Your responses when I said I had heard God's voice...

macof: Lol grin u heard Yahweh?
How was his voice? Soft or bold? Does he talk in rhymes or acappella mode
macof: I think he sounded like ur brain playing tricks on u
macof: Lol I too have heard voices in a room with me alone. The voice was like "macof, macof, dump christianity and revert to the ways of your ancestors, you have been chosen to led people back to the God of their fathers"And I was like "yes Lord, use me to bring light to these people"
macof: The God of ur fathers house
And there no real difference between "almighty God" and "pagan god"
I.e Olorun is almighty God and also a pagan god
macof: Religion grin
If only anyone has truly seen God
Then I find this on another thread...

1. To see members avatar alongside posts. The tech guys can simply implement gravatar to avoid too much hits on the forum server.
2. To have a kind of voting system in place that allows members to vote topics to front page instead of relying on the judgements of mods like...(if you call names, na you sabi)

My take shaa!
interesting idea

Christianity EtcRe: 15 Things You Shouldn't Say To An Atheist by texanomaly(f): 7:16pm On Dec 12, 2013
aManFromMars: Agreed. Though you'd be making a mistake if you'd identify loving your neighbor, caring for the sick and lowly as 'Christian' morals. Truth is they aren't. Atheists, despite their lack of belief, understand the value of these roles in creating a peaceful society.

On the other hand, what would you say about Christians who have no respect for these values? Nigerian Pentecostalism has created a new brand of Christians that are easily provoked by opposing voices, and care little for that which concerns society. It greatly undermines the role a Christian should play in building a society rather it perpetuates a 'if God be for me, who can be against me' mentality that only breeds selfishness and contempt for those who do not see things their way. It also substitutes hard work for prayer and basically renders most incapable of sound reasoning. When you live in a society such as this as an atheist, it's hard to be apathetic and ignore the bs that occurs daily in the name of religion.
Once again...pic and chose the parts that give you a supposed advantage. You conveniently left this part out when you quoted me...
texanomaly: Some may choose to disregard what they have been taught, but it is there none the less.
People who act and believe the way you described are not true Christians.

aManFromMars: Not sure I quite get you here.

There has got to be a better way.
Christianity EtcRe: 15 Things You Shouldn't Say To An Atheist by texanomaly(f): 6:31pm On Dec 12, 2013
onetrack: Christian values and, to a lesser extent, Jewish values are themselves largely based on pagan Hellenistic philosophies such as the Stoics, as well as the thinking of Plato. Judaism and Christianity are not exclusively the beginning of 'modern' moral values.
If you will read my statement and the post I was referring to, you will realize I was talking strictly about the atheists raised in a Christian home. I was referring to the fact that their value systems were created as children, and can not be uninstalled. So to speak. Some may choose to disregard what they have been taught, but it is there none the less. You can't claim that you would have had good moral character despite your upbringing, if it is all you know. No amount of study and history can negate those core values. They will always be there. All I am saying is that a child's upbringing is undoubtedly the foundation for the building of his character. In the case of the atheist raised as a Christian, he has a moral center established by those parameters. I am not here to debate where or when Christianity came about.

Something else I find interesting is the fact that atheist condemn superstition, witchcraft and the existence of any God(s), Yet they are not opposed to using them, when they feel it gives them an advantage.

Oluwaseytiano: you are still living with ur head in the sand
I find Mr Troll's statement interesting. Many, not all, of the atheist here on NL were raised as Christians, by their own admission. They have no personal evidence that this particular hypothesis has any scientific credence. How would they know? The fact that they are atheist now, does not negate the fact they spent their formative years as Christians. Mr Troll, weather you like, it or not, your current value system and morality are based on a Christian upbringing. There is no escaping it. Somewhere in your subconscious, are those values you learned as a child. How can you differentiate from whence your value system is derived.

Like I said sometimes ago that "Atheist have been helping Jesus to seperate shaft from wheat" because many christians really don't know the God their serving i.e Logicboy & co. Some are still christians because they were born into it.

In Sport section I saw a brother who was trying to advise a new NLer he said "don't spend much time on religion section because you might turn to an Atheist" I was like hmmmm.

I remember this verse "the hour will not come withiout fallen away first" and Jesus says "whosoever will endure in faith till He comes will He give the crown of life"
