asha 80:Well i am following the arguments in this thread. I think i have answered your questions anyways. And please, Lagos Yoruba is different from other Yoruba dialects. Even if he wanted to rule over Yoruba's will he understand our very respectful nature? Will he recognize the powers of the Aalafin? Will he understand our festivals and rites? i dont think so. Its not possiple abeg, we cannot let someone come and throw our centuries old traditions into the air. All in the name of civilization and ziks made up words.lol. He simply was not fit to rule the whole western region, sorry. |
asha 80:I am addressing the Zik issue here that makes Igbo's misyarn about Yoruba's being tribalist. Zik was born in the North, probably raised in the North/ East and spent a good part of his life in the US. What tha hell does he have in common with Yoruba's . That is what amazes me, he knows next to nothing about Yoruba's. So why would they elect him. The fact that he was a part of the party and held significant position shows the open nature of Yoruba's. Its not a big deal, but to rule them? I dont think so.Representative level is not the same as Governor or senator. I dont think we will ever advance to that level. And besides the representative positions may not be significantly influential positions. Just to indicate diversity. I dont think an Igbo man will ever be governor or senator in Yorubaland and vice versa. If that happens then they have the right to contest for Yoruba Oba post now abi? Please people should get real and face reality. No one is being tribalistic, only looking out for their people's best interest. Same way Pete Edochie was accussing Olu Jacobs for playing Igbo king roles, because he doesnt understand the Igbo tradition or way of acting. Even though the movies are supposed to be english, and Olu Jacob's was acting a script. So this transcends politics. Everyone is looking for their own interest. |
asha 80:Well that was 1960, and we still have the same mentality. No matter what we are a very ethnic country with limited resources. Do you think a whole ethnic group will let a stranger come in and tell them how to share their resource and live their lives? Being Yoruba is a way of life as well as being Igbo. It doesnt even matter if you were born outside of your village. I cannot go and fight for the right to contest in Igbo land. For what? What tha hell do i know that i am doing there? I cannot learn their norms, traditions, language and other things even if i lived there for a lifetime. There is nothing like being directly from the heritage. Everyone needs someone they can relate to and trust. Also someone that is bound by the belief systems of a certain group. This is not America, a land of immigrants. This is an ethnic country. The more you get comfortable with it the better for you. Focus on how your area ca be best developed with its limited resources. I dont think it can ever change, despite migrations and all sorts. |
Katsumoto:Gbam! I dont know why this is so hard to believe. What is it about the South West that they so want to rule. I have never heard about this much ambition from Igbo's to rule in the North. SO what are we missing. Yoruba talk sey dem no do, wetin. Make una leave the Yoruba's alone now. i cannot walk into stranger's house and tell everyone how to live their lives, Se bi Zik was born in the north? That is where he should contest if things were what the Igbo's wanted it to be. So what is the obsession with the Yoruba's? I dont understand at all, abi una dey fear wetin Northerner's go say? We are proud of Awo, leave us to be grateful for his legacy and praise our hero's without casting aspersions on their characters. Igbo's can open their own thread and kiss their hero's as well. |
T9ksy:EXCELLENT POST! . |
^ You are very correct.Others may have these videos and may use it to blackmail the couple in future. She is really setting this guy up for gross unhappiness and a feeling of failure in his marriage when the truth comes out.He may even kill her, some people can only take so much.I don't desire a perfect person for a spouse but I resent shame, ridicule and public disgrace. |
Tell your friend, he will never forgive you. This girl has seen a young man that can take care of her and her whole family the way the expatriates used to and will go to any length to get her hands on his money.Forget that she has changed bullshit, he is obviously the kind of guy that may not be able to live with that kind of person that is why she lied so much.Ladies you cannot eat your cake and have it.make a mess out of your life and off load your dirty baggage on an unsuspecting victim. You either tell him or someone else does.Let him make that decision to be with you. When una dey chop money you no think of the future abi? Una no know sey sweet thing dey run bele? Where are the expatriates? Dem nor marry una, so na 2 come off load dirty, probably infected pussy on the bobo. When una go behave like dog because of money dey catch disease wey fit disturb your abulity to give birth in future.Later dem go dey cry fake tears sey dem be virgin.Abeg poster say something. No man should be sentenced to a woman like this.Very terrible person. She made her bed let her lie in it.This guy does not deserve the laughter and insults he will get when he presents his "prize" to people.Ashawo 10kobo babes deserve to reap what they sow. |
