Politics › Re: Mystery Of Israel's Secret Uranium Bomb :alarm Over Radioactive Legacy Left By A by texazzpete(m): 3:19pm On Jan 25, 2008
But then again, the original article was written by Robert Fisk. here's some more about the fellow.

Two weeks later, he took issue with a New York Times’ op-ed by Larry Collins which stated that Hizballah was stockpiling Iranian-made missiles in Lebanon which had the capacity to wreak unprecedented devastation as far south as Haifa. “The missiles are a myth,” sneered Fisk in the London Independent. “I travel the roads of southern Lebanon every two weeks and there are no such missiles.” Hundreds of these mythical missiles rained down on northern Israel during the Second Lebanon War. And after Ariel Sharon’s vow of revenge for al-Qaeda’s attack on Israeli targets in Mombassa the following December, Fisk ominously warned that Jerusalem was taking on “its most dangerous opponent in 54 years,” a “ruthless, highly-motivated, intelligent” force that could prove “more than a match for Israel’s third-rate intelligence men [and] … rabble of an army.” This doom-mongering was made all the more risible by the fact that Fisk had described the IDF as “the Middle East's mightiest army” just six months before.

No evidence of uranium-based munitions in Lebanon: UN
UN experts have found no evidence to support a press report that Israel used depleted uranium (DU) munitions during the July-August conflict in Lebanon, the UN Environment Programme (UNEP) says.

"The samples taken by the UNEP scientists show no evidence of penetrators or metal made of DU or other radioactive material," UNEP Executive Director Achim Steiner said in a statement.

"In addition, no DU shrapnel, or other radioactive residue was found. The analysis of all smear samples taken shows no DU, nor enriched uranium nor higher than natural uranium content in the samples."

This was in sharp contrast to the lies told by the Independent .

Careful to avoid leveling direct accusations himself, Fisk built his case by quoting uncritically and at length the claims of Dr. Chris Busby, UK Green Party technology spokesman and scientific secretary of the European Committee on Radiation Risk, that evidence gathered from bomb craters at al-Khiam and At-Tiri indicated that the IDF had used either “some novel small experimental nuclear fission device or other experimental weapon (e.g. thermobaric weapon) … [or] a bunker-busting conventional uranium penetrator weapon employing enriched uranium.”

The result, the article intimated, would be a public health catastrophe in Lebanon on a par with the “plague of cancers” which Fisk, despite International Atomic Energy Association (IAEA) and World Health Organisation (WHO) findings to the contrary, maintains U.S. use of depleted uranium (DU) is causing in southern Iraq. Israeli denials of uranium-based munitions use in Lebanon were presented as inherently unreliable and “begging more questions than they answered.”

Curiously, Fisk made no mention of the October 12th report by the Amsterdam-based nuclear research and documentation centre, the Laka Foundation, which found “no reason to believe that DU weaponry has been used by Israel during the July/August 2006 war.” And in the months since his article’s publication he has remained resolutely silent on the series of other investigations which have comprehensively discredited the uranium bomb theory. For instance, one week after Fisk’s piece appeared, Lebanon’s National Council for Scientific Research (NCSR) declared that there were “no signs of radiation as a result of IDF bombing … uranium-based munitions were not used during the recent war.”

Five days later, the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) issued a statement confirming that soil samples taken from 32 sites throughout Lebanon showed “no evidence of penetrators or metal made of DU or other radioactive material” and “no depleted uranium, enriched uranium or higher than natural uranium content in the samples.”

More recently on February 26th, representatives of the Lebanese Army, the Arab Atomic Agency, the Lebanese Atomic Energy Commission, the IAEA, UNEP and the WHO unanimously agreed at a an NCSR-sponsored symposium that there was no evidence of uranium-based munitions use during the 2006 Lebanon conflict, “depleted, natural, or enriched.”

"One man' terrorist is another man's freedom fighter"
This is perhaps one of the most insidious and evil quotes of our time.
It's easy to spot terrorism and terrorists. The UN underlines any terrorist intent as that which deliberately targets civillians and unarmed non-combatants with the aim of achieving a political or ideological goal.

Nowhere in that article does it state that Mandela sought to use the ANC tro kill and maim white women and children. Guerillas strike stealthily at millitary installations, personnel and facilities. never deliberately against innocent men, women and children.

That's the distinction.

The truth is, our gameplay was shockingly terrible, lacklustre and pathetic.
I cannot see where any need for future optimism comes from. Our players do not know the meaning of the word 'conter attack', they show little or no seriousness, they jog slowly even when they are a goal down. . .

@bjluv,
lol! So you're still stuck on WM5? I have a HTC TyTN running a personally customized version of WM6, cooked by me (with a base rom obtained from xda-developers). WM5 is old news. . .

Now, Quick! Tell me what features the iphone has that you can easily duplicate on your Wm5 phone. Is it the ipod function? Coverflow? Is it the beautiful and ultra-responsive touch-based interface? is it Youtube? Is it mobile safari, a full desktop-class web browser? Is it the 480 x 320 video resolution? Is it the ability to play itunes content, purchase music, videos and series wirelessly from the itunes store (the world's largest online store)
Is it multitouch, the ability to manipulate images easily by piching in and out?

