It depends on what happened between the both of you. Sometimes, you might have had a fight that requires that each of you take some time out and be alone so you can get your priorities about your relationship straight and also to re-validate certain things that have gone wrong. Unfortunately, sometimes, this separation can lead to breakups but then it depends on how powerful your relationship was, not how long. Some relationships might have occurred within a very short period and it'll be like you've been together forever and that tells of the strength that the relationship has grown with because it takes a healthy relationship to come that far within a short time; in this case, it might be safe to say he's bidding on his time to come back, but this this has to hold, he must have felt the same with you in the relationship and this, of course, isn't a cause to worry about if you've come so strong with each other.

If you've been together for a long time, and also have come up so strong, you definitely might have to work your way through this and usually you shouldn't be bothered about losing him or not. I know this might be slightly hard for you especially if you're a woman as I have depicted, but sometimes it is needed so your relationship values will be restored. If you get back together without those things being resolved, they will lead to further disagreements and the relationship will burst wide open and trust me, in such cases, they never mend. There's a greater chance he'll come back to you if you both had a disagreement earlier.


Another aspect to this is maybe he's going through some very rough times and doesn't feel like having an extra stress added to what he's going through already. Some men can't handle stresses outside their relationships along with their relationships very well, they tend to bring the emotions and tensions into it and sometimes make the woman feel totally uncomfortable. Take a for instance, a man who doesn't know how to control his temper has a problem with his job, finances, etc., and you accidentally do something that ordinarily he won't have been against, then he flares up at you and raises his voice, in this case what would you possibly think? Such man knowing what his worries might cause will be wise enough to ask for some time alone.

Amaka, I still say that was a rant. You still could have made your point without being personal -- everything on NL you contribute to has to be personified; accept it or not, that's how you come across to a lot of people (not that you should bother what people say anyway). But as you always say, you have your freedom of speech and maybe this is on the only place you can exhibit and live that freedom, but be careful how you slander people because you never know how it feels when you're sneered at (if you've ever been done so to).

I have seen this story before, there's no need twisting the story, but I still maintain my stand that you've cheated; for you to have been talking with a guy in UK to a point where it led to you guys having a relationship (marriage talks is got to be about relationships, right?) while you still have a guy in Nigeria, then it's nothing but cheating at the highest order.
