The worst thing that will happen to Jonathan is a questionable electoral victory.

In fact it will be better for him if he does not run at all than to be heavily rigged to remain in power.
No, the worst and likely thing that will happen is that he will not win the election. He just got check mated by very smart people. The best thing he could have done was electoral reform, high performance and allowing a credible electoral process to vote him in. He would have won. But now, he will be a 1+ year president. For sure. Once Hausa's count their cow and other livestock, then its all over for Jonathan.

Let them keep returning them back and disgracing them all over.Very good, they should sit at home and confront these useless leaders.Rather than running around the world to enjoy comforts that should be accessible to them at home.Frustration may force them to finally demand that the government does something.
PoliticsRe: Nigerian Soldiers Fathered 250,000 Kids In Liberia by TewMuch: 1:43am On Jul 22, 2010
Not trying to be insensitive, but I don't see how Nigeria is responsible for these 250000.There is no proof that they were fathered by Nigerian soldiers and DNA test is impossible.Liberia should stop trying to push their destitute children on Nigerians to take care of them.We are already dealing with population explosion here, where are the resources to take care of 250000 people, when enough people are suffering.Abike Dabiri does not have enough work to do and needs to be reassigned. If these children were not born in Nigeria, or their birth certificates were not signed by the proposed father's? Too bad, they become the responsibility of Liberia, not Nigeria.
PoliticsRe: Electricity Workers Frustrate Jonathan's Plans For Power Sector by TewMuch: 2:30pm On Jul 21, 2010
PHCN should be dissolved and privatized. The employees are as corrupt as the politicians themselves. All they do is steal and embezzle. The heads of PHCN should be probed for theft, and the company dissolved. It is just a relic of a company that cannot perform, too much corruption. A country like Nigeria should not be in the dark if you have professionals in position and not thieves.

Jonathan is officially dumb now.He listened to the wrong advice. This system may be used to rig a Northerner in.Out of the N10bn for independence day, he could not sign a bill for voting reform that uses elctronic voting. He definitely does not have a mind of his own, a strategy or foresight. He has used his hands to lose the war.Not a politician at all.

Depends on who has what to offer Nigerians for the country to move forward.A track record of doing a good job is also very important. It should be country first before sentiments. If goodluck doesn't offer anything but talk, and God father's, then he may not be good enough.Presidency is not a birth right.

I don't see all these picket fight wars you were talking about anywhere in history.Even small tribe like Igala say Igbo means Slave.Damn those Igala people!Don't tell me Igala's were enslaving Igbo's before white people.Igbo's have suffered oh.And Fulani found their way into Yorubaland because Afonja brought them in.That is why his descendants have lost their birth rights till today.Get your facts right! It was an internal war gone wrong. And Yoruba means Thugs of the south.lol.

Learn what Yoruba means, and come back and tell us why we are called that. You will understand that they are brave fighters and serious warriors. The fulani could never penetrate Yoruba's by war, only by religion. While you guys were still hiding in d deep jungle we were building commercial centers and well fortified cities.Learn what Igbo man means, it means bush man.lol.

There was little to no 'mingling' and even if it happened, it was between the Europeans and the coastal peoples, e.g Kalabari, Opobo, Ibibio, Oron, Efik. The top hats were used by Europeans to trade for slaves, not because their father was English. If missionaries had children with the Igbo people, where are the Igbo people with European grandfathers, and even if you can find them, how does a handful of people affect over 20 million people? I know Igbo people who have light toned skin and "white features" whose ancestors have never met Europeans before, talk less of mixing with them. A significant amount of Europeans never even began to enter the interior of Igboland until around the mid 19th century, so where did all this mixing take place in places like Nsukka or Abakaleke?
Do you think back then Africans will really know the difference? I have seen mixed children that are so black, when mixed with a pure black African. You cannot tell they are mixed, their hair may just be a little softer than a pure African baby. A lot of children back then may have been mixed, and mothers passing them off as their husbands children. This is very possible. And which Nigerian will admit to having a white fore father, so that the person can lose relevance in society and be disinherited. This is if they will ever know. You talk as if those people off the coast never intermarried with Igbo's. You know as a whole how the African society can be intrigued by lighter skinned women. Recessive genes are something else, and you never know when they rear their heads. Just as in this case. That baby is definitely a product of recessive genes. Either both parents had it, or one parent has really, really strong recessive genes. This just proves what i have always thought about very light skinned Igbo's. Its odd. Even the san men of south africa, who are lighter skinned than other African's are not as light as some Igbo's in Nigeria. A research should be done on how the strain of Igbo gene interacts with the white gene, cause i dont think it suppresses it too well. undecided

