EtinosaDLaw:Can you at least focus on the fact that one of Nigeria's footballing icons is getting well deserved recognition from one of the greatest strikers in world football? Something that is really rare these days. The news wasnt about Taribo's political choices. |
MamBi:I get what you are saying and am well aware. Afterall we all read the story of how the blind men had different descriptions of the elephant based on the body part they touched in Mastering English. In most cases where perspectives differ on the same subject, most people would describe it as their version, opinion, story or view. My comment was more to address the recent wave of packaging outright lies as "my truth" for PR stunts especially by Gen Zs. It also connotes a subtle cultural shift towards resistance to feedback or positive change and promotes the concept of accept me the way I am - good or bad. Abeg my English is getting too much. Hope you sha grab ![]() |
VULCAN:Lol you re right. I know her antecedents but just concerned about unwary peeps she'd influence with her misguided comments. |
Geezeem:Was just corrected that her other moniker is Yale9 and not Lindiway. But as you said the rules aren't difficult and are even flexible enough to allow a decent level of trolling and vawulence. Hers is just downright annoying even to her fellow stans. |
Amya:My bad in that case. But then they are birds of a feather else why's Lindi forming advocate for the troll. |
Dannyxy:Its interesting and quite frankly refreshing to see a staunch Icon and a Conc. Elite team up together this season. But is there anything you've seen said against Bryann that you've not seen worse done against Laycon especially by some of your new found friends? |
MamBi:I dont know but whenever I see that phrase "his truth, my truth or her truth" it seems to mean more like his or her lies. I interpret it as an image laundering term coined by peeps who are unable to handle criticism. There should be only one truth - the truth. Note that this is my personal opinion and not my truth ![]() |
Geezeem:Yes, which is why he's using this Lindiway moniker to beg for a return of his Jekyll version from Kuje. |
nazablossom:Isn't that downChelsea's alternate moniker you are responding to? I recall someone making that connection during last season after the same moniker was banned. |
Dannyxy:Lol sorry to cut in but all what you put up there isnt why Bryann has a large followership. If it was by entertainment value he wouldnt even make top ten HMs with the most content this season, let's be honest. Bryann is the most bandwagonned housemate this season. By bandwagon, I mean he already secured a significant majority of his current fans within the first 1-3 days of the show. From the comments I saw then, it was mostly because he looked like Rema, cute baby boy and is also a musician. If anything I think he might have even lost a few of those early fans based on his subsequent puerile behaviour. |
Hezzyluv:Why would we be bothered about what Antony said? It's true that Pendu is a giant of the game. He is one of the 7 greatest players in football history and has rightly earned the tag of a football giant. It's just that he has an imagined rival who's better and greater than he is. Note that the same Antony during an interview before joining Man Utd said that Messi was the better of the two, which is why he just called CR a giant and not the best. Smart guy. |
Kobojunkie:Your comments are always out of touch with reality. Who told you it is very common for Nigerian male students to make persistent advances to their female supervisors? That you are a feminist should not automatically render your comments asinine. We have sensible feminists on this forum but sadly you dont appear to be one of them. Making insinuations confidently based on inaccuracies is a sign of unintelligence. |
Sweetpink:Ok. But you too should stop trolling Kunle cos you are fond of that. I like them both (Ade more) but will not troll Hermes just because others are bashing Ade. I dont troll who I like no matter what. If you like Ade as you've said before, you wouldn't troll him. |
Lightway: lol how did you know?? I was too distracted to make first class. My strong 2:1 didnt turn out too bad sha. |
To be candid I already predicted that Hermes had the best chance of the HOH win among the four finalists simply because of the way Biggie arranged him as the last person to fish. The probability of him picking the HOH fish is higher than the previous three since he would have the lowest number of fish to pick from. Chomzy's probability is her number of fish caught /24 and while Hermes is his number of catch/24 minus Chomzy, Elo and Chichi's catches. Pure mathematics. To create a level playing field, Biggie was supposed to ask Chomzy, Elo and Chichi to return their catches into the canoe after their unsuccessful stints. Congrats to Hermes though. |
kowema:Hermes just used same style. Now he got HOH! |
This Chomzy na cheat code |
Kobojunkie:Now that the OP is the one in custody of the kids, I didnt see you advise him to collect child support from his baby mama like he was doing for her previously. Afterall this is 2022 where there are no gender roles in family as you've implied. Or should he be the only one to bear the cost of raising the kids as you pushed for her?? The feminist stench of your hypocrisy would make a LAWMA truck smell nice. |
