Kobojunkie: I don't need help with research. What i instead need are answers to the questions I asked you of your claim. Those screenshots you keep posting are meaningless to this conversation since they don't answer your claims nor my questions to you.
1.a Where in the OT does God inform you that the sinners and the righteous will have their end in sheol?
1.b. Where in scripture does God or Jesus Chhrst inform you that the unrighteousness and righteous end in Hades?
2. Jesus Christ went to Hell? Where is this recorded please?
Where is it recorded that Jonah, David and Job each went to Hell? Ehiiii, u are something else oh (I actually wanted to say terrible). God will send another to help u. I have given up on you. You requested to see where hades is I showed u. U then shifted the post again to take me back to points I have exhaustively answered. Haven't I showed you were Jesus, Job, Jonah and David were said to go to hell? You are not a sincere fellow obviously. You seems to just enjoy argument. May God help u |

1. You claimed that the Hebrew script had Sheol indicated and I asked you where and you point to Job 30 but that verse does not include a mention of the word Sheol in the Hebrew script.
2. The word Hades is also not included the verse in the Greek script of Acts 2 which you pointed out. I am helping u research like ur life matters to me. Now please answer, have u seen hades in some of the translations I have screenshot here? Be courageous, courteous and sincere now

LilBlaze24o: I'd checked the scripture, still didn't answer the questions raised...
Matthew 25:46 And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.
This place mentioned everlasting punishment for those who were judged as being goat, while everlasting life for those judged as been sheep, but said nothing about those being goat being thrown into a fiery Hell.
Well the bible provides a simple answer to the main question here.....
What is the punishment of Sin? Romans 6:23 For the wages sin pays is death, but the gift God gives is everlasting life by Christ Jesus our Lord.
Answer: DEATH.
Not a fiery hell.... Or some imaginary hellfire controlled by some imaginary beings with throngs and forks.
Hope you get my point.... God bless u lil |

Kobojunkie: You have it mixed up actually....
1. Death as punishment for sin , only applies to those who are of this world, beginning in Genesis 3 vs 19 - 22, God's judgment on Adam and Eve, our progenitors.
2. For those who are of the Kingdom of God(not of this world) and have eternal life to boot, the punishment is Eternal damnation- punishment lasting, not 2 minutes or 10 days but eternity. And this is as stipulated by Jesus Christ, the one who is God's Law and King in the Kingdom of God - Matthew 25 vs 31 - 46 & John 5 vs 19 - 29 & Matthew 25 vs 1 - 13 I hope at this stage u have seen my response to ur other comment. Here however, I don't understand your division between "those who are of this world" and "those who are of the kingdom of God". Matthew that you have quoted is an illustration or parable. To illustrate two states for the righteous and unrighteous. Just as sheep and goats are not the one being judged so the fire is also a symbol for the eternal cutting off (death without resurrection. The second death/ the real death) that the wicked is going to be judged with. This real death or second death is likened to Gehena (translated as hellfire [not hell but hellfire] in KJV). This Gehena was a real place outside the walls of Jerusalem in Jesus days. It was there they threw the bodies of criminals and bad people. They always threw sulphur in the big pit and worms are always on the decomposing bodies. Jesus do use this Gehena or hellfire, to symbolize total cutting off. To symbolize permanent death and destruction. The fire is eternal because sulphur was always added. This Gehena/ hellfire or second death/real death is the destiny of the wicked. The problem again here in some ways is the not so perfect translations we have. It takes research and studies to understand the root words of some translated words, the background and context around a story. This research and studies are always worth the while as it has to do about ones spiritual health and direction and eternal destiny. |

