T'was the anti spam. You probably posted a "spam like" message i.e one message too many times, a really long message or you used words that catches the BOT's eye like abbreviations and stuff.
Sorry. It's happened to me a few times on here. I didn't include any profane language neither were my posts long, they showed and when I checked back they had been cleared. I didn't know it was a spambot anyways, so I kept on posting but luckily I've not been banned.

PoliticsRe: Is Nigerian Actually The Most Corrupt Nation On Earth As West Pronounces? by TheSeeker(m): 9:31am On Sep 15, 2009
I can't say Nigeria is the most corrupt nation but corruption in Nigeria is such that I've never seen or heard about any other country. Nigeria takes it all: Bribery, stealing, looting, nepotism, misappropriation - name it - and I don't see any country doing it better than we are, but I may be inclined to think there's at least one country worse than Nigeria in terms of corruption.

Well, I may slightly agree with some people who share the sentiment that America and Britain are both corrupt but don't you think if they were, these countries won't have had or achieved what they have today? There's a capable welfare for citizens, residents and immigrants in these countries so I don't see their corruption having any visible effect on any of their systems; it's only human that you take advantage of anyone who's weak. If the West has perceived Africa, Nigeria in this context, to be corrupt, they may as well have thought they could gain from our foolishness, after all, it's not their fault that we have chosen to be corruptly foolish.

Nigeria can be said to top the list of corrupt nations because our leaders have proven several times they aren't bothered with what views the world has of them. It's only in Nigeria that billions of Naira are found missing everyday. It's only in Nigeria that unnecessary allowances are given to political officers; it's only in Nigeria that leaders will loot money, found guilty and nothing will be done about it; it's only in Nigeria that there's no justice and no human rights whatsoever; only in Nigeria will you find all sorts of financial mismanagement at all levels - from sports to finances - and no questions will be asked about it.

I don't know of the corruption level of all countries in the world, and I can't say whether or not there's a more corrupt country in the world than Nigeria but Nigeria's corruption exceeds all bounds of measure to putting it in check. Let's just say corruption is a 'normal' practice in Nigeria.

A-Town, please desist from cussing on the thread. You've proven so much intelligence on the education section, why acting funny here? Take it easy abeg!

Don't you dare look down on me just because I don't share your so old way to see a marriage. As far as I am concerned, an adult is an adult, whether a man or a woman. If the woman/man isn't working because of a bad health or a bad economic system, I can understand.

Why the hell would a fit young woman be demanding money just because she has "suffered" to keep her hymen intact? You can easily deduce such girls are lost once they lose their virginity.

Cheap virgin slut. Not even your husband or a fiancé, but a mere boyfriend.
Good point! I didn't know virginity has become an investment a guy has to pay premiums for to keep. The way she's making it seem, it's as if it's a golden opportunity the guy won't want to lose, therefore, he has to pay for it to show its values. I'm also wondering, if she wasn't a virgin would the same thing have happened? I guess yes. I have to add also that there's nothing wrong if a guy chooses to help his girlfriend financially or if she requests financial assistance out of having difficulties or somewhat closer situations; but as a responsibility from the guy is totally despicable.

In my case, if I can afford it anytime, any day, I will pay for my girlfriend's hair, buy her gas, buy her stuff I think she might like or look good on her, and she's an independent woman, very independent. Notwithstanding, with pleasure, I will do all these and more even though she doesn't think they are my responsibilities.

In heaven's name, why would any girl stoop so low to start asking for money from a guy, especially for worthless things? I remember a topic like this was created some months ago on the family section. I'll see if I can dig it up

@seeker,he led me on INTENTIONALLY.there were times he asked if the feeling was mutual, when i said no,he was deeply hurt.what u av to undastand is dat he didnt hide his feelings,he told me he had them,bt didnt ask me out directly.so it was intentional.gues it was getting too serious and he realized he wasnt ready.it wasnt very easy for him to stop comunicating,bt he probably had to.
He had feelings but didn't lead you on. He didn't ask you out. And what's he didn't ask you out directly? What does that mean? He either asked you out or he didn't. I don't see any intent to lead you on here. I know you like him, and I have a feeling he likes/liked you, but you need to understand he isn't ready for a relationship.