;d Refer to you bible 1 corinthians 13:4-8 |
@ OP Ur a small boy, are u her father? One day you will turn around and you love would have runaway with a sensible person.I won't want a heartless dictator to have a hold on my life, so I won't do that to someone I love.Everything has limits so watch your excesses.Someone may get fed up and move on with you still thinking you have a GF |
You see why the people telling you in the begining to move on were right?A mature person would have called you and discussed with you.He also would have told you firmly what you did, how it hurt him and why you should not attempt it again. Now I don't know what agreement you guys had before you came to Europe.e.g. Marriage and kids.Did you go back on such an agreement. This is because u mentioned marriage and kids and so did his mother, although not in a direct way or as politely as she should have.He is in a different phase of his life, and you may just not be ready for that. How are you coping in UK just like that? Do you have your papers? I hope he didn't just leave you high and dry and I hope you can move on.It is well, you have just experienced how selfish humans can be.Make sure as from now on you look out for yourself and concentrate on developing yourself first (if this is important to you), before giving all of your life to a man.And never make drastic moves across continents without a marriage committment.Move on with your life, I am sure he has someone already.Make the best out of your opportunity in UK, and open your eyes when looking for a new relationship. Avoid liars, fraudsters(bigger liars),and people in committed relationships or marriages.Focus on loving yourself again before going into any relationship with anyone. Also remember to keep your promises and watch your tongue. When words are released they can never be taken back. Finally in your next relationship when you forgive your partner never bring old issues up as a way of fighting back, hurting them, or making them think they owe you.Kepp your relationship between the both of you, and so should he. Don't even run to his mum with any difficulty because she most likely will take his side.Remember to love yourself first, there is nothing wrong with you.We all make mistakes and he has done his part in your life story. It is time for you to continue, he doesn't owe you anything and neither do you owe him your life. |
Home of Hausa present day Nigeria? Funniest shit ever.Hausa's like Fulani are all over West Africa. That is why they like to follow each other so much. The Fula's are the normads of the 2 groups. While Hausa's are the settlers.Where Hausa's currently hold majority in the North, there are indigenous tribes that own the land.Hausa's are not native to Nigeria. There are Hausa's all over West Africa. There are Ghanian Hausa's.They don't have influence in Ghana because their population is small. |
If Jesus could have his hands on that kind of money, he would make sure all of it go to the poor.So they have food and shelter.A man of God's life is sacrifice and poverty in anticipation of kingly rewards in heaven.Jesus will never be caught in a jet when his followers are suffering and dying of hunger.Especially the children, the sick and the elderly. |
^^^ Probably the travelling islamic salesman was lamurudu, not the whole Yoruba group. Our tradition, language and culture is very unique and different. It cannot be traced or associated with any other. The over 100 different gods and all sorts show you that its a well established culture and a strong one.Forget the religious interpretation and focus on the traditional. When people want you to accept something foreign they try to find something you can relate with. |
^^^ Bullshit.Cuthan ko, arabia ni.I laugh in 'Euroba'.Ghaddafi is really trying to agitate for this united Arab and African state. He is the one with a grand plan to be the overall African King.Arabs and African's are not the same. When did Ghana become Jana? I agree with Tuareg and Hausa. But Yoruba is impossible. We are the natives of Nigeria. The traditional culture is unique. We had our own traditional religion before Islam or Christianity. We know our tradition, so ghadaffi cannot come and hoodwink us into joining his madness. The day an Arab becomes king of Africa, then we have become bastards.Who is causing genocide in sudan, somalia and all those African countries? Arabs. So to Mr. Ghaddafi. We sa thanks but no thanks.Tell that to the hausa's and fulani's that have lost their culture because of religion. |
