But didnt Yaradua and Jonathan offer amnesty to kidnappers? What is different with this one? Abi kidnapper pass kidnapper?
Amnesty to millitants that they had been fighting. At least at that point it was clear that amnesty was the best option to avoid collateral damage. And the amnesty programme has actually greatly minimised the violence in the Niger Delta. That's vastly different from making no reasonable effort to check kidnapping and armed robbery, offering an amnesty programme from the state's lean purse to hardened criminals and then offering another amnesty less than a year later. But this isn't just about Amnesty. The man and his predecessor have been grossly incompetent and extremely corrupt. The people of that state need to take their destinies in their hands. That is all! |
MaziUche0:Then you choose. Choose between being free and being held hostage by greedy State Governors who will happily fiddle while you state burns. Do something about this in 2011 or i swear i will forever quote this defeatist post next time the likes of MetalGong and udezue start bragging about 'Igbo courage'. Offering 'amnesty' to kidnappers and killers. What senile rubbish! |
Jeez, where do you Abia people see such half-wits to be your leaders? If in 2011 this man or another proxy of Orji Uzor Kalu becomes the Governor, i'll forever see Abia indigenes as foolish people who deserve to be shackled hand and foot. I hope these cowards in Abia look to the Bini youths for example. In 2007, binis voted overwhelmingly to kick PDP out, even when the PDP candidate was a bini indigene and his opponent (oshiomhole) was Etsako. And after the riggers announced a PDP victory, you need to see how the youths took to the streets to protest. Nonsense! |
2BdBest:You cut the sim. The actual contacts are the same size in both a regular SIM and a MicroSIM. By the way and @OP, it's iPhone 4, not iPhone 4G! |
Sagamite:That's just one victim. And don't forget he refers to them as 'boys'. It's more likely that he's been doing this to young boys. Don't forget young boys are far more vulnerable and gullible than older teens. |
macjive01:Apparently, you're also not capable of spelling the word 'tribal' correctly. ![]() |
damas11111:We've also read many theories, by educated Americans too, of how Eckankar is the only religion that can save the world. Should we then believe it too? |
This statement coming from Akunyili shows how empty her rebranding campaign really is. patani:How do you improve the quality if you don't give them contracts? Oil companies are now being forced to use local products in many of their operations, only for the same federal Government to turn around and import something as low-tech as waste bins! Rubbish. |
coldhearts:You need to read more international news then. Walking out to express disapproval is not new. The Arab nations do it infrequently especially when Israel and palestine is up for discussion. This is not a brothel. Do you expect them to engage in shouting matches? When someone make such a ludicrous accusation, accusing a country of slaughtering 3000 of some of their brightest people, what do you expect them to do? |
MrPrsdent:The fact that the man was most likely involved in the rape of minors isn't important to you, just that the fellow is gay? |

fender:And you can also improve your accusation by posting your real name and address for verification. *sigh* some of you can be so brainless sometimes. |
soloqy:Read the bloody article. It states he asked for $100,000. |
kosovo:Kotaku is a multi-platform games site. Gamespot (not Gamestop ) are also multiplatform. Your opinions on their review bias is likely subjective. Please provide examples. So let me get this clear. You complain about bias from Gamespot yet you have no qualms quoting Playstation oriented blogs? |
kosovo:SO in summary, you're saying that Killzone 2 and 3 are just more of the same crap, eh? Please respond. I need a quote for posterity ![]() |
Jarus:Yawn. Wake me up when you people are actually serious. |
DEATH PENALTY FIRST FOR THOSE WHO LOOT OUR TREASURY AND DEATH PENALTY FOR CORRUPT LEADERS AND LATER FOR KIDNAPPERS,THEY THE HOUSE OF REPS WILL BE FAST TO ENACT A LAW WHEN IT IS TO THEIR OWN PROTECTION BUT WHEN THE LAW IS TO CHECK MATE THEM THEY WILL BE DRAGGING THEIR FOOT.HYPOCRITES,LIERS AND DECIEVERS.