You also said he was hurt when you said the feeling wasn't mutual, how do you know? Did he tell you he was hurt? How did he ask you out 'indirectly'? What can you infer from the way he likes/liked you? Did you both talk about dating each other at a point in time? Did he specify he was coming to that stage where he'll fall in love and start a relationship with you? How long were you talking for? I saw in one of your earlier posts saying that you know you were his kind of woman? How do you know this? If he told you, what were the things he told you makes you his kind of woman? If he did tell you, can you trace these things up to your traits and find them in your characters?
Me and my response seem likely feminist?? LOL, is that because I made some assumptions which work against the guy's favour?? I personally think that I made a few assumptions in that post, I did, I admit, I try not be too intense most of the time, but I think maybe this time I didn't have enough information to go on and it could have been too much. It was just the vibe I got from the poster, I recognise with how she is feeling.

It was the fact that they were both really getting along, probably flirting, and heading down the road for a relationship, and then now, out of nowhere he wants to stop everything - he's entitled to do so. I know a sensible and mature guy would think deeply before entering into any relationship however, I think this guy is simply doing a u-turn, he didn't think anything was wrong with the way they were acting with each other, until when it became obvious what she was expecting, who knows maybe he's just a flirt.
I think this guy is probably harmless, it's good that he at least warned her that he wasn't prepared to go further, so at least she has a choice to back out too. But intentionally or not, he led her on. .
Sorry if I misunderstood your stand but don't you think your first response to the post was one-sided in favor of the girl when actually the guy was upfront with her? I think it's biased, maybe a little bit, and that's why I said you sounded like a feminist right there (that's uncommon with you).

I recognize with the guy from experience as well. There was this girl I was having friendship with. She was very nice, a very intelligent woman any man would be proud to have. At the outset, the feeling was mutual that we would end up being in a relationship. I was looking forward to that, so was she. Somewhere along the line, I saw a few things about her that I couldn't cope with. It stood as at then and still does now that I don't and won't change a woman to my kind of woman. She definitely has to be my kind of woman already or at least somewhat close. Then, these things that ruled her out of my kind of woman were stuffs I didn't know how she'd feel about them. It took me some time before I could tell her but I eventually did. This guy may not have had the courage to tell her (if that was the case), but also, I understand what you mean exactly.

Looking at it closely, don't you think the guy could have slept with her if all he wanted to leave her for another girl in that process? He doesn't sound like a user to me or he'd have slept with her and made her feel worse than she already does now. What I see here is she has looked forward too much for the relationship to happen and now she's disappointed it's didn't work out; she likes him, that's for sure, but the guy doesn't sound ready to me and he's honest about it. There are issues laying somewhere around there and that's where his decision had revolved around. I agree too that he may have led her on but unintentionally is what I choose to go with.
Seeker, if I turned out to be right, would you say that my senses were correct, or would you still say that I was being feminist. .
LOL!! Your senses have always been correct, but I disagree that you're right on this one grin

There's no denying that these companies are making money off the Nigerian populace, but with the help of the government. In some countries, Nigeria inclusive, companies follow the doctrines of the leaders of these countries. The way the leaders treat the citizens is the same way the companies will treat them. I am sure there are more companies than these communication companies in Nigeria but I agree they are more populous because of the wide coverage of their services to the entire citizenry regardless of class, age, or whatever criteria you choose to use as a yardstick. I often wonder what they are giving to the country but I don't see any.

Let me not digress from the topic; now, what are the functions of the financial houses, investment companies, and banks? I can't see any. There's no loan whatsoever for students from financially poor family background. I wonder many times how a bank manager will look down on you when you go asking for a loan for studying yet, they keep approving loans for these hell-bound senators. I was reading a report online and guess what, some senators have taken loans from companies at tunes of billions of Naira per senator involved. A female senator specifically took a loan of =N=799million from a company and another was granted a loan of =N=4 billion at another company and many more like that. Tell me why can't these companies give the loans to students so they can study? Of course the question would be how they will get the money back but I can tell you that's as easy as it could get. They can monitor their progress, when they graduate, where they work, and subsequently take some percentage off their monthly pay package and if they have to, take some interests too. That I can assure you, is achievable.

What then can we say about companies who don't give out scholarships but dole out millions of Naira in the name of promos, raffles and competition? Look at Big Brother Africa show and see how much they have managed to squander on that show - that demonstrates to you how retarded and how backward-thinking Africa has come to be. We can decipher from a lot of factors that Nigeria needs what's more than re-branding. We need a complete and absolute overhaul. Why can't these companies give scholarships to bright students? It's demeaning and embarrassing to not only students, but the general Nigeria public.

