Yeah, many colleges don't ask for it, if you are applying for diploma or PGD.

But for master's, SOP is often required.

Teemenzo:
I guess probably some school don't ask for it. When i applied for my own, fanshawe never asked me thiugh it was through their affiliated agent i applied. I can't say if they submitted on my behalf as it was compulsory for us to apply through their affiliated agents.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 21 by technix:
Hi,
SOP is basically meant for school admission while letter of explanation (LOE) is for visa application. You only need LOE for visa.

I actually don't know how people arrived at SOP for visa over time.

Filanodivine:
Hello, please is the statement of purpose the same with letter of explanation? If it’s different are both necessary. Secondly for the SOP, how will I address the letter like name and address

In general, Okanagan waives it. You can further check your program specific requirements though or email them.

I have attached a proof here. Check number 3.

By the way, I 'haven't seen' a Canadian school that requires IELTS from Nigerians.

Anosky:
Pls does anyone know if okanagan college waives IELTS for Nigerians?

TravelRe: Canada Spouse Open Work Permit (sowp)timeline by technix: 4:05pm On Feb 25, 2022
It's clear then. Please try to get payslips from your employer in Nigeria where you are currently on leave.

You can then add the ones from your part-time job in Canada.

Ordinarily, not all students are working, so they wouldn't have requested for payslips if you didn't have a full-time work.

Best of luck!

nochyks87:
To add to what jogojogo has said when applying for your spouse did your by chance submit any nigerian job or claim to get a study leave from your work place in nigeria? If yes they might want to see that. If no then submit the pay slips of your part time job in canada. But sincerely something must have trigered or waranted that request so think well and be careful in responding. It will end in praise

Just went through my documents i submitted in 2019, I attached a study leave letter with pay from my office in Nigeria. Does this mean I have to source for pay slips and include them? This quite confusing. Spoke with some people this morning and they advised that this request letter is specifically for spouses already on PGWP.

Hi,

There are many schools that offer MBA in Canada. Use google and try to focus on those schools that use the GPA for the last 60 credit hours of study or last 2 years of study. With that, the GPAs of PGD and MSc only can be considered.

Check the University of Manitoba. They may also give the person a GMAT waiver (since he/she has MSc).

Ijeks32:
i have a question ,someone who had a third class in first degree, then has done PGD and also has a Msc as well, but want to do an MBA in Canada will the person be considered.Pls i need help on how to go about it,an agent wants to take advantage of our desperation to get study opportunity in Canada to charge us 1.5m ..that he will get us school

Good day,

No, it is not a must you have a sponsor. In fact, self-sponsor is 'generally' preferred. Just be sure the fund is sufficient and its continous availability is guaranteed for the duration of the program.

Forwardxxx:
Good day All, is it a must one must have a sponsor? Most of the applications here i've seen had sponsors...What are the chances of sponsoring oneslf? Is there a chance of success?

TravelRe: Canada Spouse Open Work Permit (sowp)timeline by technix:
Hi,

In additon to others' comments, may I ask:
1. Was your program supposed to be for a year?
2. Were you 'ideally' expected to have had a post-graduation work permit already?
3. The study permit you used to support your spouse's application expires/expired when?

It is very unlikely they will ask you for payslips when you are not expected to have a full-time work.

nochyks87:
My people, I need your advice on this request letter given to my wife. she submitted her application since January 7, 2021(over one year plus). I am a student here in Canada and I do not have a full time job. Kindly advise please

OK. In the process of applying for a study permit online, once they choose the option that the kids are accompanying them, a personalized list of required forms will be generated.

Other documents needed are the passports and birth certificates of the children. They should also ensure they meet the fund requirements mentioned here (https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/study-canada/study-permit/get-documents.html).

TravelRe: Canada Spouse Open Work Permit (sowp)timeline by technix:
1. Stamped passport, admission letter (just in case), IRCC introduction letter, proof of vaccination.

2. IRCC is changing travel rules as from 28 February. Other requirements and documents can be found here (https://travel.gc.ca/travel-covid/travel-restrictions/covid-vaccinated-travellers-entering-canada).

3. The link in 2 above would answer this too.

1b. Renew both simultaneously.

