According to the letter of the law written by FIFA themselves, any country that boycott will be banned, just like Nigeria was banned for 2 years when we boycotted AFCON 1996 in SA because of the Apartheid brouhaha then. Even though Nigeria's action was for a just cause.

If the case gets to CAS, the CAS will look at it from a logical and factual POV, and not from emotions, which will make CAS to overturn the decision.

The only thing they can do is to prevent CAS from hearing that case at all by postponing the hearing to a far date. Because once CAS hears that case, FIFA will loose

Russia will win that case at CAS. CAS is a court and the basis of their ban will be judged on it's merit and will be found to be nonsense.

The only thing the Europeans can do is not to make CAS to sit and hear the case. Which in itself will be bad publicity too.

Well, CAS is literarily a court of law for sports related issue. As we all know, courts deals with facts and not emotions. If the Russians present their case properly, they might win.

The Nukes weren't Ukraine's to give in the first place bro. Ukraine was just the location where majority of the Nukes owned by USSR were stationed. The Nukes belonged to Russia. When Ukraine wanted independence, they had to give up those nukes back to Russia , as part of the conditions of the independence.

It's just like Nigeria having most of its nuclear weapons stationed in Lagos. And one day Lagos decides that they want independence, you and I know that Nigeria won't allow Lagos to keep those weapons. They will be taken back from them as part of the conditions for letting Lagos go

Tbf, it's not hard for CIA to predict his moves, because Putin is just using their exact play book that they've used to invade countries in the past. America knows this, and there's nothing they can do about it for now, unless they want to risk a direct conflict with a nuclear power and a big military country like Russia.

For now, I doubt the USA are ready to take that risk. At least not now and not for a country like Ukraine. However, the UsA will most likely support Ukraine by proxy via supply them with endless weapons to fight because they won't want to be directly involved.

All in all, Ukraine will be the biggest loser , because Russia and USA will use their soil to test their latest military hardwares and will turn it into another Syria in the Middle if Europe
