No, you’re not secretly a psychopath hellbent on inflicting pain and destruction upon the world (unless you actually go ahead and punch them in the face. That is wrong).


EVERYONE has weird, dark, borderline-insane thoughts. They’ll pop into your mind for no apparent reason. You don’t actually want to do what your mind is suggesting, but you just need to consider an alternative reality in which you do.

It’s totally normal. Everyone thinks these things. Right?

1. ‘What if I just flung myself in front of this bus/car/train?’

A mother born with two sets of reproductive organs has spoken about how her two children were conceived in separate wombs.

Faye Wilkins, 31, from Plymouth, was diagnosed with a rare condition called uterus didelphys - causing her to have two sets of reproductive organs.

Doctors warned Faye that her chances of carrying a baby to full term was minimal but miraculously, after six miscarriages, she went on to have two children - one in each womb.
After giving birth to two healthy babies, Molly, seven and George, two, Ms Wilkins is now sharing her story to raise awareness about the condition.

Ms Wilkins, a healthcare assistant, said: 'At the age of 14 I couldn’t believe it when doctors told me I was born with two vaginas, two cervixes and two wombs.

'I was in complete shock as I’d never noticed the condition before as the differences were only internal.

'All my friends had started their periods but I was only suffering from stomach cramps but nothing else.

'As the pain got worse my mum, Polly, took me to the doctors thinking I had an ovarian cyst because a lump had formed but no-one would scan me.

'At least eight months later and multiple visits to my GP, my uterus ruptured when I went to the toilet and I heard a huge pop and knew something inside me had exploded.

'I was in agony, there was so much blood and I rushed to hospital where doctors examined me and finally diagnosed me with UD.

'The condition had caused a blockage and my menstrual blood to build up, which had reached 12cm in size.

Joanna Giannouli, was born with Rokitansky syndrome, which means she has no cervix, no womb and (until fairly recently) no upper vagina.It was not until she was 16 years old, after a family doctor referred her to the hospital when she still hadn’t menstruated, that she was formally diagnosed.

Joanna, 27, who currently lives in Oxford, spoke to indy100:

What's your most vivid memory about this condition?

When I was at the hospital for further examination, and after we were at her office, she said that I was never going to have children. Her manner was so sharp and blunt it almost cut me.

I felt sick, numb, I thought my dignity, my personality, my everything, was all lost. I felt empty. And this kind of feeling, it never left my side.

How many operations have you had since you have been diagnosed, and what are they? Do you need to have any more in the future?

At this stage, I have had 2 operations. One major reconstructive surgery when I was 18, when the doctors create a new vagina tunnel in order to have normal sexual intercourse.

I had another operation a couple of years later on my perineum, in order to expand the width of my vagina, as I call it.

Joanna doesn't need any more operations - at least for now - and she hopes to keep it this way.
What would happen if you wanted to have a baby?


Well, if I wanted to have a biological baby there is one solution, and it’s surrogacy [or] a womb transplant, then IVF. But it’s an extremely risky operation to begin with, still in clinical trial stage.

My last solution is adoption.

Since a recent interview with the BBC, what kind of reaction have people had? Have you met other women with the condition?

People from all over the world are sending me messages to congratulate me, to give me support, it’s really overwhelming, the love that I receive from people around the world, it’s extraordinary. I have spoken to numerous women who have this condition, and I feel so proud of them, so honoured that they decided to take the first step and talk about it.

It is like I have 'sisters' from all over the world.

Joanna will begin her studies in forensic psychology in September, and her determination to raise awareness has lit a fire.

So many women have it and most of them feel so ashamed, so isolated. I want to tell them that they are not alone, we have each other and they should not be afraid anymore about themselves, or guilty.

We are stronger than that. We owe it to ourselves and to the people who love us the most.

BRUSHING your teeth may ward of pancreatic cancer, scientists now claim.The deadly form of cancer has been found to be linked to two types of bacteria that also cause gum disease.
A team of researcher in the US discovered that people who had these two bugs in their mouths were also up to twice as likely to develop pancreatic cancer over the next 10 years.
The experts, who presented their results at the American Association for Cancer Research meeting in New Orleans, said that their findings offered an “accessible” way to prevent the disease.

