CSTR1003:Obasanjo won Nigeria debt relief. He made all the necessary travels and connections and pleas. He made it a mission of his government right from the very start of his 1st term even before there was any Okonjo Iweala in his 2nd term. Funny enough, the funds that help to pay the remainder $18b debt was already saved up within the first term of that regime. |
CarlosTheJackal:Where did she keep our money that her regime earned? What did she do with our money that previous regimes earned and saved? How did our foreign reserves nose dive in a period we earned so much petro-dollars? Why did she make withdrawals from the ECA without the authorizing FAAC approval that was never given? Is she not a criminal for doing so? Did she not deny doing so initially when rightly accused by Gov Adams Oshiomhole? Did she not later backtrack and agree she did so when Oshiomhole persisted with his accusations, but she still could not show any approval from the FAAC that is made up of the 36states of Nigeria and is the only authorizing entity before withdrawals can be made from the ECA? |
PassingShot:She found her voice only after she left power. The dumb suddenly received her healing when out of the shores of Nigeria. |
PointZerom:Look at this zombie. Why not tell the PDP regime you enslaved yourselves to for 16yrs, to reveal to faithful zombies like you what they handed over to the current regime? Or is the author of the handover note without a copy of its own report that can be considered not tampered by the current government? Why the apologies by PDP over its woeful performance that led to its sacking from government? Or has Okonjo-Iweala denied her own statements while in office, that the economy was heading to a nosedive? The same nosedive that saw her borrowing N470b to pay federal civil servant salaries from February 2015 onwards the end of that ignoble, kleptomaniac and clueless regime? My questions have been answered, that is why I know that Jonathan was a thief who was using unallocated defence funds to cater for his re-election. I know the likes of greedy Olisa Metuh and the smart ones who agreed to return their loot, would have wanted the kleptomaniac PDP to continue in power so they can continue to steal without satisfaction. I know the likes of Diezani Allison-Madueke were sucking the country dry and empowering their cronies with oil deals that was depriving the federal purse of its due revenue. While the same useless regime failed to pay up its own part of counterpart funding for joint venture oil projects, that totaled up to $5b from 2010 to 2015. I know that many like you who complain about the obvious corruption in this current regime, only do so because you are no longer part of the loot sharing formula, and not that you care about state of Nigeria. You are determined that you must return to the sharing table, rather than return to power to better Nigeria. |
lilfreezy:If the sacked regime of Jonathan that had Okonjo-Iweala as finance minister was better than the Yar'Adua regime before it, it wouldn't have been deemed a clueless regime by the electorate that ensured the sack. Our savings that was piled up by previous regimes that enjoyed limited income, would not have been squandered by a regime that enjoyed unlimited income but no aptitude for savings except to pillage what already was saved. I do not have any reason to celebrate failures. If one failure is sacked and the next employee fails to be better, then such failure is only destined for the same sack. At no time will I celebrate an already discarded failure because the current employee is also failing. |
lilfreezy:We are talking economy, yet a PDP zombie that does not know beyond partisanship is already throwing political labels about like a frustrated thief who was about to use ATM Dasuki before it gave the error "insufficient funds". |
The Nigerian economy you bankrupted in your 2nd coming with the Jonathan regime, will certainly not welcome a 3rd coming from you. What was the state of our finances and economy as at 2011 before Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala? What was the state of our finances and economy as at 2015 after Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala? These tales by Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala has helped to prove that truly, Jonathan was an ineffectual buffoon that was surrounded by beer parlour appointees who ran his presidency as they liked for their own gain without any care or shame for the consequences of their actions, knowing that the moro.n in chief will truly act like a clueless moro.n. |
Moghalu seems to have my vote for now. The trio would actually make for a good and untainted alliance that can help us do away with the old order. |
When this new oil windfall will come, I pray an ineffectual buffoon will be nowhere near the Nigerian presidency. |
CSTR1003:So Joseph Conrad is not a literary icon, because Achebe said so? What manner of delusion is this. Who are you to decide who is a literary icon in a field that had given recognitions to whom it was due before the world even knew African writers/playwrights/poets? Go to the literary world and Britain, and go tell them that Joseph Conrad was a nobody, because you are the one to decide who is who. So Achebe is the standard for who qualifies as a racist or a literary icon? You must be suffering from arrogance to think there is an Achebe standard to be passed before the world can recognize those who came before Achebe or those who have come after him. Why didn't same Achebe dream himself a Nobel prize, and awake to find one on his bed? Are you not the one who exalted the fact that Achebe's mention was in a list drafted by British Intelligentsia? Did you not use that to validate that Achebe was indeed great because he has been regarded by the British? So why the sudden feeling of superiority when you had previously betrayed an inferiority to the British? Like I already opined, you cannot use a British/European yardstick as excuse for why Achebe did not get a Nobel in his lifetime, only to use the same British/European yardstick to validate that Achebe was indeed great. Let Achebe win it, and finally catchup to Wole Soyinka. It is only just that a man who said the Igbos managed to catch up with Yorubas, should also catchup individually to his Yoruba contemporary, decades later. |
