Two of her sons were governors of two different states in the US. Is that possible in this our enclave?
Follygunners: Yes, Jebb was the Governor of Florida in 1999/2000 when his brother, George was a Presidential candidate and eventual President back then. George was also a former Governor of Texas fmor 8yrs and also spent another 8yrs as the U.S President. So was their father, Former Governor and President.
The IAH airport in Houston, TX was renamed after their father even though they bear the same name: George Bush
I guess you can say Barbara was wife and mother to several Governors and Presidents.
slimfit1: He didnt stop corruption in lagos how will he do that in Nigeria?
He developed a website in Lagos for almost N100m. When asked, he said it was what was recommended to him. If they recommend that a packet of matches is N1m, must it be approved as recommended? Yeye.
I guese the figures shown in no. 7 is amount spent on players. If true, you are not correct because this season, I know Liverpool bought Chamberlain from Arsenal for about £45M & Virjik from Soutampton for £70M.
fabinfos: Lately, football has been very interesting and exciting. There have been a plethora of fascinating lessons of life from football which everyone and anyone can actually reflect. Here, I bring to you 10 lessons learnt from the quarter finals of the UEFA Champions League.
1. Manolas & De Rossi:
These two Roma players were the ones that scored the two own goals against the Catalans in the first leg of the finals. Everyone was displeased with these two for their errors. However, in the second leg, each of them scored a decisive goal that was enough to send Barça packing from Champions League. Lesson : Don't be quick to blame anybody in life. Don't feel offended by how people treat. This is because he who makes you angry today can make you happy tomorrow.
2. Liverpool vs Manchester City
Liverpool eliminated and humiliated the premier league's table topper with class. This feat they couldn't accomplished in the league even. Lesson : Don't feel intimidated by the mighty of your problem. Face it head on with determination and a single goal- to win. This way, your boldness will scare your problem and it will be easily conquered.
3 . AS Roma vs Barca
Football lovers all over the world, especially Barcelona fans would have been heavily shocked with the final outcome of this match. Who would had a thought that Roma would maul and qualify against Barça. I have never been born the last term Roma even reached Semis. Lesson : Football is a game of two halves the same way life is. Put the greatness of your enemy behind you and you will see an ordinary enemy that is easily domitable.
4. Roma's chairman
When the final whistle was blown in the second league which meant Roma qualified, the man jubilated in the released video to the extent of getting a fine. Although, he agreed to pay the fine even more with excitement. Lesson : When you are happy, don't hide it. Let the world knows you really are. Showing your happiness weakens the strength of your enemy.
5. Sevilla's elimination
Sevilla suffered a 1-2 defeat from the first leg in Spain and they couldn't still register a goal even despite their tough fight and struggles in the return match which ended a goalless draw. Lesson: Life is not all about winning the same way football is not. It's not disappointment to lose, it's just the way it used to be sometimes.
6. Juventus's fans and Ronaldo
When Christiano Ronaldo scored the second goal in the first leg with overhead kick against Juventus, the camera was directed to Juve fans who were seen clapping in a standing ovation for their opponent in what means "No! You're the best. You deserve it". Ronaldo, seen this, didn't jubilate again and instead, put his hand on his chest and bent his head a little, a sign that means "Thank you". Exciting! Isn't it Lesson : Strive to be successful to the extent that those that used to condemn you won't have a choice than to commend you. And always learn to give unto others what they give unto you- reciprocate the good.
7. Barcelona and Manchester City
Man City: +£354m eliminated Barcelona: +£171m eliminated Roma: -£33m qualified Liverpool: -£38m qualified Lesson: Just because you attend a public school doesn't mean you can't be better than someone that attends a private school. It's not always about money, it's about your value.
8. Buffon's red card
Being a captain in football simply means you must command the level of respect in all situations on pitch and off-pitch. Buffon was red carded as he didn't show manners when complaining to the referee. Lesson : I go here by one of my University lecturers' saying... "Don't ever pick up a fight with an authority because you will never win." And always apply sense of humility and diplomacy in the presence of elders.