O.k i support you now oh. IBB all the way. This is going to be the biggest campaign that helped in improving the social welfare of Nigerians, through repatriation of stolen wealth/ redistribution of stolen wealth through decisions by IBB to contest, hahahahaha. A beg do you want to teach me something new about Yoruba folks?

I wonder why they rejected Awo and travelled all the way to Sokoto to give the crown to Shagari.
Brother, don't teach me nonsense; first get familiar to your people and their characteristics.

Just supply constant Amala powder and these folks are ready to dance behind you till the moon shines.
Abi o, i dey behind you 100%. And Hausa should make sure they count their cows and supply all the almajiri's donkwa too. Gave the crown to shagari? hahahahhaha. You are in for a big surprise. I hope your username will still be valid after the election. I will like to see if you are still alive and IBB has not killed you for deceiving him and making him spend all his money on Amala. Kai, some people have been taking advantage of IBB and making big money. Please release the names of the Yoruba's that did this poll for you people? Big B1:
First, wake up quickly, IBB is not spending kobo from his pocket for his 2011 presidential campaign.
Second, it is obvious that you have never experienced the presence of IBB, FYI: IBB rolls in style. You don't want to know how many real northern godogodo men that roll with IBB. You will have to first kidnap Obama before you will be able to kidnap IBB, trust me.
Finally, where exactly do you expect IBB to flag off his campaign? Shaki or Ile Ife?

The man is not a fool, Ibadan/ Adedibu's boys are known to favor northerners for the past 30 years. In fact, OBJ during his campaign was able to capture Ibadan only because of the heavy support he got from the North (Thanks to IBB).
Therefore, if there is any spot to hit, Ibadan remains the best spot to target the support from the Yoruba folks.
Sorry but your employer can go to Ibadan, even abeokuta ( where he knows he may be assasinated) and campaign. That does not mean Yoruba's will ever support him. They are just allowing him to make a fool of himself. Of course he will have to spend a lot of money to be able to speak in Ibadan. Do you know how many people he would have bribed to avert a riot and keep him safe? i wish him luck. psst, how do i make some money from this campaign by the way?
PoliticsRe: 2011: Ibb To Flag Off Campaign In Ibadan July 29 by TewMuch: 4:35pm On Jul 20, 2010
This is irritating. Just to rub it in, he chose Oyo state. Very strategic of him, but still it will be a failure. I wouldnt mind jumping on the band wagon to make him spend all that stolen Nigerian money. I hope he gets kidnapped when he goes to the east. These kidnappers should please do a big meeting and steal IBB. This would be the story for generations to come. And just think of the billions of dollars that could be made!!!

Most Igbo villages keep an oral record of their ancestors, people on the Bight of Biafra didn't even mix with Europeans like other places, and the monarchs of the slave ports were well in control, unlike Elmina castle and the rest. Slave weren't despoiled and then released in what became Southern Nigeria, and then, what, did they randomly stumble into someone village, have the baby and then marry a freeborn? Please show me one Igbo man who's ancestry goes back to a European.
Do you think its every woman that would have been taken as a slave? huh What are concubines for? You think the white people hanging on the coast for months didnt have some means of entertainment? Especially in Igbo land with close proximity to port harcourt and all those coastal areas that had interaction with white people. You can even see the huge influence in Ijaw and Rivers peoples traditional hats.So it is very very likely that some people may have been mixed somewhere. Lets not even go into the time of missionaries. You think missionaries that spent sooo long teaching and introducing religion were celebate all through? haha

