4llerbuntu: Just got my 2009 SE xperia x10 running ICS smoothly this morning. tried and tried before.Buy Nook color from me na, just 20k. Wanna get rid of it...very hackable ![]() |
acidtalk: Omesexy Diva yes we all know there's nothing to worry about. My Uncle's wife supported him with her job when he was studying, helping him pay his school fees etc. I don't know where this apocalyptic impression of women you insecure men have comes from, but many women out there are very supportive of their husbands. I don't know why many Nigerian men are so insecure, always afraid of 'washing panties' if the woman earns more than them. I kneel down and pray everyday that my wife will earn more than me...that way i have more money for gadgets and holidays ![]() |
Mannylex: The commissioner explained that such vehicles could be traced to the owner’s home with the newly introduced automated vehicle licensing and renewal system, also known as AutoReg.So basically, LASTMA and the Nigerian police can now note down reg numbers of exotic cars and lead Armed robbers to your house Good times, eh? ![]() |
Updated my Galaxy S III to Omega 27 ROM based on official Jellbean release ![]() Phone's really smooth, Google Now works well and things are much better from the older JB ROMS ![]() |
4llerbuntu: yawnSlow down? Iphone 4S outsold every other single phone on Verizon, AT&T and Sprint from release in 2011 Q3 to August 2012. Slow down my behind ![]() |
4llerbuntu: attention please.BUHAAHAHAHAHA Surely you're not serious! Look, listen to me slowly. The iPhone 5 is sucking out the oxygen from most other phones now...but eventually some calm should settle. In October, Microsoft will release Windows 8. 99% of the computers that will be bought during Black Friday will run Windows 8. Hundreds of millions worldwide will update. The first thing you see when you boot up is the Metro interface In November WP8 handsets will arrive. Nokia's exciting Lumia 920 will show up, along with the Samsung Ativ 8 and the HTC Wp8 phones. These will sell decently especially with the strong similarity between Win 8 Metro and WP8. In November Samsung will release the Galaxy Note II. Expectedly, review scores will be high. The GN II is good for at least 3 million unit sales in North America. By December, Christmas sales will comprise of these phones...and most people will spend their available cash in the Christmas shopping frenzy. By January 2013, CES 2013 will come around. CES is usually when the best and brightest of the new SoCs are shown off. Samsung will stay away as usual, but expect the next wave of Motorola, HTC, Sony and LG hardware, running on A15 CPUs and much more powerful GPUs. Specs lovers will be tempted to wait. By say February when BB10 launches, most folks would have been snapped up by the other competitors. This is the massive mountain RIM has yet to climb. PS: please remember I did not mention the rumored Nexus phone from RIM in Q4 2012 or early Q1 2013. That's good for another couple of million sales too. |
FRESH AIR!! ![]() |
Intellectual poverty abounds in Nigerians. How can a thread devoted to showing development in imo State now turn into showcase of hotels and quarters for commissioners and Governors? |
SlyIg: Your mother is dead. Confirmed.BWAHAHAHAHAHA! So you actually think you're a Christian? In one breath you pray for someone's mother (who has done nothing to wrong you) to die. In the other you start praying to God and expect Him to hear your prayers?! Kai, the evil is strong in this one. |
AmBeautiful: Am sorry you are no longer a man!At your age, you don't know the difference between 'I'm' and 'Am'... |
99% of the Kidnappers and car thieves in Nigeria will start closely monitoring this thread. So basically it'll be an expensive (venue ain't cheap) gathering where we can all strut around our expensive toys and feel great about our lives? What next, show off your wife/baby day? if you want a meet-up, that's fine...but the car part just seems a little....tacky ![]() Flame me if you wish ![]() |
mashnino: Why post this drivel here when half the world now knows the iPhone 5 crushes the Galaxy S III in most benchmarks? ![]() |
mashnino: is dat all?So a random internet fellow thinks he knows what I should prefer when it comes to phones? I would play Street Fighter MUCH MUCH more than I would do Bluetooth transfers. Is Bluetooth file transfer the only thing you can complain about? |
5 million iPhone sold in the first 3 days of availablity...And apple still hasn't rolled it out in much of Europe and Asia. Still 22 more countries to go before year end. It took Samsung 100 days to sell 20 million units ![]() |
Dondbuzor: So this all they can manufacture? Inspite of these their threats!Iran is one of the most advanced countries in the Middle East. Not up to israel's level but they build formidable short range missiles. |
all4naija: Seriously, I feel sorry for Texazzpete! I repeat, seriously!Still coming back for more? Imagine this guy sending me links with info on iPhone alternatives...when i've drummed it into his thickened skull that I use a Galaxy S III.
