Bonapart: With tears in my eyes i say "it shall never be well with boko haram sponsirs" That's the problem with people like you. Keep babbling about 'sponsors'. What about the people who have woefully FAILED to protect people like little Lami and the kidnapped Chibok girls? Or the 200+ school children that have been slaughtered in the past 2 years? Those people have the same blood on their hands like the Boko Haram sponsors have. See how the army is rolling back Boko Haram right now...what exactly has changed that they couldn't do this offensive a year ago or earlier? |
Politics › Re: NNPC Audit Report: Apologise To Jonathan, Group Urges Sanusi, Others by texazzpete(m): 7:04am On Feb 17, 2015 |
Jonathan should apologize to sanusi and Nigerians aSAP.
Not only was money missing, there were clear lapses in the reconciliation of accrued revenue between the NNPC and the finance ministry/CBN.
When Sanusi sent the memo to GEJ, Jonathan could not even be arsed to investigate. He would have cost us $1.48bn which would have been stolen.
Nigerians need an unreserved apology from Jonathan for failing to investigate. We also need an apology for the clumsy attempts to use divisive religious lines to divide the nation.
Sanusi needs an unreserved apology from Jonathan for trying to use the DSS and Jonathan cronies to tie Boko haram to Sanusi. |

kay1one2: Gej should still remain in power. Didn't see any activity from him here. With your jaundiced eye, how would you have seen this: In April 2011 Mike Adenuga attempted to buy Shell’s OML 30 for $1.2 billion dollars. The Minister for Petroleum and Nigeria’s most powerful woman refused the sale of the OML30 to Adenuga citing national interest. This block was later sold to Heritage Oil for $800 million dollars eleven months later. Nigeria cheated of $400mln during GEJ's time from just one OML alone! It's there in black and white in the article yet you claim you didn't 'see anything'. Do you need eye drops? Besides, who needs oil blocs when one can simply steal more than $8bn and claim it went to Kerosene Subsidy that nobody ever saw until the House of Reps began investigating? kay1one2: Corruption, nepotism has ruined this country! I'd rather have a man that makes a mistake about the name of his party than a President that told Christiane Amanpour that his strategy to stop oil bunkering is to appeal to the buying nations and refineries instead of routing the crooks in the creek.
Better a wise leader that makes some gaffes than a President that loudly talks about a strategy that makes absolutely no sense and paints him and his country as weak. |

the leaked audio exposed one party attempting to rig. Using the 'they are both the same' argument to insist that the audio implicates APC is just childish reasoning.

Matthewbriggs: Jaybee my stance on Nigerian politics is very simple. PDP and APC are the same. They filled with the same touts and criminals. Elections in Nigeria are not yet completely free and fair but they are better than before. Both parties rig elections. We are just lucky to stumble on this piece of propaganda. Their are so many dirty things going under the hood in APC and PDP we will never know.
One looks like a demon, The other disguises as an angel but they far much worse. It is one thing to parrot the usual lazy 'APC and PDP are the same' mantra. It's another whole new kettle of fish for someone to attempt use the army and police and dss to influence the result of an election. |

The issue o power failure didn't start with GEJ Administration. it has been there for long. Our Past Presidents (Both literates and Illiterates) Were not able to solve this problem.
Next time , Think Before you vomit rubbish all in the name of seeking attention. Who cares if it started with GEJ? It is a PDP scourge that tens of billions of dollars have been invested in that sector yet we are still battling to generate 4500 MW at a peak, for a nation of 180 million people. next you will say it is not a PDP thing because it did not start in 1999. If all other leaders reject that it 'started' in their tenure, who will we now hold responsible? tafawa balewa? GEJ is the Nigerian President. he has told us he has invested billions of dollars in that sector, and promised a massive improvement in power supply. That promise ended in abject failure. Let your paymaster take responsibility for this. |

Politics › Is The FG Actually Boasting Of Allowing Thieves To Go Scot-free?! by texazzpete(op): 3:51pm On Jan 29, 2015 |
From Reno Omokri's 'The broom or the vacuum cleaner' https://www.nairaland.com/2119726/broom-vacuum-cleanerPrior to the Goodluck Jonathan administration, there were fifty thousand ghost workers in the Federal Civil Service. They drained the treasure of about 2 billion US dollars annually. President Jonathan could have used the broom on them by unleashing the police and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, to investigate who and who were collecting these fifty thousand unearned salaries. It would have taken many hours of investigation, evidence gathering, judicial process and lawyers to achieve that.
Being the philosopher king that he is, President Jonathan chose instead to employ technology to tackle the problem and using the software of the Integrated Personnel and Payroll Information System, IPPIS, this administration made it impossible for anybody who has not been physically captured in the IPPIS system, by way of entering his/her finger prints and biometrics, to receive a salary. And voila! in one fell swoop, all the fifty thousand ghost workers were excluded and the Federal Government was able to save billions every year that would have gone on salaries. I don't understand, is the FG actually BOASTING of letting crooks who have been stealing $2bn ANNUALLY to go free? Is this what Reno Omokri is saying, that criminal prosecution of the corrupt is actually a bad thing? Is the Government not able to multi-task...close loopholes while bringing those crooks to justice? |

So osibanjo may or can boldly tell us if God has dismissed him from pastoral work because he can't work effectively in pastoral work and as a vice president. I see this a conflicting issue. tenry: Don't mind them. I have read so many comments posted out of ignorance. Multi national companies, government agencies, reputable organisations/bodies such as AU, unesco, world bank etc commission these lecturers for proprietary research and they pay them very well. Just show you know your onions and grants will be coming for you. Most of these people don't even touch thjeir salary, cos money they realise conducting research for others is sufficient. As a graduate student at UI, my Msc thesis fetched me 250 dollars frm unesco after defending it. I have sent the final work to them for consideration and I'm waiting to hear frm them and then smile to the bank. I am not a lecturer, imagine if I am one and I am able to produce something good, the salary ll just become my monthly saving. I have a BIG problem with ignorant folks like you taking anecdotal evidence and the odd success story and spinning it to say 'most' lecturers don't touch their salary. I'm willing to bet not up to 10% of lecturers get commissioned for private projects at the sub-professor level. |