You really have no idea what you're talking about, do you?

Since i got the iphone, my HTC TyTN has remained in the glove compartment of my car (until i figure out what second line to buy). The iPhone brings back the 'fun' in using a phone all over again, something tired iterations of WM and Symbian devices fail to do.

bjluv:
And I know you don't like Bill too and prefers Steve tongue lipsrsealed
I actually like bill gates and secretly loathe steve jobs. Go figure.

naijafan:
haha

texaspette, we might have to be on different sides on this one. . .

the iPhone is an empty shell. devoid of reasonable hardware except for the fast processor and graphics accelerator (which you can find in high end Nseries handsets - N95 8GB, N81, and N82)

you'll be smarter purchasing a Nokia E90 than the iPhone (even tho E90 might be more expensive)

nothing is smart about the iPhone, at least not yet.

i can't even browse my files on the iPhone. . . LOL. Apple made no mistake in calling it a phone anyway. That's about the only part where it excels. . . grin
Reasonable hardware, eh? Failed to mention the 480 x 320 ultra-sharp screen, did you? Or the accelerometer, huh? Or multitouch? Or even a touchscreen? Don't those qualify as hardware anymore?

None of those high end Nokia phones is nearly a match for the iPhone in multimedia and Web browsing. the iPhone has the best browser ever seen in a mobile device, and that's a fact that goes without saying.
With WiFi access, there's no other phone out there that can give you the level of enjoyment you can obtain with the iphone. The YouTube application gives me access to hundreds of thousands of Youtube videos specially encoded for the iphone, so it'll look far better than even when you watch it on your PC.
Sites like Google, Nokia, meebo and many others have customized versions of their websites tailored for the iphone. The browsing experience is unparalleled.

The phone runs a mobile version of OSX, and entire desktop class operating system. hackers have long since found out that Apple's claims in this angle were not false at all.
Apple hasn't released the iphone SDK yet, but there are many apps out there crafted by hackers. As soon as the SDK is released in february, real apps will come out that will quite simply blow anything else out of the water.

The iPhone brings about a new, fresh and original look at the phone in itself. It fulfils most requirements as an all-in-one device. It combines and iPod, Web browser and phone in one device.

Now, here's a question. What exactly do you gain in Nigeria when you upgrade from an N70 to an N95?

2. if you had read through my instructions, it takes little more than a few clicks to start downloading videos. It's put in bullet points for easy comprehension. i could have summarized the entire tutorial in a two sentences if i was sure the level of expertise of the people i was dealing with. Bullet points usually makes things clearer for most people so it's startling that it actually makes it more obscured for you. Strange

3. Vixy.net is online only. You're proposing Tubehunter Ultra which you need to download and install. Do you intend your audience to download and install tubehunter ultra in cyber cafes? Your point about not everyone having internet access at home would be valid only if tubehunter magically downloads videos WITHOUT an internet connection.

Isn't it funny how the son of a President who filled our ears with the words "Think Nigerian, Buy Nigerian" has made elaborate plans for ALL his children to school in both the US and Switzerland?

Turns out that all Obasanjo's pro-nigerian stance was just for personal gain
i.e

1. Ban importation of cement so his crony Dangote can make a killing
2. Ban importation of poultry products just so Obasanjo Farms can have no sizeable competition

There's really no good reason why you should give a man a fish to eat (fed for a day) when you can teach him how to fish (fed for life!)

1. Simply go to Youtube, search for the music video you like.

2. Click in the address bar to select the URL and copy it

3. Go to http://www.vixy.net select 3GP from the drop down menu (or Mp4 if your phone can handle it or you've got an ipod/PSP) and click convert

4. Download the file

Youtube's the best resource to find any music video you need (or many other videos for that matter). Even popular Nigerian jams can be found there. The resolution is pretty ok since you'll be viewing 'em on a small screen anyway

Now get downloading!

pizzadox and kosovo why are you guess action like thomas, in this computer age nothing is impossible, well for the ps3 emulator is very very much working but the only thing is that the requirement is very high, first to start with you must be using a dual core processor system which of course must have four processor clocking 2.8GHz each and with all these requirements the emulator is still very much slow, but we are working and so watch out,
Don't be a silly bore. there's no PS3 emulator, there's NO ONE working on one and PS3 emulation is frankly impossible on our current crop of PC hardware. No x86 CPU can attempt to emulate the cell processor just yet.
The entire PS3 Scene is currently focused on enabling access to the GPU in linux mode and a possible ISO loader.

i find you to be a very stupid person to insinuate you're 'working on' a PS3 Emulator. That laughable claim aside, i sincerely doubt you belong to any Scene whatsoever, talkless of the PS3 scene.

You made me laugh, however, when you confidently state that a dual-core processor has 4 processors. I guess you do not know the difference between dual and quad, eh?