|
HQ: @Coogar Just had to point it out. Some folks translate stuff literally. If na that one, know that the iPhone has had the highest customer satisfaction rating for any phone for 7 years running. The user experience and customer feedback is always higher than any other phone out there ![]() |
Please Inspired use the same system you used in the Autos section to clean up this section. See how this ITGuru guy has flooded the entire section with his ads. |
hornipipe: yes it is.I long for the day when you will ask "Are you a Christian" instead of clinging to denominations. |
BlackBaron: Onlive thumps all of that @ Texazz.Onlive will never work in Nigeria. Street Fighter x tekken came out on iOS a few days ago. it's anybody's guess when we'll ever see an Android port |
all4naija: Okay! I give up to your silly argument. It is sad most people quite understand your type. Insults are your watchwords and you can not do without them.TRANSLATION: "I have seen the error of my ways and will cease and desist from making a mockery out of myself" Bawss1: @TPApologies, but the man is just exasperating! No attempts to do any research for himself ![]() |
all4naija: First and foremost, Anandtech is not a heavy weight in the tech industry - it is an online computer hardware magazine set up by a 15-year-old individual called Anand Lal Shimpi. Please, stop making it looks as if it's something heavily recognized by others as tech giant in the industry. I would only listen to such reviews from company like CNET(for broad tech based contributors), organization like EEMBC, etc. Seriously, you know nothing about benchmark(which I quite agree specs don't tell all about computational ability of a hardware and also a benchmark thing you are pedaling around). There is no way dual-core can outperform quad-core in multitasking in Application benchmark while testing same applications on both system. They have been feeding you with synthetic benchmark and you are here to act as if you know much at what benchmark represent in all of this argument. You see why I consider you a borderline m0r0n? Even after providing you links and ample time to google up his name, you still come up with brainless drivel about Anandtech. You say Anandtech isn't a heavyweight...and isn't recognized? Here goes http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/07/27/anand-shimpi-reviewer-from-raleigh_n_1708488.html RALEIGH, North Carolina (Reuters) - Anand Shimpi is one of the most influential tech industry figures you've never heard of. From his start as a teenager building PCs for students and faculty at a college in his hometown of Raleigh, North Carolina, he's become one of the semiconductor industry's most closely watched reviewers. His website, AnandTech.com, is all about product performance, plain and simple. Shimpi measures exactly how fast the latest Intel processor really is, how quickly that graphics chip will render the latest video game, how long that laptop battery will last. At age 30, Shimpi is courted by technology executives and followed by Wall Street analysts keen to hear his well-informed product views. He briefs Intel executives, dines with Asian PC executives and commands a loyal following of tech enthusiasts, with AnandTech.com drawing 12 million unique visitors per month. But many chip executives, Wall Street investors and technically minded consumers see Shimpi's meticulously collected test results as the most authoritative and highly trustable. Dozens of widely read blogs write more subjective - and often more easily digestible - reviews of laptops, phones and tablets based to a large degree on how much the reviewer likes the product. Increasingly, those reviewers conduct limited tests of their own, using "off the shelf" benchmark tools. Still others make mention of Shimpi's data, painstakingly collected using proprietary tests he has developed over the years. "We have known Anand for a long time," Jonney Shih, chairman of the big Taiwanese computer-maker Asus, told Reuters by email. "We definitely share a passion for technology and we respect his in-depth knowledge and the thorough testing that he does." You still don't get it. The more you try to make Anandtech look like a small fry compared to the likes of CNET and GSMArena, the more foolish you look. And I enjoy pointing out your folly. Nobody who