A University of Lagos first class graduate who scored the maximum 5.0 CGPA, Ayo Dada, was on Wednesday honoured by the House of Representatives.
The honour bestowed on Mr. Dada followed a motion by the Majority Leader, Femi Gbajabiamila.

“I believe as leaders and as a country it’s time we start celebrating our successes particularly in a period of great national despondency that has enveloped us for years now. As a House I believe we should recognize, celebrate and commend Mr. Ayodele so as to encourage him and give hope and inspiration to many others.

“To this end, I wish for you to join me as we suspend the House rules to invite Mr Ayodele Dada to the floor of the House on Tuesday 22nd March to honour the young man and his remarkable achievement. His story is compelling and inspirational to the youth and he represents and mirrors the hope of our tomorrow,” Mr. Gbajabiamila said urging the House.

Following the adoption of the motion, the lawmakers took turns to eulogise the honouree who was invited to stand before the lawmakers.

Mr. Dada was given a standing ovation by the lawmakers.

Speaking to PREMIUM TIMES after his appearance at the chamber of the House, he said “I was just standing there (House), feeling it was a dream and wishing it didn’t end.”

“Given my humble background, I never envisioned receiving a standing ovation from people I watched on TV. I am completely appreciative.”

He expressed “special gratitude” to Mr. Gbajabimiala.

Mr. Dada said he had no girlfriend throughout his four years as an undergraduate; though, he said he had “just female friends.

Truly the crime in the instant case is a bailable offence, however, the circumstances of the case warrants that the accused be remanded in custody while the trial lasts. The case is very sensitive in nature and many Muslim big wigs eg the Emir of Kano are indirectly involved. They may attempt to shield the accused from attending the court for his trial. The accused can even travel out of the country with a new passport and new identity. He can even choose to trek through the border

and Sahara Desert as most of them do.

The Nigeria military authorities have called for vigilance on the part citizens because “female bombers now disguise in men’s clothing” to carry out attacks on soft targets.
A statement issued by Rabe Abubakar, defense spokesman, on Friday, stated that Boko Haram insurgents were determined to keep on carrying out attacks, hence the resort to a new trick.

“In continuation with the sensitization of our citizens on the devilish strategy of the terrorists, the Nigerian Military authorities have discovered that Boko Haram terrorists are determined to continue letting off bombs and have resorted to hiding their true sex identity,” it read.

“Female bombers now dress in men attire to have access to mosque unhindered to detonate their bombs. The latest suicide attack in the mosque at Molai Umurari village in Borno State is instructive in this regard.

“Therefore, members of the public are hereby advised to be wary of suspicious persons, irrespective of sex at worship places, markets and public entertainment centers.
Having been effectively dislodged and decimated, the splinter cells of the remnant Boko Haram terror group still engage in some systematic isolated attacks, mainly on soft targets in their desperation to remain relevant.

“The defense headquarters hereby advises the general public to constantly be on alert to this latest terrorist tactics and to report promptly any suspicious persons or objects to the nearest security agency. Local vigilante and community should device more proactive measures to curtail such ugly happenings to complement security agencies, as security is everybody’s concern.”

An explosion - suspected to have been caused by a suicide bomber - has hit the popular Istiklal Street in central Istanbul's Taksim square area, local media report, with several deaths reported.

The district governor said at least four people were killed and 20 were injured in Saturday morning's explosion, apparently including the suspected suicide bomber.

Footage from the scene showed police and emergency services cordoning off the street, which has been completely cleared of people.

Witnesses told Al Jazeera that hundreds of people ran in panic away from the site of the explosion, moments after the incident.

Istiklal street is a long pedestrian thoroughfare that winds its way through the Beyoglu neighbourhood from Taksim Square.

It is rimmed by hundreds of shops and would have been filled with pedestrians at the time of the explosion.

Al Jazeera's Jamal Elshayyal said the location of the explosion was the equivalent of a bomb going off in Oxford St in London or Fifth Avenue in New York.

The explosion comes as Turkey is on edge following two recent suicide bomb attacks in the capital, Ankara, which were claimed by a Kurdish group, that is an off-shoot of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party, or PKK.

Turkey has been fighting on multiple fronts. As part of a US-led coalition, it is battling the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL, also known as ISIS), which has seized territory in neighbouring Syria and Iraq.

It is also battling the PKK in its southeast, where a two-and-a-half-year ceasefire collapsed last July, prompting the worst violence since the 1990s.

Turkey sees the unrest in its largely Kurdish southeast as deeply linked to events in northern Syria, where the Kurdish YPG militia has seized territory as it fights both ISIL and rebels battling President Bashar al-Assad.

ISIL has carried out at least four bomb attacks on Turkey since June 2015, including a suicide bombing which killed 10 German tourists in central Istanbul in January.

Okay guys ,we decided to go on a trip to Agenebode a few might not have heard about this town , it's a big town in edo state , where fishing is a commercial business as they have the river Niger waterfront close by, it was actually a sweet trip as we got to see villages and some mystic things in Edo state !