Where did these white ancestors come from? There is no point in recent history where white people mixed with the Igbo population, and even genetics backs this up. Do the Yoruba people with "white features" have white ancestors?
During the time of slaveryhuh You think white slavers did not rape and have concubines in Africa? The Yoruba people with white features definitely had a white ancestor somewhere. If they had blonde hair (instead of African hair) and fairer skin they would be white.

Alarmist theory.Paranoia is not good.

Actually yorubas can outrightly asphiyxiate igbos in the east when it comes to taxi business since igbos are just not good at it.
Oh it is very very true. Tell me why they hold the nightly meetings? I know of a federal government owned establishment where they have infiltrated. Many Yoruba's that hold positions of power suddenly die. And Igbo's have created positions in which they hold the highest power with Yoruba's in Yoruba land. I mean, one position that is supposed to have a Yoruba in charge has been split into two. One Igbo and one Yoruba must now hold this position. I will not mention the establishment, but this is very true. One day, Yoruba's will wake up. And they must, because this can never be the case in Igbo land. Or are you scared that i am exposing your fellow brother's activities? Even other tribes in the establishment are getting frustrated by their ambitions.

I had that debate with a few of the NL Igbo sons who were arguing that Zik had every right to be the premier of the West. An Igbo man leading the Yoruba, like the Yoruba's were some backward set of people. Even in the North, citizens were voting for candidates who had no education, yet Zik wanted to be premier of the West. No Easterners won seats in the North, No Northerners won seats in the North or West, and no Westerners won seats in the North or East. Several Easterners won seats in the West, yet Ndigbo keep accusing the Yoruba of introducing tribalism into politics when it was a simple case of the Yoruba being very liberal and progressive.
The ability of Igbo's to mock their hosts and people that open doors for them has put them in trouble with the North, and i forsee trouble with the West in future. People can only take so much crap. Yoruba's open their doors for so many opportunities for them, and even a safe place to live but this is what they get over and over. Go to establishments in Yoruba land, Igbo's hold their nightly meetings scheeming on how to takeover these things from youruba's. Which they sucessfully do, by infiltrating and putting all their people in strategic positions. These cannot be possible in the east. But still they open their mouths. Yoruba's need to wake up and NOW! Igbo's need to know their place. It is becoming too much now.

Trust me, some Igbo's do. Its obvious. A small minority of them are really light skinned. Sometimes even more lightskinned than the half casts i see in Nigeria that tan because of the sun. Actually you Yorubas betrayed Azikiwe who was a firm believer in one Nigeria. I am not a supporter of Azikiwe, but Awolowo getting other Yorubas not support this man and forcing Azikiwe to flee to the East is nonsense.

As everyone knows, Azikiwe was not a tribal chieftain. He was Pan-African. Why do you think we Igbos do not support the man?
You know what, i support you in this motion. I blame Yoruba's for always being open and giving Igbo's especially opportunity in their land. They are never appreciated, always insulted by these same people. If you believe in one Nigeria so much, how many Yoruba's at that time were  given the same opportunity as Zik in the Eastern region? When you can show proof of this please come back. Igbo's are too greedy. Not satisfied with seats, they always want to take over the whole thing. KAI!!! see you fighting for Azikiwe to be given the highest seat in the western region. We aint even talking about an Edo person, all the way from the east. na wa oo. Yoruba's are in trouble and are really very foolish.

For not protecting Eastern civilians in the north. You people need to understand that innocent Igbo civilians had nothing to do with this coup so why should they suffer? I don't understand that. Just, because a few Igbo officers decided to commit a coup, does not mean that the populace had anything to do with it. We Igbos believe in individuality.

