That said, the NExus 4 is an awesome phone for markets like Nigeria where LTE isnt anywhere near coming out.

at $349 for the 16GB version (around 60K), why would anyone pay more than double that in Nigeria for an iPhone 5 16GB? Hell, even 2nd hand iPhone 4S sells for more than that in Nigerian shops and on Nairaland.

The way Android software is evolving, I don't see myself springing for an iPhone ever again. If the Nexus 4 had a 32GB option, i'd ditch my SGS III for it.

4llerbuntu: i bolded some of the features in 4.2 because THOSE ARE THE THINGS M$ IS UNVEILING AS THEIR KILLER FEATURES RIGHT NOW FOR WP8.

now just wait for some cats to start threads telling us how WP8 has these features better than Android grin grin grin grin
Don't be a muppet. These features have been known for ages on Wp8...
The fact that alternatives exist on other platforms doesn't make it any less of a 'killer feature'

Also remember that EVERY SINGLE WP8 DEVICE will have these features. Wanna guess when 4.2 will come to most of the Android phones out there? Even new Android phones being released for a while will likely ship with 4.1.

The only phone that will have this feature this year is the Nexus 4. And US consumers will not spring for it in droves because of the lack of LTE.

Chelsea fans are whiners!

I certainly did not see Chelsea fans protesting when Torres scored an Offside goal against Reading earlier in the season to make it 3-2.
http://article.wn.com/view/2012/08/23/Fernando_Torres_offside_goal_leaves_Reading_fuming_as_Chelse/

I certainly did not see Chelsea fans demanding Mikel should have been sent off. Afterall, Valencia was wrongly booked for diving when the already yellow carded Mikel fouled him.

Less than 3 years ago, a ref allowed Chelsea to sneak a win against United when Drogba pulled down a defender, allowing his teammate to head into the now undefended goal. Chelsea went on to win the league by 1 point. I did not see any Chelsea fan complain about that.

Funny the Lagos State Govt will never tell us how many people Fashola indirectly killed when he foolishly fired all the state Doctors in a fit of egotistic stupidity.

Instead of adding the pocket change to their salaries to pay the much overworked doctors on par with their federal counterparts, he stayed playing kalo-kalo with the lives of the people he swore to protect.

Nonsense

JOXY: You need to drive on the roads to understand what I am saying. Most of the Okada riders are very lawless. They don't care if they damage your car like their 'UNCLES' (danfo drivers)and their 'COUSINS' (keke Napep)they will always force their way through, and when they scratch or damage your car all they do is to beg you.
Well guess what? When Okadas are banned, those same passengers will take Keke and Molue. The number of Molues and Kekes will drastically increase...so where do you see your improvement in safety coming from?

I'm glad you drive on the roads. Get ready for more traffic jams as this lazy Government dallies on rail and water transport and still forces you lot to share the roads with those crazy Molue and keke folks.

I wish you goodluck and patience grin
Politics › Re: Okada Riders Protesting In Lagos? by texazzpete(m): 11:07am On Oct 22, 2012
take dat: The stench of hypocrisy hung in the air. If other states had banned Okada and no one raised objection to it why should we then condemn Lagos state for following suit. Does it mean if a state like Imo or Bayelsa bans okada, the riders should move to Lagos?

Okada business has been hijacked by people from Niger Rep. And Chad. The evil associated with Okada far outweighs its benefit.

Those complaining that the government should find alternative for them should tell GEJ to provide employment for those who had lost their jobs in banks and the unemployed. There is much need to improve our agricultural sector, they(rides) can return to their villages or learn a craft after all.
Of all those states you mentioned, which of them has a third of the population of Lagos State? Which of them has a serious traffic issue?

My friend, get your brains working jor!

But The Cons out weighs the Pros in multitudes.

A friend just called me up that men on motorbike attacked his church member in surulere yesterday and even shot her.
We should also ban Danfos and Molues because of 'one chance'
Also ban cars because robbers use cars too.

