It could be true. Remember that Edo is not Lagos. In Lagos, you are allowed to test your popularity in a direct primary that involves all registered party members. In Edo, you are disqualified from contesting a direct primary by the same party that previously qualified you to contest the party gubernatorial primary 4yrs ago. In Lagos, the incumbent governor did not have the support of the State House of Assembly, so any attempt to defect to the opposition after losing his own party's primary, would have most likely resulted to an impeachment by the state legislature. In Edo, the State House of Assembly has only 10 Legislators who were sworn in by the embattled Governor, and are loyal to him, while the remainder majority 14 Legislators were deliberately not sworn in by the undemocratic Governor. So any attempt to defect to the opposition party after his disqualification by his own party, does not pose any risk of impeachment by the loyal state legislature. Certainly, Edo is not Lagos. |
Very easy in Nigerian politics. The saw way Tinubu and El Rufai campaigned for Buhari in 2015, regardless of what they said earlier. The same way the backbones of Jonathan campaigned for a Fulani Muslim Atiku in 2019, regardless of their previous boasts from 2011 onwards that an uncircumcised Philistine and Fulani would never rule Nigeria again. |
I thought some said that Edo is not Lagos? Indeed! Edo is not Lagos. In Lagos, the sitting Governor was allowed to contest the direct primary involving all registered party members, which he lost democratically. In Edo, the sitting Governor was disqualified by the same party that qualified him 4yrs ago, such that he would not even be contesting the APC direct primaries. Ambode will be laughing where he is, upon realizing his own situation was even better, and truly Ambode will agree that Edo is not Lagos.

The same frustrated OP made similar posts just yesterday but has failed to march down to Tinubu Square to do the needful. Or is he waiting for Government to do what protesters did in UK? |
Davash222:Wailing clansman, it will be well with your troubled soul. Take this Fulani shoulder and cry your eyes out.
|
YourbaAreSlaves:Was there an assassination on June 12, or was there a considerably free ad fair democratic election that was latter annulled, for which it is now commemorated as "Democracy Day"? Again, I love to educate the ignorant, so now that you are found in darkness and brought into the light, you do not have to thank me for it. |
YourbaAreSlaves:I repeat, was anyone assassinated on June 12? You don't need to thank me for the education you have received. |
YourbaAreSlaves:Was anyone assassinated on June 12? |
OK2NVME:I realise that your people do not have any documented history to even talk about. So I understand your agony. |
A clansman has spoken like a plebeian that he is. Your own trauma defies rehabilitation. But has anyone realised that the clannish tribe have no history? Is it that there was nothing historic or accomplished about this tribe in the 17th or 18th century? In fact, the only tale we know about any historic clansman is about Jaja of Opobo who was captured as a slave by the Ijaws. I have heard tales of Nana of Itshekiri; I have heard tales of middle ages Ozolua and the more recent ovonramwen Nogbaisi of Bini; I have heard of Princes Amina of Zazzau; I have heard of the Kanem-Bornu empire; I have heard of Sodeke, Ogedengbe and Alaafin Abiodun all from Yorubaland. I have never heard any significant tale of the irrelevant clannish tribesmen. |
MinorityOpinion:After all said and done, the coward fled his Biafran village when he sighted the Army 5miles away. |
Oshigun:The misinformation from late Biafra propaganda is worthy of a topic of its own. |
horsepower102:IPOB bureau of Statistics at its very best. Tribal speculation always exalted above factual statistics. No wonder a whole tribe is still wailing many weeks after their boasts and arrogance was flattened by facts and figures from research that was conducted in the East, but because a Yoruba man heads the agency, he must have corrupted the research to punish the emotional cry babies. |
Look at what NBS did with the recent statistics. If we had a credible media house with strong investigative journalism, we could have easily debunked it on National television. So the facts released by the NBS was so painful that even clansmen yet unborn will be regaled with tales of how national statistics traumatized an emotional and petty tribe? And what would Upper Iweka journalists have done about the NBS report? Would they have gone to Ogbete market to conduct their own sampling and title it a national report? When you are so clannish that you cannot even stand NBS reports because the head is not from your tribe, only shows why no clansmen thrives outside of his own state within the same tribal region, but easily thrive in other regions. This tribe is cursed till eternity to be clannish. |
jimyjames:Any lie to make you sleep well at night is welcome. How will you explain the road to Abidjan to your children? |
kingzizzy:What a shame for Ojukwu and his clansmen. A Yoruba fellow soldier landed on Biafran soil and Ojukwu suddenly realised that his own life was precious? What fight did Ogundipe or Obasanjo have to fight? Can you force someone to fight an assassin, rather than avoid the assassin? What does Tinubu a civilian politician have to do fighting the military government? I like how you are agonized by your legendary cowardice that you couldn't sleep well but had to awake this morning and wail. Continue shedding tears. |
jimyjames:The road to Abidjan can be very humbling for boastful clansmen. |
tutudesz:You've forgotten the zoo animal that dared the army to enter his Biafra, that they will not depart alive? When the army eventually showed up, the coward called on Igbo youths far and near to come and engage the army in suicidal battle, while he packed his own bags and fled with his parents. He was so scared that he went into hiding for over a year, only to resurface to lament about his dead dog and position himself to bargain with politicians who would be willing to pay for the support of his terrorist group. |
Very dry. An agonized clansman is ashamed of the epic and tragic cowardice of his kin, and has to find solace in mudslinging. |
18yrs and 19yrs maids defiled 17yrs and 2yrs children? Is it that the 17yrs child has Downs Syndrome or was unconscious during the sexual assault? There is more to the claims being made by the family. |
Whenever I travel abroad, I try my best to avoid Nigerians because you don't know which one is an oloriburuku amongst them. We are too inclined to crime as a people, whether resident in Nigeria or abroad. In fact, how many Nigerians abroad have not already overstayed their visa or abusing the limitations of the valid visa they hold? |
LabDNA:Like this truth? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4UIRwV6PLLw Or is it the truth of Igbo Jewish DNA result that proved negative but he claimed it was positive, unbeknownst that the Jewish group that collected the samples in Nigeria had already published their negative finding in USA and Israel? |
Big lie. Except they meant temporarily out of job due to lockdown restriction in April. |
What! Lagos has been defeated? |
If I was your primary school teacher, I will score this as 1/10. You made no effort at all besides writing. |
Racoon:You are the one with a sensational headline that does not agree with the content of the news. The AfDB as already foreclosed on any external investigation of the President, but agreed for an external review of the internal investigation already concluded. |
Ok |
jimyjames:Thanks for confirming IPOB is a trash orphan in Igboland who have no political backing? |
jimyjames:So you mean IPOB has enemies in Igboland? I thought IPOB has been enfranchised by all Igbos including the unborn, to speak on their behalf, despite already having a constitutional and democratic representation voted by the same Igbo people? The conclusion is IPOB is just a terrorist group trying to usurp power. |
Smoke55:You tried so hard but you were unable to claim the obviously Igbo dude is Afonja, so rather than address the matter, you typically ran away like a coward. Have you arrived in Abidjan? Where is Gidgiddy to come regale us with his fables of how IPOB is not a terrorist group? |
See intellectual debate without the bigotry that has now engulfed the forum. I blame the pitiable current state of the forum to the moderators and the owner who are always to slow to action, resulting in a rejoinder to bigotry that eventually escalates into an online war of daily battles. |
LegendHero:I don't think any percentage of VAT accrues to Lagos. It is an argument that has been made by Lagos State, and don't think the FG since this 4th republic has entertained such demands. |