I can tell you there are brilliant students who aren't in tertiary institutions yet but mostly because their parents can't afford the average university education, while a large number of them are victims of the persecutions of examination bodies. The problem, if looked into critically and much closely, isn't ASUU. It's from the blueprint and that has to be checked or the damages will affect the tertiary education itself.

@OP, I don't see anything wrong with what she asked. I think it should be a pleasure that she asked you for such favor and it's not all that bad because you could offer her such without her requesting for it.

For all those who are saying a guy has assumed responsibility the day he asked a girl to be his girlfriend, you're totally wrong. I don't think she's his responsibility, however, as a matter of personal option, you can choose to help your girlfriend financially if you can afford it. If it stands the way you've portrayed, then a guy who has no money doesn't stand a chance to have a relationship then

Either way he don't want to be with her, so hes lying to her really by saying he is not ready.  What he should say is we are not right for each other and we need to move on.  Eliminates her waiting around for him if she really loves him.
I just made a speculation that it may be the reason for him stepping aside but that may not be what exactly transpired. How do you know for sure he doesn't want to be with her? I think it's too early to start judging his decision because it seems to me like it's what everyone is doing about this issue.

It's not all the time that a man is ready for a relationship and a man's readiness for a relationship depends on the kind of woman he's getting down with. For instance, if I want to get into a relationship with a girl and she's having emotional trauma as at then, do you expect me to be ready if I don't have the patience to handle her outbursts as a result of her trauma? Of course I won't be ready because I won't be patient enough to handle her, and I don't want to look like a bad man. Do you know if she's demonstrated acts that made him think he needs to work on some of his traits and behaviors? It's prejudice to say the guy was never interested in her or whatnot because if he does get with her, we'll be the first to criticize him that he started a relationship he wasn't ready for bla bla bla

He's not being honest, humans are selfish, no human would let another go, unless they didn't 'want' them.
Sorry, you're too good for that anyway, surely someone else will not play games.
Another girl probably gave in quicker, and he's probably dating someone else right now, or he's simply realised that he doesn't want to date anyone right now. Somehow the relationship has led him where he doesn't want to be.
I think it's good that he at least ended it now.

Yumi's right, men only say things like 'working on themselves' when they don't want the relationship, since rarely do they call up to tell you, "I've figured myself out, I'm ready for a relationship with you." XP.

After all no one wants to seem like a nutcase, but they're always making themselves seem complicated, mysterious and deep.

Disclaimer: Unfortunately when he comes back, he might disguise himself as wanting to just be friends again, and to be honest, he probably won't display any of the signs they show women in Hollywood movies. He probably won't beg for you back, or do a big romantic gesture, he would probably do it slyly, slowly working his way through friendship and back into your current thoughts and then at the end of it all, he might just leave again (when things get too serious).

Might might might!!
I disagree with you and your response seem likely feminist (sorry if I misconstrued your opinion). The poster is saying, if I understand what she meant at all, that she has been in constant communication with this guy but she didn't state at any point that they were BOTH hoping to have a relationship. She probably may have had the idea at the back of her mind, or at least hope they'd come there but I'm not sure it was ever their discussion because if it was he'd never have left at that point; he would have made it clear to her that he wasn't ready, so it was all her idea and illusion.

I can see where the guy is coming from. He knew they were going to end up in a relationship and he was honest enough to let her know before they ever got started. What's wrong with that? I don't see anything wrong here. OK, let's have the assumption that he had it in mind to start a relationship with her, does it occur to you he must have studied her and feel she isn't the kind of woman he wants? And he doesn't want to hurt her feelings by telling her what's exactly wrong because some of the factors that rules her out as his kind of woman may be embarrassing, mean or hurtful. You can look at it from that point as well.

I don't see him as selfish. I know a lot of people will think he was leading her on but all they ever had together was just friendship with no intent of having a relationship. He finds out exactly that they can't make it together being in a relationship and he caromed.

On another note, he may have found out he can't meet up with her requirements hence, the need for him to work on his personality and be a better man and at the same time not wanting to ruin the personality he had already created. If you ask me, I'll tell you he did the best thing. Isn't it norm that you know more about someone before you fall in a relationship with them? He did, found out it couldn't work and did the best thing by telling her. It's as simple as that and I don't see any selfishness there.