Abi?

Why not ban Governors since we've seen Governors prosecuted for theft in the past?

Nonsense.
Politics › Re: Okada Riders Protesting In Lagos? by texazzpete(m): 10:47am On Oct 22, 2012
Hallmarks of a lazy Government.

You haven't solved the terrible traffic gridlocks that keep folks on the road for hours...making Okada a much faster means of transport for short distances. You haven't adequately exploited rail and water transport schemes to get more folks off the congested roads. You haven't taken a critical look at the numbers of folks plying Okadas and estimated how many thousands of cars and buses would enter the roads to offset this number (thereby increasing congestion). You haven't asked yourself how the tens of thousands of Okada riders are supposed to find work now with their means of livelihood gone.

And you want to remove Okadas.

The bigger cretins are the elitist, narrow minded and myopic Lagos motorists who support a proposed ban. These m0r0ns don't realize that the inconvenience of seeing these admittedly pesky Okadas is nothing compared to the massive increase in traffic from the increased number of buses, keke and cabs to cater for the Okada riding crowd.

Ignorant Nigerians.

The floods were largely caused by the release of water from the Lagdo Dam in Cameroon and the kainji dam in Nigeria. Not rainfall. So this flood was NOT predicted by TB Joshua.

Nonsense fake christians, already clinging to these 'predictions' and 'prophecies'...almost veering into idol worship too.

Also, as far as I know, there has been significant flooding as a result of rainfall in Lagos for the past few years. This kind of 'prophecy' is a no-brainer huh

Of all the parables Jesus gave, the vast majority were about helping the poor, showing love, Christian charity etc. ZERO on Tithing.

In the Acts of the Apostles, there's no mention of the Early Christian paying tithes.

James 1:27 says this: "Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world"

Shamefully, you modern day misled 'Christians' are reaching far back into the Old Testament's Malachi and using that top support tithing...when there are no more LEvites amongst us.

Which is more important, Listening to Jesus Himself and looking to his teachings and parables for guidance or digging out that passage from Malachi that was aimed at the Jews of the Old Testament?

pak: @Claus, if you ever decide to contest any elective position in this country please call me. I will be ready to sacrifice means and sweat to back your campaign and I mean it

You indeed are a rare breed amongst Nigerians.

For the first time, I have real fears for my country. The problem might no longer be just leadership, if indeed this is the level of reasoning of the average citizenry, then am sorry there is no hope. The abyss is the only direction we can go.

You mentioned two things - 'Clearly emotions are running high, otherwise we would all be able to discuss this thing rationally.' - Sir was it not the same high and unreasonable emotions that caused the initial killings in the first place, was it not the same emotions that caused the boys to attempt what they did in the first place - clearly we are being caught in a web of violence where everybody seems ready to throw an excuse for being unreasonable.

Apart from the people that were clearly seen in the video, I believe that the "innocent until proven guilty" mantra needs to apply. It will go a long way in sanitising our society. - Sir, please can you keep repeating this, so that maybe by continuous iteration, it might sink in
You thrice accursed m0r0n.
You base your entire argument on the fact that 'boys approached the debtor with guns'. This has been shown to be false by the inability of the vigilante group to produce the so-called guns. On an entire assumption, you go as far as questioning the sanity of the police. Are you on crack?

Even if the boys had come with guns, they are very well known to the Coxson fellow. Knowing how highly charged the community may be over a spate of robbery attacks, you do not raise an alarm that the guys were armed robbers.

Convenient for you pseudo-intellectual scumbags, isn't it, that the guy who allegedly got away carried away all the weapons from the scene. Even if you are correct and he was threatened with guns, A legal position can be taken on the Coxson guy for not just raising a false alarm, but for not doing all in his power to convince the mob that the guys were not armed robbers that have been terrorising the area. Vigilantes can and will settle quarrels if called upon.

Finally, no matter how much emotions run high here, I doubt many reasonable people would torture and burn others and cackle with glee during the process.
