Movic1:What spreadsheet are you using? |
tonididdy:Australia has mandatory voting. Don't vote there, the law will come for thee. Nigeria needs that kind of law |
Mr Symington is the son of a very distinguished American politician. Unlike his pa, he is a career diplomat |
kestolove95:Jesus allowed it so that people will cry and in their crying vote for local leaders who would enforce strict building codes.. |
Kpene:Very funny, but hope still dey. PDP did do well in the SW |
tossie101:GEJ could have won if he and the PDP had put the party branches in Nassarawa, Plateau and Benue in order. Then there were states like Kogi and Benue that were sure bankers for PDP then...but went to APC because their governors were not doing well...(not that that their succesors are doing better...see Bello of Kogi). Also, there was the siege mentality in the camp...then incidents like the phone call a certain Tambuwal got from a certain someone in 2012..... |
DuxofMen: ![]() Abuja is a civil service town. TSA has made things more difficult. No money for extra fun. Of course.... But personally, I don't think that's the whole story. The PDP senator representing Abuja is very popular for example...and has been there for a while. PDP is on ground in most parts of the FCT. And the FCT is in the middle belt.... |
introvertme:SS Exactly I'm hearing voter turnout in SE ,SS was low.If it had been higher...if all their accredited voters had turned out...Atiku might have had a bigger chance. |
Okuda: ![]() The person you quoted is right. I remember back when GEJ was privatising the DISCOS. PHCN workers were holding daily prayer meetings against the thing. And yet at the end of the day, most of them lost their jobs. I'm not surprised NNPC workers voted against Atiku. NNPC sold...a good idea by the way...means job losses. THat's part of the reason why so many Nigerians don't want NNPC sold. |
jayloms:Even if Atiku won...so long as oil prices don't rise above $140..that's the magic number...the economy would still be bad. In January 2015...Ngozi Okonjo Iweala, was already prediciting and prophesiying that the economy was in a bad way...whoever won. By then, oil had been dropping for 7 months. Yes, Buhari should have appointed cabinet ministers, and yes, he should have hit the ground running. But even if Buhari had appointed ministers the second he took the oath of office, nothing would have changed. And if oil prices had gone up under Buhari...yes, things would have been better, but that does not make our economy good. Our economy runs on whatever the price of oil is. And we are producing oyel for 200million people (compared to Saudi that produces 5 times more our output and has 20million people...that's why they can live the good life). Where Buhari erred was that he kept on wasting money on things like subsidy, trader moni, etc. Then he did not set up a sovereign investment fund for all the savings we were doing (the Saudis learned that lesson after their economy lost $150bn in one year...without corruption, stealing etc...)And he should have sat down, told Nigerians the truth that we are a poor country, and also he should have cut excess in the National Assembly and civil service. And he was not aggressive in taking loans for power....and for heaven's sake...forcing DISCOS to charge for power below production cost? No wonder we don't have light. And Atiku wont have made things better. Apart from selling NNPC, he had zero to offer Nigerians except some vague promise of 'jobs' And he was even planning to spend far more on subsidy....which would have drained our reserves. And let's be frank...PDP is responsible for the mess we are in. GEJ threw away billions he should have saved...not that things would have been better...but if he had saved, we would have had a better buffer. And you want to vote those people again?(And how can you shout , rightly...at Gandollar, Amaechi, Tinubu...who most definetly has some issues...but we cannot prove it.....but keep quiet about Atiku's pending issue in the USA...) Anyway....as I write...it is early days. Atiku or Bubu might win. But whoever wins...Nigeria is in trobule. And the blame goes not to the parties but to people who laugh at candidates like Sowore, Moghalu.,Onasanya, etc...and go and vote for old men and women of all tribes who have nothing new to offer...except N100 for our hungry bellies. That is taken from our own pockets. |
Victorious1000:No, Jega started collation on Monday, continued on Tuesday. |
Mosesm:US and UK too have a large number of smaller parties... US Libertarian party. Reform Party Green Party (environmentalists). In the US, however, whether you appear on the ballot is largely determined in most places by the States). UK Liberal Democrats UK Independent Party British National Party Loony party. Scottish National Party Plaid Cymru (UK runs a parliamentary system...where the Party with the highest number of seats in Parliament selects their Party leader as Prime Minister...who is then invited by HM the Queen to form a government. And some of those smaller parties cannot be written off. If there had been a change in the system of doing things in the last election...UKIP could have been the second largest party in the UK parliament. Honest) And don't get me started on Germany that has about 20 other parties apart from the CDU, SPD, Die Linke. France is another one. |
