Family › Re: I Confronted My Dad For Slapping My Mum, And Got Slapped In Return by texazzpete(m): 9:59am On Mar 20, 2015
Freest:
It happened this morning oh, was bathing and prepping for work when i heard my dad at the top of his voice, before i knew it i heard mumsy crying, he had slapped her. Am in the same house( Haven't been able to move out yet) and i couldn't just bear my mum crying so i went to my dad to tell him what he did was not right. He is almost 60 and so is his wife, at that age you slap your wifehuh i was trying to use the voice of reason as i was angry but kept my calm (Who wouldn't be angry seeing his/her mum cry?) before i could finish explaining and appealing to him i received from his left hand of righteousness a resounding slap... it got me confused as i didn't know what i did to deserve such. I didn't say anything harsh nor abusive. Am angry but didn't wanna return that slap nor say words I'll regret. I told him I'm moving out and he just lost a son, he replied that i wont be missed. I wanna do something he'll never forget, before i leave, please i need advice as it dented my personality even amongst my younger siblings and neighbors. I really am confused on what to do before moving out. Am so pissed now
pls sincere advice. thanks
Moral of the story?

Go make some money for yourself. How can you be in your late 20's, still be living with your parents and be whining about 'losing a son'? As far as your dad is concerned, you've moved to the 'Parasite' stage. He's probably in church now, doing dry fast to pray to God that you don't change your mind about moving out.

Freest:
please i need advice as it dented my personality even amongst my younger siblings and neighbors.
BWAHAHAHAHAHA!! 'Personality'? You're a freaking grown man in his late 20s that's still living with his daddy and mummy and you think anyone respects you in your area? you're probably the community laughing stock behind your back.

Can it do basic word processing?

Can it connect to the Internet?

Can it play multimedia files?

If it can, then that's absolutely good enough for a free, Mass distributed computing hardware.

Greedy oafs expected the governor to hand them one Macbook Pro each?

And I thought Zinox Computers is from Imo state. The IMSG could have partnered with him for cheap and affordable laptops with a flexible payment plan. Well, common sense is not common in Government houses excluding Anambra state.
Nothing 'affordable' about Zinox laptops.

Smh at the people saying this is 'creepy'

It's even more creepy for someone to take a picture of his friend when they are sleeping and vulnerable, and upload it online to the most popular discussion forum in Africa without their consent.

It seems the APC in their bid to implement their parallel government have started laying foundations for trouble. Nigerians and the army are watchin as things unfolds. We shall resist every attempt by the APC to forment trouble in this country. We shall vote Jonathan and deal decisively with any troublemaker irrespective of how highly placed he/she is. Whoever want to turn Nigeria into another Libya or Syria shall be dealt with by the masses and the army. We are saying #NeverAgain shall will experience another crises. We shall collectively vote Jonathan and together shall we defend our mandate.
Sycophant!

March 28th can't come soon enough. When the weekly stipend they pay you people ends, i hope you'll find some other means to keep body and soul together? cheesy

Why not direct your ire to the party sponsoring and empowering ethnic militias and groups like OPC and MASSOB, while at the same time turning a blind eye to folks threatening violence in the creeks.

More like a 'direct victim'.
Celebrities › Re: Davido Replies A Girl Who Called Him Disgusting Gorilla by texazzpete(m): 2:27pm On Mar 16, 2015
Look at all you clowns, calling a 12 year old girl disgusting names like 'bitch'...all because of a celebrity who doesn't know you exist.

What is WRONG with you people? She's childish because - get this - she's a CHILD! Yet here you have folks who are 20+ years of age calling her a 'bitch'. A Child. Are you people insane?

You could have left it at Davido's retort. But you unpaid voltrons have now taken it up to cyber-bullying levels. Crazy.

Embarrassing thing to say.

By the way I can't believe you just said Ronald Reagan was one of the best presidents. Really? Reagan?? Reagan that was a well known racist?
Speaking from the point of view of Americans. He was revered by the Republicans and the Democrats gave him grudging respect.

Do you care what the Cameroonian people think of your president if he's performing for you?

But he's so old.......... sad
Ronald Reagan took power at the age of 70. He is one of the best Presidents the US has ever had
John Kerry is the same age as Buhari. He is the US secretary of state, a far more demanding job than what Jonathan is doing right now.
Mandela took power in his 70s. His tenure is still being hailed widely
The italian prime minister is 70. His predecessor (Berlusconi) stepped down at 75.

Only in Nigeria do you see people lamenting about an age of 72 when the far more important necessity of positive change hangs in the balance.