3. The condemnation of Sin aka Death is as defined in Genesis 3 vs 19 - 22. Thank you for your reaction. I sense its burne out of a sense of duty to God. However, I will also respond to shed more light on what I said. I will react to all your points. I want to give a context. Know that hell (pit, place of the dead and grave) in KJV and most other translations were translated from two words; Sheol in the Hebrew scripture which is generally known as the old testament and hades in the Greek scriptures which is also know as the new testament. This sheol and hades simply means common grave or the state of being dead (please research this. It's easy to get). Where the problem comes in is the inconsistency in translation in many bible versions. KJv for example translates the same words has hell in some place, grave in others or pit. 1) number one of your point; hell (sheol, hades, common grave, state of death) is where all living are going. Check job 30:28; Revelation30:13,14. (please u might want to check different version to confirm what I have said). 2) Jesus went to hell (common grave/ state of the dead) for three days but "he wasn't kept in hell" because God resurrected him. Acts 2:31,32. David knew that like all humans he was going to hell/ common grave, but he had confidence that God will not leave him there forever. He is still in hell/common grave/ state of the dead till now. But we have hope that God will resurrect him and many many others in the near future. Psalm 16:10. He by this expression also prophesied what will happen to Jesus. Act 2:29-32. 13:35-37. Job too was aware that he will also in time be in hell. He expressed hope in resurrection that's why he pleaded that God remember him when the time comes. Job 14:13. Jonah was in the belly of a fish for 3days. He likened that state to hell-to being in the common grave. It was like he died. He however, cried out to God and God brought him out. Thus in a way giving an example of what will happen to christ in the future. Jonah 2:2. *Please again, try to make research and compare many translations and see how they interchangeably translates grave has hell, pit, or state of the dead. I assure u, u will see that hell as we have it in many bible version has been translated from these two words-sheol in the old testament and hades in the new testament. Now 3), From Genesis 3:19-22, that you quoted, you will see that from the beginning, the stated original penalty for sin is death (in hell). This is consistent with the whole bible. Remember the other bible verses in new testament that says the wages of sin is death and all souls that sinneth shall die. We are all dying and going to hell (sheol or hades), because of the original sin. Don't let this new understanding shock u, in as much as it doesn't obviously agree with the belief u have long held, but rather let it spur u to further study and research. Remember I told you, lies is now pervasive, it's more even in churches. It's a fulfillment of prophecies about our time. Search the scriptures because your eternal life depends on it. |

jesusjnr2020: Why There Are No Aborted Or Dead Babies In Hell
The closest any human being could get to physically meeting God or seeing His ways and how things were done in His Kingdom which is in heaven, here on Earth, is through meeting and observing the ways of little children. Hence Jesus used them as examples for His disciples to emulate, saying, "Of such is the kingdom of heaven". Mark 10:14
So if little children are the ones that remind God of heaven most when He looks down at the Earth, why would He want to send them to hell?
The souls in hell are workers of iniquity, hence little children of whom Jesus said, "of such is the kingdom of God", including the unborn who have never worked iniquity, could not possibly be in hell. Matthew 13:41-41; Revelation 21:8
The woman who said she saw aborted babies in the following thread, https://www.nairaland.com/6868933/kathy-mcdaniel-misfit-hell-heaven, never spoke of their souls but exposed how those of devil kill/abort them, and how they dump their dead bodies. But of course the agents of the devil would want to misinterpret that to mislead humans and to blaspheme the name of God.
But the devil is a liar and was a murderer since the beginning. John 8:44
He's the thief who never comes to any man except to steal, kill and destroy his life just like he did to man in the beginning, so it would be foolish to fall for his lies. John 10:10
A word is enough for the wise. I sense cowardice in your write up. You are careful not to dismiss that woman, then u found a way to say she was only talking about body not soul. Where in the bible do u see body surviving and going to somewhere other than this earth? Me I am not a coward. Because I understand the bible, I have long dismissed that woman and her revelation. Its either she is lying or her brain just brought up things during that her comma. The bible is enough for me. Any Revelation or dream that tries to bring up something that's out of the bible, I dismiss it readily as not coming from God. The spirit of deception as gone out from satan and its everywhere now according to Revelations. Sound knowledge of the bible is needed not to be swept away |

So keep your lies to yourself. Again, go and study the bible really. See that hell was translated from sheol/hades and know this words mean common grave and had nothing to do with fire. Righteous men in the bible were said to go to hell; Jonah, Daivid, Job and Jesus christ. They went there because they died. Jesus spent 3days there. Every one is going to hell (common grave). The wages of sin is death. Study the bible truly for ur sanity and salvation. Alot of lieeeeeees is in christendom now. |

So if you like believe it oh, if you like don't believe it oh, the truth remains that if you don't repent, you would believe it by force when you end up there, only that by then it would be too late to repent.

