BlueRayDick: The point is :giving excuse that Tinubu didn't appoint Mba as IGP probably because there are skeletons in his cupboard is very very far fetched.
The simple and obvious reason is Tinubu wants to appoint a senior Yoruba officer whom he is familiar with as IGP and Tunji Disu fits the profile Simple.
Since when did Tinubu start caring about skeleton in any of his choices' cupboard?
I don't know about ethnic jingoism Sha, but most of the presidents have been appointing their kinsmen as key officials in their government. It's not like Tinubu is the first person sef. Yea, that's the obvious reason, and given what's come to be expected in the course of the APC government, it's within reason. And I dare say Tinubu will never appoint a person for a position if they don't have a skeleton or two in their cupboard. |

you aren't paying attention then
one of the things that did GEJ in was his admin was one scandal a month - from diamonds diezani to needful stella odua to interior stampede - and every single minister implicated went scot free. same for all those implicated in subsidy scams. tinubu admin made an example of Betta Edu which sent a message to everyone
we may never know what was in the NSA report on El-Rufai - but it was clearly bad enough to end the mans ministerial ambitions. and that may have been for the better considering all these inflated reports of christian genocide dayos people keep peddling
people keep screaming Tinubu is a thief a rogue , etc, but OBJ used all the FG resources and he could not find anything. which tells you one of the things we have argued here before - morality vs legality.
you are free to see Tinubu as an Escobarish Supervillain with his round table of criminals if it makes you sleep better at night sha.

BlueRayDick: I don't think so.
Tinubu obviously wants a Yoruba IGP most preferably someone he has worked with in the past and Tunji Disu is the most senior Yoruba guy at the police top hierrrachy who fits that profile.
Remember he was once Tinubu's ADC at some point. There's no how Tinubu will appoint Frank Mba over Tunji Disu. It's not about whether Mba has skeleton in his cupboard or not Simple as that, there's no need spinning around it. Tinubu is not the first ethnic jingoist we've had as president, there was Buhari before him, and odds are whoever comes after would be same. No need spinning conspiracy theories of skeletons in cupboards |

What women are Typically subjected to in public is sexual harassment
Outside of robbery attacks Actual rape is usually someone you know
As to being attacked in public in Lagos men and women share the same fear, being robbed. a person robbing you in traffic or the street has no time for sex, as public robbery is already high risk and you want to get away as fast as possible. GloriousGbola: if one is linking sexual abuse of women to Islamic extremism, there are multiple documented cases of this. it is school girls, not school boys being kidnapped by BH. it is female yazidi sex slaves, not male yazidi slaves. it is female captives being raped by BH the sex grooming gangs in the uk - are run by pakistanis [more cultural than Islam - but thats an argument for another day].
when you make a statement so obviously and blatantly false that can be adopted by people who will not bother to do their own research , expect to be called out. I did not think that statement was a sweeping generalization on Muslim Men. Neither did I think his statement on catholic priests was a sweeping generalization on catholic priests. Unless you want to be needlessly pedantic, there was nothing in that statement that implied a sweeping generalization. afrodoc2: The Bacha Bazi was the example he gave for his statement.
So he gave a wrong example to support his position,
Are you not seeing what is wrong with that?
Imagine someone comes here to say Enugu people are criminals and when challenged about it he gives examples about Isoko criminal activities. He gave the Bacha Bazi example after he made the statement. When I saw the statement my mind first went to those almajiri kids that are said to be molested by Alfas, didn't know of this Bacha Bazi example until it got brought up and I'm willing to bet that'd have been the case with most persons that saw that statement. Maybe GloriousG read his mind using his powers of telepathy and knew the example he had in mind was Bachi Bazi hence he took offence, or maybe they've had discussions around this sort of thing before. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Theflint1(m): 12:11pm On Feb 22 |
afrodoc2: The Bachi Bazi he referenced has nothing to do with Islam or Arabs though.
It was introduced into Afghanistan (then called Bactria) by Alexander the Great and his Seleucid and Graeco-Bactrian successors in that region.
Pederasty was common and often encouraged in Ancient Greece. They took that tradition to Afghanistan and it took root there. When the Greeks moved on and stopped it, many of those in Afghanistan did not.
The guy just maligned both Arabs and Muslims based on false information. Talking about quality of conversation. LOL The Bachi Baza point came after GloriousG took offence to the reference to muslim men. |