2b. Log into your portal, and start a new application. You will be asked questions that will generate the forms you have to fill (e.g., are you applying for spouse, etc).

Foxs:
Please I have a few questions.
Anyone with current travel information as it seems the last information here is not so recent;
1. Please which documents are required at the airport and POE?
2. Will I need to apply for Travel exemption/authorization letter since I'm fully vaccinated?
3. Is the covid test still required 72hrs before?

Also, please house I need information on how to renew both study permit and work permit inside Canada.
1. Can the renewal of both Study permit and spousal work permit be done simultaneously or the study permit should be renewed first then work permit after?
2. Any info on how to go about with renewal

I look forward to response ejooor
Thanks and God bless.

Hi,
You can check University of Manitoba, but it seems only Fine Arts doesn't require math (https://umanitoba.ca/sites/default/files/2020-10/waec-curriculum-sheet.pdf).

I would advise you focus on courses in social sciences and humanities, then check the specific requirements of each school. You may have to do a lot of browsing yourself, in case no one makes further suggestions.

You can also use UTME brochure as a guide to shortlist possible courses that will not require math.

thompson4real:

Which School and Course doesn’t require mathematics for undergraduate study that I can apply for.

No, it is not enough. You need at least 14,000CAD apart from the tuition.

Also please is 8m proof of funds enough for student visa and sowp for a 5m first year tuition fees.

At times, your eligibility review will not show 'started' until your visa is approved. You will just see eligibility review passed.

So, don't bother yourself with checking the status. Just keep praying and wait for a notification from IRCC.

KellyKk:
Yes positive mind sir as always.

But as a second time applicant does all those Background check and criminal palaba be check again after the one they checked in September last year when they refuse me on personal assets and financial status.

Ebukawilson13:
Thank you so much for your reply. But that's the issue i can't get the transcript anytime soon till like September or can i use my admission letter with school fees receipts and course registration instead?.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 21 by technix: 3:36am On Feb 22, 2022
You are welcome.

You can take them when leaving now if that is more convenient. Just mention in your application and LOE that they are accompanying you (and that they are US citizens). But also be sure that the proof of fund you submit covers the required amount for the three of you.

Once you land in Canada, at the point where you will be issued your own study permit, you can apply for theirs. The officers will guide you.

aamey15:
Thank you for your response I appreciate it.

Does that mean I will take only the 2 kids (American citizens ) when leaving now or after I have gotten to Canada and I apply for the whole family. at what point do they get the study permit I am to apply for.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 21 by technix:
Sorry to hear about your experience.

For admission, don't include your OND if O'level is sufficient (and your OND transcript isn't ready).

But for visa application, include your OND (I assume you have the certificate or statement of result). So, you won't have more than a 3-year study gap even if you haven't been working. The VOs won't go to your school to ask whether you used OND to seek admission or not.

Ebukawilson13:
Hello guys,
I hope you all are fine.
Please i need your advice on this matter.
I left secondary school 2016 i got admitted into a polytechnic in Nigeria 2017, finished my Ond 2019.
I had 2 references 2020 covid year. I tried applying for admission into Mun Newfoundland but they requested for my Ond transcript which the school refused to release less i address the references.
Still in the process 2021 i lost my dad on February.
Long story short i retook those courses and I'm currently trying to get the transcript but they are saying that the result is not ready and it can take till September.

I already applied to another school in Canada with my Ond result still waiting for their decision though.

Here is my problem; the 6 years study gap if I'm not going to include my ond years and delays.

Please how do i address this.
I really need your professional advice.

You have enough hometies: your spouse and son (assuming they are not going with you now), your companies, landed properties, study leave.

You will submit your marriage certificate. You can add the evidence of the active company and your landed properties. You are not required to, but you can add the study leave letter.

But I can't find any proof of fund here (you need a statement of account).

I salute everyone and especially the experts on the great platform. We shall all be favoured by God's grace.

2) I have 4 registered limited liability (construction, Farm, Logistics and Bakery) companies but 1 (construction) is most active with contracts from govts (Local and State).
3) I'm married with a son
4) I have Landed properties.
5) I'm a director to my wife registered business name (enterprise)
6) I have pension cert of my previous place of work including payslips, confirmation Letter and also redundancy letter which was the basis I started my own company.
7) I have a building as Inheritance but with other siblings and I'm the coordinator.
cool I don't pay myself salary in my company but share profits periodically.

