You are missing the point here . Have you checked the post on FP about this so called festival ?

This gives a vibe that the incident is peculiar to this particular town called Ozoro. It’s more like their own traditional festival as barbaric as it is.

It’s a culture that has no place in modern society . That we have groping happening at Covenant university does not mean a town should have a festival that allows women to be r.apped for coming out during a festival .
No, the festival doesn't advocate for rape and groping. As with most festivals where women are told to stay inside within certain hours, the punishment for being found outside is normally flogging, instead of the flogging that normally gets done, some persons now chose to go against the norm and grope/r.ape the women instead.

Yes , it’s supposed to mean something .

If they claim the barbaric act is a festival which they observe in the town , the fact that a government institution is situated there should’ve made them put a stop to it a long time ago .

At least down here in the southwest I’ve heard of communities that phased out some traditional rituals because of the presence of government owned institution which actually brings development to such town .

It just takes the school’s SUG to make noise enough to get state government’s attention and the commissioner of local government & chieftancy matters will sack the town’s traditional ruler . Students really get power o .
Odds are it was never this bad, or if it was, it was before escalating matters to SM became a thing. This whole thing would have likely started from one or two idiots and before you know all the guys around got in on the act.

My point is it's not something that's exclusive to particular towns or environments. Groping happens in markets, clubs, shows and inside universities.

In the link below you'd see an ex-CU student talking about groping that happened within the university, simply because lights went out.

And to think there’s actually a government owned higher institution in the town sef. 🤦‍♂️

I thought the thing was Twitter banger boys making the story up until I saw different people in the comment section confirming it to be true. One guy even said he did his ND and HND at the government owned polytechnic and although when he was in school the barbaric festival took place in ghe town each year.

Honestly it's an indictment on the Delta state government if indeed the festival has been happening yearly till now that it got national attention. Dem supposed suspend the traditional ruler of that town sef.
Is this supposed to mean anything?

It's not necessarily a raping festival, but because of how casual sexual violence towards women can be, the idea behind the festival has been abused.

These sort of festivals that restrict the movement of people under any guise have no place in today's society.

I don't like deliberate naivete. No small pikin dey among us

What was her ultimate aim of bringing his personal business to the public over an unpaid loan? She had already alleged, abuse and sexual misconduct so saying she didn't exhume his tweets on the other subject is moot

When you say someone is knacking his subordinates, abusing you and is operating a burner account among other things. Why won't they dig into his previous activity

Her primary aim was to embarass him and drag his reputation into the disrepute. Cost him his job and social standing. The outcome played out exactly as she hoped so saying she wasn't the one that discovered the tweets is very irrelevant to the matter at hand

It's like someone lighting up a quilt in the room and leaving the house then you come back and you're acting surprised that the entire house burned down
There's a reason why the law makes a distinction between first degree murder and manslaughter.

The discovery of Ezra's tweets on beastiality and paedophilia was an unintended consequence of the digging she was doing. Trying to tie the entire thing as one is a deliberate sidestep of the facts of the matter.

There was nothing that came directly from Maxispoke that made a dent on Ezra's online rep. In fact before the bad tweets came up, people were sympathetic to him as being a victim of an Onigbese ex, and he was getting praise for being a polygamist that maintained a harem of feminists.

Maxispoke was responsible for the loss of his position at Paystack. However, Ezra's online rep was annihilated by a groundswell of Twitter users (mainly patriarchy FC) that partook in a dig alongside Maxispoke.

You people are not being sincere. Not even one bit.

Is she not the one that brought up talk about him being abusive, knacking subordinates and staff,

How do you know for certain that she did not play a role in his past indiscretions being exhumed. Bearing in mind they knew each other from way back

How do you expect someone that was accused of all the above not have his past tweets dug out. Since when have we seen that happen? I don't like the favoritism una dey play for this matter

When you are telling men to stop graping women and we have tweets of a 24 year you flirting with toddlers are we supposed to just gloss over that abi wetin una dey even yarn sef
I followed the whole thing actively then, she wasn't the one that exhumed his tweets on paedophilia and beastiality.

She was digging his tweets and trying to draw up some a link between him and some other random account, this piqued the interest of the Twitter crowd and they joined in the dig and discovered everything else, even she was surprised at some of the tweets that got exhumed..at least according to the tweets she made at that time and how I saw it play out.

Odds are if she discovered those specific tweets before the Twitter crowd she'd have made them public, but sticking with the facts and how they played out, she wasn't the one that discovered the tweets in question.

I'm not saying Simi's tweets should be glossed over either cause they are terrible, shitposting or not.

