specco:CBN has stated as far back as 2016 that lower currencies are being limited because of forex and inflationary considerations. Sorry, but you don't have much of a Christian faith if common Muslims scare you. You aren't really interested in an explanation though. You just want Atiku to win so that your side can chop.just like the APC kids... |
SanusiGworo:Hmm, in 2014 you people were saying he was going to do it now. Now you are saying he is bidding his time. You sound like a conspiracy theorist.better wake up. An islamization plot is not going to happen. And why are you Christians so scared of Satan? |
profstar:And the reason why they are being limited is because we do not have enough forex to print these notes, as well as to curb inflation. CBN explained as far back as 2016. Also, the Arabic handwriting on the note is not form the Quran. It is the value of the note written in Hausa written in Arabic script. Hausa has been written in Arabic script for centuries.Roman script was introduced in the 1930s. Iranian, Turkish ,pashto, and Urdu are also written in the Arabic script or have been. Other systems include the Chinese script which has been used to wirte Korean and is innuse for Japanese. The Cyrillic script has been used to write Serbian and Russian English and most of the world languages use Latin or Roman script that was developed by the pagan Roman empire |
reyscrub:I have been using 100 naira notes as well as lower denominations well well. I even used then thus week. Plus as CBN has explained, they aren't printing new lower denominations so as to conserve forex. Because it costs the same to print one 100 note as it does 1000 note |
SanusiGworo:And why hasn't the predixtion that bubu would islamize Nigeria that you pdp people made in 2014 come true? |
profstar:So why are they printing the 5 to 50 naira notes that don't have Quran on then as well? And the 100 naira notes are still in circulation by the way |
collinsuchendu:Lexus is a Toyota brand by the way.... |
justbusy:I know APC has failed...but I am not voting for a man who helped bring Bubu for us, who has a money laundering case pending (and whom Bloomberg reported needed a waiver to enter the US), and who was part of the PDP machine that put us here in the first place. I want to sleep knowing that I always did the right thing...even if it is ridiculous. So,I won't support APC or PDP. They are one and the same. Atiku has no ideas on how to fix the economy. Sell NNPC...yes...but then reduce fuel to N90? How? By paying a subsidy we can barely afford. And how does he intend to get our economy off oil? Bubu on the other hand...is not ready to be honest with Nigerians about our economy and what it would take to fix it. Sorry....but PDP and APC are not it.Call me names...but no thank you. |
post=75982612:Berry questionable circumstances... |
Here in the outskirts..of abuja......power is now...10 hours a day for 1-2 days...then darkness. I don't expect an improvement soon. The truth is we generate 5000MW on a good day...7000MW on a really good day. Meanwhile, according to APC 's candidate for the Lagos governorship elections, Lagos town needs 15000MW. I used to be on AEDC's estimated billing at my previous address. I paid 5000-11000naira monthly. On meter now...I pay N3000 monthly(I try as much as possible to conserve power...power saving bulbs, plus switch off lights when not needed.). I know people won't like me when I say that we need to pay higher bills...but how else can we get the money needed to fix everything...especially now that it is private. As things stand....bills have to go up before we see improvement...OR we take a big hefty loan to fix things...which still means higher bills. |
dipopooo:That is the sad choice we have....because Nigerians are not ready for thinking person's democracy. Also, most of the thinking candidates don't put themselves out there. |
Tested5:Go to one of these banks, borrow N1 million, stake it on your game by yourself....and don't disturb us. |
![]() 1.I thank God for democracy. In the bad old days of army rule...the little lady's parents would have been guests of the DSS... 2.I hope the girl considers my candidate Prof Kingsley Moghalu. It is TIME! |
Seetto:And APC has gandollar, ,, grasscutter, osho, the jagaban, etc.... APC or PDP...they are the same. Nigerians deserve better. |
Racoon:N23 billion can't do much for us...not when the budget for education is about 900billion. We are going to take loans until oil jumps up to about $140 per barrel....whoever is in charge. |
Nigerfine2:The soldier had a blast injury. With some fractures. Obviously he is in pain, but he will, with time, get better. Already in the pictures we were shown, the wounds in the leg are healing well. They are forming granulation tissue, which is why they appear reddish. Then that metal thing around his leg is an Ilizarov frame. That frame will help a great deal with the bones of his leg healing. It will take some though. (The inventor of the frame once treated an athlete from his country with a fractured tibia and fibula bone. Took some three to four months...but in a year, the athlete was back in action). He may not need an amputation long termThe fact that he has a Ilizarov frame shows that the doctors and medical team think his leg is salvegeable. He needs better pain management. |