henrimoto:Yes o. Abi na. He is the rejected sacrifice. |
Dannyxy:In addition to the tasks, Amaka's eviction has also made the HMs conservative. It's not a coincidence that the show is getting boring lately. Adekunle was gingered to provide vawulence this week. Baba don mellow down now. |
jpmoriarti:9.4 (pardon the pettiness )Brought in: Lewandowski Dembele (We re-signed a reborn version) Raphina Kessie Kounde Christensen Not forgetting: Alonso Bellerin We have tremendously strengthened our attack and defence while consolidating our midfield with some steel and energy. We re in for a ride with Xavi at the helm. |
If football greatness were to be solely based on stats, then Cesc Fabregas will be better than Iniesta. Lampard and De Bruyne will be better than Zidane. Even Bruno Fernandez will rank higher than Scholes. So many factors you did not consider. Serie A of the 90s was the toughest league in the world and produced the most Ballon dor winners from Van basten to Roberto Baggio to George weah to R9 to Zidane. 70% of world best award winners in the 90s were from Serie A. Serie A of now is where EPL failures like Lukaku and Sanchez win Serie A player of the season. Where none of the teams can barely make it to UCL quarter finals. Huge difference. Clubs Reject 7 might have had the greater career than Ronaldo de lima in terms of longevity at the top and overall trophy cabinet. However, when you talk of who was better at their prime, who defenders would absolutely hate to face between the two, then it's hands down R9 the phenomenon. He was more skillful, pacier, more electric and at his prime, as good a goalscorer as CR was. So in summary, Ronaldo was a better player than Cristiano. |
Eeghe:I tell you. I already noticed a drop in BBN engagements even on Nairaland as at this morning. I suspect same has happened on other SM platforms. Biggie is toying with the self-destruct button with Amaka's eviction. It was an overkill. |
Dannyxy:Lol okay. Just that for me personally it's difficult to publicly shame someone I like regardless of attacks from others. I try to align what I feel with my comments. I recently became an Ade stan after he reset himself from the Allyson split. But I also admire Hermes for his drive, competitiveness and friendliness. No amount of dragging of Ade by a Tatiana for example can make me go ballistic over Hermes. I will just simply defend Ade. Different strokes for different folks I guess. |
Kelvinnchucks:Brother, you are vawulent! That right up there is one of the most savage comments I've ever seen in Nairaland bbn history ![]() Bryann isnt that dumb though. |
Dannyxy:Dannyman but you used to like Adekunle small na. You even promised to vote him anytime Bryann isnt up. Why you con dey drag am like a hater when you've actually got some soft spot for him. Or am I mistaken? |
OJEEMAH:Funny thing is he's not thinking of the possible damage to his legacy if things dont go as planned. Assuming Napoli dont qualify for UCL this season or exits at group stages to join Europa. If Man u then goes on to qualify for UCL by season end, his return to Man U would be ridiculed as he would be seen as a mercenary who abandoned his teammates and came back to reap where he didnt sow. |
Jokerman:Which fake news? Oya take sources. And Napoli will only consider Ronaldo if they are able to sell off Osimhen who is valued at over 100million pounds.
|
Shugargal:The thread doesnt even make sense. Is PSG the first elite club to draw a match where their best players did not score? All big clubs have drawn matches every season where their top players don't score, including Madrid and CR in his prime. So this thread is a case of depressed Pendu fans grasping at straws in a bid to score any kind of point but further showcasing their loss of sense. |
Jokerman:Tactical reasons. At least he had 87minutes unlike a finished old fraud that was introduced at the same 87minutes just to have some "here n1gga, damn let me rest" minutes. Bro talk true, are you not even ashamed to be nitpicking on the GOAT with a 7.2 performance rating when your little asun is being heavily disgraced by himself and the team. I mean, your man cannot even make top 13 (not even top 11) in an average Man utd team, a man with zero goal contributions this season, Common! And I hear Mendes has again hawked him to Chelsea yesterday and was soundly rejected for the second time. No shame at all. Yet you dey carry mouth still come near high performing GOAT. Jokerman please you need some time off to absorb the predicament of your fave's situation perhaps you could help him out with some career advice ![]() |
Obembet, divide Messi's "struggled" performance yesterday by four, Ronaldo's disastrous performance this season would not still match any one of it. Your finished Pendu that has overstruggled since preseason has escaped your hypocritical scrutiny Mbappe that could not score a six yard open goal created from Messi's shot did not struggle, it's Messi that played from midfield dribbling and creating chances and even sent a 25 yard shot crashing against the post that struggled. Messi alone this season already has 4 goals and 3 assists despite a withdrawn attacking role behind Neymar and Mbappe. He is obviously one of the best performers in Europe this season and the main reason why Argentina's world cup tickets are currently the fastest selling in Qatar. |