I don't get the part in bold, Simi was not being inappropriate with a work colleague either

There is a part of this that probably everyone knows but we do not want to admit, As much as women fight for equality and abolishing gender roles, the truth is there are certain things including crimes that are more skewed toward a particular gender

There are certain crimes that are more prevalent with men and some with women, so it means a woman will get more leeway in a male crime and man will get more leeway in a woman's crime. These things while they might not be tenable in court but we know socially

E.g A witch is likely to be a woman, a robber is likely to be a man, A prostitute statistically is more likely to be a woman, a rapist is more likely to be a man

But because modern societal laws want us to be blind to these nuances it ends up tying itself in knots on why Its okay-ish for Simi to be kissing a 4yr old and not AG. A lady can joke that this 4yr old boy is my husband or boyfriend but it doesn't work exactly in the opposite way. Its why you would rather hire a female nanny than a male one ( doubt any of the guys in the men sphere nor feminazi will hire a male nanny or a female security guard)

These things are biological and Social which we have abided by for centuries but when we are in a world of equality of genders then we see things that look hypocritical like this

Bottom line men and women are different but equal and expectations differ
Yea, I'm referring to why he was pushed out of his company. The reason they gave for them pushing him out was him being inappropriate with subordinates, and not his cat and children tweets that leaked.

as an aside, it is called growth

which is why we say a person who sees the world the same way he did at 60 as he did at 20 has wasted 40 years of his life

i legit remember a conversation with a friend many years ago where she recounted a story of a bus robbery where the women were gang raped after the robbery. and she said - the robbers were considerate though, they used condoms. i looked at her but did not say anything . a year or so later this lady and her husband were carjacked and by her own account, one of the robbers kept trying to initiate a rape . i guess that would have been her period of growth when she learnt not to describe rapists as considerate

the only takeaway for me from all this - i called my son and reminded him that social media is a permanent record that can be used against you in the future and you must think very very carefully about what you post there. different people with different agendas can see your posts in future and use them against you. it is doubly important when you are young and want to say edgy things so you can look cool among your peers.

you want to see growth look at eddie murphy - the man who gave us raw morphed into a man making family movies. and today he is a solid family man. no way he will put out the content form the 80s if he was touring today.
I didn't even want to bring this up cause those braying for blood will not hear anything about it, cause they believe people should have the exact worldview they had 10-15 years ago as they do today.

It is still the same digging they did for her that they did for Simi. I don't see the crime there.

Anyone who was not sufficiently outraged then should not be outraged now. All Ezra did was ask for the money he borrowed his female friend.

That was also a form of silencing. Silencing that cost him his job and affected his social reputation

Simi on the other hand had to do was apologize for her out of pocket posts and not lie. 2012 was a different time. Instead she was still playing Victor. So you tell people to STFU when the accusations you were jumping all around turned out to be fake and then lied.

She went full Princess Kitana mode and feminazis egged her on. Well the time to play victim has sailed.

People will learn the importance of giving each other grace after this incident and that's what I'm most glad about
What truly nailed Ezra was the digging that was done on him and not any offence that people took because he asked for his money from his former lover.

His lover, the Maxi chick started a dig, but what she was digging for was completly different from what the people that joined her in the digging discovered...it was the other thing they dug that finished him on Twitter.

A case could be made for every tweet that Simi made up until the tweets on paedophilia came out, and those of us that called out the bullying she was dealing with before all of that had reasons to call it out. GloriousG that is trying to rationalize away her tweets as sh1tposting made same argument when Ezra was on the chopping block.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Theflint1(m):
Conventional wisdom on social media is that you should not bow to the mob, cause more often than not what they need is a good lynching, and not justice, so I'm surprised seeing people say Simi should have apologized. Someone is speaking specifically and generally on issue A, and you then decide that's a good time to bring up issue B that weakens the point she's trying to pass across, then take offence that she didn't acknowledge issue B in her tweets...lol.

Not even an apology would have saved Simi from the excavation that was being done on her old tweets, and we don't have to look far to see evidence of this. Disstroy posted what he thought was an apology video by Simi, where she pleaded with her online critics to forgive her and not destroy her marriage...did that stop Distroy from sharing more excavation materials? No, he and several others had latched on, and they were not going to stop until they got to the end of the matter.

Ezra's situation and SImi's are alike, but not exact. If Ezra had not been found guilty of being inappropriate with work colleagues, his situation would have likely played the way SImi's is playing out, by social media lynching and ocstracizing...his sack was tied to him fvcking subordinates.

And Ezra wasn't pushed out of SM by feminists alone, as much of the digging was done by PatriachyFC. Ezra wasn't a man that became a victim of feminists, he was a man that was as much a feminist as any other, and when his ugly tweets surfaced, was dealt with by men (who had never been his fan), and women who were offended that his past clashed with what he postures to be today.