^^^ Hausa and Kanuri are not originally from Nigeria. You can find these groups all over West Africa.Their origin is either Mali or Senegal. There are Hausa's in Niger,Ghana, e.t.c |
Rotflmao. This thread is ridiculous.Especially the river nile and the king tut bit.hahahahahahahahahahahaha.Do you know how far Egypt is from Nigeria And the Egyptians documented their history very well.King tut is just not an oral history. As much as this historian will like to bring glory to Igbo's, this whole thing is bullshit. And should be thrashed.Sun news has further discredited itself by publishing such garbage.Even the oral historians from Yoruba land dare not claim that much. This historian is demented and this is garbage. |
His citizenship should be revoked because he must have lied on the Nigerian citizenship application about being wanted for criminal activities. The Nigerian citizenship should be revoked and he should be extradited back.Nigeria should not be a hiding place for criminals.Including the people that do 419 in America and run back to Naija. They should be sent back to face the music. If you can do the crime, you better be ready to do the time. |
Have you ever wondered that she may have issues beyong the physical? That load can mean so many things. She don warn you, if you over do your eye go see wahala ooh.It may be more than financial.Maybe a medical problem |
Na so God dey catch them one by one.One sin will lead to another.I hope he gets charged with something and imprisoned. His stolen assets sold and the money sent back to his state. They should not let him run to his safety net,Nigeria.Babalawo should be even called to investigate this matter.Bloody ritualist,2011 is coming he needs bulletproof power. |
Good.Let's see what the millitary engineers can do.It will also give the country a clear account of what is going on and an opportunity for a good audit. If they can sustain the electricity they should be given the contract pending PHCN's privatization. While all the useless PHCN officials should be sacked. On the other hand,I wonder if this news is still valid though.I read on punch that the strike has been called off.Maybe their terms were met, or people called their bluff. One day strike.Buncha chickens.lol |
Seems like IBB is gonna be president of the South East.:x.Because if he becomes president, all the Igbo's will be chased back into their little states.Cause blood will flow for their support. That is guaranteed. Its going to be messy. Also, if Yoruba's could strictly vote for abiola and he won, that will mean that Yoruba population is underestimated since Igbo's claim only Yoruba's voted for him.Wonder how in a free election IBB could win with only his vote nd Igbo votes. ![]() |
You said you wanted to run abi? Are you campaigning for yourself on this thread? :x |
Abiola was the people's mandate. He contested and won in the best elections ever conducted in Nigeria.Every candidate vying for presidency should take note. People never forget, and that is how it should be.Presidency is not for just anybody, you have to be damn near perfect for that position and be chosen by the people.See how the mighty have fallen.Even his fellow northerners are running.Yoruba too much. They are only holding him accountable. We all should be looking for the best person for us.MKO was the best in 1993. I hope Igbo's are seeing all this.rotflmao. They are the only ones that will vote for IBB.Its a losing battle. |
@ all ya'll telling her to lose the weight for him, na wa ooh. What if he says he doesn't like her face tomorrow? Wetin she go do? Omo no dull urself OP.The dude is an abuser. He will never be satisfied. When you guys saw for the first time if he didn't like what he saw then he should have let you go. This guy is a whiner nd lacks maturity.he also doesn't know how to talk.Poster must have been humiliated. |
^ No way jose, drama free zone. |
^ Hmm! Becomerich knows everyone.I rotfnd lmao when I saw his comment. But out of respect RIP |
And trust me! We definitely didn't want OBJ! He was not our choice, very rigged in fellow that did nothing for Yoruba's. As you tolerated him so did we. But he did some good things even more for Igbo's than his own people. You guys should actually appreciate OBJ more. He's a Nigerian. |
Am confused as to when we all voted Awo. Wasn't he supposed to win his region or a Yoruba candidate? You can't compare that.Almost everyone voted abiola.Yoruba,Ibo and Hausa. Not all Yoruba's voted for Olu Falae or he would have won. The election was very rigged by the way so we will never know.Yoruba's don't follow the herd mentality, if we did, I will say so.We are actually more democratic than most. |
I ignored you ofenmanu, omo ibo aje okuta ma momi for a reason.Your statement was dumb. Ur screen name should be palm oil rock hard eba. |
^Chyz respect yourself.Only one Tew on nairaland.Am not into all the multiple personality shit.only me one (8 |
