GEJ has been judging his performance using previous administrations as his yard stick, he replies almost immediately, to criticism rather than focus on his job. He is easily distracted and anybody not supporting his ambition blindly like he does, will (somehow) have a case to answer (e.g mend)

FamilyRe: Photos: Woman Brutally Beaten By Husband For Allegedly Greeting Her Pastor by timawoku(m): 5:44pm On Jan 06, 2015
Its wrong to beat a woman no matter the circumstances!

That aside...

I still feel the man might have been driven to mete out anger on his wife,

This is a one sided story, questions are:

Has the woman 'caught' her husband red handed before she started insinuating her hubby's affairs with her pastor's wife?

There could be an instance whereby the woman in question is having an affair with her pastor, and the husband 'caught' them, but the woman now changing the story around (that her hubby is cheating on her) so as to protect her name and gain public sympathy? (Why is she saying her husband is cheating only after her beating?)

Where was the pastor when the beating commenced and why was he not the one to take the woman to the hospital (if he did not feel guilty of 'something' and made away)

Has the hubby been beating her before?

Why would any sane man beat his wife just for sleeping with greeting her pastor?

Am I missing something?

PoliticsBuhari's Certificate: APC Holds All The Aces by timawoku(op):
If you are doubting if Buhari really has his certificates or really went to school, then you might just be right(in accordance with what APC wants), because this might just be a good enough distraction (for APC) from all other subject matter that might be dug by their opponents (obviously PDP). You are a fool if you believe buhari has no certificates, he will only come out at the dying minutes and tender his original certificates, this will boost his popularity, and (really) silence his opponents and reveal their desperation. Its a nice played out game, but it amuses me as peops come on here and be like 'buhari is an illiterate', 'he has no certificates', etc... They are not only wrong, but stewpid. Buhari was a major general in the nigerian army (what don't you guys understand? Am I missing something?). If he does not have certificates then how did he become a major general? Are we questioning the admin operations of the nigerian army? Why are people so blind to see?. With all the happenings on this certificate issue I can authoritatively say that APC holds all the aces.

No doubt of recent seun posted in an advert for the position of paid super mod, shortly after, lalasticlala's post has been renting our FP every so often, even other mods would be jealous now, here are some questions for seun (and lalastic)

Is lalasticlala the supermod seun just got?

If so, has he been given a quota of post to 'grease' FP daily?

And lastly...

No doubt lalasticlala has been doing a great job, he has been sniffing up info's debatable and entertaining, but nonetheless, we deserve to know who he his to NL.

Nairaland GeneralWhy Corpses That Sunk Floats Back To The Surface Of Water by timawoku(op):
Was reading about the found flight airasia in the waters and was wondering (generally) why drowned dead bodies float back to the surface of water, here was what I got!

When a person drowns, water takes the place of air in the lungs. The body becomes heavier and sinks. It stays there until enough gas builds up inside the body from bacterial decomposition to make it buoyant and free it from the suction that silt and mud creates on the river bed, so that it surfaces.

How long this takes depends on the depth and temperature of the water, the amount of sunlight the corpse receives, and whether it is lying under a ledge or a bridge.

Whether the body is lying on the north or south side of a waterway can also affect the time it takes to rise, because heating of the water varies on each bank.

Obviously, the body can take longer to rise if it is underneath something like a tree, or is caught by an underwater obstruction. I once studied a body that had risen to the surface with part of a brick wall tied to it by ropes around the chest. There were five bricks covered with mortar on each side of the body and still it floated.

What's more, if a body is trapped by, say, its leg, the gases will keep forming until it is buoyant enough to detach itself from the trapped leg and rise up.

Bodies can also be washed into the side of a river and remain undiscovered, below an overhanging tree, for example.

Debris piles up on top of the body and silt accumulates. If the body lies out of the Sun's rays, which cause much more rapid decomposition, it can remain there until a flood washes away the silt and debris.

Of course, if the water is cold enough, the dead body may be held in "deep freeze" and it might never rise.

Answer 2:

Dead bodies undergo a series of changes, biological, chemical and physical, which eventually return the body's components to the food chain.

These changes and the speed of decomposition depend on where the body is. Decomposition in air is roughly twice as fast as it is underwater and about four times as fast as underground.

A living person has almost the same density as water: when you breath in, you float, and when you breath out, you sink.

This is why dead bodies sink initially.

Then the changes begin, and one of the most important is the bacterial decomposition of sugars and proteins in the tissues, mainly coliforms, Clostridium, Psedomonas and Proteus species.

These are anaerobic bacteria that normally live inside the large intestine, though they may come from an infected wound, such as gangrene.

As they feed on the decaying flesh, the bacteria excrete gases carbon dioxide and sulphur dioxide which inflate some body parts, mainly the face, abdomen and male genitals.

Bodies usually stay underwater for between one and two weeks, although this varies widely and some bodies never come up at all. One of the factors which affects this is the temperature of the water.

Contrary to common belief, there is no significant difference between the time it takes for male and female corpses to resurface. There is one notable difference though: while most corpses rise with spine uppermost, women and obese persons may rise face-up. This is caused by gas forming in breasts and large abdomens.

Guy I am just laughing at you because you don't know that one of my favourite field is economics.

Subsidy money made available for farmers as non collateral low interest loans at microfinance stage is more profitable than free food for schools
botherly!

Not saying you are a dunce in economics

Am just saying you might need to argue this one out with economists...

No doubt what you are saying is correct, there would be increase (to it's maximum potential) in farmer's output within a short time. I deeply appreciate your school of thought but feeding school children could have a wider effect on the economy.

Nice arguing with an enlightened mind.

Food production is far better than free food for schools

At least you will create jobs for the children when they grow
you are still wrong bro!

Ask an economist!

With the availability of increased market for farmers (the free food initiative), the government only has to increase the ceiling for the farm loans from bank, that will settle your 'increased food production' as some farmers would use their initiatives to further extend their tentacles abroad through efficient usage of their facilities by acting locally and going globally (ethnocentrism). There will be increased multiplier effect in the agricultural industry, and by just merely giving school children free food, the agric sector could be utilised and bring out its maximum output.

Invest in wealth creation schemes that are people orientated
my brother!

The major thing is that the money is accountable in the economy, then all the others shall be added unto the economy, to me (my own personal opinion),one of the most obvious re-investment of the government is feeding school children (at least school children can't lie that they were given food if they were not, and I don't think parents will lie also), let me also state that by feeding the school children, the government would have:

-Contributed to the agric sector
-contributed to the transport sector
-contributed to the educational sector
-contributed to the human resources sector
And also to-
Banking sector
Insurance sector
Food supply sector...etc

White technology don't be naïve...

Money maintained in the economy through any investment by the government will surely circulate!

Unlike oga jona openly smiling when money was being donated (or is it contributed) for his selfish ambition whereas if he can even donate this money back to school children for feeding, I will personally go and collect my voters card and vote for him

I would also like accountability by this government to show us exactly what the SURE-P has achieved. This is just a mere salary account for the government. Sadly, many graduates have hoped on this program from its inception, and majority are yet to benefit from it.
