PoliticsRe: Help Me! Disfigured Teenage Student Cries Out by TheSeeker(m): 9:49pm On Sep 23, 2009
The money can't be accounted for until they have made a fortune off the poor boy. It's not like the money is being paid into the boy's account or his folk's. Why can't they have his mom use her account, or her father or her uncle? Why should an organization -- that's not a charity organization -- open a separate account for donations that aren't traceable? We have to be realistic. If they want people to do something, they should use the boy's folk's account details for it.

We know they can make it out to be in his folk's name if they want but it'd be ascertained by the mom or dad or something. Issue has to make sense here. Nothing can be trusted in Nigeria; sad to say but it is what it is

The question isn't raising the money, it is, when the monies are being sent into the account, how are we sure they're going to be accounted for?

Nigerian government shouldn't have been pleaded to before they know this is one of their numerous and unattended to responsibilities. I'm ashamed at these supposed leaders. Animals.

RomanceRe: The Girl I Loved Most Broke My Heart by TheSeeker(m): 6:13pm On Sep 23, 2009
The truth is she never loved you as much as you did love her, not even half as much as you think she did. She was just passing time with you while waiting on another guy to sweep her off her feet. Move on and date someone else, and if she comes back, don't give her a chance. Once beaten, twice shy.
RomanceRe: Advise Me by TheSeeker(m): 5:59pm On Sep 23, 2009
I don't understand the "I was trying to ask her out" part. Did you ask her out or were you in the process? I want to assume you never asked her out but you wanted to. In this case, I think it's better you switch back to your friendship mode as it was back in the day and retrospectively introduce all that had been lost and more.

What she needs right now is getting over her hurt, however, if you know your way around you could make her feel better but believe me, that's so tricky and without patience it's going to be a hard task for you to undertake. If you don't know where to start from, just start being friends all over again and when the time is right for the both of you, you'll understand how to go about it, of course, it's going to be a lot easier then.

Again, while you are at it, ensure you make your intention known by your actions not necessarily verbally and that's to make her not fall for another man. I feel you didn't execute your decisions so well along with your wishes and that's why she left you for another man in the first place. Make sure you don't make the same mistake, and as well, with much more maturity and respect, let her know you want her by your actions. I think if you're saying it to her you want her, she might not want to take you seriously and that'll make her feel a little more distant from you, which on the long run will upset or displease you; so it's much better she sees it all in your actions.

Remember, it's often said that talk is cheap; and action speaks louder than words.

RomanceRe: k by TheSeeker(m): 10:04am On Sep 23, 2009
Now that's a classic. Your girlfriend forgetting your birthday smells doom and don't let anyone deceive you that it doesn't mean nothing, of course, it means a lot. I bet she doesn't know your favorite cologne, color, designer, food, etc. My girlfriend remembered my birthday, just one month to it and reminded me, and she's as busy as bee. Personally, I don't see any tenably acceptable excuse for her to forget your birthday. It doesn't make sense.

Let me tell you what I can decipher from her actions:

1. She hardly loves you.
2. You're not important.
3. You're not integrated into her daily life (how often do you talk or spend time with each other?)
4. Trust me, she has someone else who's important to her than you are, an exception could be made in cases where she's been hurt before and doesn't trust you that much in that relationship but that again boils down to you not being important to her at all.
5. If she could have forgotten your birthday twice then she doesn't remember or know anything about you except for your physical stats. Let me tell you something, birthday is one among the first series of questions you know about a date (potential girlfriend or boyfriend), so for her to have forgotten that, you're no where in her life and it's time you realize that.

What I suggest you do is have a discussion with her. Have a heart to heart talk with her, but trust me, she's going to give you some excuses not only flimsy but lousy ones. While you are at it, ask her very sincere questions. Ask her what she knows about you, ask her things you think are important to you which you have told her and she ought to remember. Ask her what she can tell about you. Ask her what she thinks your relationship is heading to after 2 years. Ask her how she intends to move on in your relationship, what she wants to do to make it move on, what her expectations her, what her aspirations are, how important to you are. And believe me, you'll find out she'll woefully disappoint you.

However, communicate with her and know what she's up to. By the way, what's your distance from each other? What's her occupation? When was the last time you talked about your birthday before it came?

My friend, think think think!

RomanceRe: Do You Like Popular Men Or Women? by TheSeeker(m): 1:06pm On Sep 18, 2009
A person is a person, there's no yardstick to their humanly existence owing to their popularity. So I really don't care if she's popular or not. However, popularity comes with its own share of chaos (but we fail to admit it); I personally wouldn't date someone who's popular unless I've been dating her before she got popular.
RomanceRe: Can Internet Dating Really Work? by TheSeeker(m): 11:25am On Sep 18, 2009
Yumi: I am not saying it can't work in the rare occasion I think it can. However the norm is that it doesn't, usually you have to get it offline and into reality as quickly as possible for it to have a chance of survival. There are many liars out there and the internet because of anonymity seems to attract an unhealthy share so women definitely have to be more careful in my opinion if dating someone online.
Being in a 'real life' relationship doesn't guarantee you'll know him or not. If you've had anything to do with players, you'll know what I'm talking about. There are some people who are bold-faced liars and it doesn't matter where you meet them - online or 'real life'. If women can meet dishonest men on the internet, so can the men too. Distrust and dishonesty in a relationship goes both ways - men and women, in both modes - online or 'reality'.