Wiseoldman:Many feel you. |
wink2015:Warri chose to kill itself. Let the dead remain dead. Warri's loss is PortHarcourt's monopoly. |
Good news for Nigeria. |
CSTR1003:Now please reread my post you just quoted and show me where I mentioned the text in bold. I repeat, who has read his plays or poetry? In what theatres around the world has his dramas been staged? Comprehension is really a problem in this part of the world. That you continue to mention story, is the reason why Achebe will be known as the story teller he limited himself to, while Soyinka will be regarded as a literary genius for which he was accorded the recognition for marking excellent to all the genres of literature. You talk about bigotry, yet your bigotry did not allow you to comprehend what you have read. At the end of it all, we will remember Achebe as a story teller - a master of fiction that he was, while we will remember Soyinka as a literary genius and Africa's first to be so distinguished. There is no greater honour in the literary world than the Nobel prize for Literature. Notable mentions are for those before the Nobel era or those who didn't quite make the cut during the Nobel era. Your excuse that Achebe was punished for terming a literary icon as propagating racist literature and so not awarded a Nobel prize, is belied by the fact that you are today celebrating a list that was put together by the same "whiteman" society that has recognized him as a story teller. Of great irony is the fact that Joseph Conrad whom you try to paint as Achebe's nemesis because of his critque, is a celebrated British writer. The same British you have exalted for recognizing Achebe's work. So choose carefully when you use a yardstick to excuse his lack of a Nobel recognition, but use same yardstick to affirm he was indeed great. The Encyclopædia Britannica (Latin for "British Encyclopaedia"See how highly regarded the Nobel prize is. The same Nobel prize Igbos have been trying to rubbish because a Yoruba man dared to be the first African to win it in Literature, while their "un-Nobel" Igbo brother and a contemporary of that Yoruba icon, continues to get notable mentions only. |
CSTR1003:Good you mentioned most read. But who has read his plays or his poetry? Which of the theatres around the world has his drama been staged? Soyinka's work spoke for him and was considered the best literary genius to come out of Africa and awarded the Nobel prize for Literature as the first ever African. Achebe's stories too have made their mark, but literature has never been about stories only. If the fans of Achebe were satisfied with his work being most read, they would not continually remind themselves of his inability to have the Nobel prize achievement of Soyinka, by feeling the need to refer to Soyinka on a thread that had no business with Wole Soyinka. |
PrecisionFx:Literature has always been known to cover: Prose, Drama, Poetry. Achebe ticks 1 box, Soyinka ticks all the boxes. That one is awarded a Nobel prize, already means you are considered the best among your peers. Or you think it is an Aba or Oluwole certificate? Do you know what it means to be the first African to attain such a feat in the field of Literature? It can never be wished away, no matter the envy. A Nobel laureate should only be compared to a fellow Nobel laureate. |
PrecisionFx:Why would a Nobel prize winner be compared with Chinua Achebe? |
I very much like what the Igbo tribe has reduced itself to in Nigeria. Just for your information you all, I worked on the Folawiyo Aje Oilfield project. The initial Aje 5 and Aje 4 wells were drilled and completed for production using ENI's Scarabeo 3 semi-submersible rig in Q3 and Q4 of 2015. There was some production issues with one of the wells that required it to be re-completed the following year. To the best of my knowledge, the FPSO has been on location and production has been ongoing for about 2years. Not all of the wells of the field fall withing state ownership, owing to the onshore-offshore dichotomy that oil producing countries operating a state unit federal structure practise, Just like in practice in the USA. 2 of the wells fall under federal ownership, while 2 of the wells fall within the state ownership due to closeness to shore. I believe Lagos state has been getting its due 13% derivation as with all other oil producing states in Nigeria. |
Ki re eee!!! |
NwaAmaikpe:First of all Kemi Adeosun is not a polytechnic graduate, but a Bachelor's degree holder as her undergraduate qualification. Why you persist with this stupidity is best known to you. To answer your question, Fola Adeola who founded and ran GTBank is a polytechnic graduate. |
How did Davido end up with such a useless woman as the mother of his child? Bikini pictures every week? Hasn't she got any talent to exploit for economic gain? |
Why is a party insisting that it will create problems for itself by already acknowledging that the action it is trying to avoid is the right and constitutional requirement, but it must still be avoided? Why is it hard for a party to honour its own constitution, talkless of honouring the electoral laws that guide political parties, talkless of honouring its agreement with the electorate that voted them into power? Maybe it is a divine mandate that this party destroys itself despite seeing the pitfall ahead, but unable to veer itself off the path of destruction. |
