Ibrahimanis: Someone mentioned about privatization of Dicon. The trick is to sell enough stake that they will be concerned how the company is run but not enough for them to have actual power or influence. Somewhere about 40-45% should be enough. Yes. 30% for 150 million naira. we will look for Chinese investors and then take 10%. DHQ? DEAL or NOT? |

newafricaken254: its reported pakistan air force wanted to buy turkey targeting pods to mount them on their JF-17.Nigeria does need to acquire JF-17 jets to drop precision bombs.they could load GBU-12 on their Chengdu F-7 and laser designate targets using Super King Air ISR aircraft.the question now is,does the Super King Air ISR aircraft FLIR pod have the capability to designate target or they for ISR role only !?
pakistan air force F-7 jet armed with GBU-12 laser guided bombs Seems Pakistan make use of WMD-7 too. They also ordered for some from ASELSAN. |

nemesis4u: Why don't u first target the service providers , install ur relevant support equipment's at the MSC or BSC and if required at the relevant BTS choke points .
Every BTS has a fixed coverage , so any call in or out of that BTS or any BTS in that region can be monitored and fixed from the MSC/BSC if relevant software/hardware r installed. Handheld COTS equipment's like GSM direction finders can be ported and provided to the ground troops who will feed the captured info to track the hostile very accurately. Or simply u can clone the sims in a jiffy with the gained info and hand them promptly to the ground troops .
Only requirement will be stationing of liaison personal at the MSC/BSC who will update and dessiminate the info as required
That what u can develop ur capabilities in a more sustainable way and implement them within the technology constraints at present.
This will build up ur experience and allow ur to identify ur technological shortcomings if any and also help u to identify the relevant technologies u need to develop in order to move to a much more capable mobile system.
I will always suggest a bottoms up approach for u when it comes to developing tech in-house, since I want u to succeed but the final decision is yours to take as u will know ur capabilities better rather than me or other's .
Whatever u do I wish u success

The old product below is from an Ind.. private company specializing in intelligence and surveillance . In fact they r one of the top companies in this field, not much is known about them their clients includes almost half the intelligence agencies plus corporates . Yes, I understand you. I already typed something but had to clear it off before DSS pick me up tomorrow morning on how such is being done. However, I find your post attractive. I'll forward it to the right section something good can come out of it. We have various projects / products available but just as tech demonstrators. We've been using some facilities in which we're even purchased some equipments to move on in our project. Once our own facility is fully ready in few months, I'll be attaching pictures and then I can talk more on some products. |

Maybe you can fund it. Indians are damn rich you know. Watching those Bollywood movies and their very large apartment. |

nemesis4u: More or less , u might search for EW in the technical thread for additional info. There r other systems too but due to operational secrecy and compartmentalisation no info is given out .
U might get some clue with respect to some of these systems in the technical thread where I once posted around 20 such systems from Indi... private companies, odunayaw might remember about them he was pretty concerned about their misuse
How will u block VoIP ? It is simply a protocol where voice is converted to data thereby avoiding the regular cellular / telecom choackpoints . It is quite impossible to trace such calls forget about intercepting them What if I tell u messaging apps like WhatsApp with additional encryption services will have everybody running in circles , would u believe me? That too from a simple handset.
Terrorists use them regularly in fact they combine them with military grade comms/tech provided by regular state / military sponsoring them . in fact it is a cat and mouse game , terrorists and their supporters keeping coming out with new military and civilian solution Everytime we break them.
Iterations of software is enough to ruin existing capabilities forget about hardware upgrade when that happens simply put ur on the back foot . I consider Whatspp, Skype to be some voip service too. Terrorist can turn them into a means of communication since cell calls are being intercepted. Most especially the use of whatsapp voice note. Once whatsapp is being blocked then such can be neglected. Like china blocking the use of whatsapp and google services. |

BruncleZuma: In addition to that a mobile phone running a Network Analyzer can even see the signals from the drone as these cheap ones use WiFi. Yes it should. Moreover, I'm thinking about ESM ( Electronic support measure) . The technology can be deployed to cover over up to 80KM depending on how design/technology allows. area so let say 5-10 units or this are being deployed to some strategic places in the north east to cover up to 400KM in total at minimum. The systems will be capable of analyzing Every single network that moves in the NE. Capable of intercepting any listening to every cell calls made Capable of intercepting any walkie talkie communications that doesn't belong to the military. There's a guy in Nigeria that runs a security firm. He's been able to wiretap mobile phones and turn the phone microphone into a mobile listening device. He's a Nigerian and a cyber and electronic warfare expert. I met him during a symposium organized by AOC. So I feel the following capabilities will go a very long way in dealing with bokoharam till they start communicating with paper. As a cyber warfare specialist, his organizations will also be capable of doing some stuffs I wouldn't want to mention here. There are solutions that can be offered to the military but only if they're willing to try it out. Cc: nemesis4u, Odunayaw bidexii |