knows anything in tech would ever DREAM of dismissing Anand's opinions as trivial. all4naija: I never insinuated in any way in my comments that iPhone cannot multitask but with its processor it will lag behind when compare to Galaxy S III. Looking at a typical smartphone makeup it is palpable there are many things going on at the background(just like when you open your task-manager in your PC and see lot happening at the background). This whole idea of quad-core is no more useful than dual-core has be over-exaggerated online for far too long without proofs and for the simple reason of multi-threading(which is important to any application), in the actual sense most systems are multi-tasking among many threads or programs. Keep deceiving yourself that a quad-core is no more useful than a dual-core.You dolt! You still will not learn. Click this link below to educate yourself http://www.extremetech.com/computing/112013-how-multitasking-works-on-android-and-ios I know you have a phobia for learning and may not click the link, but in iOS an app placed in the background enters a suspended state where its state is loaded in RAM and the app stops running code (except for VOIP, GPS and a few other specific apps). Android goes about it differently but ultimately in recent versions of Android OS, the running app gets loaded to RAM. Please READ that link and stop bothering us with this drivel. You can open up 50 3D games on iOS one after the other and the phone will not lag. all4naija: Where did I say Apple said or I said forecast(it doesn't mean from Apple - jeez!)? This is what I said in quote " It's obvious it's loosing support faster than forecast. Have you forgotten the set 20-million-first-day-buyers limit only to sell nothing more than 5 million at the end? ". Indeed, the sale was even lower, to the tune of 2 million not 5 million mentioned here on Nairaland. It would do you good to read and comprehend other people's comments before asking for sources and willing to pay 1 million Naira you don't have!Nice attempt trying to dodge the issue. Why not tell us who set the so called 20 million target? The 2 million sales you're stupidly bandying about is not first day sales, but total number of PREORDERS in the first 24 hours when the preorder option became available. I miss arguing with 4llerbuntu. At least he was able to parse information and come out with credible arguments. You're just sadly wrong on all counts. all4naija: Analyst never said it is the fastest selling phone ever but 'the fastest selling iPhone ever' and could be the major seller too. You are becoming iPhone addict.Your obsession for the product is immeasurable! It is obvious it will sell high for the reason of sentiments and you have proven that in your comments as well - with a title like 'iPhone 5 Most Powerful phone out, Beat Galaxy S III -Anandtech Benchmarks'. How is it the most powerful phone in the first case? What about Samsung Galaxy S III Jelly Bean? Please, learn to state facts correctly in your posts. Nevertheless, I am waiting for Samsung Galaxy Note 2 to be released by October 1-2(probably two weeks from now) so that the iPhone 5 over-hypes can be done away with for once and for all.Fastest selling smartphone ever, hands down. AT&T says it's their fastest selling phone ever too. You blind fanboys are ridiculous. If Galaxy S III sells well, it's a great phone. If iPhone 5 sells well, it's because of sentiments. How hilarious! There is no official Jelly Bean release on the SGS III...but even then, it will not change the benchmarks to any significant level. The hardware remains the same and Anand's testing is top notch. Galaxy Note 2 uses the same chipset as the international SGS III...so expect it to take a beating in GPU benchmarks at least ![]() all4naija: I can't imagine you saying " The iPhone obliterates any single smartphone in sales with ease...and has the HIGHEST user satisfaction ratings. I'd say they are doing much more than 'competing'. That's reserved for the HTCs and Samsungs of this world ". However, you are entitled to your opinions and they don't speak for the facts out there. This is why you're coming across as an incoherent buffoon. I post some info and instead of giving it some thought to research my claims, you just dismiss them out of hand based on your limited imagination. You want facts? Here they are http://appleinsider.com/articles/12/09/07/apples_iphone_tops_jd_power_satisfaction_survey_for_8th_straight_time Apple's iPhone tops JD Power satisfaction survey for 8th straight time https://photos.appleinsider.com/jdpower-120907.jpg Apple tops ACSI satisfaction survey for cellphone manufacturers http://www.tuaw.com/2012/05/15/apple-tops-acsi-satisfaction-survey-for-cellphone-manufacturers/ Hope this helps...i'm, ready, willing and able to educate you when the need arises. |
