 going down or being shot at .

jakeporeshenko: We can’t say that yet, the clip they rolled at the end featuring destroyed equipment could be from 2-3 years ago, the shilka in that video has a different camo from the one in the pic released by NAF Bokoharam should be running a media organization. You need a good PR or an organization to run some advertisement for you , kindly contact bokoharam I'm wowed |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Battle Field Discussion (picture/video) Of African Military . by tdayof(m): 12:30pm On Jan 15, 2018 |
jakeporeshenko: I noticed, obviously what is happening in the video is different from what those Boko boys are trying to portray in other words yeye Dey smell.. if you ask me the bit at the end showing destroyed equipment looks more like a compilation of past battles.
And if you notice no part of this their movie shows that cannon actually hitting any target Terrorist seems too good at propaganda. The only thing in can say for now is this guys still hold sophisticated weapons. |

His it possible to shot down a flying helicopter with what seems to be a recoilless riffle. Another question is, was that same position attacked? NAF needs to release something official. I already tagged the spokesman to the video. |

And other destroyed hardwares,BH propaganda video why The sudden change in video frame Look at it this way. NAF released a picture of the aircraft down. We have a shilka parked in that vicinity. It's either bokoharam attacked that position with the weapons as seen in the video. Can someone tell me why the video seems too fast too ? |