nemesis4u: From where I come half of the tango's r located tracked identified and eliminated becz of utilization of such resources .
They r an integral asset for COIN In fact we have what u can call as the world's first dedicated and operationally in use LIC (low intensity conflict) EW system.
I posted about them in the technical thread previously A pic to highlight the capabilities ,this is not the end all system, many other different systems exists both on ground air and in space operated by multiple agencies
There was a time when calls made over VoIP gave us headache only the CIA and mossad had the capability to intercept them , with some help we managed to develop the necessary technology Is this the only information on that product? And plus is there any other one also in use. I doubt bokaram uses voip. If they do, the best thing is to block the use of such service but then friendly forces will n be affected in such area. |

bidexiii: on a crash site where a hardware worth million of dollars. the NAF should av provided the ground troops with ISR. ? No, I meant something like. That definitely wasn't bokoharam strong hold. To me, the units on ground probably requested for air backup immediately they noticed movements from bokoharam. ISR was performed and then air backup was sent it but unfortunately a helicopter crashed which changed the mission. My issue is prior to that, that's a very large number of bokoharam, they should have been detected before getting close to our own troops. |

Stephandeswardt: The shilka and the 73mm gun....which has more potential? A single sweep from the shilka would have done a lot....the troops didnt even manouver, they just left equipment, i think the crash site was bombed by our jets....
We dont arm our mraps with gpmgs again in the north east,we use HMGs..
They should have divided the bh...into sections, distrubted weapons and men so each section can engage the section carved out
Looking at BH body language....initially they were jittery, the lack of resistance emboldened them. The shilka could have wiped them from a far distance. Here's the problem. The guys on ground do not even know what's going on around them. They only know we have approaching bokoharam. No idea of the type of weapons they field or the direction they're coming from. Bokoharam got so close up to 50M and launched the 73mm on their position and to me, their main target was the shilka and once it was destroyed, the military had no other option. For bokoharam to have assembled in that huge number then the guys performing ISR are missing something. Here is it Bokoharam will only attack villages or military post. Now, ISR should be conducted on own troops locations 20km within and then trust me you'll find these guys hideout. Don't just go flying around looking for bokoharam. You can get them in their large numbers around troops locations. |

bidexiii: Hmmnn.......?
A good mortar section.....
When BHT closed in on you less than 50 metres, flanked from different directions and AA rounds straying all around in the air. The only saviour that day could have been a proper IFV /AFV dusting out a huge fire power. The issue is bokoharam had situation awareness. To me, their first target was the shilka and once it was destroyed morale went down. Not even the US SF or Russian SOS would have made a difference with MRAPS armed with just guns. Moreover, the terrain is an open environment. There was no where to take cover. |

davillian: Oya go and comment on a muslim tread on NL Lol I am not going to do that. I'm not pleased with that decision of making me take an oath before posting on their topics. See the issue is some people are extremist who take religion to be too serious. I mean they despise people from a different religion but then it's not about the religion itself. It's about the person. We have those people among we Christians too. I have some northerners as friends whom we render help and work together perfectly without minding our different beliefs. So what else someone from the south? It all boils down to an individual mindset. |

Odunayaw: Taking into consideration I haven't watched the video and Jake says both parties were danger close High altitude kaboom would be a no no
Only CAS flyables could have gone low enough to reach out and swat those flies. The Hinds could have taken out the 76mm at least Danger close but looking at the beginning of the video, 500kg bomb won't even come close to our troops. They kept advancing. They were well positioned. |

Intercepting BHT communications. I mean masking their entire area so every single call is being and even walkie talkie communications Is being monitored? |

The jf17s is not built only for acrobatic purpose only, it's a multirole fighter jet built to take out ground target.
It takes a dare devil pilot of a Mi24/35 to attack such gathering of enemies with AA guns attacking from different directions.
What we need here is a combination of a faster jet and precision guided muinition/bomb. He needs to watch the video. Except the MI35 will be coming from own troop position then launching ATGM and rockets at BHT. The problem now is that these guys were spread out. |

altogether I think TRADOC isn't flexible at all. All these lessons we have learnt constantly from ECOMOG years to Boko Insurgency and what do we show for it? Repetitive mistakes on home soil? Dammit!
Hopefully they get the SF units to track the spoors of the boko people to trail them back to their enclaves and harass them ISR gets a coordinate and the JF17 drops the bomb. When are we to receive the Tucano? |
