What he ought to have done when he addressed the press at the 1month deadline he had earlier set without seeking approval, was to apologise for the inability of the Tinubu regime to meet up to their own self defined standard.

Instead, he began claiming it was 2 months that was afforded the government to nominate Ministers, so if not exceeded the press should stop speculating.

It was a very disappointing anticlimax.

I doubt it was supposed to be permanent.

Especially when there is also NDDC operating to serve a similar purpose.

I am reinforcing what is a global standard that the role of a Minister is purely administrative and for political convenience.

Even in a parliamentary system of Government like the UK, ministers are picked from the MPs and it is purely administrative and political.

The ministry already have the career civil servants who are the technocrats.

For the American styled presidential system that we practice in Nigeria, only the Minister or Commissioner of Justice is required to be a career lawyer already called to the Bar. That is because such Minister or Commissioner doubles as the Attorney General, and must appear in Court as a legal professional on behalf of the government when necessary.

Dele Alake messed up with his " A Serious Government would nominate Ministers in 1 month" tripe. Only for him to come out at 1 month to say Tinubu has 60 days so Nigerians should stop speculating.

I had to go look up the price chart for the different states/cities in the USA, but my mistake was to think the listed prices was per litre instead of per gallon.