Some points to ponder... 1.The photos do not show a 'rotting' leg, they show that the wounds on the leg are healing, and granulating very well. That is why the wounds appear reddish. The yellowish spot is possibly a septic spot...which can be cured. 2.The soldier had a blast injury. Of course he would have severe pain, and it is going to take months before he gets back on his feet. 3.The soldier's leg is in a Ilizarov apparatus....which shows that whoever is managing the leg knows what he is doing. 4.Amputation won't solve the soldier's problem. He had a blast injury to his foot and as such he would be in severe pain.He most likely needs better pain management. 5.Taking him abroad....would cost a lot of money. Better he stays in Nigeria. If they can get him to a hospital like Cedarcrest...he most liley would get superior care. 6.Our hospitals are in a 'mess' because Nigerians do not want to pay for better hospitals. Our health budget needs to be as high as 5TRILLION, meanwhile budget costs...are less than a trillion. And in most of our government hospitals, we paylow fees. And then there is corruption. 7.I think the soldier's friends want to take him abroad, and want the Army to pay for it. The Army should look into this issue. However, I think any teaching hospital or private hospital in Nigeria like Cedarcrest can manage this case adequately. |
WisdomCanada:I will click like for Atiku when he apologizes for bringing Buhari to us |
LuciferReverend:Kalakuta republic was repeatedly raided and fela was arrested several times for weed possession. Infact one ex head of ndlea declared open war on fela |
bukarbi:So, this is the new format. Hmmm |
wise2odd:Because you educated people are lazy Some years ago,Ibadan, the 'capital of education' in Nigeria was dominated by a politican who had primary 6 education....and that was because the educated people preferred to sit down in their ivory towers...and do nothing. Buhari in 2000 was a nobody. But he went, put his face out there, campaigned, built up support, learned to cooperate with other people...and by 2015..he was the President of Nigeria. Atiku too....his popularity is the result of over 20 years of hardwork and connections. But all of you educated people , you who have more degrees than Bubu and OND Atiku....just sit down, grumble about how bad things are...and then vote for the people who are making it worse. Meanwhile, all those illiterates take an ACTIVE part in our democratic games. So stop blaming the illiterates. If you want change in Nigeria...go and join a party, build up support, be prepared to play the long game...and you know...you might be in a position to change things. Stop blaming illiterates. The illiterates are voting for the people they can see. Many educated people don't want to be seen. |
TheTourist:The healthcare budget in Nigeria is less than N1 trillion naira. Out of that money, we expect to fund over 40 teaching hospitals, and a large number of primary and secondary care centers. As a result, the cash is not enough, we don't have enough hands on deck, and the brain drain continues. Ideally, the boy would have been carried by an ambulance to a teaching hospital with a neurosurgeon for immediate treatment. But that would cost far more than your average state budget,or even federal budget to sustain. And charging higher taxes would be met with resistance...so we do what we can with limited resources. You cannot get $200000 health care at a cost of $20. It is just not possible. Too bad this election is a choice between the incumbent incompetent, and the corrupt challenger...who has issues. And Nigerians too....who don't want to make the hard choices to get genuine change... |
islandmoon:? I am employed by the way, I was trying to be helpful. |
Charlieluvboy:What are your qualifications? You cannot be asking for job without posting qualifications Also check the jobs/vacancies part of this site...click here |
Abfinest007:Okay... |
Abfinest007:Stop lying. How can you be sharing the same bank account with youngmd? Better get a real job. I am not insulting you. I am advising you for your own good. |
Effiongdbest:Meanwhile over 16 years of PDP, we had Odi, zaki biam, Boko Haram, pipeline bombings, Fulani herdsmen, and so on. Why don't we try a new party? PDP and APC are the same? |
Before you laugh, they most likely did not know. That is why VCT and education is important. Please everyone, know your status. I know mine, how about you? |
Abfinest007:Back in 2018,you claimed that you had a job, and you just needed cash to eat. Now you are here claiming mom sent you money. Stop this bad habit. Get a real job youngmd aka abfinest007. Scamming is not good. |
youngmd:But back in Nov 2018... Abfinest007:So.bros, I thought you had job now.... What you are doing is wrong. |
buchasman:Power distribution and generation have been privatised. Only transmission remains in the hands of the Government (security reasons). Under the arrangement, raising cash for the whole power system is now in private hands. NEPA has ceased to exist since at least 2014 |
....
Excellent analysis. However, the problem is,Nigerians don't want to hear such explanations, because long grammmar does not put food on their table. And let's be frank, the problem with such explanations is that it tends to absolve government of all blame. (I have been on Venezuela-related threads. I tell people the same thing you say...and get accused of backing Maduro). In my opinion, the government made matters somewhat worse by hanging onto subsidies and by having too many forex rates. They did do well by saving. Having said that...we have a vulnerable econony...and we need to take urgent steps to get rid of our dependence on oil. |
