CelebritiesRe: Laura Ikeji: Flogging Kids In Schools In Nigeria Should Be Made Illegal by ThothHermes: 2:29pm On Aug 23, 2019
ornicus:
yes, all the wonderful beatings have made us wonderful nigerians and world class leaders , not so?

i'm sure the yahoo boys, ritual u murderers, gang rapists , thieving politicians, fulani herdsmen, armed robbers, killer policemen, sars , drug dealers etc were never flogged in their childhood.

look around you and you can see the benefits of corporal punishment everywhere
Post hoc ergo propter hoc

laura ikeji much as i loathe her, is right
No she isn't.

all most of this beating does is reinforce a mindset that violence , solves all problems
How do you figure? I was a recipient of corporal punishment and very pro-corporal punishment and I don't have this "mindset". How did you arrive at this?

and violence is the last refuge of the incompetent
undecided undecided undecided

that is why you see people , well dressed in a car accident immediately begin fighting. because that is what they have been taught by beatings
that is why youth corpers will go into an office to seize [steal] computers
People kill themselves every other day in America. You can Google the stats.
that is why frustrated parents are beating their kids to death.
More people kill their kids in the US than in Nigeria. Wanna bet?

we see them on this forum too, unable to make an argument without threats of violence and i will deal with you.
Happens on reddit and quora too. Difference is that the moderators there are more serious with their assignments.

you want to see what beatings do to a person - watch how tacha of bbn relates versus the way mike relates
that is what beating ultimately does, and we see it everywhere. we are all aggressive and violent
Quit trolling. tongue

CrimeRe: Full List Of Nigerians Indicted For $1.1B Internet Scam In The US by ThothHermes:

What is the cause of this tendency to scam among Nigerians.

If I had not known great Nigerian people, in the like of sarassin or Mizmycoli, or happypagan I would have run away from anything related to Nigeria for life.

90% of all Nigerians I later got in touch with, tried to scam me one way or the other. A few successfully did. Others failed. Most were totally dishonest.

What is the cause of this. I went from Being the greatest supporter of the Nigerian culture, to a disillusioned and disenchanted observer of the country.

Poverty can't be the only reason, as most subsaharian countries are even doing worse than Nigeria.

Thank god for the few men of integrity left in that otherwise great country. I like the Nigerian culture a lot, but I fear some of the people equally much.
I
This is saddening but unsurprising. The average Nigerian is always looking for a way to advance himself immorally. A Nigerian will defraud you at the first opportunity.
I think the answer to your question is complex. Probably deserves a thread of its own.
The problem is our values. Our value system is decrepit.
The only thing we hold dear is money. Mammon is our god. As long as you are rich you will get away with anything. Everyone wants that kind of freedom. So they become willing to do anything to get that money.
A gradual erosion of moral values is why we are at this point.
Just take a look at the things music artistes glorify in their songs. They give impressionable youths a false idea of success and they think they have to achieve that success however possible.
Worse still is that no one will question you when you finally make the money.
Nigeria is the only country I know where sudden wealth is not questioned.
Can you imagine Hushpuppi and company doing what they do in your country?

It's a complex issue really. But the summary of it is that our value system has broken down totally.

Inasmuch as people would shout 'We are poor'...here are some hard facts

1.We need to generate power above 40000MW

2.We also need to fix transmission systems

3.All these will cost trillions of naira.

4.And the way forward is by allowing DISCOS to set the price they want to set (yes, government should stop setting prcies).

Back in 2001...GSM came to Nigeria, with outrageous prices. We all complained. And the service was initailly poor. But thanks to the freedom affroded them to do their business they could raise funds to build from scratch the telephone and internet service we have today. All those GSM infrastructure you see is the result of allowing GSM companies freedom to set their prices.

If we keep on shortchanging the power sector....we will never see 24/7 light. Power companies cannot attract investment. They cannot even take loans from banks because the banks know they won't see their money....because the DISCOS aren't making enough profit to fund their operations, talkess of paying back a loan.

You are free to insult me, call me insensitive. But if I was in power and I forced you as a rice salesman or woman to sell rice at N7000 below the price you bought it....because of the masses...won't you go broke in a few years? Won't you sack your workers in a few years??

Let's stop acting like Communists. We don't have enough cash to run a Communist economy. If you want a communist economy, form a Marxist-Lenninist party, and implement your own state controlled prices...but the sad thing is that capitalism works. It hurts people, but it also benefits more people. Let's run power like a capitalist enterprise.
BS

Are the power companies currently running at a loss?
Or are you just parroting something you heard from another ignoramus like you?

I believe I have answered your questions, except the bolded. I purposefully left it aside because I wanted to make a seperate general comment on that.

You see, you have to see chakras as a holistic system, not as individual abilities enhancers. This means all chakras are related to each other and a change in one fosters a change in the whole system.

He ce, one should be careful while looking for a technique to activate a specific chakra, as that can be dangerous. The chakra can indeed be successfully activated, but is the whole System ready for that?

That's why, it is suggested to rather look for "saddhanas" and practices that will rather help one build the whole system and activate the whole chakras, one after the other in the right order. This will prevent hindrances and problems along the way.

One of such practice are the so called bija mantra series. Tell me if you need them.
We need them. grin

Thank you.
I did not get it from a single source. It is a mix of information that I have obtained from different books and online media in the past months.

Desire is from Napoleon Hill's "Think and grow rich", determination is from Quora comments I think and will has to be from Wallace Wattles.
Anyway, the point is I am trying to improve myself and circumstances.

It is saddening but true that black people tend not to read.

3 years ago I visited a black family in Northern europe of about 7 people with a good book of mine (Think Big by Ben Carson). In the Book I placed 500 euros as a gift for one of the member of the family over there.

Upon arriving there, I gave him the book but did not tell him there is a gift of money inside. I thought he would find out and that would have a better impact on him, than if I told him bluntly.

3 years later that is a few months ago, I went to visit them again. My good friend was a bit busy there, so I decided to look for something to read while waiting. I found the book in the living room, at the very same spot He had placed it before (among other books). I took the book to read it and to my utter shock, the 500 euros were still there.

Nobody in the family had ever touched the book, and thus missed the 500.

I decided to take the book and the money back with me.
If it were another poster I would have doubted this story. grin

It's a bit antediluvian to want to command respect by being physically imposing. Chances are they won't respect you no matter how big you become. How big can you even grow anyway?
Give them something to respect; your aura, your brains, project mysteriousness. Also be independent. Don't "send them message" unless it is absolutely necessary.
Nigerians worship money. I would suggest telling them to keep the change on occasion. Not always though as it could have unintended consequences.

I suspect the adults around do not regard you highly as well. The kids take their cue from them most probably.

This is the second ridiculous thread you are creating in succession.