what makes it even more foolish is that the sexual abuse of young boys in Afghanistan is cultural and not linked to Islam in any way. as a matter of fact, if he is actually a person who reads and does not just run to grok or other chat bots for information he would know that post soviet defeat, the taliban became popular because their leaders were the ones who put a stop to Bacha bazi by different military commanders.
also edo men are wkers that fall over for agege bread - now tell me if that statement does not mean all edo men - seeing as i have not put any qualifier Lol, we've gotten to the crux of the matter, his reference to Islam is what you have an issue with, cause what he said was clear enough. |

DissTroy: I think 7 years isn't enough for confirmed rapists. I think they should be maimed by the state so they don't constitute further harm and a deterrence. Same thing to false rape accusers.
The law in China for damaging crimes is mainly to serve as a deterrence.
Sen. Elisha Abbo shouldn't be walking free because that was confirmed as rape. That's a start. Tonto Dike was still associating with Sen.Abbo.
Now that's an example of a man who deserves the punishment. Investigated and confirmed. Lol, so anybody that accusses another of rape "falsely" should lose their geniiitalia? So this 13 year old girl that accussed Elisha Abbo of rape, going by your standard of failure to secure conviction means punishment, he should have gone after her for trying to destroy his life? This your standard of failure to secure conviction means you should face the punishment the person you accused should have gotten, does it apply only to cases of rape or it extends to "false accusations" of every kind? |

and somehow while you are casually smearing all men, all catholic priests , all Muslim men with the sexual assault brush , you somehow forgot that there are multiple instances of American female high school teachers sexually abusing teenagers. You're the one that added all sha I think what he meant was to highlight the culture of sexual abuse in otherwise sacred spaces, wherein even when confirmed the punishment is no more than a transfer or relief of duties. |

DissTroy: You still don't get it or you're pretending not to.
Women who falsely accuse or are abusers get away with it.
For men, real or falsely accused, the consequences are swift - immediate.
There's a case on frontpage now of a woman who abuse her neighbour's daughter then framed the girl's father to get him jailed since 2022. The original statement of the lady being guilty has been found. She's walking free.
B_Moore in the link above who accused UchedandyMUFC is still walking free.
If Mirabel were a man who had admitted to same-sex relationship, he'd have been jailed.
If Mirabel had admitted to dating men like she admitted to dating women as minor at 17, the men involved would have been fished out and jailed.
You can local-search "Disstroy ràpe" to see me being harsh on rápists, even back in 2019. I ask for cruel punishment for them. Same with false rape accusers.
I've done more for råpe victims than the Kimberly above. I can share screenshots of offering to do promotional designs for an NGO which defends human rights in my state. I had an issue with one of them when I insisted Natasha provide proof of her allegations and I stopped offering them that freedom because I realized the founder was a rabid feminist. Only the other more logical ones now.
Next week, I'll be anchoring an event related to human rights. If there's anyone here willing, I'll extend an invite. After the event, I might mention the organization and founder here so people can confirm.
Yet to all these people, I never hide my feelings about these issues. Equal treatment and reaction is what I campaign for. When you say equal treatment and reaction, what exactly do you mean? How is it supposed to play out exactly in the eyes of the law? The reaction part might be a bit sketch, cause you can't really police what people find exciting to talk about, and it's not something peculiar to cases of false rape accusation. |

Lol, and I'm sure fair would be once you fail to secure a positive conviction for a rape accusation, you automatically should do time. What of EFCC that takes people to court, what happens when they fail to secure a conviction? There's a process to these things, and a lot of times, failure to secure conviction sometimes means there wasn't enough to fully convince judge/jury, and not that something might not have happened. But regardless, these things are not so straightforward, hence why you don't see counter claims by people that weren't found guilty of rape.
