No. Marriage is not at all necessary. I have no offence against the people who get married. It’s just my belief that I think marriage doesn’t play an important part in an individual’s life and one should not be enforced to get married against their will.

But, Yes, there are society norms which expect a woman or a man to get married once they reach a certain age. But again, if an individual feel that he/she should not get married in life then why their decision can’t be respected? Is it that hard?

According to me, marriage doesn’t bring out any sort of difference in two individuals.

Let’s say A and B are women of 30 years age. A is married and B isn’t.

1) A works hard. She looks after her family, husband, and children, also does her job, contributes to the family financially and does the entire household.

2) B is pursuing her job, does her household work, and is capable of meeting her financial needs. Instead of looking for her other half, she decided to piece herself together.

This doesn’t make me respect A more and B less. For me both are working hard and playing their roles very well. A chose to get married and B didn’t. B chose to go for the life which she wanted. Who knows that B might have gone against the society norms in order to achieve the life she wanted? Or, perhaps her family might have supported her.

It’s a matter of choice. And they both used their liberty to make their own choices.

Considering the existing norms in our society, the decision taken by B must have gone through numerous turmoils or perhaps is still going. But, she was determined and had the courage to stand by her decision.

Marriage: Society forces it down your throat until you choke on it. Do not let it happen to you if you do not want it. Don’t follow the crowd for the sake of it.

There are numerous individuals who did not choose to marry and are still happy and satisfied with their life.

One of the actresses I highly admire in Nigeria. She adopted two daughters and is blissfully single. She is a perfect example of a woman who is leading a life on her own terms like a boss.

As hard as this may sound to you,let her go.When many women get to this stage(marriageable age),the first choice is usually the one that is financially stable.

You could keep trying to draw her to your side but it's obvious she is drifting.
As the saying goes,if you love someone,set her free.If she comes back she's yours,if she doesn't,then she never was.

You honestly cannot keep her with you in your present financial state.If there is someone who can take her in,then the reasonable thing is that she goes there.

Don't count too much on that. Christ Embassy as an entity has been embroiled in too many issues regarding 'donations' and sometimes outright arm twisting.

Several years ago there was a story that made the rounds which a senior Christian Police top brass (A DIG at that time) corroborated. It revolved around donations made to abtune ofb32/34 Billion made by a staff of Sheraton Hotels, Ikeja.

The man was eventually arrested and when interrogated he revealed with evidences that he made consistent donations to Christ Embassy as a church. As a matter of fact he produced a letter of commendation presented to him in recognition of his support to the ministry.

What beat my imagination then was when the church was asked to refund the money and it is reported that Pastor Chris said he wouldn't as the money now belonged to the Almighty.

I was shocked to my marrows. To worsen it wall the church never issued a statement on that matter till this day.

A second incident was when they encroached on land belongin to a friend of mine in Ogun State and then when the owner accosted them they threatened him with fire and brimstones swearing theta the land was for God. The church assured the owner that they had the best lawyers and if course public sympathy and only offered him a pittance for the land.

As would be expected the matter went as far as the supreme court before they had some sense and begged for an out of court settlement. Your guess is as good as mine. My friend took them to the cleaners.

Such a shame.