“I still remember the story of University of Lagos when on 2nd March 1965, then I was a lecturer in the newly established University of Lagos, they attempted to remove Prof. Enyi Njoku as the Vice Chancellor and I said no, we will not accept that. I mobilised all the university students and lecturers in protest and the university was closed down for a whole session. No be today Igbos have been causing wahala and trying to dominate all appointments in the federal government. How can a VC whose tenure had expired be removed illegally? Njoku was refused reappointment to a second term because he lost the vote to a Yoruba professor. But Igbos like Nwabueze will not have such happen to them on foreign soil and in a federal institution that was not owned by Igbos. But when the same Tafawa Balewa government that was partnered by Azikiwe chose to appoint same Eni Njoku for his first term, it was meritocracy then that should be applauded. However, his loss to Prof Saburi Biobaku was a crime by same Tafawa Balewa government? When Azikiwe kept on reappointing 3 successive Igbos as school council chairman in university of Ibadan, it was a very good policy that ensured both school council chairman and the university principal were Igbos? When an Igbo school council chairman ensured that the Igbo Kenneth Dike was appointed ahead of the Yoruba medical doctor and professor who was the most senior African on the school's academic board, Prof Oladele Ajose, it was meritocracy in practice? The Igbo council chairman, Dr Akanu Ibiam, told the reluctant Kenneth Dike point blank, that if he (who was not the most qualified) would not accept the appointment to be school principal, the council would have to look outside (and continue with a foreigner). Simply put, the Igbo school council chairman would not entertain the prospect of having a more qualified and most senior African professor who happened happened to be the first Nigerian tenured professor ever, who also happened to be a Yoruba man, become the 1st Nigerian principal of the University of Ibadan. Were the roles reversed, the Igbos like Nwabueze would have also closed down the University of Ibadan for a whole session, saying the Yorubas have cheated an Igbo professor who is the most senior African in the whole university. That is the meritocracy and justice logic of the Nwabueze people. Merit and justice is valid when an Igbo is the beneficiary. It is injustice when an Igbo does not have his way. Yorubas should thank their stars for the likes of Samuel Ladoke Akintola, who saw how the Igbos had used the opportunity of the NCNC partnership with the North, to corner every available position the uneducated North could not occupy in the 1960 independence government. He was the one who made sure that Yorubas got what they merited from the Balewa government. For his efforts, the Igbos made sure they killed him in the January 1966 coup. I am happy the likes of Ben Nwabueze are alive to see where their greed and attempt at monopoly and domination, has taken his tribe to in this Nigeria. |
ThankGod his mum is not skinning his head just to prove that he is the son of tuface. And to that mother that continues to skin the head of young Nino, she should remember that even Tuface had hair with rough curls as an adult during his plantashun boiz days. |
biggy26:Was Jonathan's region and religion not known to the voters who gave him his victory in 2011? When someone has failed admit it without ascribing sentiments. Jonathan was a woeful failure who did not value the presidency he got on a silver platter. Buhari who had to work hard over many attempts to get the presidency, has also shown that it is easier said than done, and it is easy to criticise when you're not the one in the spotlight. A people have every right to reject a failure who does no live up to expectations. So was the fate of Jonathan, so must be the fate of Buhari. |
It is not compulsory that everyone must worship a god or believe in the gods of some other cultures. A man like him who doesn't lookup to the sky would never be disappointed when the rain refuses to fall. |
Bambam can never be attractive in this life or the next. |
LordAdam16:I am determined that Nigeria must have and deserve better than Buhari, and by default it means PDP is not even a consideration. Let us watch as events and credible candidates unfold on other platforms. |
Lol! |
rainylad:I don't have any sympathy for you, nor do I empathize with you over the agony this thread that was created to bring you joy rather left you with misery and frustration. A misery and frustration so great that you had to quote me and abuse me and my tribe for bringing you so much sorrow on a thread you had hoped to find closure for your pathological hatred. Igbowoman, see a psychiatrist to cure you of your generational problem afflicting your tribe. I do not suffer fools gladly. |
rainylad:Did I mention Igbos in my initial post? But you could not bear it that I neutralized the propaganda that was meant to amuse the emotional cry babies of Nigeria, you had to quote me and mention all manner of abuse against me and my Yoruba tribe that even FFK belongs to. You could not bear it that I did not seize the opportunity that FFK provided, as you would, to castigate the tribes that you hate. We all know your weakness and we who know will continue to use it to control you, just as FFK has got you sucking on his dic.k. To even think that this same FFK mercilessly slaughtered the same Igbo tribe in his previous writings, only shows that he knows his onions on how to keep servants in check. You are well known as a tribe that cannot eschew hatred that was handed down by your ancestors. The same hatred that has brought you untold misery and that traumatised you so much you had to hate me for being objective in my analysis of FFK's intentional propaganda to feed his Igbo puppets. True to type, you did not have anything intelligent to contribute to the topic, except your disappointment that the propaganda did not fly. Read my post again and let it hurt your soul so much till you perish with agony in hell. That my objective post which only appraised the information supplied by FFK himself, got you so angry and hateful, already shows who is suffocating in frustration. |
