Nigeria Police "Special" IRT.

Team leader in Blue shirt, ACP Abba Kyari.

The team responsible for the arrest and killing of one of the country Most Notorious Kidnapping/Robbery Gang who had been on the Police radar since 2013.

Gang leader was freed by gang members late January of this year while his fate was being decided in court. I believe we(esp Nigerians on this thread) still remember this and the fatalities that follows.

This team were on their tail and went on their trail from Imo state to Abia state and finally to Rivers state where they were captured and leader was killed.

Intel had it that gang leader killed his GF and 8 members of the girlfriend's family(too bad) because the latter was accused of stealing his #45million. Gang was also responsible for over 200 victims death(from kidnapping and robbery Ops).

Even with the low gear at their disposal, they were still able to pull the stunt(s) they performed.

Kudos!!!
IRT is a great team they're so good at intelligence and their undercover game is so strong. I'm sure those guys went in with Pistols while undercover and switched to their riffle later.

About the minimum gear, those guys were on undercover so gear has to be minimum. My respect goes to ACP Abba Kyari and his team.

Already this has generated panic among currency traders who are yet to recover from the losses some of them have suffered in the last two weeks owing to sharp and sudden appreciation of the Naira.
Bullshit. They have had enough time already to enjoy the depreciation of naira.

Are we operating farmlands that needs to be sprayed with herbicides cuz that's what I see them do with these planes o.

I think we better spend more setting up simulated training centres of modern aircrafts with the hopes that we will acquire some than waste aviation fuel on these.
If you know nothing, please don't type. That's a basic trainer even USA has an equivalent. Every combat pilot goes through this.

Iran is not a threat.

even the US is not covered.
Then why are they pointing their UHF -VHF radars at IRAN? Why do they have their TMDB facing IRAN?

Or probably the west has a new method, getting into Russian territory through IRAN? Bypassing Iranian ADS, jamming their radars you know. The Russians won't be expecting it that way.

Anyway Nemesis240 over to you.

One of the combatant class. They are currently undergoing refit.
We patrol upto Sao Tome, Togo, Ghana etc and with current capability, I think we are a green water navy.

Op lacks buisness statregy. I'll never stay under because of a foreign manufacturer.

There are better ways to deal with a competitor, go to Quora and read first hand B2B plans. I don't like typing too much but your points about competing with a foreign competitor holds no water.

the implication won't only affect aerial warfare if i am understanding you correctly, radars have endless applications, so what about stealth tanks in development, boats and other naval vessels? and if china has twarted stealth technology with this quantum radar development why are they also investing in stealth ??
The issue is, the Quantum mode will detect some aircrafts but it's ability will soon be phased out. It's Quantum so trust the yanks to develop something else to counter it.

I have been following that program for long. The only problem is that, a new generation of stealthy aircraft will have to be developed in response to such technology.

lionel4power:
chinese engineers just announced that they have successfully tested a quantum radar.
what this means is that if its TRUE then stealth is already dead and the F35 lightning II is automatically a piece of $1 trillion junk.

.
a quantum radar operates quite different from a regular radar, it works by sending out one photon from a pair of photon.. the photon that is left behind will behave EXACTLY like the photon sent out. its a freak of nature, since we all know that a photon doesn't have mass and its the bedrock of ALL electromagnetic wave.

the theory was discovered by Albert Eistern himself. and the chinese are exploiting it AS USUAL.

if the report is TRUE then all I can say is RIP Stealth, RIP F-22 RAPTOR, RIP B-2, RIP PAK T-50, RIP F-35, RIP AMCA. RIP RADAR ABSORBENT MATERIAL (RAM). RIP USAF.
Stealth can't die. If it's Quantum, something else will tackle it.

In its continued bid to sustain air power supremacy over mounting security challenges in the country especially terrorism, militancy, herdsmen/rustling and banditry, the Nigerian Airforce has made another breakthrough by adapting the L-39 ZA trainer aircraft to a fighter aircraft for combat roles.

Before the feat was achieved, the L-39ZA albatross aircraft which is an update version of the L-29ZA was for years, the training aircraft for fighter pilots in the Nigerian Airforce to fly either the Alpha Jets or the now rested MIGs, Mikoyan Guverish fighter jets.

It has now been fitted with long distance rockets and canon launching and firing capabilities.

A statement by Group Captain Ayodele Famuyiwa, Director, Airforce Public Relations, noted that, “The decision to adapt the trainer was informed by the need to commit more platforms to the various Internal Security Operations in which the NAF is currently engaged.

He said, “Hitherto, the NAF had employed the L-39ZA aircraft solely for basic flying training though the aircraft is capable of undertaking light ground attack.

“However, this combat capability of the aircraft was never exploited before now because of the role to which it was employed.

“Preparatory to the new role, the NAF on Monday successfully test fired the weaponized aircraft fitted with rockets and canons.

“The firing display, was conducted at NAF Air Range in Kwenev, Makurdi, and Benue State.

“This feat marks another milestone in the drive by the current leadership of the NAF to achieve self-reliance through research and development.

“Recall that the L-39ZA aircraft was inducted into NAF inventory as a basic trainer in November 1986.

“While retaining this role, it has now been adapted to undertake light ground attack”, he said.
