Not for a study Permit . One way ticket is what you need. You will be fine Eilenora: My course is a 2yr course. I was scared cos a reputable immigration consultant told me that she personally knows 2 people who were turned back at POE for having a 1 way ticket. Her words: [20:02, 22/11/2020] .......: I usually don't advise this oo honestly [20:03, 22/11/2020] .......: I know 2 people who have been turned back at the point of entry for this reason |

Best to travel 3/4 weeks to school resumption That is the expectation. Students get away with months before but i will advise against it at this time, with the trend of turnback at POE due to Covid and purpose of travel. Lekiboboe: Hello house, I got a question
If an Applicant who got VISA & has deferred to Fall 2021, can the applicant be able to travel like 2-3 months before Resumption (Sept 2021)?
If yes, are there possible questions one can be asked at the Port of Entry (CBSA)
Thanks |

Any update yet on the one for the kids? Didnt get for my kids too? Adunola20: Please, I have a question.
My PPR was for my application alone. Should I still be expecting for my kids separately?

China is about 10 hours time difference ... Time Zone difference i guess rebecausoro: Why do people only get BVLs and PPRs at night in Nigeria? It also seems they get it almost at the same time too. It's kind of weird that they don't send these things during the day. |

Hello, try keep the email simple and in the body state the information clearly as well as attach the medical form, see below Application Number: UCI: UMI: Name: It will be updated, send web form in similar format to Kenya and also email to all 3 address.... SUbject of the email :UPFRONT MEDICAL.....APPLICANT NAME and APPLICATION NUMBER All the best! Eilenora: This is the email I have been sending all along:
Sent to all 3 addresses last night
Dear Sir/ Madam,
I am ........... with date of birth: ............., Unique Client Identifier (UCI): ,............. and Application number: ................. I trust my email finds you well?
On July 14, 2020, I submitted my application for a study permit. I did an upfront medical examination and attached an e-medical information sheet evidencing same to my application.
On July 24, 2020, I received an email requesting that I undergo a medical examination. In response, I raised a web-form attaching the evidence sent to me by my Panel Physician (Q-life Family Clinic) confirming that my medical report had been forwarded to IRCC since June 25, 2020. I sent a number of follow up correspondence regarding this issue (see table towards the end of this email). In 2 responses from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), I was informed that the document I forwarded to them in respect of my upfront medicals had been received and forwarded to the Nairobi Office where my application was being treated. These responses alongside evidence of upfront medicals have been merged together as a single pdf document and attached to this email for easy reference purposes.
In spite of all of these, the status on my CIC account reads: “We did not receive the results of your required medical exam. Check your medical exam request message below for details”.
I wish to confirm if your good office is indeed in receipt of these documents which were forwarded severally within the 30 days window provided. If so, I humbly request that same be considered as part of my application and for my cic portal to be updated accordingly.
Many thanks for your anticipated resolution to this problem. |

From my experience: Once your biometrics is done, check your online account your biometrics details would have been updated. The below tracking does not track anything as you did not submit your passport. Please check your account for your biometrics number which will show expiry date as well. Hope this helps Ckechi: Hello all,
After submitting my biometrics, I got a tracking number so I decided to track my application. And this is what I received. I haven't submitted my passport or anything. What does it mean? |

Thanks for this input.....you are right as per the red flag ....PHD holder..... Thanks for your contribution ,we are all learning, his plan to wait is the best...no free. money to take unnecessary risk..BY Mid September, we expect the new process will be clearer. Osemigho: I shook my head when some people on this thread advise you to register with AIP. Do these people even know how the system in Canada works? Your international student advisor, someone that will likely process your refund, advise you not to register without study permit and they are saying you should do otherwise. Maybe you don’t know, most international student advisor are also registered, trained, and certified immigration consultant. They know that visa officers have power to decide applicants fate, they can be very unpredictable, and there is little or nothing you can do about it.
If your school says they will not refund after registration of classes, you are own your own if you pay your tuition and register. They will gladly read out the rules to you if you later ask for it. You won’t be the first to loose your money to them.
Also, you should ask your advisor because study permit is usually required for disbursement of scholarship. Admission or AIP does not guarantee scholarship. If you don’t get your study permit, you loose your money, your scholarship, and your seat. I hope you have the emotional and financial strength for this risk if you decide to register with AIP.
Also, in exceptional circumstances when you cant perform your role, like in a RA/TA scholarship, you are likely to loose the scholarship. I don’t know your program and tuition cost, but the fact that you needed to make tuition deposit despite having scholarship and entrance award is also a yellow flag for me.
Perhaps the scholarship rules are changing because they can’t guarantee people’s performance with online classes and not in Canada. Oyinbo Dey serious that business na business. They will let you go, AKA fire you, if you can’t perform your duties to their satisfaction.
I also read some people are saying your profile is very strong. I would like to point out to you that you have a reg flag that VOs have used to reject people in the past. You have a PhD and going to Msc. This is big one for purpose of visit. The better alternative would be a postdoctoral fellowship.
It is not my money or my mental health. I am only a concerned fellow. Whatever decision you make, please let us know the outcome. It will help other applicants to make an informed decision.
I drop my pen on this registration matter and wish everyone the best. It is my joy that it works out for everyone. Personally, I am observing for my advisees coming winter and fall 2021. So I’m learning from you all. Have a blissful day. |