9. Lucas Vasquez's Penalty
Benatia in the post-match conference admitted that he pushed Lucas a little but he wasn't expecting him to fall. This mistake cost Juventus as Cristiano Ronaldo converted the spot kick that heaved the sigh of relief in their fans. Lesson : Don't be like Benatia who lived in a glass house and was still throwing stone. Avoid taking decisions that can injure you or people around you.
10. Real Madrid!
It took Madrid injury time before they could score the decisive goal that ensures their qualification. Lesson : Always fight till the end because it's the end that matters. Don't ever think of giving up. Always stay focus in your dream and know that it is the end that justifies the means. Juve lacked this lesson.
It appears people are not allowed to decide on what they want, as in no freewill. People are forced to either bend or break. That doesnt seem right to me.
alBHAGDADI: I don't blame the father, I blame Islam which inspired him.
Sahih Bukhari (84:57) - [In the words of] "Allah's Apostle, 'Whoever changed his Islamic religion, then kill him.'"
Sahih Bukhari (52:260) - "...The Prophet said, 'If somebody (a Muslim) discards his religion, kill him.' "
It could be bribe, it could be dash. If na bribe, he no show good example at all as an officer. See the way he eye the money as if to check whether he correct N50. The man garri wan fall o. If he fall, that belle go enter by force.
Kobicove: The going is still good...let's hope its lasts
Another baby mama loading. We are in the last days. It was honourable those days for women to marry and have babies. This days, ones change dey man hand, they ready to drop one for you and move on.
babslepe: I get your point everyone is a suspect in this case including the father of the child the only innocent person is the dead baby every other person in that building is a suspect
babslepe: and what makes you think the baby’s biological mother can’t put the baby in the drum to get rid of her rival fear women
No real mother does that. A case in the bible where king Solomon tried to share a baby into 2 is a reference but I have not even said the baby was killed by the step mother. I only used this forum to say what I know about step mothers and I know if you are a regular reader of stories on this forum especially stories emanating from northern Nigeria where polygamy is common, I am sure you wont ask me the question you raised.
Even if she nose something about it. They should at least give her the respect of being a corper.
Whatever happened to espirit de corps? This is wrong; We were told in our days that the NYSC ID card gives corpers immunity for their 1year of service. A serving corper should not and can not be arrested till the expiration of their service.
Muckross1122: Abdulaziz, an 8-month-old baby has been found dead inside a four-feet drum of water in Edo State.
The incident happened at number 53 Obakhavbaye street in Benin City. It was gathered that mother of the baby had gone to urinate outside at about 6am but didn’t find the baby where she kept him.
After three hours of searching around the house, the baby was found dead inside a water drum. The landlord of the house, Ali Abubakar, said he was observing his prayers when he heard shoutings and wailings.
Ali said he went downstairs and was told that Abdulaziz died inside a drum of water. “It is difficult for that baby to open that drum and enter inside. We don’t know what happened yet but it is a mystery.
A neighbor who gave her name as Blessing Akpo said it was only God that would unravel the baby’s killers. “I have never seen where a baby that is eight months old will open a drum of water, enter inside and close it.” . . Mother of the baby could not talk as she was still in shock. Policemen from Aideyan Police station have invited the deceased father and his two wives for interrogation.
FarahAideed: And what even makes you think the South West will vote for Buhari
The literacy level in the South West will not make them follow failed politicians blindly except those whose sense of judgement have been beclouded by religious affiliation.
SweetJoystick: He go die of heart attack when him lose
If he loose na people like Amaechi, Orji Uzor Kalu, Fashola go first die of heart attack before he go reach Buhari. The day Buhari loose the election, go look street, he go be like say Nigeria win world cup.