Family › Re: If This Was Your Husband What Would You Do? by texazzpete(m): 11:03am On Mar 14, 2015
OP, it's a waste of time bringing this to Nairaland when we already know what will happen.

The woman will go crawling back to her Husband soon. By taking this step, she's just really weakened her own position. She should have stayed and talked it over between the two of them.

I kinda agree with the @freshcvv poster...why is there so much emphasis on the guy 'getting his papers'? If they were in love in Africa before, why can it not be seen as a natural extension of their relationship for them to be together overseas, not this insistence that the guy was only in it to get his papers or that he is 'misbehaving' because he has the papers now?

Ngwakwe:
You are totally confused.

Who arranged and defrauded Nigeria with fake Bokoharam ceasefire that led to lost of lives, villages and military hardware? - Idriss Derby, the Chadian President.

Now tell me how Nigeria wasn't cooperative when we even followed his stupid arrangements by disarming our military for BokoHaram gains?
So you're saying Goodluck Jonathan is easily deceived and misled? And should thus not be entrusted with the Presidency again?

Thank the lord Ngwakwe has finally seen the light!

Describing it as 'made love' means it was fully consensual and she enjoyed it.

What remains now is the feeling of guilt. the lady gave her the correct advice...it is sheer selfishness to want to pass that burden on her mother by telling her. Avoid the guy after a frank discussion and agreement that it must never happen again and move on. Simple.

Clueless Government

After years of telling us that Subsidy should be removed, as soon as oil price dropped back to a level where subsidy was no longer being paid, the Government brought back subsidy in a politically motivated move to drop price by N10 per litre grin cheesy grin

Now thanks to this and the drop in value of our Naira (in itself stemming from atrocious policies of this Government and the frittering away of our reserve cash), Subsidy is increasing.

All because of desperation!

These people will always deceive with pictures...until one gets to actually use the airports in question.

Poor cooling, abysmal infrastructure (escalators not working, bad lifts, horrible toilets), shockingly long wait times for luggage, shoddy construction work...

Upgrades have been made, but we certainly aren't getting good value for the monies spent on them.

It's hilarious seeing all the clowns trying to downplay the achievement of the Chadian army on the first page.
Chad crushed al Qaeda fighters in Northern Mali. They are led by a President who has cojones and knows what needs to be done to equip a nation for warfare.

Boko Haram has been rampaging since 2012...and supporters of this regime are not ashamed to say it took 3 years to equip the army to face this rag-tag BH forces.

Instead of learning how austerity budgets are made and applied in times of economic downturn, what we have here are armchair critiques with no recourse to details of projected income.

Secondly, supplimentary budget can always be forwarded to NASS at any point in time as the economy and income generation improve.
Instead of using your head and seeing how the Minister was complaining about being repeatedly shortchanged since 2011, what we have here is you still applying the same model of reckless optimism that has always led Nigeria down the wrong path.

Meanwhile, amnesty payments and payouts still go on as usual without any cuts.

I'm impressed by his decision not to unduely throw his political weight around just simply because he could but that he rather seized the opportunity and devoted his time to observe the lapses flight scheduling and boarding and was decent enough to even give reports. That's impressive.

Its only when the Minister and State Commissioners for transport decide to take public buses on the roads that we all ride on daily, that we will begin to see better roads. It is only when the Minister and State Commissioners for education put their children in public schools that we will begin to have access to better education.

I'm quite disappointed that like most Nigerians, Mr Chidoka does not know the difference between 'I'm' and 'am', or has the usage changed?
Why are you so easily impressed?

it is not any news that Nigerians have been suffering extremely poor service for YEARS from these carriers. Successive aviation ministers have done nothing to ameliorate this. Nursing mothers have been left stranded at airports for over 6 hours, with only a perfunctory apology.

Unless he has been living under a rock or is pretending to be deaf and dumb, he has known about this shite for ages now.

These cowardly terrorists are killing our fellow men, raping women and slaughtering children. Your fellow Nigerians! Instead of preaching the gospel of unity, you are contributing to the disunity that is tearing us apart.

As far as I am concerned, people of your mindset (APC or PDP) are in league with Boko Haram in the express purpose of destroying this country.

Since the Boko Haram started their deadly attacks on innocent civilians in the northeast, no opposition groups have organised any protest condemning the terrorists activities.

But the few men that have volunteered to join hands with the government to fight the terrorists; are been condemned by the opposition parties. it is a shame.
It is a shame you make this about Politics. What is the point of making protests against Boko Haram? Did Boko Haram promise you anything? Did anyone vote for Boko Haram?

Please provide links for where the opposition parties have come together to condemn people for fighting against Boko Haram or forever hold your lying tongue.
