martyns303: Wow! soo many awards to spell my name, lets have the face of Albert Einstein on a currency then, No? How about Chinua Achebe, maybe Wole Soyinka? Since awards are the basis for being immortalised on a currency, how did her achievements impact Nigeria as a Nation? Am sure u will have to think for a very long time since 95% of the people above don't even know who she is, irrespective of the fact that she has been on the N20 note for decades, someone even thought she was just a painting (to put it more harshly, that's how insignificant her achievements are, that no one remembers her).
But then even a 10yr old would recognize Mandela, Ghandi and the Queen, Nigeria lacks people of such reputation. (Bite me if you want). I would rather have the face of an unknown soldier who fought the Biafran war to keep Nigeria an independent and single nation.
And stop cursing, it doesnt tell well of u. you just don't get it do you? It simply means hardwork pays, do your best and be the best in whatever you do, its a motivation picture, if you don't get it,pls don't quote me. |

cegxie: Sorry to burst your bubble @ OP but these ones are second generation phones.. I belonged to the erricson T10, Nokia banana or feeding bottle class, then those ones newly came and were fairly used. I remember the seller asking me if I sold my fathers land just because I wan obtain his merchandise. The sim was mtn and it cost me 32k while the fone though fairly used was 20k.. My econet was 22k and the phone 16k back then... I will never forgive MTN and Econet for that.. With Glo came the samsung blue screen and that blinking led light.. Mehn.. How time flies... bro I didn't want to comment until I saw your post, I my first phone was motorola talk about (18k,2002) followed by erricson and later on, samsung true I (2005) most of these phones (not all) the op posted are of 2nd / 3rd generation nigerian phone users. |

Nairaland General › 10 Situations You Don't Want To Find Yourself In On A Public Transport. by timawoku(op): 12:46pm On Nov 07, 2014*. Modified: 3:43pm On Nov 07, 2014 |
These are my top 10 situations you really don't want to be in, in a local bus.
1) Looku looku: you just hate it when you are in a bus and the guy/lady in your front keeps looking back (or just glare back) every often (at what you don't know or not even interested in knowing) and your eyes make a match before looking forward, you are like 'what da?'
2)When you are soon to alight, and just discovered the peops seated by your exit side are 'very large', u be like, 'please can I jump?'.
3)You are about to alight and the rain just start pouring heavily, you be like 'shoulda I just miss my stop and continue staying in this bus'?
4)When the person next to you has bad mouth odour (no good one though),and worse still, lousy.
5) When the dude next to you keeps slumbering to you and falls on your shoulders, you will feel like?what da?
6)When you are next to a market woman and she is with her market wares.
7) When you discover the conductor just conned you, and that others are actually paying less than you for the same destination, you will feel like a maga.
8 ) You are in a tight corner in your tight jeans, you will most likely say 'conductor abeg, I will give you your money at the next stop'.
9) An evangelist is preaching loudly just by your side and when the prayer time comes, you are wondering if you should say your amen or just pretend to be a muslim
10)You tear your skirt/trousers on your way inside the vehicle. Low morale for the rest of the day...
Share yours please...

barcanista: On Goodluck Jonathan
President Jonathan 'If I’m voted into power within the next four years, the issue of power will become a thing of the past. Four years is enough for anyone in power to make significant improvement, and if I can’t fix power, it then means I cannot do anything even if I am there for the next four years.”-
Chief Olusegun Obasanjo 2013 "Jonathan has failed to deliver on his promises to the Nigerian people ... of living of Nigerians, Mr. Jonathan had betrayed God and the Nigerian people that brought him to power, and has been pursuing selfish personal and political interests based on advice he receives from “self-centred aides”.-
Gen IBB "The best we could do is to always sit with him in an environment that is really conducive and then give him advice, and I think I am glad to say that we are doing the best we can to assist him, while we urge Nigerians to be patient with Mr. President."-
President Museveni “I have never invited the United Nations to guard our security. Me, Yoweri Museveni to say that I have failed to protect my people and I call in the UN …I would rather hang myself. We prioritised national security by developing a strong army; otherwise our Uganda would be like DRC, South Sudan, Somalia or Nigeria where militias have disappeared with school children. It will be a vote of no confidence in our country and our citizens if we can’t guarantee our security. What kind of persons would we be?”- President Museveni of Uganda attacking Nigeria and Jonathan in its handling of BH
Speaker Aminu Tambawal “The President’s body language seems to be encouraging corrupt practices in the country