Christianity Etc › Re: Why Do Christians Worship On Sundays? by thinkmoney(m): 3:00pm On Nov 28, 2021 |
swhiss: After God brought His people out of Egypt and through the Red Sea, the Sabbath day took on even more significance as a covenant sign that God sanctified His people (Ex. 31:13). On that day, the saints celebrated the reality that God had created them and that their rest was rooted in His rest: "For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day" (Ex. 20:8-11). As well, the Sabbath signified that God had redeemed His people (Deut. 5:12-15). Finally, the annual Day of Atonement fell on a Sabbath (Lev. 16:30-31), so the Sabbath also celebrated God's forgiveness of His people.
Under the old covenant with Israel (Ex. 19; Heb. 8:6, 7, 13), the Sabbath day was extremely strict. Not only was no work to be done by the Israelites and their children, they also were to give rest to all in their households—servants, livestock, even sojourners (Ex. 20:10). God even gave regulatory laws over what could and could not be done. For example, if one even went out to gather sticks on the Sabbath in order to kindle a fire (Num. 15:32-36; Ex. 35:1-3), he was to be put to death (Ex. 31:14-15; 35:2). All this strictness was a part of the tutelage of the law, which was meant to lead Israel by the hand to Jesus Christ (Gal. 3:24), who is the final sacrifice ending the old covenant (Heb. 7:11-12, 18-19; 8:7, 13).
When Jesus rose from the dead on the first day of the week, things changed. Christ, the second Adam, "finished" (John 19:30) the work that the first Adam failed to do (Rom. 5:12-19). Because of that pivotal event, the church determined that for Christians under the new covenant, the day of worship and celebration of the Lord's grace in Jesus Christ was to be the first day of the week, Sunday: "From the beginning of the world to the resurrection of Christ, [the Sabbath] was the last day of the week; and, from the resurrection of Christ, was changed into the first day of the week, which, in Scripture, is called the Lord's day, and is to be continued to the end of the world, as the Christian Sabbath" (WCF, 21:7). On this day, we are reminded of and participate in the glorious reality that we have already entered God's rest (Matt. 11:28; Heb. 4:10) and that we await the experience of the fullness of this rest in eternity in the new heavens and new earth (Rev. 21-22). We now assemble corporately for worship and enjoy a foretaste of our eternal rest, then go out into the kingdom of this world to work for six days.
So why do we worship on Sunday and not Saturday?
•The first day of the week was the day on which our Lord rose from the dead (John 20:1; cf. Ps. 118:24).
•The first day of the week is called "the Lord's day" (Rev. 1:10; cf. 1 Cor. 16:2). The first day was the day on which the Holy Spirit was poured out on the church (Acts 2:1-36).
•Just as on the first day of creation God made light and separated it from the darkness, we gather on the first day of the week to celebrate the light of the gospel in Jesus Christ, who has separated us from the world of the darkness of sin (John 1:5, 9; 3:19; 8:12; 2 Cor. 4:1-6). Sometimes I feel like laying curses on people when I see how lazy people are at researching things that have effect even on them. People just guzzle down things. I said this because of the likes and share I see under your comment. I have however spent time studying and researching. I will start from your last bible verse, 1Corinthians 4:6. This discouraged adding to the instructions in the bible. You referenced some bible portions that are correct, like Jesus rising on the first day of the week, but u referenced a whole lot others that have nothing to do with the first day of the week, which might be misleading. Examples; the holy spirit wasn't said to have come on the first day. 2, it is misleading and totally heretical to say sunday is what was referred to as the lords day at Revelation 1:10. The lords day is the lasts day and the day of judgement really. The rest of Revelation and other related bible passages explains this. Why Christians do not make it mandatory to worship on saturdays is because many of the old testament laws that make worship rigid and seems mechanical has been done away with. We don't for example do ablation again or kill animals in worship. The early Christians in act worship on the first day probably because it was the convenient day. Infact their are indications that they meet atleast twice in a week. But the bible tells us not to make any physical act of worship a do or die affair. The bible enjoins us in romans 14:5, not to rate any day above the other. That's is why Christians in arab world can choose to worship on fridays because Saturdays and sundays are working days and yet their worship is very much acceptable. Christians can choose to worship under a tree even. Please dear. We should not try to fabricate things or invent things in our passionate bid to support what we think is Christian stuffs. Its dangerous, doesn't at the long run do God a service and it may even be a sin. The bible is a complete book of facts. It's enough. Don't add don't subtract. If u don't get what u want, study more or seek help like the eunuch asked Phillip for help. |