mashnino: ignorant dudes...That's good for you. I rarely see the need for that anyway, I have email. On my iPhone 4S i used to play Street Fighter IV online. I switched to Android and there's no release version for the Galaxy S III. I miss playing Street Fighter, Soul Calibur and Infinity Blade more than I miss sending files via Bluetooth. Different folks, different strokes ![]() |
But will it beat the Samsung GN2? I doubt it. Time will tell. https://mobilehike.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/09/samsung-galaxy-note-2.jpg
Galaxy note 2 uses the same chipset in the international SGS III. The same Quad core Exynos, the same Quad core Mali 400 GPU. Only difference is CPU clock speed upped from 1.4Ghz to 1.6 Ghz. It's anybody's guess how CPU comparisons will go, but as far as the GPU is concerned, the iPhone 5 CRUSHES it completely. |
All those launch issues, still slaughtering anything Android in sales. it must really rankle, eh? |
aze: And This TooBoys, if you ever needed the definition of the word 'troll', here's one ![]() |
albacete: Not 'one way' but driving against traffic. People don't drive against traffic 'by mistake', it's always a deliberate act which often results to loss of lives on the part of pedestrians who probably might not look on both sides of the road before crossing.I'm not sure if you're just trolling, but in the new lagos law, you'd lose your vehicle if you drive into a one-way road. Eko Ile: The punishment fits the crime since the danger associated with driving on the wrong side of the road is death or fatal injuries. No vehicle is worth more than the lives of of your fellow man. Think about your actions and the lives you are endangering. Other jurisdictions in the same Nigeria are confiscating cars left and right for less offense, but its obviously a big deal because this is about Lagos state.Apparently it's only in Nigeria that driving against traffic can kill people. Show me any other civilized country where the penalty for such a road traffic offence is CONFISCATION. What happened to fining the driver and confiscating his Drivers license that most sane societies do? Abi their citizens there are invulnerable? Nonsense! |
aze: Lest l 4get, the new innovative iMaps will help you round melting bridges, navigate theAt least on the Appstore there are offline Navigation apps from Garmin, Tomtom etc that do a very good job. No TomTom or Garmin app for Android, sadly ![]() Google will soon launch their maps app on the iPhone anyway. PS: So this is what you're reduced to after the 'I HAZ SUPERIOR SPECZ' arguments has been taken away from you? Lame ![]() |
all4naija: You are fond of this your all pedantic nurtured yet cultivated manner of I-know-it-all brandish regularly on Nairaland. Not only that it is laughable but unassertive to pass your points across. Indeed, I am beginning to see your points being fully exhausted for the simple reason you resort to some tempers while repeating the same things yet inconsistently with some disputed benchmark reports!Kai! All that verbosity, so little intelligence! I don't know it all...I just know tech much much more than you. The ONLY person on the entire Internet disputing Anandtech's benchmarks is yourself. If you doubt me, ask the more intelligent fellows like 4llerbuntu and na2day if they dispute these. all4naija: There is no way a dual-core can outperform a quad-core when it comes to multitasking - which is a common thing users resort to in present times(you don't want to accept that fact as an iPhone addict). I can use my phone to browse, make calls, play games and send messages while having a chat at the background. I don't think you really know how much this means to most users, than coming here to keep repeating your biased claims about the non-innovative ideas recently coming from iPhone 5 release and benchmark