The same way Yoruba parents won't allow their daughters to marry Igbo guys. You'll be surprised when Yoruba parents will tell their daughters they can't let them marry from another tribe - especially Igbo - because it's far from where they are from (as if it's their right to visit frequently). They have this foolish belief also that Igbo men use their wives for money rituals -- how retarded can anyone ever get?! This is why I say too much of nollywood is bad for some people. Even the supposed 'educated' folks still think some of the excerpts of nollywood films are true; mostly parts where a widow is subjected to certain traditional practices and the ones where a widow is entangled with an obnoxious family set up (they already hate her which comes down to tribalism). Some of these folks still believe the practices are true and hold firm in all Igbo families and tribe in diaspora. Igbo parents have reasons. One is the natural hatred they have for Awolowo which extended to the whole tribe entirely. Some Igbos know their family don't like Yorubas but they don't know the reason. Another reason is that Yoruba men are very very prone to polygamy. I share this belief in its entirety. Polygamy is nothing any parents want their daughters to deal with and this is predominant among Yoruba men. |
I downloaded Kaspersky Internet Security Lab and installed it on my computer but it doesn't seem to be working. It's not opening the interface and when I tried to right-click on the areas I want scanned, it showed it but was blank and non-click-able. I have two setups for it, one is 61.7MB and the other is 63.4MB. When that didn't work, I downloaded two Kaspersky antivirus (both 2010), installed them on different occasions, and the same thing happened. Do you know what may have happened and what is the correct size of the setup? |
Poster, what you're trying to say is that we Nigerians abroad should pay our taxes, right? Yes, I definitely pay my taxes as at when due. But paying tax to Nigerian government is like paying for a trip to hell fire when you can actually go to hell for free. |
bawomolo:The wife and the children, yes. What's up with their father? Is he seeing better days too ? Or is he seeing Danger!! 500 meters ahead?! ![]() |
Let them kidnap those people looting public treasury and they should ask for ransom that are so exorbitant, which they have to come up with within a stipulated time, if they fail to comply within the said time, death should be imminent and eventually passed on the victim (as long as he/she is one of those looters); when this is done, they will open their eyes to the problem facing the Nigerian society. I have come to understand that no amount of dialogue or public talks will quell the wreck they are putting this country through, and this leads me to say drastic situations calls for drastic measures, albeit, I don't condone kidnap as an act. |
Were those children suffering from some kind of disease? |
Even when he was still NLC president, do we know what went behind those closed doors? Do we know how much he was offered in bribe to call back workers to their duties? We don't know what's going on in the background. To me, I always have the belief that the set of leaders we have now have an ulterior motive to everything to do. He has been a woeful disappointment since he assumed that office, and I won't be surprised if he's on EFCC's list of corrupt governors. |
Na today?!! |
Yes, it's a fine innovation for Nigerian girls to start asking UK guys to send them credit ![]() |
You're so right poster. I remember I asked on one thread if someone was hacking through his account. |
Rosabelle:If they stopped him, won't we be back here crying that they disgraced an African president? The truth is Gadaffi was the fool who didn't see reasons with being honorable and protocol-abiding. He took his arrogance off the shores of Africa to the UN Assembly. |
tunde300us:You need to format your computer and install fresh windows. I'd have advised that you reload it but it wouldn't work anyway. On an easier mode, try installing a lower version of yahoo messenger -- yahoo messenger v6 and see if it does the same thing; and if that is the case with that version, you need to format and install fresh windows.
@theseeker you can try kasperskey.
I have bought the 2010 Suite. I think it's cool though, a lot better than the former ones I used to know. lightwalk:Thanks a lot man. I have formatted the hard drive, partitioned it and installed different windows on both partitions. It hasn't crashed since then, and I have just installed Kaperskey. McAfee must have had some new problems, unfortunately, I didn't find out until very lately and this has been going on for almost a year now. Lost about 2 laptops in the process ![]() |
With that wowo face?!! I must go and join Nollywood. |
Tafa Balogun is after me too ![]() |
I don't know who expects EFCC to function when all parts of the whole governmental system has gone dilapidated. |
i watched Qaddafi speech yesterday, he was just ranting, he was given 15 minutes to speak, and he used over 90 minutes, Africans? did i hear that.? lol. Our president would have done just much worse!
