raumdeuter: I am not a Lagosian, I have never claimed to be one. I am from Oyo
Lagosians like every host have a right to choose who come to their land and who is acceptable to them, They accepted foreigners like Yay, Igbokwe, Akabueze and they have rejected others
Just like America and any place pick the foreigners they want and those they don't especially those who disrespect their traditions cultures and insist their land is No man's land You're not a Lagosian, but it doesn't stop you from crying for the bereaved. How about you respect the people hosting you in Lagos and America by not speaking on their behalf, allow hosts settle their politics and deal with foreigners by themselves...don't meddle, by supporting some hosts over others, you're disrespecting the ones you don't agree with. Just sidon look, that's how you'd be truly respectful of your hosts. It's not you that's the foreigner that would tell the people that own the place that hosts you how they'd manage their affairs. |

raumdeuter: Lagosians are telling you to respect them in their homeland yet you are insisting on not listening to them
I am a foreigner in America and when you see an American telling me to respect them let us know
And not you acting as a spokesman for them, I believe Americans can speak for themselves Yea right, Lagosians like Raumdeuter and Afrodoc on Nairaland...orishirishi |

raumdeuter: Point to us the American wey complain give you. Has any american complained to you? Why are you crying more than the bereaved American
Why will the ask to respect your host become so much of a pain point to you? You first respect your hosts. The way you're a foreigner telling me to respect my hosts in Lagos, so too I'm a foreigner telling you to respect your hosts in America. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Theflint1(m): 6:52pm On Jul 09, 2025 |
raumdeuter: have the hosts come to complain to you? When they come to complain to you let us know.
Edo people told Ighodalo that he is not fit to be governor because he cannot speak the language, The Other candidate Akpata had to wax an album to prove his Edo bonafides
But na only Lagos concern you You've on several occassions admitted to being a foreigner in Lagos, that your parents immigrated there, so why are you the one always telling people to not have opinions about Lagos' politics...why not wait for the true Lagosians to tell people to not have those opinions. Wetin gan gan dey pain you about Lagos wey you no fit sidon look as the foreigner that you are to the state? Foreigner that has refused to stay one place...only you will not allow American's enjoy their politics in peace, same you won't allow true Lagosians give opinions on who's excluded and who isn't. How many Lagosians on this thread have told Elder not to comment on the state's politics...always the foreigners. |

TemporaryHansel: See how you’re dancing in circles. You’re shouting “why only Lagos” as if Lagos is a spiritual realm exempt from logic. The moment Lagos is mentioned, tribalists like you start vibrating like it’s a personal attack. Lagos is Nigeria’s commercial capital, not your ancestral shrine, so yes, we will talk about it more because its relevance is national, not village-level like some places you’re trying to compare it to.
You brought up Bianca like that’s your trump card. Oga, Bianca was opposed by a fringe group, not the state apparatus. She contested anyway because Anambra doesn’t have a legal structure blocking her. Lagos, on the other hand, has seen politicians actively push policies and campaigns built on “deport them,” “vote for our own,” and “you must be son of the soil to belong.” You know the difference, stop pretending.
And don’t act brand new, non-indigenes win elections in multiple states across Nigeria. An Edo man was once elected chairman in Delta. Hausa people hold local posts in parts of the South. Even in Enugu, a Yoruba man contested and nobody burned the state. But Lagos? You lot act like the Oba’s crown is your birthright and the rest of Nigeria should just wash plates.
You say “immigration is a privilege” yet you’re in a foreign land enjoying rights you won’t give fellow Nigerians at home. You celebrate Nigerians being elected abroad, but foam at the mouth when another Nigerian runs in Lagos. Hypocrisy is doing jumping jacks in your argument. Let’s be clear: what’s painful is not Lagos, it’s the double standard. The fact that you want openness, inclusion, and fair opportunity when you’re the minority in America, but when the tables turn in Nigeria, you become a bouncer at the gate of “indigeneship.”
You’re not defending tradition. You’re defending tribal paranoia. And the only thing worse than a tribalist is a tribalist trying to disguise his insecurity as patriotism. So stop pointing at other states like a guilty man trying to distract from his mess. Clean your house first before you start shouting about someone else's compound. It has to be said. If he was even consistent about it'd be understandable, but this is someone that every waking day is disrespecting true American's through his opinions, wetin consine am with American politics. Will he go to a persons wife and see husband and wife quarelling then automatically chook mouth inside? |

In Edo your state, Ighodalo a man from Edo but unable to speak his native tongue became a problem, Hw much more if he was someone with roots from outside Edo
But na Lagos everyone carry for head. We know what you are doing Or maybe it's you that would say what's paining you about people doing the exact thing you do in America in Lagos. |

raumdeuter: The left are mostly those who try to denigrate Americas culture and the right are those who uphold Americas culture.
Actually the criticism of the right is that they are too patriotic and flag huggers This is your opinion, a lot on the left point to the constitution as what protects their right to have the opinions they have, and every now and again have the courts rule favorably on those opinions, so you can't truly say which group is disrespecting the American way of life. In fact, that a ruling is made on something today does not mean it won't change down the road, so what's considered the American way of life evolves, and room is created for this in their constitution that allows for freedom of expression. Actually, if you really deep am, the only way you can say you're being truly respectful of people's way of life is by abstaining...you can't camp on the American politics thread expressing strong opinions on issues and say you're respectful to a people's way of life. It's like you come to my house and see my wife and I having disagreement over an issue then you the visitor starts expressing strong opinions on the issue, no way it won't be seen that you've disrespected either of us, or even the both of us sef. |

raumdeuter: They can be polarized on policies but the fabric of America I will never disrespect Most of my comments in American politics are very respectful of my host and I always repeat how I am grateful to be given the privilege to be here. Its not my right. America has given to me more than my home land did
I will never support anyone who disrespect Americas military, disrespect their culture, burn American flag, chant "death to America" . And how do you know your comments are respectful? Is it by saying you appreciate the opportunity America gave you after expressing opinions that tons of true Americans would disagree with? I'm sure a lot of democrats and far left groups would not look kindly to some of the things you say about what they consider to be the culture of America. Heck they might even question your right to even have an opinion about their country. |

raumdeuter: When I say dragging like telling them their land is no mans land. Denigrating their cultures of way of life, Or insisting they grant me rights I wont grant them at my place
For them to allow me stay in their country and give me what my own land wont give me, they have already overtried Lol, you know a lot of the things you give as your opinions in the US thread can be termed by persons who consider themselves as true American's as you not respecting the way of life of the hosts? In fact, with the way America's politics is so polarized, it's impossible to pick a position on anything without it being deemed you disrespecting a set of "hosts". |

GloriousGbola: the truth of the matter is that these things are easy to tell
especially as when doing a transfer you will label the transaction as payment for a service.
will you pay for a phone by transfer without labelling the transaction?
years ago gtb actually tagged my account as a tier 3 business account because i was being paid for PP through it
we engaged a seller to buy pumps. the guy said you can pay me direct no vat - or pay through my business account with vat. we paid him direct - but we also labelled the transaction. because you also need that for your internal paper trail
the FG is closing the loophole People can skirt around this by not adding descriptions. |

BlueRayDick: That's just one out of the numerous disciplines in the arts that have professors living beyond the meagre salary being paid by the FG. I'm trying understand how the others in the various disciplines cope The really talented ones are getting by, the less talented ones, not so much, they resort to begging students and taking bribes to get by. It's a sour situation which I believe would be a lot worse in schools outside of Lagos and the big cities. The quality of living of lecturers today are back to the pre Obasanjo and PDP years. |
