Even the Daddy G.O's & CAN who should be leading protest, defending Christians farmers/villagers are all silent. This is too bad... Under Tinubu Nigeria has become the mass burial capital of the world. |

TemporaryHansel: How exactly does Peter Obi plan to contest the 2027 presidential election if he’s already scared of facing party primaries?
If Obidients truly believe he’s a political heavyweight offline, shouldn’t they be shocked that he’s dodging primaries and hoping for a free ride with a giveaway ticket? You can’t claim strength and still run from internal competition. It doesn’t add up. The same way he contested in 2023. Left to Atiku's Dollars, Buhari would have lost the APC primaries in 2014, took the intervention of Tinubu's Dollars to subdue him. |

Guess the reaction of the mob to Obi doing so. Bait indeed, instead of you to channel your energy to those that are issuing threats to political opponents, you're looking for who will join you to be praising BAT. Abi they told you BAT or his minions on the thread were praising Jonathan when he was in government...politics of love indeed. If BAT needs praise he has more than enough persons in his government doing that already, the job of opposition is to keep incumbent in check, that Peter Obi and others now and again praise policies is commendable enough. |

As of today, the federal government still pays money meant for lgas to the Governors not to the Lga accounts directly. Tinubu is a fraud. What are you guys celebrating for when he can't implement it? DissTroy: The above is why I don't really debate sociopolitical issues with many of you: You play politics of hatréd.
I mentioned three things I like about the Tinubu administration, you ignore the two you can't refute the nitpick on one which is stripped in technicalities and is partly a constitutional issue.
The idea that the head of the other side of the partisan divid gets even one thing right irks you lots.
It's exactly how you attacked Obi when he said something good about the Tinubu administration. And attack any Obi supporter who says anything good about the Tinubu administration:
- https://www.nairaland.com/8448267/tunde-onakoya-responds-attacks-obidients#135706366
See why I keep reiterating Obi is a prisoner of the Obidient Movement? The mob keep making my point. This is morphing into a cult. You mentioned three points, two of which are very much subjective and in truth not so important to the general populace, the meat of the things you scored Tinubu for was that LG autonomy and it's only right that gets primary focus. If you agree that LG autonomy hasn't really taken flight because of constitutional bottlenecks, why so eager to score the man for it ...I mean this is someone that has the senate functioning as a rubberstamp for him, don't you think if it was something he really cared about he'd ensure it's properly implemented? Theflint1: Not sure how BAT has managed to keep the Naira-USD rate stable, but it's one thing I can commend his government for. Doing even short term plans under the Buhari government was near impossible cause of how much rates fluctuated.
All things considered, Emefiele ought to spend the rest of his natural life in jail. The only reason the man should get any sort of reprieve is there's so many other persons in government that are just as criminal minded and did as bad if not worse in their little capacity. This was me a couple days ago praising BAT for the stability in the FX market, it's something that's an objective success, one that's trickled down to the general business population and I've rightfully praised his handling of the situation. I know you're always eager to praise BAT so it doesn't look like you're playing the politics of hatred, but fact is there's been very little to praise his administration for and that you have to resort to half-truths and subjective nonsense to maintain your "no-hatred" gimmick is downright shameful. Do better. And BTW, attached is the link of your claim that Peter Obi was praising BAT...maybe you now ignore what's clearly sarcasm in your eagerness to heap unmerited praise on BAT.

TemporaryHansel: You’re missing the point. Yes $14k per annum might sound normal by U.S. standards, but we’re not in the U.S., we’re in Nigeria, where the infrastructure, public services, security, and general quality of life aren’t even remotely close.
Even if we somehow excuse the $14K rent, how do you explain land selling for $3 million? That’s just insane. I once saw a building in Banana Island listed for $5 million and I couldn’t help but laugh. These prices are on par with actual global mega cities, but the properties themselves, both the houses and the environment, don’t even come close in quality.
Let’s be honest the numbers are inflated beyond reason, and there’s zero justification for it in the Nigerian context. I agree that based on intrinsic value, properties in Lagos are overpriced, but it's not always about intrinsic value, Lagos is a small city with a very high population, and that can create a situation where demand outstrips supply, and it's only normal the market reacts accordingly. Maybe the Lagos real estate market is a bubble, and if that's the case we only need wait. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Theflint1(m): 11:26am On Jul 20, 2025 |
TemporaryHansel: And that’s exactly why I said it’s overpriced. There’s absolutely no justification for a house in Nigeria to go for $14,000 per year in rent. Just like there’s no reason land should be selling for $3 million anywhere in this country, it’s ridiculous.
As you said, these prices are on par with luxury properties in Miami. But let’s be honest, who in their right mind would compare Ikoyi or Banana Island to Miami? It’s pure madness. The prices are nowhere close to being on par with luxury properties in Miami...14K USD is just over 1K per month, that's like the cost for a one bed in most mid-sized American cities. |

Like look at this thing logically ; she's not making any real offer here other than to sweet talk the property owner to part with the true and fair value of his property. You're looking at it as strictly business, where it's value vs value, when in reality there's room for sentiments in pricing. Not all the properties within same range in Ikoyi are priced same. |

You can't actually, realistically the least you'd get something like that, even in Ikotun is at least 2.5M (maybe if you be old tenant fit dey pay around 1.5M), it's just some mad stroke of luck. |

Olowunl01: There is always the rare case, where the landlord choose based on the potential upkeep and maintenance of the property that agreeing to 10% discount wont be out of place, personally I would take this person at 10% drop cos the chances are I would spend less renovating the property at the end of her tenancy.
Also some landlords in these highbrow areas, main concern could be assest as store of wealth, capital appreciation, and not solely focused on rental income. Old money will mostly choose tenant that gives peace of mind over profit margin, happens everywhere, absolutely no harm in the lady trying it might just work. The girl that attached her approach to property maintenance knew what she was doing, she was expressing a value that the landlord might not get from other tenants. She wasn't making an empty plea. |

If people who have money treat money like this, they will end up broke like everyone else. It's not about how the money is treated, if the money means little to the landlord they could let it go...the landlord on the mainland discounting 50K from 800K rent is making as much sacrifice as the Ikoyi landlord that discounts 2M from a 25M property. |

So because it happened in Ikotun u strongly believe it will happen in Ikoyi bá? I never said I strongly believe it'd happen, just saying it's not impossible...the human factor in negotiations of all kinds can't be written off, even for things people consider luxury purchases. If she was dealing with the agent directly, I'd say it's impossible, but she's dealing with the landlord, and the things he'd be considering renting his property out won't be same as an agent. For someone that's a proeprty owner in Ikoyi, that 25M fit be nothing for e cash flow, meaning they can be sentimental. |

BlueRayDick: Forget ghat talk.
Nobody lets out an Ikoyi property for a chicken change; not even a non profit organization will rent out a landed property at Ikoyi for a price less than it's true market value.
Real life no be nollywood bros. All the homes in Ikoyi are not evenly priced, and there's sometimes wiggle room in original asking when renting. It's highly unlikely the seller is won over by the letter, but it's not impossible. I know someone that till today, his rent in a 4-bed duplex around Ikotun is 600K. |

There's a reason most Anambra people were cursing Obi while he was the Governor taxing market women into the gutters while he dipped state funds into a dungeon, with little to show for the huge investment even after 10 years. How is it irrelevant? You were clearly comparing your father's business and investment acumen to that of Peter Obi. |
