The police is the greatest nuisance in Nigeria.

If I were the President, I will start a new force for about a year, then scrap the existing police force.

I will give those still willing to work after the scrapping, the opportunity to plough government farms.

Akintola like the typical Yoruba of the time was a paranoid schizophrenic that was hearing voices in his head. He wanted an alliance with the North so had yet the North didn't even consider him or his party worthy enough to form an alliance? goes to show why the North didn't even consider him consequential enough to allow him sit at the table of power. For the record no Igbo man lost or is losing sleep over Akintola's paranoid-induced speech, I was only making a point of context in reply to your ignorant brother who claimed Igbos started the hate. Igbos come to your region and dominated you in all indices, your academia had more Igbo VC's in the top universities in the Western region notably among which was UI, and the ridiculous Yoruba narrative to the situation was that the Igbos didn't occupy those positions by merit, some even claim Zik played politics and installed them in those positions... cheesy so much for been better educated, talk of been dumb and daft even putting together a cognitive line of reasoning as to how and why the entire Yoruba race were sleeping when Igbos came in and somehow dusted them in nearly all indices right on their turf. Pray tell how conceivable was it to believe Zik had so much power to dictate to Awolowo and Akintola even in their own region? It's also on record that a Yoruba student (Kayode Adam's) stabbed the new Yoruba VC who replaced Professor Eni Njoku as a show of protest?

Egbon leave too much talk, we must play these hate to its logical conclusion, you started the hate and we are now replying in good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over.
Who is now crying marginalization after all the hate?

Take a look at the comment below, the bad blood is inbuilt, even their lost brothers can testify.
Have you seen the so called "Delta Igbo" talk about Igbos before?

A guy I know called Ossai from Delta openly states that they are fraudulent. I pause and look surprised because even his own first name is strong Igbo, yet he says it as though he is talking about some foreign tribe.

His anti Igbo opinions are so strong and he doesn't even care that he is expressing them in the workplace where other Igbos are.

The Ossai guy is close to 50yrs ooo, not some young misguided ignorant fellow.

Let me not even talk about my experience with the Ikwerre while I was in Port Harcourt. They bear Igbo first names but will strongly reject being associated with Igbos.

I was like, wetin Igbos do all this Igbo naming but Igbo denying tribes of the Niger Delta.

Yoruba man stop foaming in the mouth, who started the hate... Igbos? Go back to your archives of history if you even have the brain for basic research, and study the real progenitors of hate speech in Nigeria. The likes of Akintola who became infamous for his "Yoruba ronu" speech where he stirred the very hornest's nest of hate and bigotry by sensitizing his people against the Igbos on some paranoic and rather unfounded fear of "Igbo domination"... as if Igbos invaded the Western region with guns and forced their way into the top positions of academia, civil services and politics. Ahmadu Bello also shared in the same sentiments against the Igbos, the music of "Ibo domination" became an orchestra of mellifluous music to the ears of other Nigerians towards their countrymen.

As for the coup, revisionism will not deter the truth from been told. What led to the coup? why can't the Yorubas be intelligent and honest enough to admit for ONCE that if that coup didn't happen, the whole West would have been upside in anarchy and chaos, your people pioneered the first acts of political unrest and barbarity in Nigeria in the "Operation wetie" madness, killing each other and dousing political opponents with raw acid and the likes...until the boys in khaki intervened and doused the tensions. Need I also remind you, incase your proclivity for selective memory or historical amnesia doesn't allow you... that there were also men from other parts of Nigeria involved in the coup as well? I'm sure a couple of Yorubas also participated in the coup. Go and read Major Wale Ademoyaga's book on the coup titled "Why We Struck", he was one of the five majors and also... yeah you guessed right YORUBA. Go read his book and get an unbiased perspective on the coup by one of its principal actors.

As for Nnamdi Kanu, he's only a product of the hate Nigeria has long espoused as a principle against his people. And trust me there's NOTHING he has said that many ethnic supremacist before him like El rufai (a public office holder), Junaid Muhammad and even Adeyinka Grandson etc haven't said about Igbos. I guess it's an open floor for madness since nobody wants to fair and sensible anymore, so let's all get mad together.

God punish Satan, na me and una today grin grin grin
Yoruba ronu speech of Akintola is still haunting the Igbo man as it highlighted their agenda to dominate every federal position while in partnership with the uneducated North. The speech also stressed the need for the better educated Yoruba to align with the Northern led Federal Government, so as to have a voice at the table when executive decisions are being made and appointments are being shared, as opposed to the Igbo merits all agenda of Azikiwe and NCNC who were the junior partners to the Northern NPC.

Besides, how can that speech make Akintola famous he was already the Premier of the Western region?

Every Yoruba must listen to that speech and realize the greedy fellows we have always had in our midst.