reports coming from companies bent on following sentiments. They can't fool me - I am a rational being unlike the others(they obviously know themselves)who are moved by sentiments. For one thing, the ability to multitask is much more dependent on available RAM and not the number of cores. Since most apps aren't optimized for quad cores...and since a dual core CPU with much better architecture and process size will easily outperform an older Quad core SoC, there's absolutely ZERO basis for your claims. Yet another reason why you're technologically illiterate. I'll bet you think a 12MP Sony Ericcson cameraphone will yield better pictures than a 10 MP DSLR. I'll bet you think a 3.2Ghz Pentium 4 is even faster than a 2.3Ghz Core i7 CPU. You know nothing yet your pride will not let you learn from your betters. Sad. all4naija: I can use my phone to browse, make calls, play games and send messages while having a chat at the background. I don't think you really know how much this means to most users, than coming here to keep repeating your biased claims about the non-innovative ideas recently coming from iPhone 5 release and benchmark reports coming from companies bent on following sentiments. They can't fool me - I am a rational being unlike the others(they obviously know themselves)who are moved by sentiments.Actually, you can do ALL of that on an iPhone. You can be playing Infinity Blade II, take a call, send a quick SMS and then go back to your game and resume from where you left it without any lag...all this while having Skype and Facebook messenger running in the background. Have you been living under a rock? There's a reason why the iPhone has the HIGHEST satisfaction rating of all phones out there for the 5th year running. So according to you, Anandtech is 'following sentiments' when they use popular, commercially available benchmarks to test a chipset? Do you have any idea how deranged you sound? It's extrememly hilarious to hear you say that...and then go ahead to describe yourself as a 'rational human being' in the next sentence ![]() all4naija: FYI, I would rather have Nokia 8310 do the job for me than the close-mindedness of the iPhone 5. It's obvious it's loosing support faster than forecast. Have you forgotten the set 20-million-first-day-buyers limit only to sell nothing more than 5 million at the end? Jeez! That speaks of a failure to me if not to you.Yes!Here's a deal. Show me anywhere Apple claimed they'd sell 20 million in the first day and I'll pay you 1 million Naira. Every analyst is saying this is the fastest selling iPhone ever and you're here babbling about failure? https://i0.kym-cdn.com/photos/images/original/000/131/351/eb6.jpg?1307463786 all4naija: if iPhone was to be the only smartphone in market few would be entitled to have it due to continuous disregard for the general public demands. If they must compete very well in the near future they must learn to listen than dictate. The iPhone obliterates any single smartphone in sales with ease...and has the HIGHEST user satisfaction ratings. I'd say they are doing much more than 'competing'. That's reserved for the HTCs and Samsungs of this world all4naija: On the final note,I am waiting for your response like a buffalo soldier!'Buffalo soldier'?! With the way you've been babbling, I'd say more like a buffoon! ![]() |
4llerbuntu: i thot the new king in town is d iphone 5?Today is Sunday. iPhone 5 was released only 2 days ago (Friday). Those videos were uploaded before Friday. Hope that helps...since you've apparently given your brains the day off. |
2kurupt: ^^^How often does one get in a scenario where you get to use the full potential of the hardware of these two devices? Coz these benchmarks charts, graphs don't mean shet to the average consumer (& we know they make the chunk of the market)Are you on crack? iPad 2 had a dual core CPU in March 2011. iPhone 4S from last year was dual core. Have you been living under a rock? PS: yes, apps that utilize both cores have been on iOS since 2011. Games that utilize all the available horsepower are on the Appstore (see Infinity Blade II, Real Racing 2 for example) |
Hoodrat: are they given the iphone 5 for free? No, but I'll give you a free copy of Brighter Grammar if you ask nicely. |

Street Fighter vs Tekken is one I'll love on android. Till then, it's MAME et al