They also added that it could possibly give doctors a cheap and easy way to screen for the disease.

Pancreatic cancer is the eleventh most common cancer in the UK - with around 9,000 people diagnosed each year.

And it is also one of the most deadly.

Only three per cent of pancreatic cancer patients survive for five years - compared to 87 per cent for breast cancer and 98 per cent for testicular cancer.
The disease has very few symptoms in the early stages, so often goes undetected until the cancer is too advanced.

The symptoms - which include back ache, jaundice and weight loss - are often mistaken for those of indigestion, acid reflux or even a strain on the back.

The presence of bacteria in the mouth could offer an effective screening test when it comes to early treatment.

The researchers, from New York University, tracked 732 people for over a decade, half of whom went on to develop pancreatic cancer and half remained well.

The scientists, who had taken oral samples at the beginning of the project, found that two forms of bacteria were directly linked to pancreatic cancer risk.

People with the P. gingivalis bug had a 59 percent greater chance of developing pancreatic cancer than those who did not, and those with the A. actinomycetemcomitans bug also had an increased risk of 119 per cent.

Both types of bug are known to be a cause of periodontitis - form of gum disease.

The team did add that they could not be sure that the bacteria actually caused the cancer - because they had only studied the statistical link.

Researcher Dr Jiyoung Ahn said: “Our study offers the first direct evidence that specific changes in the microbial mix in the mouth - the oral microbiome - represent a likely risk factor for pancreatic cancer along with older age, male gender, smoking, race and a family history of the disease.

“These bacterial changes in the mouth could potentially show us who is most at risk of developing pancreatic cancer.”

Dr Nigel Carter, CEO of the UK Oral Health Foundation, added: “Further investigation into this association needs to be carried out but if confirmed there’s no reason why a saliva test to detect for pancreatic cancer could not be taken by your dentist.

‘”This would be an enormously important shift in diagnosis which could ultimately save thousands of lives a year.

“Poor oral health has been linked with a multitude of problems affecting our general health. Heart disease, strokes, diabetes and premature births are just some of the things which have all been heavily linked with an unhealthy mouth.

“What we must remember is oral health is relatively simple to maintain.

“Keeping to a good routine that involves brushing your teeth for two minutes twice a day using a fluoride toothpaste and cutting down on how often you have sugary foods and drinks, are just two of the relatively easy things you can do."

The gossip website report how he penned the heartfelt note to a girl in his drama class he jokingly referred to as 'Beethoven' because of her piano skills.

He begins the missive by saying: 'Felt compelled to write u. Can't really explain it, but feel good vibes from u.

'Want u to know that u can tell me anything and if u ever need a shoulder 2 cry on, you can cry on mine.'
He continues: 'As u will soon find out, I do not spare words, I say what I feel. So if something I say scares u please don't panic because I tend 2 get over emotional.'

'It's almost like I've known you 4 years.'

Signalling his musicality, he says: 'We have so much in common. We both love Prince, we've both had out hearts broken and we both love candles'.

He signs it off with: 'What else could I ask for? C U 2morrow Beethoven. 4 eternity'.

The folded letter, which seems to have yellowed over time, was also densely illustrated with icons instead of words and also featured a sketch of a telephone with his number.

Not that this is the first time the deceased's historic notes have been sold to fans.

Last month, previously unreleased music - as well as handwritten lyrics and notes - were listed for sale after being discovered by a fan. The seller's father had reportedly 'worked with the rapper for years' and agreed to part with the items.

These included three notebooks filled with notes, ideas and lyrics for songs released and unreleased, as well as three CDs with some of the tracks.

Shakur, considered one of the greatest music artists in his genre and in general, was shot dead in Las Vegas in 1996 aged 25, in a murder which remains unsolved to this day.
As the 20th anniversary of his death approaches in September, fascination with the hip hop artists remains just as prevalent today: he has released just as many posthumous albums as he did when he was alive.

In 2012 he hit headlines again when his 'hologram' performed with Snoop Dogg at the Coachella festival.