Here my question; Are the above information enough to support my application especially proof of fund and home ties?

What should I include and documents should be removed before submission?

Do I required to submit letter of introduction and study leave to be signed by the second director and Secretary?

Should I submit CAC for the company or just the active 1?

Please kindly guide on what documents I should consider for my application.

Thank you

Kind Regards.

I could only see one 'same day event' here, which is biometric update. And that's possible.

The person seemed to have booked medical exam in advance, and the date of his exam was a day before he submitted his application. He could have decided to submit his visa application the same day of the medical exam too, since he had booked the date in advance and he had the choice to submit his visa application any day.

Also, if one submits a paper application, one will ideally do biometric the same day.

I hope the answer helps.

User1010:
Hello I saw someone’s timeline in this naira land forum
And had the same date of everything
Same day of submission and same day of biometrics
Even did same day of upfront medicals
Only that the person application was 2021 but mine is 2022
Is this Possible?

Hi aamey15,

I replied you earlier, but I am reposting if you missed it.

1. It is preferable to apply alone first and apply for family later.

2. You can submit your statement alone if that covers the required funds. If not, you can submit your statement and hubby's

3. Yes, you got adequate home ties.

4. No, it won't be an issue. Moreover, an EE profile is not the same as EE application.

**You might be aware that you won't need visitor visa application for your two children who are US citizens. And if they will require study permits, you can apply for them at the port of entry.

Best of luck!

Good day my wonder people.. thank you so so much for all you do .

2. Should it be self sponsor or hubby and I should both sponsor together or just have hubby sponsor me
3. My mum is still in Nigeria, hubby’s parents are also in Nigeria , my business will definitely run even when I am not in the country(. Hubby has landed properties, his other business aswell (which I am a major shareholder, I have my pension , and can secure a study leave from my work) is this enough to serve as proof of ties or would you advise otherwise.
4. I applied for the express entry previously but my profile has expired in December 2022 will that be an issue with this current student visa application?

Thank you so much I will really appreciate your response,

How much do you have for your stay? Put the same amount for spouse and children. So, if you are providing a statement of account of 12K, you put 12K for spouse and 12K for children.

Will someone else provide you money for your stay? If you choose no, it should give you a further option to choose parent.

You shouldn't have said 'some people here just respond to what they don't know'. It was unnecessary. You could have just given your advice and walked away.

Anyway, medical exam is only valid for 12 months if you haven't entered Canada, even if your visa has been approved. I have attached some evidence here.

Well, that's what LOE is meant for. You have the opportunity of convincing the VO about your decision for the course.

Best of luck!

they are business courses under the bachelor of art program in the school I applied for, like economics, labor studies, business management, global political management . 'In general', a VO shouldn't claim a course is not valuable. You are probably overthinking, lol.

I would like to ask:
1. Why did you apply for a BA again when you already have a BA in English (I assume)? Why not an advanced degree?

2. Have you applied for study permit already?

I would advise the same thing Teemenzo said.

And as for sponsorship, you will say 'Myself'

Be sure to get a letter from your department/prof mentioning your tuition and funding. Many departments issue a 'To Whom It May Concern' letter for visa application when one is funded.

In your LOE, please do the finance breakdown to show how you have covered the minimum fund required.

Best of luck!

Good day house.

Please I have a question. This is the scenario. I have a 21k funding out of which 16k is my tuition leaving me with 5k for living expenses. Now I don't have money, neither does my parents. My uncle on the other hand has money and would be willing to help. My question is
1. when stating how I will be sponsored, should I say myself/parents or say others.
2. would it be better my uncle sends like 3 million to my dad and then my dad sends the 3 million to me with a gift deed. But I don't show his account so they don't see the lumpsum deposit.
3. Would it be better I just use my uncle with his bank statement and he sends me the 3 million with a gift deed and other documents?

If you have a better solution please feel free to state it. @makano @ketima @technix I would also appreciate your kind inputs as well. Thank you.