And you cannot compare the American civil war with the Nigerian civil war. This was Americans v. Americans who were fighting due to states rights/slavery. They were basically the same people, settlers from the UK. In Nigeria, it was a tribe against other tribes. Igbos do not owe Nigeria anything. Maybe the individual officers, but not the Igbo populace.

NIGERIA owes the Igbo big time. No wonder Nigeria is hell. You ostracize your most progressive group and the country goes no where.
Lol, Please do a little reading of the article below. So that you can understand why your people were killed by the Northerners. Make sure you read it well.

After the January 15 Coup there was widespread PROVOCATION by Igbo-speaking southerners in the North:

While all of this was going on, complaints about "Igbo provocations", were increasing. Northerners filed reports about parties being called by their Igbo colleagues to celebrate what they called the "January Victory". Offensive photographs showing Major Nzeogwu standing on the late Sardauna of Sokoto were said to be distributed in the open including market places. Some Igbos were even alleged to have worn stickers to that effect and were eager, in conversations with northerners, to point to Nzeogwu saying 'Shi ne maganin ku", meaning "he is the one who can knock sense into you". Grammophone records with machine gun sounds were released, to remind Northerners, it is said, of the bullets that felled their leaders in January. Celestine Ukwu, a popular Igbo musician allegedly released a piece titled "Ewu Ne Ba Akwa" meaning "Goats are crying" in Igbo (although there is an account that claims that this song originated from a non-Igbo artiste from Rivers). Derogatory remarks about Northerners were reportedly commonplace, even in Army Barracks. To compound matters, resentment began building against Igbo traders who had allegedly raised the prices of their foodstuffs to match the increases in the West. All of these factors were shrewdly exploited by an unlikely coalition of disenfranchised politicians, petty contractors, marketing board and northern development corp debtors, civil servants and university students of northern origin fearful of future career prospects in the public service. As former President Shehu Shagari put it in his biography "Beckoned to Serve", …'From the northern viewpoint, the implications of all this in terms of distribution of power, the allocation of public resources and amenities, the prospect of Igbo and southern domination, and the threat to mainstream northern ways of life were unmistakable.' Opposition to unification in particular was spearheaded by northern students and civil servants.

Igbo's caused their own doom. Planning a stupid coup and war, and rubbing it in Hausa's face. You know damn well that was a huge mistake. Now Yoruba's will never do that, everyone will keep quiet until the goal is achieved. We are not loud mouthed.

Last time I checked, Yorubas are Nigerians. I am directing this to all non-Easterners. It does, matter if you are Yoruba, Hausa, Kanuri etc. However, many people in the East, not only Igbos are still bitter at Yorubas for what they see as cowardice from the Yoruba elite who did not keep their end of the bargain.

Plus, it is common knowledge how Yoruba obas went up to the North to thank the Emirs for not targetting their people in the pogroms.
We have beaten this topic like a dead horse on Nairaland. Especially the bolded. Igbo's first betrayed Yoruba's and Nigerians through an act of COWARDICE perpetrated by Azikiwe. Then they organised a coup in which Yoruba's were killed as well. Because we are a quiet ethnic group does not mean we are stupid. Igbo's always expect to have their way with Yoruba's and expect Yoruba's to give them everything on a silver platter. We also have our interests to protect, and killing our officers will never ever gain our support. Until we cut our necks and give you, una no go dey satisfied. TOUGH! Like small Nigerian children will sing, " First to do, e no dey pain, Second to do, "-

Its obvious that some Igbo's have had white blood pass through them. The color of some of the chicks skin, aided by toneing of course. Its either both have a white ancestor and the recessive gene has shown up in their child. This is if the man is the baby daddy.Or their child was swapped at birth.

@ Ezeuche, apologise for what.Did the Jews go and start a civil war? Has America ever apologised to the South for its number of casualties? All is fair in love and war. If Igbo's entered into a war they could not win, then its their own fault.Nothing is ever resolved through bloody coups and staging wars.In my opinion Igbo's owe Nigeria an apology for a senseless war that cost so many lives.