ChangeIsCostant: Two ladies decided to slug it out today in public after a heated quarrel in Sapele area of Delta state. One of the ladies (the bigger one) had to pull off her top in order to properly descend on her colleague without any hindrance. The ladies whose cause of quarrel was not revealed - were left to fight each other for some time before they were separated after much fisticuffs.
If you condemn this now, they will tell you PDP did same. Must we use past bad examples to justify continuation? This is tuggery and should be condemned by all.
The suspects reportedly attacked supporters of the former vice-president whom they met in the office.
Jacob Dickson, spokesman of Atiku’s campaign in the north-west geopolitical zone, said items worth hundreds of millions of naira were destroyed during the attack. Aliyu Abbas, chairman of the Atiku Care Foundation Chairman, said it was “barbaric for the thugs to have attacked the office and innocent supporters who were celebrating there”.
A witness was quoted as saying the “thugs” came in three tricycles, spy on the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) members before launching the attack.
“We (supporters of Atiku) went to the PDP northwest zonal rally that took place at the party’s secretariat in Katsina and returned to celebrate the colourful outing in our befitting campaign office refurbished in support of Atiku’s candidature ahead of the forthcoming general elections in 2019 when the Armed bandits and Armed thugs stormed and attacked us,” the witness reportedly said.
“Initially, they came in to spy on us before going back to pick up their arms to launch the attack. They smashed windscreens, mirrors and bodies of vehicles parked within the premises of the campaign office with cutlasses, sticks and others they were carrying on their hands. https://www.thecable.ng/wp-content/uploads/2018/04/Atiku-CampaignOffice1-768x576.jpg The campaign office
“They damage our fence, brought down our party flags erected round the fence and went away with some of the party flags.
“We have reported the case at the Divisional Police Office in Batagarawa and the DPO with his men have swung into action immediately.”
kolaaderin: The same way Trump is resting now in the US. Are they not almost age mates abi what is the difference. Nigerians and double standard, for for the hatred of buhari.
I know you will ask me for proof. When an American tells you he is 20 years. Thats his age. Baba is more than 76 na. Abi wetin you think?
Purewatermeji: We Yoruba Muslims will always love and support the north and Buhari. No matter what the igbos think, Buhari must rule us till 2023 whether he performs or not. He's a Muslim and that's more important
Your own na religious consideration. Thats all. Thats why I have hardly heard any of you speak out against the herdsmen attacks. Ultimately, God is the one to settle 2019.
chigoziri2403: Brace up Nigeria, Another four years of endless torture
Say no to Jibrin. I know he wont have a smoot sail like in 2015 because the ethnic card that made all northerners and muslims to vote for him wont play out. Also, I wonder what promises they will make this time arround. I believe all the bragging will ease when PDP gets a formidable and energetic candidate. It will then be a choice between Buhari and that candidate. To me all the noise about PMB and his magic wand has been dymistified because it is now clear that all the promises they made were desperate measures to get power at all means.
At Buhari's age, a man thinking properly should be resting and reconciling with his God and expecting that his exit visa will be approved at any moment not involving in dirty politics like the one we have in this country.
He dey learn to thief. The ones wey escape go don fade teytey because the captured guy go soon bring police come knock their door.
dainformant: A young man has been apprehended after he and three accomplices robbed a woman of her ATM Card. According to reports, the woman explained that while using the ATM at a service station she was distracted by the suspect while his accomplices stole her bank card.
As the suspects ran towards a brown Toyota Corolla, she screamed for assistance.
Onlookers managed to apprehend one of the men while his accomplices fled in their getaway vehicle. The mob demanded that the suspect hand over the bank card and when he informed them that it was not in his possession they began to assault him.
The suspect was severely injured during the assault.
He was placed under arrest and handed over to Police for further investigation.
Roger3D: The IPOB yoots would rather the money be left to the thieves to squander, after all supporting criminality is a part of their DNA
Everybody agrees there are a lot of thieves in PDP as shown in the looter's list. The question that is not still answered well is, are there no looters also in APC? This is the question begging for answer.