This is how I see it: When you meet a real person, no matter where it is you meet them, they carry on their attitudes and be who they are regardless of whatever situation it is. If a man is a liar by habit, he'll keep lying wherever he finds himself; if a man's honest, he'll be honest no matter where and at what level he operates. What I could admit if you had mentioned it is the facial expression (only if it mattered in any relationship), the physical aspect (sex-related activities) and of course, having someone to lean on - physically - when the going gets a little tough.

Cheaters will cheat no matter what unless they are not chronic cheats.

Yumi:
I am not sure internet dating works. I prefer to meet people in real life first. On the net people can lie about the reality of their situations and hide it more. Its a bigger risk.
Do you know how many liars have existed in this your 'real life' relationship? I want to ask though, the internet, isn't it real life? Is it in heaven?

RomanceRe: Can Internet Dating Really Work? by TheSeeker(m): 10:15am On Sep 18, 2009
Your observation is wrong and very myopic. Who says relationships from online doesn't work? What planet are you from? Let me tell you something, what goes on in a 'reality' relationship is the same that goes within the online circles. But the basic intent of chatting someone up online is to meet them and how different is that from meeting someone in your church, the next street, school, mall, etc.? Your view has to change or maybe you've been a victim of 'online heartbreak'?

The problem we have is that we always have a negative thought that the person behind the computer screen is a potential liar; I understand you need to protect yourself and maybe sometimes, expect the worst but when you get into something and you lose faith in it - in the very least - then be ready for such venture to fail. It's either you meet someone online or you don't but that doesn't connote that it doesn't work for others, and by far, there are lots of people it's worked for. Go out there and see the number of social networking sites that people are signing up at, and many of them aren't free.
If he still insist on you leaving him, then ask him to give you at least three genuine reasons(apart from tribalism and religious seasons) that should make you leave him. If he can't give any, then I would suggest that you go ahead with the wedding.
He shouldn't bother giving reasons. Asking him to give reasons will mean revering him more than he really is. He'll think nothing can be achieved about the marriage without his input. I think the best thing for her to do is when he keeps saying she shouldn't marry him, then she should ring into his ears that it's not his business; that way he'll get the message faster that he's not worth what he thinks he is.

follypimpi:

Am your bro and dont marry that WOMAN
!!! tongue
This is what I will do to you https://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/smiley-devil14.gif

Topic: There's just one thing I need you to realize and try very hard to understand me. Choosing someone to be your brother is entirely how you feel about them and how they relate with your wife, what makes the matter the more, and a host of other things but safe for the relation by blood. For instance, you might have a brother who you don't get along with very well and at the same time you'll have a friend who you can tell all of your lives and will do anything for rather than your brother.

What I'm saying in essence is, your brother has no role whatsoever to play when it comes to decision that has to do with your life. You're the main factor here and they are less concerned about it, but in some cases, they might have to be the one to watch your back, sadly, in your case it's not like that. What I see in your brother is obsession. He can't stand the fact that you're getting married. Maybe you both have been very close over time or your boyfriend had finally taken his place and he feels jealous about it, or he's just simply not wishing you well (don't rule this out). I'm not trying to plant what's bad in your mind but the truth has to be told anyways. He's either jealous someone else has taken his place or he's just being stupid not wishing you get married now.

When you go for the meeting on Sunday, please refrain from insulting any of your siblings but be prepared for the worst. Don't be surprised if he has found a way to manipulate the rest of your brothers into reasoning along with him (look out for that) but don't let that change your mind. If he's not going to be there at the wedding, who's going to be missing on the marriage photo album? Whose loss? Your brother is how old again? In his 30's? He's not thinking straight. His name is "eni je egbodo ti o n wa eni 'kunra". Don't insult him but hold your ground. You don't have to explain to anyone because I don't think you owe them any explanation. How many of them consulted you when they were about to get married? So because they are older than you, they have power over you? No! Your brothers regardless of how older they are than you, are just another human being you meet on the street; they are just another set of people you can talk back at with respect yet, making your beliefs and opinions known in the most profound manner.

Go on with your wedding plans and if for some reasons you don't have all their support, don't back out or you'll forever live to regret missing out on something that would have been the greatest life for you. Sometimes, these older brothers think they are up to something when in fact they are carcasses of disappointments themselves. Follow through your plans with your fiancee and make the most of it. I reiterate that you do not insult any of them as the whole blame will go on your guy as being your fuel to confront them, and you might end up on the blacklist of those whose support you've secured. You don't have to answer too many questions, just stay on your grind, maintain that point that you want to marry him regardless of what anyone thinks. Na today?! angry