When many Yorubas have forgotten about the speech, Igbos like you keep on reminding us why you killed Akintola, and also helping to reinforce why you should not be sympathized with when you are wailing about marginalization.

He who marginalized with arrogant and blatant nepotism, has now become the marginalized.

I would have told you to get over yourselves already, but I know you can't.

It is inborn.

Reminds me of the jubilation of Igbos in the North after the coup when the northern leaders were killed like chicken plus the attendant cries of "We Igbos will dominate".

What followed was a pogrom and the attendant cry, "they hate us..."

Today, no one is talking about the initial jubilation. Just the resultant massacre.

Same thing here.

Kanu has been preaching hate all over the media.

He coined names like "Fulani", "yorrober" etc to denigrate ethnicities in Nigeria.

Names that his followers happily parrot in glee.

Now, they want us to believe that the hate is unjustified.

Why must you always look for ways to paint Ndiigbo black? Why these hate? Right from Yoruba Ronu speech to today. Ndiigbo can't rest for Yorubas.

Why was Ojukwu made the Eastern region governor instead of Bassey?
It's same reason Fajuyi was made the Western region governor By Ironsi and not his senior Ogundipe.
It's about trust and crew.
Bassey was not the only one skipped to crown Ojukwu, other Igbos were too.
I thought you enjoy when historical discussions are brought up by the likes of the late Nnamdi Kanu and Radio Biafra? But you don't call it hate then?

Why are you always angry and bitter when the past is also brought up by others?

Why are you so scared of the "Yoruba Ronu" speech that highlighted your greed for power and domination, such that it has deprived you of sleep over the past few days?

Ogundipe already had a more senior role in the Supreme HQ behind Ironsi, so it was OK for Fajuyi to take the role of Western Military Governor.

So why were the other more senior officers (Both Igbo and non-Igbos) skipped in the appointment for Eastern military governor?

The trash you typed above will not elicit more than a cursory response. from me.

Awolowo's lifetime was all about fixation on the Igbos...Say something else, oga...
Awolowo spent his life living for the betterment of his region, and achieving many firsts in Africa for the Western region, without recourse to the bush men that lay by the East.

He had no domination agenda and already saw the cracks that existed in the Nigerian structure, at a time his fellow Igbo politicians with unbridled domination ambitions were blind to the chaos that would ensue and costume their tribe.

He served his nation with distinction and showed mercy to the conquered rebels from the East.

Instead, the bush men from the East were fixated on catching up with Awolowo's tribe, rather than achieving their own glory in Africa, they were satisfied to aspire to a Yoruba standard.

Pro-Chancellors/Chairmen of Council.
The University has also benefited greatly from the services of high calibre men who as Pro-Chancellors and/or Chairmen have led its Governing Council.
Between 1948 and1967, there were five Chairmen of Council:
· Professor Kenneth Mellanby CBE, Sc.D (1948-1951)
· Sir Sydney Phillipson KBE, CMG, M.A. (Manc.) (1951-1958);
· Sir Francis Akanu Ibiam CMG, MB (1958–1961)
· Dr. Okechukwu. Ikejiani, B.Sc., (New Bruns.) M.Sc. (Chic.), M.D. (Toronto), L.M.S. (Nova Scotia), Sc.D. (Lincoln) (1961-1965)
· Sir Louis Mbanefo, M.A. (Cantab), LL.D (Lond.) (1965-1967).
Thereafter, the post of Pro-Chancellor and that of Chairman of Council were syncronised by the Federal Government, presumably, for ease of administration .

You're a stark illiterate. You said it was well reported and can still be found online? Then, post it here for all of us to see and read. Also, name the other two Igbos that held the office in immediate succession before Ikejiani. I like evidence. Post it here.

To show that you're a stark illiterate and a pathological liar too, Louis Mbanefo didn't head the board that appointed Dike as the indigenous principal of the University College, Ibadan. It was Dr Akanu Ibiam. You're a liar! Besides, being a professor before another lecturer attains professorship isn't a criterion for making the former a Vice Chancellor before the latter. That shows that you're an illiterate. Rather, it's based on administrative and managerial acumen and other vital qualities. If the post of VC is based on years of professorship, so many young VCs wouldn't have occupied it ahead of the old professors, some of whom even thought those Vice Chancellors.

Also, before Dike's appointment, Akanu Ibiam visited Kenneth Mellanby the immediate outgone principal, in the UK, to seek his advice and he recommended Dike ahead of Ajose. You Yorubas like revisionist history turned upside down always, just to suit your whims and caprices.
I agree it was Akanu Ibiam not Louis Mbanefo.

Kenneth Dike himself alluded to the fact that he was told barefaced by Akanu Ibiam, that if he does not accept the position, it will not be given to any other Nigerian.

Why?

Because there was no other senior Igbo in a pool of senior qualified Nigerians where Dike himsef was not the most qualified.