your Profile seems very strong.. I suggest you register once you receive AIP.Just keep POF intact with a good buffer to cover for your family. milkytins: This is my first application, so i haven't been denied b4. No health issues and proof of fund will still be intact. The only clause is that I added my family to my application (Wife and 5 yr old daughter). Leaving them behind is not an option.
My supervisor gave me a supporting and convincing letter for VO, stating reasons why I must come and importance of the project to their community. And sincerely, the letter was massive. I did zoom interview, showed him my work by sharing my screen.
Well, I have B.Sc. (FUNAAB), M.Sc. and Ph.D (OAU) in Computer Science. Currently going for Master program in Data Science. Can I still go ahead and gamble with $12,000 ? |

Spotlights: I think this is not really right and correct. In the AIP letter, it stated the procedures in which application is been treated and certainly decision is usually based on the first stage for eligibility, funds, purpose, family ties and intention. Once that is passed, the second is a general and regular routine to know about your records of health, act (criminally) and backgrounds of all checks. Getting AIP means a lot and close to getting Visa. Haven't heard of application been refused on the second stage. It's either straight refusal from stage 1 or to proceed to final stage. #MyOpinion I Good morning guys, the comments by Frank is valid and we should all prayerfully approach stage 2 AIP. See below extract from Cic site, read it deeply...... any changes is Deep! “Stage 2: We check your application for admissibility and any changes to your eligibility In this stage, an officer reviews your application for a medical exam, if needed police certificates, if needed your biometrics any information that changed after we reviewed your application for eligibility“ Please ensure you are still eligible after biometrics and medical....most especially POF wise, The VO will conduct a full review at stage 2 let us all be ready............may all AIP holders get final approval after review.Amen https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/coronavirus-covid19/students.html |

Truly inspiring! Go for it..Never give up! neverlosehope: Good day All,
I will like to encourage sometime with a little about my story. I graduated from a Nigerian university with a second-class lower division degree in STEM at 24 years and finished NYSC at 25 years. Unfortunately, as peculiar with Nigerian environmental, I got my first job at 28 years after 4 years in the wilderness. The delay in getting a job was my mediocre degree (i.e., finishing with 2.2) and lack of working experience at 25 years (how will I get the necessary work experience when I have never been employed).
Fast forward to a decade later, after working for over a decade, got frustrated with Nigeria society placing a limited to what you can achieve, I decide to make a change to my family situation by returning to school in US/Canada. Initially, there were few obstacles, I got admitted into a fully-funded master’s degree program in the US with an average stipend by God’s grace. I left the shore or Nigeria with my entire family and started the program at 40 years. I graduated with a master’s degree with a GPA of 3.56/4.0 at 42 years. Fortunately, I was admitted into a fully-funded Ph.D. program in Canada’s top university with a very generous stipend and started the program at 42 years. I have currently completed the program required coursework with a GPA of 4.0/4.0, passed candidacy exam, five publications, and 3 manuscripts under review in top peer-review journals.
What is my point? Despite where you might have started from, the environment you live might not be favorable to you, age or family commitments might be barriers. However, do not give up, please hold on to your dream. The grace of God will see you through. If you quit today, you have failed tomorrow.
Please note My story is not unique; I have seen many tremendous journeys of beautiful people who do not quit/give up and achieved great heights. I am sharing my story to encourage you that no barrier is big or strong enough to stop you from achieving your dream.
I hope to challenge someone !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