Why do you people make such silly points? People are being killed, tortured and traumatised for life by these kidnappers and you're here making noise. No matter the order in which evils are dealt with, at least progress in the fight against evil is still being made.IMHO, not just death penalty but public executions by firing squad is required. Treating this problem with kid gloves is making these criminals bolder than ever. |
Of course Fashola is in on the money stealing game. Did any of you think otherwise? If a Government appointee is caught red-handed stealing taxpayers' money, the only sane thing to do is to charge him to court, punish him and retrieve the money he stole. Just sacking him and allowing him to go off and enjoy the money he stole? That's criminal. |
Just buy a modern phone already. You call that 'great graphics'?! Check out iphone screenshots of the same game https://www.touchgen.net/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/rf2011_iphone_screen_-4.jpg https://www.touchgen.net/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/rf2011_iphone_screen_-2.jpg |
kosovo:Troll, much? Good to know you'll hate Killzone 3 ![]() |
@Kosovo Can you PLEASE stop posting news from playstation blogs or websites? Look for news from Joystiq, Gamespot or Kotaku and others instead of this biased crap. You ruin what little credibility you have when you do this. |

Lol. This ain't gonna happen. "The West African elite, who see it as the language of commoners, like to dissociate themselves from Pidgin. They want their children to sound like Upper Class Britons. That attitude is wrong because it has to do with identity. As second users of the language, we must promote varieties of English."This logic is laughable. So because we're second users we need varieties of English, abi? We chose English as a national language because we needed a common language to communicate. We couldn't use Hausa or Yoruba or Igbo. That would never have worked. Now after taking that step someone is saying we need even more diversity and variety! No. |
Gamine:You complain about English evolving but Pidgin English changes far more than Queen's English. See Wikipedia's article on pidgin languages A pidgin (pronounced /ˈpɪdʒɪn/) language is a simplified language that develops as a means of communication between two or more groups that do not have a language in common. It is most commonly employed in situations such as trade, or where both groups speak languages different from the language of the country in which they reside (but where there is no common language between the groups). Fundamentally, a pidgin is a simplified means of linguistic communication, as is constructed impromptu, or by convention, between groups of people. A pidgin is not the native language of any speech community, but is instead learned as a second language.[1][2] A pidgin may be built from words, sounds, or body language from multiple other languages and cultures. Pidgins usually have low prestige with respect to other languages.[3] Did anyone say we had to learn english first? All we're saying is, it's the national language, so everyone is expected to learn this. For 12 years English is taught to students in different forms and so naturally the expectation is that people should thus be reasonably fluent in its use. There's a big advantage in speaking English. You can be sure that you're automatically able to communicate seamlessly with a good number of peoples from other countries. It won't make any sense to jettison all that benefit just to develop Pidgin English. Even if Pidgin develops into a structured and standardised language, it will then replace regular English as our national language. Which will mean it'll become a subject, have a curriculum drawn up and will be tested at NECO and WAEC. And then we'll have these same failures. And then perhaps one bright girl in 2040 will suggest that we ditch Pidgin English for another language ![]() |
Gamine:We're talking about English here. Evolution builds on the old, it does not discard the old. Even if the curriculum remained the same, it should still be adequate. Gamine:And we're talking about O'levels here. The need for change from a 'cramming' based system will add more value in the tertiary institutions. And as English is a language that really should be used everyday, as part of our daily lives, it suffers a lot less from the 'cramming' syndrome than any other subject. If you're taught about punctuations, a good student is supposed to write and use punctuations every day. Taught about Oral English? Good students are expected to make the effort to pronounce words the way they should be. Comprehension passages? Deducing answers from our daily conversations should be enough real world practice. In fact, apart from a few exotic lessons in English, the subject should not suffer from this 'cramming' syndrome at all. Even Mathematics. It's a subject where practice makes perfect. If the curriculum is properly delivered by good teachers, there is little need to cram at the WAEC level. |
Mobinga:Don't compromise on quality. Why not just order from the UK so you can actually pick out the card best suited for YOU. |
I don't understand, what sacrifice did this man make for Nigeria? As a player, he wa given the honour of representing his country and he was PAID for it. What sacrifice? As a coach, he was PAID for his job. A job that gave him a wonderful learning opportunity and an opportunity for self-advertisement. He remains UNTESTED at the senior team level. His club, Heartland FC, were dumped out of the Champions League with him not even being able to manage a home victory. Yet we're supposed to pander to him? Globacom helped out with Largerback and Vogts salaries, because we felt we needed a lucrative deal to tempt experienced foreigners out of their comfort zone to our country. A Nigerian should have the extra motive of patriotism going for him. If Glo doesn't want to chip in, should the NFF bend over backwards to meet the demands of a coach who has not yet been tested at the senior level, without the extra power of our age cheats behind him? Nigeria is full of more deserving people that actually SACRIFICE for this nation. Professors of 25 years are earning 200k per month only. Doctors that spend 7 years in training start are poorly paid. Yet here's a celebrity coach (whose coaching achievements center around using overage players to pummel opponents with younger players in junior football tournaments) demanding 15 million naira a month of taxpayers' money just because Globacom were once foolish enough to pay out exhorbitant sums for foreign coaches. |
@banom Abeg modify the title ASAP. Which one be 2001 presidential elections? Unless, of course, IBB has mastered time travel. |
So apparently the 4th busiest airport in Nigeria accounts for 30% of all national passenger traffic? Someone didn't pay attention in math class ![]() @topic Good news indeed for Enugu State. |
Easy solution! Expel them from the PDP, then they have no legal right to challenge the internal decisions of a Party that they do not belong to ![]() |
naijaking1:'Facts'? My Dear fellow, Erastus Akingbola is being prosecuted on several charges. Anything he releases in the Media is just a smokescreen. He may as well save them and use them as evidence during his trial if that will exonerate him. His media war against Sanusi is a separate matter from the trial. Why should taxpayers' money be spent on a long, drawn-out trial while the fellow preens for the media? He is free to release anything he wants. if he's innocent of all charges, he has nothing to fear. So what are we saying? |