Just look at that wrecked, tattered and dying creature messing up. They should have sent some security there to pull him off the rostrum. |
What he's doing there is simple: Getting Arab Money! ![]() |
justwise:. . . and there won't be need for those shakara again. Pay no mind to them acting like oyinbos because they've been able to procure perhaps a British passport at the most, and that to some of them is some real shit, or some of them have some high-placed friends, all of a sudden Nigerian men are so local to them. Maybe they should consider dating some Jamos ![]() |
justwise:Don't mind them Asians, they always behave as if they are superior to every other race. And that was a beautiful advice right there for the young man; and yes, most Nigerian girls in UK are alway 'forming' |
^^^ German007, that was a very intelligent response. Exactly what I was going to say. |
Live every moment as it comes. Don't bother yourself about what view they have about black people or whatnot. Just go on and do what you gotta do and don't act like you care about the race --- but seriously, do you care about their heritage? |
^^^ Who told you my name is Henry? |
INAH JOSEP:Will you shut that trap up before I hit your thick head hard with some truth-call. And don't ever start what you can't finish. |
Doctor Spikey, you're requested by the court to release the latest update about citizen 190's state of health. We know you've been doing the best we all expected and seriously we've noticed changes but then he's been acting up lately; this is why we want to know what your latest discovery is. |
When things like this happen, it shouldn't come as a surprise anymore because we've heard the weirdest thing happened before as well as we've seen a lot more. |
Kunbee:Your sister didn't want me publicizing her, so I decided to put it pathy. |
Your story would have exactly accord your personality some credibility unfortunately your story seems to be 'perfect' and movie-like, however, it lacks good English language setup. Your tenses aren't well articulated, your punctuations are out of line, your description is vague, you're not expository enough. Your overall story writeup doesn't show - not in an iota - that you ever stepped God's Own Country soil. Sorry, I'm not buying into your stock. |
Good morning, Your Honor, Good morning, my colleague, Hon. Tubabie, Good morning, Clerk Plat |
Sorry I wasn't specific earlier. I have been noticing for a while that all my laptops, after I have installed windows XP, will work after it's been rebooted. But upon installation of McAfee, the computer crashes and a subsequent blue-screen depicting 'dumping physical memory' is shown. I figured it might have to do with the program, so I removed the anti-virus from one of the laptops and I found out it's taking a little longer before the error screen shows than how long it took before it was shown before. I went to the program files and removed all its folders but up till now, it hasn't shown the error screen. So I'm thinking if anyone has had similar experience. However, which of these anti-virus programs would you recommend for windows xp: Kapersky, Avast, McAfee and Norton. |
Don't wait on anyone's approval. Your brothers -- and I'm sorry to say this -- are just stark illiterates. This is an advanced world where people no longer look at cultures before they make decision on who they want to marry. Just look at what they said, that igbo men kill their wives, doesn't that sound retarded from boundlessly retarded siblings? I thought it was merely that they want nothing good for you but now I see it's just profound ignorance. Well, since you're the learned one, I think you know a lot better. You know within you if this man is meant for you or not, you know what you want and how much you want it. If you leave your man because of some suggestions and senseless observations from some siblings, it's you who will suffer the stigma in the future, but if you choose to go on, you have nothing to lose. Go on with what you have to do and forget about them. If they want to come for the wedding, it's up to them, by the way, they never cared about you from the go, so who the heck cares if they don't now. |
Does anyone have an experience with McAfee anti-virus program? Lately I noticed it's been crashing my hard drive. Does anyone here have similar experience? |