Reference: Mister, what is this you are posting. What is the over riding mission of the army to the south east. Is it not to bring peace
How will the killing of civilians bring peace or any other thing but drive them into the hands of extremists. Government is supposed to be civil, more intelligent, more circumspect, more focused and more determined to end hostilities not fuel them and should do everything including making sacrifices to bring about that peace.
This is the exact thing that has made a benign fundamentalist movement of the late 2010's into a rampaging insurgent terrorist movement costing trillions of naira and hundreds of thousands of lives close to a decade and a half now and has spawned both local and international affiliates and franchises.
All because security agents do not act intelligently but out of juvenile emotions in retaliation for loses in the course of duty. Ur take is spot on and burne out of an healthy and analytical mind. Its nevertheless one sided. In as much as as a citizen we have rights to several range of freedom, we also have responsibilities. Any sane circumspective individual would have from observation see the tendency of the present government and make more wise calculation than Kanu has. The government are in the wrong the more, but what I tried emphasising from my original reaction is that Kanu hasn't been smart (this is saying the least of his not so good sides). We that had sound mind to analyse things have been sounding warnings since the beginning. But we are tagged as saboteurs and some even threatened and killed. Nigeria government is a rabid dog however Kanu came and started trying to get its attention by whistling at the top of his voice and when the dog took notice and pursued, Kanu instead of climbing a tree or something, ran back into his large household which is the east, leaving the door open. Now the rabid dog has started biting people with reckless abandon and infecting people with rabies. These people too now have as a result of the attendant disillusion, turned on their fellow. |

hopefulLandlord: Christians and their fear fuelled hell preaching again?
Hell always sounded like a cynical marketing ploy designed to make people afraid to leave or displease the particular sect. And it seemed to really kill empathy - 'god says they burn, they burn' doesn't make me think of someone being full of love and compassion and all that.
Eternal punishment for finite transgressions always seemed abusive to me. How can someone look at the idea of a being who would condemn people to that and call it love?
Even when I was a Christian Hell was just too weird for me to accept. Infinite punishment for finite offenses is an eye for an eye on steroids. Punishing people for disobeying nit-picky rules makes God an abusive parent. One reason often given for punishment is to teach the offender not to offend again, but if punishment is eternal then how can the offender benefit from this teaching? Jesus is supposed to be into forgiveness but forgiveness shouldn't involve eternal suffering. Hell isn’t redemptive, it isn’t leading to repentance, it’s simply pain for pain’s sake.
I love this quote: “Heaven and hell seem out of proportion to me: the actions of men do not deserve so much.”
and of course I get the rationalisation of hell by Christians saying its moral accountability and saying bad people go to hell; that's nonsense and they know it!!!
If Yahweh is real and omniscient, that means he already decided that we're going to hell before he even created us. But if this omniscient deity allows for deathbed conversions, then it doesn't matter what kind of life you lead. You could be a brutal dictator who massacred tens of millions of people, yet still get into heaven if you tell Jesus you're sorry. Your victims could all go to hell for eternity if they never repented. That's how bleeped up Christian morality is.
Maybe Christians can answer a few questions for me. The Bible says that there is ONLY ONE way to get into Heaven: by accepting salvation through Jesus.
So it follows that the Christians who ran the Nazi death camps can get into heaven. But their 6 million Jewish victims must burn for all eternity in the pits of Hell. I've talked to many Christians about this and they just pretty much accept it.
My questions are:
1. How f***ed up do you have to be to believe Nazis can go to Heaven but their 6 million Jewish victims must burn? That's just sick. But Christians believe it. What the f*** is wrong with you people?
2. Why would ANYONE willingly worship a god that would act like that? Is it just a fear thing (better known as cowardice)? And
3. Even if you get into Heaven what makes you think you'll be safe with a psycho god like that running the place? What's to stop your god getting a wild hair up his ass one day and sending Christians to a place so bad it makes Hell look like an ice cream parlor? He used to like the Jews too. Or so the story claims. What makes you think you're safe? Well, your basic knowledge about God and christianity like many other (even most Christians) is warped. To start with, the bible never preached a fiery place as punishment or an heavenly bliss as reward. Many of your way of thinking is rational, and u might not know, it mirrors Gods mind too. God is not the way many Christians have pictured him. Infact, the idea of God Hell and heaven that many Christians hold today is way off what the bible teaches. If u are sincere enough, we can go on trying to smooth out things through your style- rational thinking. |