Apeshy101:I don't think they pay moderators..... |
neezar:Actually, back in 1999, INEC won't register any party that did not have representation/offices in all the 36 states and Abuja....that's how we got PDP, APP(now APC) and AD (now APC). But the late SAN, SAM Gani Fawehimni went to the Supreme court and got a ruling forcing INEC to throw out the 'have representation in all states criteria on the grounds that it was not in the constitution (Uncle Gani had been trying to get his party NCP registered and INEC had turned him down) So, as a result, by 2003...we had 50 parties. It's gone downhill from there. |
hucienda:2023 is the year of the South. I expect a big fight between the SW and the SE over who gets the top job. I doubt any Northerner is coming in 2023. That's why Atiku ran now...and did not wait another 4 years. This was his final chance. |
Buhari has won this election I said that he who wins the Middle Belt, wins the election. Nassarawa was my 'red line'. And it looks like Bubu won there. Unless Kogi, Plateau and Benue and Taraba can do something for PDP (I expect PDP to take those states...). APC is guaranteed another 4 years. Anyways....I know that we Nigerians better start putting pressure on our leaders, instead of doing follow follow...because, let's be frank...PDP and APC are not the answer. |
Kingsley10000:So you want us to dash Lala our hard earned money? Remember that he just has new addition to his house.... |
hansomb:Buhari has won the election. Nassarawa is where it is at. |
Honestly, I don't believe this.... Okay.... |
Oblongata:Rumor has it that Igodomigido is coming back.... |
dhuthraki:If you have lived or visited the Zaria area...that zone is an APC zone. There are PDP supporters, but they are not good enough numberwise. |
Ehiscotch:Actually, both parties are chop I chop parties...PDP and APC. In a way, it is the reflection of what the followership wants. See how Saraki and Sowore were blocked and asked for 'something small'. |
Fraudophobia:All the crinkum crankum better beware o. |
Reader530:Sabon Gari covers a large part of Zaria metro area. |
Jayson1:Mixed....Sabon Gari is in the northern part of the state (essentially the LG that covers most parts of Zaria city to the west of the ancient Zaria city, while Zangon Kataf is in the South...to give an example. |
KubwaBoy:INEC has said that updates come tomorrow. So till then |
Oblongata:Because Nigerians want cheap airline. One of the things that wrecked Nigeria airways was the refusal of many Nigerians to pay excess luggage costs. Am sure if we set up an airline, people will insist on flying at 10000 per flight because we are an oil rich nation. And when the airline fails, .. |
ezkimow:You are looking for someone who will make you comfortable. You are not looking for God. Look for God, and all else would be added |
On channels a few minutes It was to be expected. The thing is...if we had gone ahead and spent money introducing electronic voting...results would have been out by now. But such is life. We could have had an electronic voting system...similar to what has been used in the past for national ID system among other things.... |
Mizwisdom:No Christian should be praying for the success of PDP...or APC. Christians instead should be asking why we Christians ,since this democracy started....have not made a difference. Christians have been corrupt, have been stealing, have been supporting bad things, and all our Christian leaders have not been Christlike in their leadership. And you want us to replace one form of corruption with another one. We Christians are the reason why Nigeria is in a mess. We want to be comfortable. We don't want to be righteous. So, praying for a corrupt Atiku to win is just as bad as hoping a Buhari would win. Time we stood for righteousness...or God will keep on allowing things like economic hardship and crisis to disturb us until we repent. “You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled under people’s feet. Matthew 5 vs 13 |
See you at eleven am tomorrow... SMH As I saidupthread….we could have had electronic voting in 2006. Some guy from india came to the National Asembly with a simple system that had been used in Brazil and Venezuela, and was not that expensive. And our National Assembly rejected the system. Of course...some Nigerians too would be suspicious of the system....it could be hacked...but at the same time...we know results fast. |
BecaciaBarbie:Seun is already allocating some millions for the Bentley, another few millions for the Rolls, another few millions for the Learjet, and some more millions for the Lekki and Banana Island mansion projects...plus the one for Abuja... |
