WackyJ1: Is it a crime to call the Wife of your friend by her first name?
I've known this guy since 2018. He met his wife in 2020.
They've done traditional wedding.
I once followed this guy to law faculty of our school during our Masters program and spent 6 hours typing the project of his then ex.
The same ex ended up blaming him for her misfortune.
I'm the best man for his white wedding tomorrow.
Yet, he's warning me for calling his wife her first name in the same sentence where I also referred to my girlfriend by her own first name.
He claims I was wrong and he has refused to apologise.
I need this one the front page.
Was I wrong?
MORE DETAILS https://www.nairaland.com/7563621/it-wrong-call-friends-wife/2#120932806 I have a friend who recently visited and called my wife "Mrs. X", while I don't mind, I felt he was too close for such formality so I said, "Her name is "Y" ". Of course it won't offend my if He still says "Mrs. X" as long as He knows He can call Her "Y". We are not small kids. Your friend should stop making it a big deal, except She is His Madam through and through and even He can't call Her "baby boo". |

Jones4190: how is it useless if they can still take it to bank This question shows you don't even have a clue about what is going on. Why do you think those returning 500k and above must deposit at CBN? It's like you don't know that even if you deposit 20 bill naira in old notes your withdrawal limit as an individual is 20k daily and 100k weekly. Why do you think Buhari only allowed for the old 200 to be spent? Do you not know that monies looted from various sources have dates and serial numbers that can be tracked? Why do you think the Ogun Governor was sharing old naira notes? Why do you think El-Rufai asked that people submit their old notes to Him so He can help them advance to CBN? Why do you think Jigawa Governor said they can still keep spending old money, even though the people say they instead do cashless transactions? Why do you think the politicians are so suddenly concerned for the people? Their money has become paper overnight. |

lhordspy: Firstly, before i begin my long talks, remember Pastor Adefarasin is a Yoruba man and a christian.
If you ask the same people attacking this man for not endorsing their Ipob candidate to tell you how the election in the south-e@st will go. They will tell you Obi will get 98% of the vote there in the SE. Ask them why, they Will tell you ethnic sentiment will play a major role there.
But these same people think the same ethnic sentiment can never play any part in Southwest but religious sentiment can. They think the Yorubas are stupid. They think we are daft.
These people are from the same region where Christians are 98%, where Muslims are next to nonexistent. Same people will come into the southwest and start preaching religious division, hate and marginalisation. They will tell you how Yoruba Muslims hates yoruba Christians. Explore and exploit the religious diversity of the southwest to preach hate among the yorubas. The same people who are 98% Christians forming pro. and expert on religious matter. Nons*nse people.
I wish after the election, INEC can make the list of the yorubas who vote for different candidates public. Win or lose . We want to know the saboteurs within us. We want to know the betrayers, the bast@rds. The people who are daft enough to be swayed on account of religious sentiment.
We want to make sure their generations to come will know about their treacherous act. They must be part of our history. We don't want them to share in our happiness as Yorubas anymore nor share in our pain.
This is the time to differentiate the Omoluabis from the Bast@rds. And once again to the Yorubas forming woke and liberal:
No you are not woke, You are m@d instead. They are making a fool of you. You sound so consumed by tribal and ethnic hate, It is obvious you struggle with the capacity to tolerate And it is affecting your ability to reason straight |
Politics › Re: Omojuwa Reacts To Attack On Pastor Adefarasin On His Refusal To Endorse Anyone by TheGift: 8:25am On Feb 20, 2023 |
dohyn: Several truths can exist at the same time. 1) Igbos are voting massively for Peter Obi based on tribe. I know he's competent but the tribal factor is key for them. 2) People should be able to vote for their candidate without derision even though it's the stupid choice, cos that's what democracy is all about. 3) A lot of Imams have pitched their tents publicly with Muslim candidates, so Adefarasin shouldn't shy away from pitching his as well. Point 2 still stands for him as well. 4) Any sensible person who wants the best for Nigeria would know that the best candidate contesting is Peter Obi. This means that if you want the best for your country, you would have to forgo tribal affiliations. 5) Most people supporting Tinubu and Atiku are doing so because of what they are gaining financially or what they think they would gain financially if their candidate wins. That's all 5b) Many Tinubu and Atiku supporters are also supporting on religious and ethnic grounds, certainly more than Obi supporters. |

This is the problem with this hotheaded generation. Judging the Man with unjust scales.
As a clergy leader one ought to be non partisan. The most they can do is promote the values/ in line with the word, that their people should vote for .
Even the Church of England understand this, that is why they are ALWAYS non partisan as a rule.
Yet some so called Christians are even joining to drag the Man. You think Jesus would have been campaigning for some candidate in an earthly kingdom competition when He was busy preaching the good news of Gods kingdom. ? Think again! |

He left PDP not because he had the people at heart but because he knew he can't with PDP primaries for presidential election. Yes he was in PDP but his past still follows him! Obi is a pretender he has nothing to offer. How do you know the motives of His leaving the party? Even when He was in the party Did he behave like other party members , who tied their fortunes perpetually to the state coffers, like you know who. It would be easier for me to believe if you tell me Tinubu -not His original name, with no primary or secondary school records or class mates, and sketchy University and work history is a pretender. |

For those who want to remain under the Law paying tithes , yes It is very proper. According to Deuteronomy 14 specifically vs 27. Which encourages us that while we are eating our tithe in celebration of Gods blessings we should not forget the widows, orphans , strangers and levites because they do not have an inheritance in the land. It is very wrong for you to give your tithes to a pastor who is well off and has other means of income.
Read it for yourself: Deuteronomy 14
"22 Be sure to set aside a tenth of all that your fields produce each year. 23 Eat the tithe of your grain, new wine and olive oil, and the firstborn of your herds and flocks in the presence of the Lord your God at the place he will choose as a dwelling for his Name, so that you may learn to revere the Lord your God always. 24 But if that place is too distant and you have been blessed by the Lord your God and cannot carry your tithe (because the place where the Lord will choose to put his Name is so far away), 25 then exchange your tithe for silver, and take the silver with you and go to the place the Lord your God will choose. 26 Use the silver to buy whatever you like: cattle, sheep, wine or other fermented drink, or anything you wish. Then you and your household shall eat there in the presence of the Lord your God and rejoice. 27 And do not neglect the Levites living in your towns, for they have no allotment or inheritance of their own."
But personally I believe under the new covenant we are not under he law and are not obligated to pay tithes (a tenth) but to give freely and cheerfully , not out of compulsion like the fear of some devourer.
2nd Corinthians 9:7 "Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver."
This is the standard of grace. |
